i find it incredibly awesome for a woman to fly the big jet, and i feel proud and happy that they are doing it..i would fly with any woman at the controls..BRAVO!!

The Captain is an old Pro and knows his Onions!..You can just sense that he is not an Ego Maniac and that makes him a Master Teacher!....Not many Like Him around anymore!...Great personality!....Well apart from being HOT, The First officer is also a Pro and did a outstanding Job! ....Nice Flying!
KC flyer2, the sound you are hearing is the speed brake lever engaging. If you will notice the lever with the white handle, at the CPT's right hand. Upon rear gear touch down, the lever will move aft, deploying the speed brakes on the wings. That's the noise you were wondering about.
"Approaching Minimums" means that you are approaching the missed approach point (altitude) and "Minimums" means that you have hit the missed approach altitude. If you don't have the approach lights or runway in sight, you have to execute a missed approach.
@ns81 flying begins on the ground and ends on the ground.If there is a cross wind you need aileron inputs while on the ground to maintain level wings and stability

@applesweeter Minimums is the minimum height above ground that the pilots must be able to see the runway. If they can't see it they have to execute a missed approach/go around. V2 is the minimum critical engine out safety speed. Its the speed that the plane can fly safely with a failed engine. On a 747 its around 180 knots.
depending on the length of the flight there would be more crew onboard and they'd swap depending on company rules say every 2hours or 4 hours or half way through the flight etc

they dont need an other crew, Pilots are (mostly) allowed to work for 14hours a day, so there is only a backupcrew on board when the flight was longer than about 12hours (2h for planing and paperwork )

@Khazar01 Pilots will almost always land manually if conditions are visual. They might fly the approach with autopilot on, and will carry out full autolands regularly for procedural familiarity but generally from short finals to touchdown, manual landings are the norm.

checked the speed 3 times well and did a great landing. should practice crosswind landing though. the wind seemed so calm.

No, 80 knots was a callout the pilot made, then V1, then rotate...probably rotating around 120 knots or so...
