Did a tourniquet break!? Testing 6 different tourniquets
Great video and some valuable information. I just purchased the very same generator from Tractor Supply to replace a smaller one that I loaned out to a friend who lost power during Helene. My main concern is to have power for my two refrigerators and freezer. Another thing I liked about this generator is that it comes with an “RV ready” plug. When out of power, we can gravitate to the RV where we have propane, water, sanitation facilities and heat/air along with stove/microwave. I think I’m going to love this inexpensive generator. It’s good to know that you have had yours for four years without any issues. Hate to criticize you, but I always turn my gas on/off valve to off while still running and let the engine burn the gas up out of the carburetor. I have never had problems if done this way. Thanks again for such a good detailed video. Would like to know what kind of camera you are using? The video and sound effects are spot on! God bless… Russ South GA

I purchase some as a response to what we didn't have when we should. This is super timely, and very straight forward. This and the NOAA channels will be my first programming action when they come in. Thanks for posting this!
@@mathewrtaylor that’s awesome and I really appreciate that! If you have any questions please email me at preparedcitizens@gmail.com. Thank you again brother!
Do you bother to mention that you need a license to operate on the amateur and GMRS freqs?
I think he made it pretty clear it was for emergency, but he should have mentioned it was not for general use without getting your license(s) first. GMRS is easy, 35 per 10 years for your family, Amateur Radio is a 35 Question test of a pool of about 410 questions, plus a small test fee and also 35 per 10 years I think (50?, its inexpensive)
Newer models of UV-5R won’t TX on GMRS frequencies because the FCC hates citizens…sad hams will say otherwise. Sad hams will also discourage you from talking on ham repeaters without a ham license. Give a middle finger to both 🖕
Can you unlock it? I bought a couple of UV-5Rs last year and was able to use the simple unlocking technique, they can both transmit on HAM and GMRS now. And I 100% agree about sad hams and FCC.

@@preparedcitizens I appreciate you, and taking your time to put this videos out, just purchased a signal stick as well.
@@Jacobzzzz-t9q you won’t be disappointed! I will be ordering more to keep in stock as well! Awesome stuff brother!
This is a issue. We are having big issues with major interference with the SARnet in Florida. I wish people would not put out these kinds of videos. There are to many trouble makers across the nation. If you do not respect our public radio services then please stay of our repeaters. It is sad the times we are living in. I have been a emergency responder and Firefighter for 27 years and this is sad that we have that kind of people in the world. Good work it is just sad we have people that learn just to cause interference to essential services. de KK4LGL/WSCJ942
So my NOAA reg channel 162.400 has stopped working during the current hurricane in fl. I checked all the others on the list. Nothing…
@@Mr.Stroke0331 Dang! Well definitely keep scanning. And if you need help start checking those repeaters! God bless brother.
I'll share this for you next week, I would have shared it today but I just shared someone else's repeater video yesterday LOL
@@Valorius all good brother!
Is this the version you can unlock?
@@Jacobzzzz-t9q yes! I should have mentioned that!
I had one that quit running after a day and half. I went thru everything and still would not crank. Finally had someone else look at it, finding oil was low. This model has a knock sensor that will not let it start/run if oil is low. I had checked the oil and thought it was OK, but NO, has to be a "just right" level. A little oil added and it purred.
Glad you got it going! Good stuff to know! Thank you!
I have the gas only but was thinking about just buying the carburetor kit for the dual fuel to make it work with propane. Should just be swapping out the carb right?
@@mchaywood83 I have no idea. I would call the manufacturer on that one. That’s above my pay grade. Sorry I wish I could help more but I don’t want to give you any bad information.
I agree! If you ever draw your carry pistol. You will most likely draw fast and point shoot. But what’s more important than anything else is situational awareness. If you don’t see or hear the treat coming, It’s already too late.
@@bravalin8872 definitely!
The best thing you can do for those handy talkie's is buy a N9TAX Slim Jim antenna. it will be the best 33 dollars you will spend on those radio's
@@KO4GAR nice. I’ve not tried one of those yet. I’ll definitely look into it!
Where can parts be bought for this?
@@omarh4694 that’s a great question. For me I would use eBay. I’ve bought many lawnmower and atv parts from there. And if you’re not 100% if something will work, send the seller a question and tell them what you need. Some are extremely helpful. And if they aren’t helpful I would continue looking for someone that is. But I’m sure there can also be other resources out there for parts too, I just don’t know of them yet. I hope that helps. If anyone else has places they know of please drop us some links. Thanks for watching and God bless!

@@kanotv_3638 yes sir! The only king we serve and follow is king Jesus Christ! Thank you and God bless brother!
great radio for the price. just be aware nothing you do on this radio will be private, but then again maybe thats exactly one of the parts of what makes this radio great for emergencies. this radio is where i started with radio about 4 years ago. program it for your 2m/70 ham repeaters gmrs/frs, maybe weather and toss it in a bag. the batteries will junk out after a few years though
@@jasonbrown467 excellent point about not being private! And I agree about emergencies. These are a good starter, all around radio. Good stuff brother!
It is kinda crazy how effective Baofeng radios are. I've owned many different models of these over the years, and they really are as good as everyone is saying. I do currently own the model he's discussing, for more than a year now, currently I just use them when the wife and I go hiking, we have been up to 3 miles apart and still received each others calls. I think I paid around $35 to $40 for both with two chargers and they came with the extended antennas.
@@daved4120 that’s awesome and hiking is a excellent way to test radios. Good stuff brother!
What about complete PSA firearms? In your experience, they usually work correctly? I have one of their AK’s right now with about 300 rounds through it and the bolt is currently locked up in the forward position, unfortunately. But I just ordered a dagger and a 10.5”.
I’ve honestly never bought a complete PSA firearm. So I hate to comment on that. But the uppers I’ve purchased has been great. And if there is an issue they are usually really good about correcting it.
Dude this thing saved us! We’re on day 7 in Georgia without power from Helene. It’s been a beast holding up like it has!
