No pyrotechnics, no lasers, , no props , didn't need to make a show. They were the show , just raw and in your face . Love it..
Meanwhile I was STILL thinking
And off her face in the best way ever... proper live and as was extended version
Well they did have CLEM
Nothing wrong with using that stuff either
and No smart phones to ruin the night.
Debbie Harry a rock legend paying tribute to another great Marc Bolan and his mythical T-REX this era of music was one of the greatest of all time...
Damn cool to see something "new" from Blondie that's 40 years old!
exactly . and great band lineup at this point of the band.
@ted ritola Not quite 41. Two months to go. Debbie singing Marc's song, two great performers.
You've got to wonder if she ever thought she would still be gigging 40 years later....
Old, indeed. I would be 10 years old when this was recorded.
@@ronedwards9599 I was 9 years old
Hey Mr. T REX, Are you checking this out? 2023 & still sounds great!!! 🎉
If you're a man and have trouble with blood circulation after watching Debbie, there's something wrong! Seek help urgently.
This was the raw gritty stuff you had to go to the concerts & clubs to hear. Never heard on the mainstream radio of the day.
UA-cam, TikTok and tv talent(?) shows have done away with all that. They want instant stardom now, not tramping round the pub/club circuit, sadly.
@@flipper2392 I work part time in the periphery of the music industry. & yeah I meet that group. The post modern studio performers. Mostly I meet or work with musicians that prefer and thrive on live shows, the clubs, bars, coffeehouses, college parties, outdoor shows, festivals. The advantage of audience feed back is there and these musicians are open to the benefit of interaction with the live audience
Blondie was post-punk... which, to my mind, is basically just punks who got really good at playing and performing (image is important too) ;)
BTW: Debbie Harry going on the Muppet Show and singing Rainbow Connection... Peak cool
Yes. Growing up, I'd only ever heard Disco Blondie on the radio.
I was at this concert...was my 22 and B-Day...I don't quite remember who was with me really...but I do remember my car broke down 3 times getting there...lol...but once we did..so much fun!!! Much love for Blondie!!! A staple in my late teens and early twenties!!! TY for all the good times in NY & NJ !!!
Love it Belle
Thanks
That’s amazing 🥰👏🏽✨
@@Danny-mx8rb you're very welcome!!! ✌️
@@nmg6248 It was!!! 😊✌️
Belle. I remember driving to a Gig, to see Ritchie Blackmore`s Rainbow and it was so Foggy you couldn`t see more than 20 feet in front of you. We ended up sitting on top of the pile of Boxes that all the Speakers and Amps came out of. Security came to get us down. It was still a great night though. Happy Days 👍🎸✌️
One of the most physically attractive women to have lived IMO. Not a tattoo or piercing to be seen. She didn't demand respect, she EARNED it. Modern "women" should take a fuckin' lesson.
Modern women with masses of tatoos not a feminine look
Outstanding! This and her duet with Kermit singing The Rainbow Connection truly puts her in the upper pantheon of Rock Goddesses.
Listening to that duet makes me cry.
Also look for the video of her demonstrating how to do the Pogo.
The best female vocalist, singer ,front woman in music history. For my money!!!
Mannn.. All these years gone, I'm 60 yrs old I still falling in love with Deb Harry. Clem Burke is one the best drummers I had ever seen.
Well, we're still alive!
@@FestusBro breathing, but dead, brain dead.
So much for today's Pop singers. Harry had it all.
Her voice is so unique. No one sounds like her, nor any ever will
Don’t forget the Fiitness😍😍😍😍
@Mike Cap why she's got to be a foreigner...also UA-cam is not exclusive to America
Bolan's voice is even more unique and original version of the song sounds better than that one.
@@jacknikitos6185 oh I have heard Marc alright. He's one of my many favorites. I also love the Power Station cover version. Imo both are very good covers. They did him justice.
Thanks for saying that Feen.
The voice is kinda amazing.
She's our Deb and nothings gonna change that. Damn I love her
I was almost seventeen & life couldn’t have been sweeter..oh to be back there again what I wouldn’t give..😎👍
Me too❤
She always looked like she was having fun with the act, even when she was doing the smouldering type of performance. Stunning.
she had it all, including notes of mental illness
Crafty, chasing all the red and gold and green.
Absolutely, smoldering and fun!

I'm glad I saw this before I died .
Are you still with us ?
I saw Blondie back around this time and although I wasn't expecting much they played a great set and brought the house down. And while Debi was and is a great performer the thing I remember most was Clem Burke's incredibly energetic drumming . Those were the days
Having just seen them at Glastonbury(about 4th time I've seen em?). Debbie still performs incredibly ( maybe she doesn't have the range but gets round it by 'playing' with the songs, like here tbh!) . But yeah, that Clem Burke drumming, wow!
One of the few bands qualified to cover this tune
So this is a cover?
@@mbsthecomeup5396 yes! the original song is by T.rex written and composed by the amazing Marc Bolan!
@@mbsthecomeup5396 it was their encore when they did clubs dates
I was there and saw them live about ten times over the decades in NYC and NJ. They ALWAYS put on a fantastic show and had a great time doing it!
Youse guys all look wasted, lol! Ludes coke and grass; good times!
Lucky you !
What an exit!! When you're Blondie, you can do most anything you want. They were just having fun here.
Brilliant love her
Wow...didn't think anything could top the original version!
you were right.
@@notanother7396 I agree.
With all respect to Blondie who are a great band, this is not their finest hour. A rough jam version and nowhere near to standing up to the T Rex version
She's just so good at any song she performs. One of the greatest musical talents of all time. A master vocalist and entertainer among the finest.
And very sweet and humble in person as well! She will always be an inspiration and a one-of-a-generation talent.
@@OhClaire714 Absolutely. I'm not surprised she's sweet and humble. I get that vibe Kelley that just comes through; unlike today's talentless whatever they are. I got to see Blondie in concert in 1997 at the Universal Amphitheater (now long gone) and Debbie and the guys were amazing. Still are today. This (later section of the '70s) rendition is a fresh take on the T Rex classic while still being faithful to it. Thanks Kelley.
Agree 100% Paul, and really can't add anything except to say I love her too. She rocks, pun intended!
Blows Joan Jett away totally and much better looking
nothing like a cute blondie !!!!
July 1 Debbie will be 78 years old... She's the Greatest Blonde that ever Rocked
Best singer/front woman of her generation. Sexiest blonde since Marilyn Monroe. Influenced everything. Kudos to her band mates as well.
Sexiest blonde since Harlow
My wife cannot understand why I keep watching old Blondie videos
Damn dude thanks for the laugh
I’m gay I can’t stop watching either lol
She has a bad taste
🤔😂
My wife does.......😏
It's the damn fine cheekbones....that's what I tell her & she agrees
Clem doing a Keith Moon hop over the drumkit move:)
Debbie singin' here like an alley cat...and that's a good thing.
That's a hot gal...great singer and owned the stage
I can just look at this over and over again
Best Blondie live performance I have ever seen.
? Looks and acts wasted and high. Of key and beat.
you must be an auto tune lover @@jesse75 🤣
@@MrMikeC53 no. Just a musician before Cher started using that thing.
@@MrMikeC53 Blonde is a doll. Saw her in the 70's. She flashed her hairless clam in concert.
Legend. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm still in love with Blondie, I started to listen to her back in the mid 70's when I was in the Navy and all of my friends who were R&R only started to appreciate her music. I went to a Disco in France and everyone was dancing to her music!!!
Blondie's not her. It's a Band!
@@wayneelliott7011 good to let him know her name is "Debbie" Deborah Harry, I can't recall her middle name but it's conventional and cute, imo.
If you want to see Debbie Harry with the muppets, just type Debbie Harry muppets in the dialogue box,
Kermit AND Debbie Harry! Most Excellent! Karl
@@wayneelliott7011 thank you
So since the 70's you've she was Blondie?
Hardcore fan.
I love when Debbie does the marching in place thing.
Great song, makes me wonder what other great songs we missed out on due to Marc's untimely departure.
The year 1979 should just be called Blondie ! Debbie is beyond awesome here !
One of the best places to see a concert. I was 15 at this show, Jesus it was almost too much to watch her.
Did you Ever recover? Boundary stretching stuff here!
15!!! Should be fkn illegal!
ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCCES EVER OMG THIS IS AMAZIIIING
Michael McLoughlin
This is a revelation , this is the first time I've heard Blondie do
this song, shes got the whole place jumping. I bet Marc Bolan would love this performance.
I don't think he would .
Using the same icons will bring together the generations. THis is geat music.
What a cover of this classic
Saw her last year at almost age 75. Still awesome. She was my college (1978-1982) crush!
1979 I was 17 years old this band was the best
Longtime Blondie fan ever since I heard "Attack of the Giant Ants" and I had NO idea this existed.
Thank you, a thousand times, thank you.
Debbie was one of the few that could wear a black plastic bin liner and still look a pure stunner. I never get tired of seeing her, as would any red blooded male and probably a few red blooded females as well. The complete package.
Too right, she is my girl crush!
We're all red blooded, mate. Unless you're a fungi
THIS is how I remember Blondie!
At this tempo, I was half expecting Deborah Harry to break into "Is it my imaginaaaation..."
😂
Never heard this version before _ Love it Raw
Miss Debbie is lit here, and that's what was so great about the 70's: unpolished, dirty, get--down music.
Dirty but still not trash, like sold out females of pop music now, she looks insolent and confident, like a man can be, but with incontested sex appeal of a woman ad she is classy though, that was real pure feminism and it came from punk..
lyes lamrani I remember seeing her walk down the street when I started working for d.s. in NYC back in nineteen ninety we were the only two people on that twenty's numbers Chelsey street on a cloudy spring morning at first I was going to climb out of the street sweeper I was driving and at least say hello but I changed my mind decided to respect. Her privacy so I just tried to take a couple of good looks and keep going she was one of the most attractive woman I have ever seen in my life that was fifteen years before this tape. The way she looks here could this be her hard core days at least she cleaned herself up well
Loved every moment of this classic clip, this is around when great music was around.
I was 19 when this was shown, jeez didn’t she look great. Still does❤️❤️👏👏
Would have loved to have been at that show. Remember buying a Blonde album and thinking Debbie Harry was so beautiful. Long live New Wave. That was such fun, creative time when commercialism wasn't the most important thing.
New Wave was grreeaatt...it bridged the gap between disco/pop and rock...everyone could party and dance and have a great time
Plastic Letters, Blondie's 2nd Album was my first purchase, then I bought the first release and continued on to the entire collection!
They weren't new wave...punk ,pop
Almost forgot what a force of nature she was in her time.....Plus a Stone Cold Fox!
Killer. Absolute killer.
Blondie were a pretty tight band, and Debbie was the icing on the cake !
How fucking awesome was that?????
I think I have arrived in heaven. Debbie Harry doing Get It On. Wow
One of the best front ladies ever. Debbie Harry is an icon.
The greatest most beautiful artist ever!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤
Best tribute to being a Marc Bolan fan from New Jersey -- in New Jersey -- ever!

Always in love with her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debbie Harry in 1979: the world was almost perfect!
In case you didn't know, this is rock 'n' roll...!!!
I don't know how I went from Cannibal Corpse to Blondie but I'm so glad UA-cam found this for me.
please never change. you are a force of nature that has yet to have been comprehendable.
I saw them in Detroit ‘79 at the Cobalt Arena I was 16 that was my first concert. What a way to start still love you Debbie 💕
I’m reading her memoir now. Absolutely riveting for this Jersey chick. Can’t believe this was down the shore in AP ! Wish I went to this show SO badly....
This is the true definition of "PUNK"...it's not about the music, but the idea of expressing yourself and not giving a FUCK about what other people think.
My favourite song performed by my favourite girl ❤️❤️❤️!
What a perfect song for them to do.
Whenever life gets me down i just, bang,a,gong!
I'm gonna use Bolan's quote when he saw Siousxie and The Banshees do 20th Century Boy, "She's got potential." He was so funny!
that's about as good as it can get ever again .. rock on folks !!
Like it, everyone has fun, Blondie jumping like happy kid 🤹🏼♀️
she's a legend.
Best and sexiest performance by Debbie ever! I finally got to see her in concert this year and at 69 she was still hot!
H-O-T -Hot!
She always has been a goddess
Uh huhuh you said 69!
Yes! But as one gets older,It gets harder to keep fresh.

Back in the day this was their encore (as this is)...so awesome.
Love you Deb
long before autotune and bs images, there were such things as real rocker woman with killer vocals and punky attitudes...Blondie is always welcome in my stereo
BLONDIE was the first band I ever saw live opening for Alice Cooper in June 1978
If Marc saw this, he would have given Debbie a hug
Clem could play the hell out of them drums.
While singing.
Debbie, oh Debbie, Dirty and sweet oh yeah! Marc would be proud. The late Robert Palmer also did a killer version of this song.
How cool!! I would have loved to see this exact show and this cover being performed! What awesome energy!!
💖Debra saw her in78 some one gave me a real picture of her she's really gorgeous and always will be...she rocks this song!!!
Bravo.
I was at this show. So glad that thus got posted
And I've drunk myself blind to the sound of old t rex, and who's next?
Over thirty years ago I remember my version . Get it on pack a bong get it on . I never seen this version .
I think Marc was banging a gong, but your version has much truth to it.
Blondie was just a very Slick, Hip Chick!!!! Long live the original BLONDE AMBITION!!! And let's NOT forget that the boys in the band had the Musical chops to really ROCK too!!!
I’ve had a mad crush on Deborah Harry for decades, and I’d always kinda assumed she was in her teens and twenties when Blondie broke big. But tonight I figured out she’s 34 years old in this video … which makes her only 2-1/2 years younger than my mom!! 😕
Oh well. More power to Ms. Harry. You only live once. ❤️
Wow, what a song to close a show with -- and they hella did it justice!!!
Pure raw Blondie. And Debbie is just sweating pure awesome, here.
Nailed it.
This is what mysic should be just plain RAW. No gimmicks nothing added to distract you. Jusy plain raw music
exceptionel, unbelievable
I have to say it's a magical perfomance here. Awesome
@3:35 such an incredible stage presence Go Debbie.
Oh my god she’s gorgeous!
great blondie guitars...true sound
Clem burke was sent to earth from another dimension he is not human , or machine he is a fkg drum god period 👌👌👌👌
