Marilyn was too passive and dumb. I've always thought of Debbie as more of a Brigitte Bardot of rock n roll. More strength, more modern, more natural and more assertive.

She is so great. And the drummer is exceptional. He's right there right next to her all the way. She's a philanthropist, 74 and lives in Miami Florida. It took me this long to understand her greatness better.
Miami ? Interesting . You don’t hear often of retired rock greats living there . I knew she was a philanthropist . A really cool person . Just learned she was born there . Go figure .
She doesn't live in Miami, she has houses in NYC, NJ and Conneticut. She was born in Miami but was adopted at 6 months old and raised in New Jersey by Catherine and Richard Harry. The drummers name is Clem Burke and yes he is exceptional.
Beside Blondie and the bands excellent performance, that drummer was really kicking ass through the whole show!! what a great Concert, thanks for posting!!
I was a huge Blondie fan right from when I first heard Denis and discovered Plastic Letters and their first album. Looking back they were much better than I appreciated at the time, especially the drummer.
Funny I was 12 years old in 1980 and I was totally taken by Clems drumming why did it take so many years for people to notice him? Chris Stein also a great song writer!
Throwing darts from the top of the stairs with Ian on to his Airfix aircraft models to asses battle damage with the radio on, Sunday Girl. Ian died on his new 500cc motorbike about a year later 2 days after his 18th birthday (1983). Debbie Harry is still our teenage icon.
Like a rocket to the ocean!!!! One of many classic lines, in 11:59 a song of sublime raw musical magic created by this band. Debbie knew how to work her looks for sure but boy could she back it up when singing, very few since have had that raw edged ability or genuine talent. No auto tune, or electronic help. If only there were more like her now the music industry would be a much more interesting proposition all round. Parallel Lines must be high on most music lovers top 100 album lists?
I knew a singing teacher who dissed Debbie until she had to teach Picture This to the singer of a band after I taught it to the guitarist. Put an end to the dissing.

I'm not. I expected far better.
I’m also underwelmed
They were killing it
they are more of a studio band but this is still excellent xD
Effin WOW! Haven't seen anything like this in a while. Raw talent, underground ethos, and vitality that changed a culture. Desperately needed again in these dark days.
Absolutely the best era for music as far as I'm concerned
debbie is the marilyn monroe of rock& roll.
Marilyn was too passive and dumb. I've always thought of Debbie as more of a Brigitte Bardot of rock n roll. More strength, more modern, more natural and more assertive.
Punk not rock 'n' roll.
Punk is a sub genre of Rock and Roll. Blondie blurred the lines, as did Motorhead. Made both bands phenomenal acts.
Debbie is the Debbie Harry of Rock n Roll
@@guyinsf Ooops, google Marilyn Monroe IQ and try again. ;)
Absolutely stunning and truly amazing! Too bad there aren't bands like this anymore. These people were the real deal!
Great vocalist, pretty as well, but the drummer is bands greatest asset. Good band overall, tight real pros. Peace.
Clem is a beast on drums but I wouldn't say that. Without Debbie there would have been no Blondie at all and without Clem, Blondie would have still existed but not as good of a band.
@@guyinsf I'm with you re' Clem and Debbie - if he quit, it would be a huge shame and they'd lose so much of the character of their sound, but it would instantly be game over without her! People forget that Debbie and Chris wrote most of the songs, though, including nearly all their many hits; they're so underrated as writers.
in 79 every girl wanted to be her and evry guy wanted to be WITH her
Clem Burke is a monster drummer.
In a suit and tie no less!I always loved the mixed-time beats in One way or another since the first time I heard it as a kid.
Dreamin' and X-Offender!!!!
He was a temporary Ramone under the hilarious name Elvis Ramone!
Eh, monster I think not sometimes less is more when it comes to drums Clem Burke is actually pretty basic I think he is well aware that the band isn’t that good so he tries to provide fill and cover.
There’s only one monster drummer John Bonham
She's an incredible performer. Saw her live about 10 years ago. Still rocking beautifully
Clem Burke Drums Blondie and Paul Reynolds Guitar A Flock of Seagualls...two hidden gems
Man, this lady could sing!
Mesmerizing. Her, the band, the music, the venue, those times. Magical. Very grateful for the upload.
Debbie Harry is one of the hottest women who's ever lived in the age of photography.
There are some cave drawings that come pretty close though!
What a beautiful girl!!!
Eternal admirer of this Pretty Baby (16:45)
Debbie Harry is the most beautiful woman to have ever existed. Pure perfection
That's correct!
Look at her now. Too bad people become "less fresh" when aging. But yes, she once WAS.
@@Menck1 I bet Blondie's drummer doesn't jump off the set anymore too
That’s unlikely to be true.
Yep no false tips, no lip fillers ,no botox, just some hair dye and pure authentic beauty
Even in black and white one of the best concert videos on film...on the beach Asbury Park, New Jersey...late 70's and into the 80's a Blondie Concert Ticket was literally Gold...yes it was a great period in Rock on the East Coast...
Obsesionado con Blondie ❤. Que banda tan increíble, talentosa y maravillosa. Para los que no los pudímos ver en aquellos tiempos, es bueno tener estos videos 🔥❤😍
I saw Blondie just a week or 2 after this video...…...July of 1979 in Central Park. Free concert.
I saw them a week after this at the Tower Theater outside Philly with Rockpile. Best concert in my life.
I'm so jealous
Blondie was one of my favorite groups. Debbie Harry is outstanding, gorgeous with a great voice. brings back alot of memories for me of the early 1980's. Long live the 1980's!
Thing about a Blondie concert is the great music that is sung very well by the gorgeous Debbie Harry, but it make it even better you get to watch Clem Burke and admire his percussion genius!
Great f*cking set! Drummer kills it nonstop! D.H in perfect form, voice never falling out!
The drummer kicks ass!
Clem Burke. was and still is awesome.
...please excuse my use of capitals but...SOLID PERFORMANCE...by every member of this band.
Seen Blondie live 7 times and always right up at the front and Deborah is even more beautiful in life.. I managed to get her signature on three photos, she was tiny with a BIG Fabulous Face & Voice.. What A woman. When she’s in the room everyone else palls into insignificance.. 👄👄👄
Very good camera, audio, lighting and production crew.
Well done ! Thanks for making this available.
I saw Debbie perform in Vancouver, Canada in 2018.
She was fabulous.
Great band and Deborah is the sexiest woman who ever lived PERIOD.

@SMT Admin - Who Gives a fuck what She is when She has that much Beauty and Talent...You're fucking Blind and Stupid...
Harry is quite a dame that's for sure
@@Wykydtronx4055x You can find him saying the same stupid shit all over youtube wherever a beautiful woman is the star of the show, I think he has some serious issues
She was gross...always looked like someone's alcoholic mother and got by on Jewish moxie. But as many have pointed out here, Clem Burke was a monster drummer, so at least there's that
She is so great.
Go figure .
Debbie lives in the NYC metro area. She was born in Miami but adopted as a child by a NYC couple.
@@lisacolbert5987 She's not retired, she still tours regularly with Blondie. She also doesn't live in Miami at all. Just born there.
She doesn't live in Miami, she has houses in NYC, NJ and Conneticut. She was born in Miami but was adopted at 6 months old and raised in New Jersey by Catherine and Richard Harry. The drummers name is Clem Burke and yes he is exceptional.
@@straycatttt2766 A New Jersey couple.
I thought the Live Apollo was the best but this is even more betterer!
Saw them live 6 months after this at de Montfort hall Leicester U.K. blew me away. None better than Clem.
You need to get out more.

@@Zarav6 Goofy?
I wish they just left the camera on Clem Burke.
Not only was Blondie a talented singer (no back ups singers and no auto tune!), but man she was hot!
Blondie is the name of the band, not the singer.
Blondie is the band, the singer is Debbie Harry
Debbie was a red hot blondie
Beside Blondie and the bands excellent performance, that drummer was really kicking ass through the whole show!! what a great Concert, thanks for posting!!
Blondie and the band?
Blondie IS the band :P
Paul and the other BEATLES
Im sure this performance tops any act at this years Coachella and i didnt even watch any performance from there.
@Sleeping It really is
@Sleeping Ok, who is better than this? Show your work.
Outstanding..and that drumming!!!
i can never forget first performance on Top of the pops...omg 14 year old me had never seen a female singer looking or singing like that
I was a huge Blondie fan right from when I first heard Denis and discovered Plastic Letters and their first album. Looking back they were much better than I appreciated at the time, especially the drummer.
Funny I was 12 years old in 1980 and I was totally taken by Clems drumming why did it take so many years for people to notice him? Chris Stein also a great song writer!
Totally underrated drummer
"I'll meet cha" ah that pure NY accent comes right through the song. I saw Blondie back in the day and they were loud & fabulous.
not that pure. she's a jersey girl, originally.
Her original parents were from Florida.
One waaaaaay or another!
Even on the top 10 here. Cant find anything wrong with that album at all!
Don't forget, Harry co-wrote many of the band's greatest hits.
I knew a singing teacher who dissed Debbie until she had to teach Picture This to the singer of a band after I taught it to the guitarist. Put an end to the dissing.
Debbie is totally on point with her vocals here. As is the rest of the band as well. Outstanding performance.
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing.
No fancy smoothing software and crap, just pure raw true pleasure and heart and love of Debbie Harry and band of Blondie, just as i remember listening into small hours on radio luxembourg until i fell asleep wich happened many times :-) with amazing vibes wakening next morning, YEAH unbeatable, TNX Blondie....
This is really good footage. Thanks!
Wow fantastic concert, bought all the Blondie albums on cassette and still have them, fantastic, especially first 2 albums
just discovered this.. I love this band always.. soooo amazing
Hey, 2019, Deborah Harry called from forty years ago. She wants her style back.
