    I'm finding that the difference between the GCSE workload and A-level workload is like the difference between day and night. It's massive! I'm struggling to find a good theme though.

      Namjoon Kim Totally!! Themes are difficult to decide, we made mind-maps to explore different ideas it really helped narrow down a good one to work from overall 😊

    I'd say that A Level art is easier if you do most of your work in College itself, instead of leaving it until you go home. For example in Frees etc. :) I also did environment and finished this year!

      Rebecca Lucy Yes definitely! That is something I wish I’d done but I used that time more for photography. Ahh that’s awesome, I hope you’re enjoying your next chapter in life now😄✨

    Im literally here with my A-Level form. Ive already ticked 2 subjects i want to do for a level but now for the third one, i can't decide whether i should take a-level art cuz itll be so time consuming and stressful. The subjects i picked was Journalism and Construction (single) and there's no other subject im good at or enjoy doing other than art but it's extremely time consuming and im an active person so i dont like to sit down for 6 hours or more drawing you know so im in such a dilemma but i certainly have the talent for it. I have been drawing since i was a child but im bad with deadlines and schedules which are essential when it comes to doing art. Soo idk...

      Reign Barrun thank you for commenting, that really does sound like a dilemma. A Level art certainly is time consuming and very stressful with deadlines and such, but if you have the talent and you enjoy it I’d say go for it. You can always change when you start your A Levels, I didn’t originally take Art I swapped something else to take it instead as I changed my mind! your other subject choices sound so good!! Good luck in them xx

    I’m gonna do drama, photography, business and psychology. But I kinda wanna swap business for art but I’m not sure if I should

    • @ellenmelon1999

      Oooh good choices!! You've got to do what you really feel is right for you, maybe you could try business and if you still feel you want to change to art I'm pretty sure you have until the end of the first term to swap! I've got to say it's a lot of work alongside a photography A Level too but if you're passionate about it then it's worth it 😊

    Dear Ellen...can you tell me please, that, is "Art and Design" a great subject to do in A levels if you are creative and want to pursue art more?
    And what combination will be good with that? Im thinking of Art, English Literature and.....???

    • @ellenmelon1999

      I didn't do the Art & Design course, I did Fine Art, but from some of my friends who did the Art & Design course at college they loved it & it helped them explore how they wanted to peruse art further such as carrying on for a foundation or starting a degree! So did my course but I didn't do any textiles or printmaking for example. I found two art subjects a heck of a lot of work but it was worth it, and id definitely recommend taking English alongside it they go very well together!! Possibly photography, or graphic design if you're interested in that too?

    do you think the work load would be too much if you were trying to do 4 a levels (one being fine art) (the others being computer science, maths and biology)

    • @louisefox361
      @louisefox361 6 років тому +3

      Kritzo YES DEFINITELY! I would never recommend art if already taking 3 other subjects, especially maths because I feel like that’s one of the hardest A levels a person can take.

    Can you do it at home, by yourself?

    • @ellenmelon1999
      @ellenmelon1999  4 роки тому

      Yes, I did do a fair bit of the course at home! As long as you've got the art supplies & equipment, and you can email/message your teacher then I'd say yes absolutely :)

      @@ellenmelon1999 oh alright! My dad actually hesitated alot because of all the supplies he would have to get me ;; also I don't have a teacher Im doing a levels by myself
      My dad wanted me to do business though so I took that instead!

    • @ellenmelon1999
      @ellenmelon1999  4 роки тому

      @@ak1hiro133 yes that's the expensive part - making sure you have the supplies yourself! I think because I've done art all my life, I had everything at home anyway, but if that's not the case it's a very big investment.
      Oh wow congrats! Hope it's going well :)
