Im a mechanic in NZ. What a neat old truck and in reasonable condition for its age. It will be a great project for someone. Ive had the same problem getting wheels off trucks too. try a block of 6 x 2 against the back of the wheel and use the body jack between it ad the chassis. Then just rotate the wheel . Do it bit by bit. It flexes a lot on the springs sometimes and you have to chain the axle to the chassis to stop it trying to lift the truck up but it works 9 times out of 10 and usually no damage.. LOL
I really enjoy watching this fellow work. He has the thin build and sinews of a guy who has worked hard his entire life. He knows how to conserve energy snd he doesn't waste energy flailing around. He puts just enough energy into the job to get it done, but he can put some serious elbow grease into a job when that is what's required to get it done.
Early middle aged dude with a physical job... The key here is that he smokes. Most of the guys like him that I've met in my 56yrs were all in the trades and smoked like chimneys. Rather than snack/eat, they light one up... Does wonders for keeping someone thin, not for me, but it seems to work.
Yes the Bell trucks would tow a trailer with the poles and a red flag. Other times a flat bed like this would be carrying a huge cable spool. Still other times you'd see ones with a high toolbox back and pulling a trailer too. Potato farms turning into neighborhoods.
What an awesome Mack! I learned how to drive a truck in a b model Mack with a duplex when I was 15 ! It would be an awesome class c motor home conversion!
Great video. My guess is it's a telephone line truck. At that time they worked in 5 man crews and used winches for moving and standing poles. It even looks to be Bell System green.
This here Mack was my first hiway truck ! since it was my first experience, i wanna get a heavy duty truck that wouldn t breack on the road ! So i went for a 1985, 350 econodyne model R Mack with camelback suspension, no air ride ! lol ! i bought it in 1986 ! You can see it better if you click on it ! I also drove a Superliner for one year ! that was one of the most powerfull and fast truck i ever drove ! 500 Mack and a 65 inch Mic-Mac sleeper ! very comfy ! Mack trucks were famous on our Canadian roads back in the 80s ! all good memories ! Sorry i m a year late ! lol 😎
IT'S NOT REALLY A SHAME IT'S GOING OVER SEA'S IT'S A REAL GOOD DEAL THAT IT'S NOT BEING CUT TO PIECES AND TURNED INTO A CHINESE DAMN OR SONE OTHER PIECE OF CRAP
@@stevesparks2001 Yes and no... I've seen some pretty spectacular restored genuine US "old iron" done overseas... There's a few gorgeously restored old CAT diesel's in the UK/EU and Australia. There's stuff over there that's fully restored, that we don't have any of over here.

Fellas, forgive me for taking up commentary space with this but, seeing your Bobcat on Tracks triggered a humorous memory of my working at the General Alloy Casting Company foundry in Rochester,Beaver County, PA where we had a Bobcat on wheels and one day, while I was working outside in the foundry materials storage yard, a crew member, upon us both seeing the Bobcat at work in the yard, remarked to me, "You can't roll a Bobcat. Did you know that?". As soon as my crew member said it to me, then our foundry Bobcat came hauling ass through the yard and sure enough, flipped end over end landing right side up and the Bobcat driver 'Terry' being left unhurt. The point of the story is that if you could have seen the shocked expression on the faces of the Bobcat driver,my crew member and I, then it was one of those 'Kodak Moments'. 😂🤣😂 Anyways,I'm really enjoying this video and am looking forward to watching as many as you currently have on your channel and all newer ones. 👍
that is one sweet old truck! idk how I missed it. but I am glad ya got it and showed her some love! peace and God bless y'all for saving her! sad to hear she is leaving the country. or already has..
What a beautiful truck, I imagine leaving its original front and building a mobile home on it, congratulations for showing us this jewel, here in my country I have not seen it, the oldest seen is the B-42, Greetings from Tachira, Venezuela
When struggling with those wheels when you heat them up dump a bucket of cold water on it,the rapid shrink will break the rust, might need to do it a few times but it should make it a little less struggle.
I like that 60 Fleetside you got sitting there I had one about 10 years ago I put a small block 400 in it left the granny box for Speed and got a dump truck Overdrive singing to 80 miles an hour all day long on the highway
dude I feel your pain getting those back wheels off man, I'm in northumberland England, I do landrovers, just found your channel, love the COEs nothing like that here apart from the old bedford RL I think it was? love the work guys!!!👍
Incredible truck. I would have loved to have that restored for a camper in my younger days... I seriously wouldn't rule out buying it now if it was for sale.
it’s always a bonus to have helpers with awesome stuff like this 🤗👍way back in time alls I had was myself and my radio n lots of beers to help me and my dozens of projects lol
It's too bad I watch these videos. Hoping to see something brought back to life and made useful again and instead is all I got was to watch a guy, spend a half hour, getting tire and wheel off and a really slow tow across the yard. It is too bad. That was a cool old truck. It caught my interest. I thought something good was going to happen 😔 we didn't even get to hear it run too bad
Fix that puppy up!!!! Would make an awesome car carrier for transport to n from events!😎👍🏼 Have to admit, I wanted to hand you my torque multiplier. Sure comes in handy with my 1947 GMC PD3751 Silversides Bus. (Left and right hand threads on wheels back in the day, so I always have to announce that to worker when getting new rubber.) Enjoyed watching! 😎👍🏼🧰🔧

I don't know what it is, but I really love watching someone work really hard on something really cool. Watching your stuff makes me want to work harder on my channel. Love it guys.
The thing I like about that truck is it's four doors and the original Mac bulldog hood ornament is still intact and on the hood you see those things get stolen off that's why rolls-royce's will drop the spirit of ecstasy into the grill if somebody tries to steal her
Love the Mack but let me address the comment about a carnivore diet. I’m a type 2 diabetic who has struggled with controlling it. A year ago I adopted a carnivore diet. My A1C went from 10 to 6.4. If you’re diabetic you know what a big deal that is. Arthritis went away, pain from inflammation went away, general energy and quality of life went up dramatically. It may not work for everyone but please, if you are type 2 diabetic, give carnivore a try. It has quite literally saved my life. And it’s tasty!
I see restorers here want one. There's a guy in the Oakland/Berkeley area has one and it looks a little better. Same color! Hagerty the Barn Finder could tell you about it. It appears and is pointed out by name as a 1945 Mack in one of his videos.
You need to buy bill a couple of beers for just getting the rear wheels off hell if he was in the UK I'd buy him them great looking truck bu the way cheers and cold beers
Does anyone know which company fabricated the cabs for this and other trucks of the day? I've seen Hollywood studio pics from the 30s/40s using crewcab trucks for lighting and set transport. Very cool style.
Thanks!
Beautiful MACK truck !!!!! Restore this baby Guys ~ 💪🏻🇺🇸💪🏻
I keep rewatching this video because this truck is soooo cool!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Memory lane! I'd see these Macks going up and down Route 110 on Long Island. That olive green (Bell Telephone) and telephone poles.
Yes the Bell trucks would tow a trailer with the poles and a red flag. Other times a flat bed like this would be carrying a huge cable spool. Still other times you'd see ones with a high toolbox back and pulling a trailer too. Potato farms turning into neighborhoods.
Então você e do tempo quê ô diabo era menino esses carros são antigos quem conviveu com esses caminhão e muito antigo😮.

You talking nonsense 🙄 😒 😴
Thanks you've answered my question. An early form of a dual cab
The framework he cut of the front bumper look like cradles for power poles or Gin poles. so your idea of line truck seems spot on.
Mack trucks never die they just smell that way !!
Outstanding looking truck, & Obtw Phil’s chair ranks high
What a cool old truck. Full crew cab. Must have been some of the first. Rare truck👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅✅✅✅✅

Nice. Mostly all there. Don't think I've ever seen one of these before. Going to make a great project.
Can't wait to hear what the Mack Museum says about her.
Rare bird. Damn shame it's going overseas.
More than a shame, it's Disgusting! This need to stay here!

Oh, man! That Mack is the cats meow!!!
I would gladly trade my ‘74 Pete COE for that.

Front of that truck reminded me of Jeepers Creepers 🤣
You can tell the men with the cut off tee shirt knows what he is doing. Not his first rodeo, for sure. Another great video.

Хорошая работа . Очень интересно . Я из России .
Great video. I like what your doing by breathing new life into old stuff. It's better than letting it rust away sitting. Keep Rocking and Trucking. 😁
Like what you are doing

What a beast! Well worth the effort.
I did some work on a Mack E-HUT. Looked the same but 2 door w/winch bed. I bet it wasn't 14' nose to tail.

"" How to tow and remove tyres on a 1945 MACK EFU ""
Just stumbled across your Chanel and love this build already can't wait to see what you do with it.
The employee every business needs.
I hope this employee gets paid per day. because by the hour it is going to bankrupt the business.
Wow grat job gays Nice truck i liket amor hello from costa rica
This was either a Bell System 5 man line truck or some power co. Obviously missing the body. The split winch drum makes me think Bell System.
look into a Petro-Gen Gasoline torch, cheaper to operate and much safer and faster
Owww Werry good😍
My buddy had a 40 something international 2 ton like that. 4 wheel drive and had a huge winch in the bed. Some jerk stole the headlights off of it.
wow very nice truck
Great Truck And Great Job !
That is one good looking truck.
May I suggest you get some tow chains and wrap it around that tire and use the skid steer to your to yank it off

Let's correct that. The Hagerty episode is no.16, from June, 2017. The owner of the Mack is Dwayne Bower in Ojai, CA.
