But what if he made megadeth anyway and still stayed in Metallica. Dave carried Megadeth on his back out of spite for metallica. I don't care what anyone says, Mustaine, Burton, Hetfield, Ulrich would have probably made a few more thrash albums instead of switching. Cliff was too technical for black album and beyond. But I also think they changed because they had too, because Burton and Mustaine were the thrash element more than James and Lars were. I hate to shit on Kirk because he is really is one of the best guitarists ever, but for what Metallica represented with speed and aggression Mustaine was the better fit. Listen to the songs he publicly gets credit for and you see he had a vision of what Metallica was supposed to play.
I was a bigger fan of Metallica when I was younger, and before I picked up a guitar, and now I'm a bigger fan of Megadeth after getting older and learning to play the guitar. I still love both of them. Two of my all time favorite bands.
Droideca88 No dude, Megadeth fans keep complaining about how Metallica fans are haters and ignorant although the only hate comments I’m finding here are from Megadeth’s fans. EDIT : I’m both a Metallica and Megadeth fan by the way.
+SepticSchizo955 Your metallica bias makes me laugh my ass out every video I see you LOL. Mustaine getting kicked out resulted in Peace Sells, Rust In Peace and Countdown to Extinction. Scott Ian : "Without Mustaine, there is no Metallica, without Mustaine there maybe is no thrash metal, at all".
Watchmojo: 'Metallica has more raw talent'. I'm guessing they don't know about the clown playing drums making trashcan sounds. The only better member ever was Cliff. Marty and Dave are waay better than Kirk. Metallica had only 3 good albums. Megadeth had 10
Once you go into Megadeth ..you never go back...proud to be a Megadeth fan for 30 years...they've got something very important that makes the difference : Dave Mustaine.
'80s Metallica = '80s Megadeth There is no better... both produced some of their best stuff during the 80s. Master of Puppets is one of my favourites of all time and I still get goosebumps listening to it... but the lyrics of something like Mary Jane, In my darkest hour, Hook in Mouth, Good Mourning/Black Friday... just blows Metallica's lyrics away. Plus Mary Jane and In My Darkest Hour also give me goosebumps still. Metallica edges it in terms of music - One, Sanitarium, Master of Puppets, Seek and Destroy, etc. But in terms of lyrics Megadeth wipes the floor with Metallica... and musically they are not that far behind... it is really very very close.
@@_Stevio_ I refuse to acknowledge that album. As far as I'm concerned, Metallica released nothing for 17 years. Black Album ---> Death Magnetic. Someone else borrowed their name for 3 albums.
Are you kidding me, mojo?!? I'm a big fan of Metallica, actually more than megadeth, but it's kinda clear that in terms of fast thrash, megadeth succeeds. Of course, though, Metallica's music will be more influential than megadeth for most people. Both have an equal place in metal, and are both awesome af.
Metallica is more influential than Megadeth but Megadeth is faster, and better than Metallica, I personally like Megadeth but Metallica is very good It's music, it's an opinion not a fact
They're both good. But I feel like the new metal fans discover metallica first, and they immediately fell in love. I get that I did so when I was younger. And years after I discovered Megadeth and I can't go back to listening to Metallica at all now.
Fun fact I actually discovered Megadeth first. I always knew of Metallica’s existence, but never really listened to them. At that point I saw Megadeth as my favorite band. One day i discovered Metallica kicked Dave Mustaine, in turn making Megadeth. It still blows my mind.
So true. Metallica vs Megadeth war is pathetic. We all need to unite against emo poser bands like Falling In Reverse, Asking Alexandria, Sleeping With Sirens, and Black Veil Brides.
As a young kid, I got a lot more exposure to Metallica's music than to Megadeth's music. My dad had all of Metallica's 80s albums and "The Black Album" and would play all of them really loud. I very much liked Metallica's music then. When my dad would allow me to choose a CD to listen to in the truck, I would often choose a Metallica one. "Master of Puppets" was one of my go-to CDs. Fast forward a few years, and I listen to a little album called "Rust In Peace" for the very first time. If Metallica's music impressed me, then "Rust In Peace" just made my jaw drop on the floor and stay there. I simply couldn't believe what I was hearing. The guitar solos were just from another planet. I had not heard anything like that up until that point. Hearing the "Tornado of Souls" solo for the first time was basically a life-changing moment for me. Now as an adult, there really is no comparison between Metallica and Megadeth to me. Metallica certainly has good songs, and I'm not going to say that they suck, because they definitely don't. It would also be ridiculous to say that "...And Justice For All" isn't a technical album, because it is. Metallica really showcased what they were capable of with that release. However, Megadeth is and has always been the much more technically talented band. "Blackened" is certainly technical; "The Frayed Ends of Ends of Sanity" and "Dyers Eve" are also technical. However, some of Megadeth's difficult songs such as "Looking Down The Cross," "Poison Was The Cure," "Lucretia," and "Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good" make those songs look amateurish by comparison. So, I definitely prefer Megadeth due to their superior technical skills. Dave Mustaine has such a twisted way of writing riffs that I just love.
SwartzeSonne666 The Fuuuckkk You be Smoking ...Mustaine was Significant Part of Metallica's Sound in thier Beginnings,The Sound that took them to the the Top of the Game, and it was thier best Music, And he also founded Megadeth.Metallica's Nemisis,The Only Band able to Rival Metallica in thier Heyday , Metallica may have the popular vote ,but when it Comes to Sheer Musical Talent and Drive... @@johnp82 Mustaine is a better guitarist than most other rock and metal guitarists. His fast technical skills are insane and his creation of the spider chord. James is not bad by any means but just because he can downpick fast does not make him better than Dave.
@@casetheace8494 I said Mustaine is not a better rhythm guitarist than James. And there are plenty on guitarists better than Mustaine. Marty Friedman is one of them. And I know James' downpicking speed doesn't make him better than Mustaine.

+Ser Kito no. there isnt, at least not this succesful metallica, becouse Mustaine wrote almost the whole Kill em all , amd also wrote songs from ride the lightning.
Bence Patyi according to every megadeth fan mustaine wrote kea til ajfa, and what do u mean successful? all of the metallicas album were successful, the last 5 debuten no. 1. and metallica is the only band who ever did this. And metallica sold over 110 m albums, and megadeth 50m... im not saying i don't like megadeth because i know megadeth fans get all butthurt about people having an own opinion. But lets be realistic here, metallica is more successful than megadeth and thats the way it will ever be.
I would have liked to see that too. I don't even really listen to Megadeth, but it would have been cool to see them win. I was expecting Metallica to win though. And it makes sense when you look at the popularity and how widespread they are. They may have changed their style, but when they did, they managed to introduce more people to their music, in turn helping people who aren't as into MoP as they are the Black Album, get into things like MoP or ...AJFA.
Is it just me or do Metallica and Megadeth not sound anything alike? I can distinguish one from the other within the first couple seconds without hearing the singing.
I mean there are some tracks that may be a bit fuzzy, like the first time I heard Orion (on Pandora) I thought it was Megadeth, and In My Darkest Hour can has a bit of a Metallica sound to it. But for the most part they can't really be compared, same with the rest of the big 4
every instrument in megadeth is completely different to metallica. the reason people compare the two is that dave made megadeth just to be better than metallica after he was kicked out
I've heard it said elsewhere.... Had Mustaine not been kicked out, we only would have had one great heavy metal band. Now we have two and should be happy about that, whether you're not a fan of one of them.

But Metallica has better songwriting, vocals, and equally as good if not better rhythm guitar and bass. Plus they are a much more organic band. Dave started Megadeth out of jealousy, and tried to find the best players he could, all for the sole purpose of trying to compete with Metallica. But he failed. Metallica posesses all of the intangible things that make a band better. So stop being a douchebag troll. And btw, Master Of Puppets is the greatest thrash record of all time.

True, that's why mainstream listens simple pop music and shitty catchy tunes. Because people like simple songs and melodies, not complex jazz-like melodies and changes in music. That's a fact. Even in Metal mainstream bands make simple songs and tunes and they are more popular.
Still doesn't explain why bands like Dream Theater and Opeth and countless other prog/tech bands write countless forgettable wank garbage, technical as it may be. Catchy and simple serves more of a purpose in music than playing a thousand notes an hour only to come across as a soulless lifeless robot. Not saying you didn't imply it, but here should definitely be a balance between the two.
IR WOULD BE LIKE EVERY BODY HANGING ON METAL, RNB POP WILL DISAPPEAR..AND EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD WILL BE MUSICIAN..... IT MEANS UR VIEW REALLY SUCKS...
If everything was prog, then there would be no difference because prog would be the new normal basic shit, and only super crazy prog would be considered good to people, and it would keep increasing till "good" music could no longer be performed by living beings because they would be too fucking hard. Prog metal is only considered technically amazing when compared to average everyday, simple music.
I just saw Megadeath live in 2022. I have to say the for a 60 year old man who got throat cancer recently, he still performs like a metal LEGEND and can still play the songs like it was the day he wrote them. The same can't be said for Metallica. If I could only listen to one for the rest of my life I'd pick Megadeth HANDS DOWN.
mrkremko1 ill have to disagree with u. Marty is insane. One of the best guitarists. But something about dave's playing makes him the best metal guitarist IMO.
Most Megadeth fan's don't understand the reason why Metallica were more popular is not because they "sold out" and I like both bands equally the main reason is not that Kirk and James are better guitarist it is that James Hetfield is way better songwriter than Mustaine and his lyrics communicate with more fans no one can dispute this..
That's really all there is to it. Ride/Master/Justice "crushes" (see what I did there) anything Megadeth did...As much as I do like Megadeth in its own right.
Metallica wrote the Black Album, transversed their music barrier from thrash to metal, and got your mom/grandmom/sister/dad to listen to the same band you do to widen their audience in order to make it big. That's all they really did, and even though it turned out to be successful, it still doesn't make them any better Megadeth. Just deal with the fact that some people can get away with saying Megadeth is better, that's just how it is.
That last part where she says: "If there was no Metallica there would be no Megadeth" ....bitch, dave still would've formed a band and pioneered thrash metal, probably a bit later but it was inevitable.I'm not trying to praise him but based on the facts it would've happened.
right! btw there would be no metallica if there was no Dave ;) He made them famous at the beginning and he also gave Kerry to Slayer. In fact he formed 3 bands of the big 4
Well, he wouldn't have created Megadeth, what basically made him persue his career so seriously was because he wanted to beat up Metallica's ass, showing that he didn't need them. That fuel would've never came if Dave wouldn't have been accepted in the first place, and lets face it.. Lars would've still made that ad and James would've still read it and Metallica would've still been created, Dave Mustaine wasn't the only natural talent in the band, anyone remember Cliff? He basically boosted up Metallica's works even more and made them even more unique and influential.
Actually.... If mustaine was not there metallica would have never formed..... 4 words, Mustaine wrote em' all , if kill em' all was never written by Mustaine metallica would've never had the boost to make it big. Also, most of the fuel that powered mustaine to create a band was because he wanted to get Metallica back because they kicked him out, so you're a little bit wrong there.
I used to listen Metallica and I knew megadeth but I never cared to listen to them because I didn't knew music back than...but everything changed with one track...sweating bullets...now I realised how mellow Metallica sounds..
I'm just gonna accept that watchmojo is biased like everyone else. I listened to Metallica probably ten years before I even knew what Megadeth sounded like despite hearing their name. I was so biased like every Metallica fan usually is. Once I heard Megadeth though, my favorite metal band changed right then and there, no contest. Metallica has left a bigger impact on metal and their classics are a lot more classic than Megadeth...But that's mainly due to the fact that again, people aren't willing to listen. Kirk has NEVER put out a solo like any Megadeth song, Dave, Marty, Chris, Kiko, anyone. He's never done it because he can't. Metallica's lyrics hit harder in terms of metal but they're never that clever or important, the same can't be said about Mega, where the lyrics are genius. Don't get me started on Lars. The only contest I'd say here is Dave vs James, in which case, as much as I love James, he loses. James would be sweating bullets trying to play the shit Dave plays WHILE singing. tl;dr, Metallica fans are biased and I'll let them be. If this list followed its own rules instead, Megadeth would have either tied or won.
Except there is an objective measure for talent and skill level, both of which belong to Megadeth. So if their lineup is being measured while lacking consistency they definitely had the better musicians. While Effelson is a very small step behind Cliff or Rob, Mustaine is objectively a better rhythm player than James and vocally while a bit more rough around the edges has better range and control over his voice. When you pair that with Marty Friedman or Chris Broderick (won't count Kiko since he wasn't in the band when this video came out) who are both substantially better lead guitar players than Kirk Hammett, Megadeth has a clear edge in the lineup battle.
i agree that dave has more control over his voice, but the vocal range has been gone since before 2010. also don’t forget chris p, another godlike guitarist that makes kirk look like a beginner!
Okay, you know what no. Soon as Metal cred came along, it should've been Megadeth's show from then on. Because Load, Reload, St. Anger, Death Magnetic, and Lulu were GARBAGE albums. They all had a couple good songs on them (aside from Lulu) but 5 terrible albums in a row, should make their "Metal Cred" at ZERO. Megadeth made a bad album too, Risk. But 1 against 5 is laughable. Far as line up goes, Marty Friedman, Chris Broderick, need I say more? Both those guys could play CIRCLES around Kirk. But, I love both bands. Its just I think Megadeth is better at what they do. Metallica was my first favorite band and probably always will be. But I'm not gonna defend the last 19 years of Metallica's career.
Tough to rate 5 albums horrible when you seem to have such a narrow minded taste in music, Load, Reload, Death Magnetic and Lulu(Instrumentally) were all great albums, whilst I can agree that St. Anger is for the most part hard to listen to, but the rest of the albums had their own style and if bands and artist wouldn't be experimenting with their sound we would basically have the musical capability of hitting a stone with a mediocre pacing. Condemning change in artist and bands in basically just killing their sound, not everyone can keep sounding the same without eventually just splitting up because they just plain hate performing the same thing all the time. Load and Reload where two great heavy metal albums, St. Anger was a decent passion filled experimental album and Death Magnetic was a great newschool-ish Thrash album Whilst Lulu without Lou Reeds horrible poetry was a good heavy metal album.
Jesper Uhlin Load and Reload....great albums???? BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA I can't comment on the later albums because I never listened to them, other than what was played on the radio.
stlchucko Yeah, In my opinion, you may not like 'em but that doesn't mean you have the right to ultimately label the albums as bad, shitty the worst etc etc. It's worthless to spout out crap about their later albums on a video that actually take an objective account of all of the albums, not just picking the thrash ones and saying that is the only that counts as metal (or counts as good albums for that matter). You have a biased view and they have an objective view, meaning you are not qualified to hand out the nominations on their accords.
Jesper Uhlin The same statements can be applied to your opinion as equally as mine. You may like them, but that doesn't mean your opinion grants them the overall quality of being great. It's equally worthless to spout out praises on a video that supposedly takes an "objective account of all the albums" (which for me to believe it's objective, I'll need evidence). You also have a biased view, meaning that you are also unqualified to hand out the nominations on their accord. That said, from what "objective point of view" is this being viewed from? Popularity? Musical? Influence? WatchMojo should have probably done a bit more fact checking. Metallica has nearly always been more popular, but Megadeth has been popular in it's own right. However, Metallica's music lost a lot of appeal with early fans *because* it became less "metal" and more mainstream rock; while Megadeth stuck to it's metal roots the entire time (other than the Risk album, which was appropriately titled). This is why that even WMojo stated that Metallica's best albums were prior to Load (which also lends credit to my previous comment); because they were more creative and in line with the band's namesake. You can't deny that Metallica has morphed into Rockica over the years. For influence, Mustaine had a massive influence on the way Heitfield played the guitar (still using some techniques to this day) before Metallica even recorded an album. A number of riffs and all the solos (other than Cliff's bass solo) on Kill em All were written by Mustaine. Mustaine also added a huge amount to their stage presence prior to Kill em All being recorded; gaining a lot of notoriety in the metal scene, which led to them getting a record deal. Kerry King (Slayer) was briefly in Megadeth in the early days. So Mustaine (Megadeth founder) was responsible for influencing the sound of 3 of the "Big 4" metal bands (Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax).
stlchucko One thing you state in this comment is extremely false, Metallica never went into a hard rock style, they went into a heavy metal style. Idk if you've heard hard rock but Load and Reload isn't really hard rock, wheter it be newschool hard rock or oldschool. But how much did Mustaine influence Kerry King? How many Mustaine riffs or solos have you heard in Slayer? I do agree that they have written stuff for Metallica and that influenced the bands start, but I don't think I've heard many Mustaine riffs in Slayer at all, a few are heard in the songs Dave wrote for Metallica but not so much after that. And by influence they meant the band themselves and not just Dave, Metallica influenced so many people by becomming so massively popular in the world (They were so popular in Sweden it was actually banned to name your child Metallica here). Metal cred they can get for all of their albums but Thrash cred can though only be given to Metallica for 5 albums, (and a few songs from the black album) but they didn't state Thrash cred here.
Because metallica has essentially 3 one-hit wonder songs like one, master of puppets, and enter sandman, that completely outranks megadeth with actually has a vast number of good songs as to where metallica has 3 listenable songs. Yeah, that makes perfect since... The logic of this video is fucking stupid lol
***** I started out as a huge Metallica fan but I have stuck with Megadeth over the years, but yeah I'm with you on that one. Half the songs on the black album went #1, thats not exactly one-hit wonders.
I love Metallica and Megadeth. But lets look at history. If mustaine didn't pick up a guitar, Metallica wouldn't exist, because Hetfeild copied his playing style. He influenced Slayer, Kerry King was one of the earlier guitarists for Megadeth. He created Megadeth. So really he influenced 3 out of the big 4. And all musicians in Megadeth were just 'better' musicians than Metallica. Chris Poland, Gar (the drummer), Nick Menza, Elifson, Friedman, all created great music and could shred and drum better than Metallica. Megadeth stayed mainly true to their musical style (not sure if thats a good thing or not). Megadeth wins, because no Mustaine, no Metallica.

But then again 5 Minutes Alone was a good track on the album, which features Chuck Berry on the acoustic synthesizer. #SethPutnam #Metal #MetalMusic #Thrash #ChuckBerry #DimebagDarrell #DingusDarrell #Pantera #RustInPeace
I love both bands but if we were to put down each album against each other it would look like this: Kill em All > Killing is my business... and business is Good! Ride the Lightning = Peace Sells... but Who`s Buying? Master of Puppets > So Far, so Good... So What! And Justice for All < Rust in Peace (this was a difficult one for me, since AJFA is my fave Met album but RIP is just perfection) The Black Album < Countdown to Extinction Load < Youthanasia Reload < Cryptic Writings St. Anger/Risk = 💩 > The World Needs a Hero Death Magnetic > The System has Failed < United Abominations = Endgame > Th1rt3en Hardwired... to Self-Destruct > Super Collider = Dystopia

Metallica just has that little something extra that is indescribable. Megadeth is great no doubt, but Metallica circa 83-89 is unbeatable. Good music isn't necessarily about complexity. They're the Rolling Stones of metal.
Megadeth and Metallica are both great bands, but you can ask even the biggest Metallica fanboy that knows his metal music, and even he will tell you that Metallica are the most overrated and most overhyped metal band ever. Plus, thanks to Metallica, now we have millions and millions of poser metalheads that only know like 4 of their songs (Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, Master Of Puppets and One). But still, that doesn't mean they're not good. As I said before, all 4 bands of the big 4 are amazing and everybody probably likes one of them more than the others for different reasons. Anthrax is funky in a fast kind of way, Metallica is just plain heavy. Megadeth mixes blazing speed with melody and Slayer just plain scares the shit out of everyone. What we need to do is unite and fight against the legions of Bieber fans, not against each other.
This jugdement is based on popularity, not talent. Metallica is more populare because their songs have more simple lyrics and are more catchy. And it's just become a cliche for many to say that Metallica is the best band, because it's much more famous... But Megadeth have more depth and they take ricks and are more unique.

'80s Metallica > '80s Megadeth
Post-'80s Megadeth > Post-'80s Metallica
'80s Metallica = '80s Megadeth
There is no better... both produced some of their best stuff during the 80s.
Of course the best thrash bands of the 80s were Anthrax, Slayer, Nuclear Assault and Testament.
Megadeth and Metallica were fighting for fifth spot.

Metallica is more influential than Megadeth but Megadeth is faster, and better than Metallica, I personally like Megadeth but Metallica is very good
It's music, it's an opinion not a fact
Metallica is influential because of Dave Mustaine and his riffs
They're both good. But I feel like the new metal fans discover metallica first, and they immediately fell in love. I get that I did so when I was younger. And years after I discovered Megadeth and I can't go back to listening to Metallica at all now.
Fun fact I actually discovered Megadeth first. I always knew of Metallica’s existence, but never really listened to them. At that point I saw Megadeth as my favorite band. One day i discovered Metallica kicked Dave Mustaine, in turn making Megadeth. It still blows my mind.
Guess you’ve never heard “Fight Fire With Fire”?
I still like Megadeth better.
Megadeth is waaaay better!!!!! Dave can play circles around metallica! but....god bless cliff burton!

@@adamsakran8708 correct rust in piece is just too good
As a young kid, I got a lot more exposure to Metallica's music than to Megadeth's music.

Metaphoria You forgot about Rust In Piece or something?
Megadeth has an album called Risk. The WORST album from either band. It has disco songs on it...

No Metallica brought Dave into the spotlight

Gwyn's Last Knight you are totally right
Gwyn's Last Knight just because they think a different band is better doesn't mean they're biased
That was me dude. I still like Metallica, just not as much
Okay, you know what no.
Anger was a decent passion filled experimental album and Death Magnetic was a great newschool-ish Thrash album
Whilst Lulu without Lou Reeds horrible poetry was a good heavy metal album.
Jesper Uhlin Load and Reload....great albums????
BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA
I can't comment on the later albums because I never listened to them, other than what was played on the radio.
stlchucko Yeah, In my opinion, you may not like 'em but that doesn't mean you have the right to ultimately label the albums as bad, shitty the worst etc etc.
Oh and thanks for giving Megadeth credit for hit the lights and enter sandman. I didn't know Dave wrote those til now
Dave didn't write enter sandman.
6:46 I didn't know that Enter Sandman was by Megadeth
Because metallica has essentially 3 one-hit wonder songs like one, master of puppets, and enter sandman, that completely outranks megadeth with actually has a vast number of good songs as to where metallica has 3 listenable songs. Yeah, that makes perfect since... The logic of this video is fucking stupid lol
Yeah dude you're not gonna win that argument.
***** I started out as a huge Metallica fan but I have stuck with Megadeth over the years, but yeah I'm with you on that one. Half the songs on the black album went #1, thats not exactly one-hit wonders.
***** and "one"
*****
***** wiplash and harvester of sorrow not realy i would go with motorbreath and werever i may roam
I completley aggre man 100%
Your wrong. James inspired Dave and if it weren't for Metallica being such a amazing band then no one would of really cared to play in Megadeth.
They wouldnt have stated off with out dave
John Walhan youve got it the wrong way round dave inspired james and dave brought alot of techniques to metalica which james still uses
Exactually
Love both, but Megadeth kind of wins in all catagories
IKR BRO
you’re*
Yater Eeyater shut up dude lars ulrich is not better than nick menza your the stupid one would you kick someone out of of your own band glad they kicked him out because he has created one of the best bands ever get you facts straight yater= stupid name
Pixel Donkey 2005 dude just shut up both bands are good
metallica the In ALL categories?? No. Just no. Dave's live vocals are horrible. Metallica wins vocals and live performances any day.
Anyone else noticed that every single watchmojo verses video category is biased to one side?
metallica is more popular but megadeth is better!
***** I agree...
no
They're both amazing bands with tons of kickass songs! Just listen to both and enjoy it.
I Grew Up Listening To Metallica Until My Dad Introduce Me To Megadeth Back When It Was My Birthday.Ever Since That Happen Megadeth Will Always Be My All Time Favorite!
Slayer: AM I A JOKE TO YOU???
Hurri Kane YES ITS ALL ABOUT KERRY KING FUCKING SLAYER APANDHDJNEJDJDJD
Megadeth and Metallica are leagues better than Metallica
Yes, yes you are
Ummm
Yeah
Without Dave Mustaine, there would probably be no Metallica, and without Metallica there would be no Megadeth?
true
If you wanna be technical, without Lars, there'd be no Metallica. Because he's the one who put out the ad in the newspaper that started it all.
NorwegianWashingLady ...and without Music, there would be no Metallica or Megadeth..
AwesomeJake103 fair enough, but without dave, metallica wouldve been a garage band that never lifted off into the local scene
chazm00 and with out metallica, dave would still be a druggie
Megadeth is better!
I also like Metallica but only the stuff until the black album.
*says every Metallica fan
what?
What you mean?
Is that supost to be a complement or a insult?
I think it's not a bad thing what you said, it's just to confirm.
Finally someone who says they prefer the old stuff rather than spewing out that they hate everything they did after the Black album, and I think he was insulting both you and me by saying that Metallica fans only ever like the old stuff, which is so fucking untrue.
Yeah I don't like The Black Album.
Megadeth easily wins. Metallica turned to shit after And Justice. Pretty unfortunate with how good their 80's stuff was.
I just wish Megadeth and Metallica fans would get along
let's remember who wrote the biggest hits on metallica's first album....it was Dave Mustaine
Seek And Destroy wasn't written by Mustaine, and Mechanix on Megadeth's first album wasn't even a hit. LOL
Dave Mustaine just written 6 songs for fucks sake. And 4 of them is co-written.
Biggest hits? Seek and destroy, jump in the fire, whiplash, none of those were written by mustaine
Or we could just put Maiden as the winner and call it good
Jay Hatcher Diamond Head is the winner, they influenced both bands.
Nah black sabbath
Iron Maiden is honestly the best
Edward Egan Iron Maiden are GREAT don't get me wrong, but they don't do thrash metal.
James is a better Rith guitarist.
Mustaine way better at lead.
Every lead and drummer from Megadeth kicks metallicas ass.
But James is a better Vocalist.
Metallica the better bassists.
So...
Singer: Metallica
Rith Guitarist: Metallica
Lead Guitarists: Megadeth (including Dave)
Bassist: Metallica (dont get me wrong I worship dave ellefson)
Drummer: Megadeth
Technical: Megadeth
So 3:3
Why dont love both?
Mysterious X I prefer Lars than most of Megadeth’s drummers
Mr. 100BitchSlaps how stupid are u. Gar was a jazz drummer. Lars doesnt even know what jazz is.
Love both but Lars is a way better (just nor faster) drummer than Megadeth's and Kirk actually knows music unlike Marty, who just shreds
Lothar Mallea Load is a blues and hard rock album. Obviously Lars knows Jazz
Lol, that's too funny. Kirk's guitar solos barely evoke true emotion, and most of the time it's nothing, but wah peddles, granted he's still an amazing guitar player. Calling, Marty just a shredder is an insult to his skill, and legacy.
Both are the best we have in Thrash Metal. Love both
So peace sells doesn't get mentioned?
Wait but megadeth has more talented and more skillful members...
Your point?
But Metallica doesn't change members every 5 years...
@@lclccl could you imagine if Marty Friedman and Nick Menza would still play for Megadeth? That would be sick. But rip Nick and Marty is doing his own thing....
Debatable, also why can’t everyone just say that they’re both fucking awesome
@@222MovieMan well, heaven (maybe hell) will have a great band. We have Cliff Burton, Nick Menza, and Eddie Van Halen up there. Just need a lead singer/rhythm guitarist
James Hetfield is the biggest difference in my opinion between the two bands, which gives Metallica the Edge.
They are both my very favorite bands. Never can make an assumption into whose better. No matter whose playing I still gotta headbang and thrash out like a fucking animal.
Metallica Fans: 75% Defending Metallica, 25% Megadeth SUCKS
Megadeth Fans: 50% Defending Megadeth (mostly saying Dave is better then Metallica’s entire members ever) 50% Metallica SUCKS!
People saying “can’t we like both”: 10%
You forgot the Megadeth fans who saying Kill 'em all was written by Dave
Rust In Peace made Metallica quit thrash.
Death Magnetic and Hardwired
The Phantom Lord he said thrash not trash
Kool kids Klan What about Spit Out The Bone?
The Phantom Lord ok spit out the bone was pretty sweet I’ll give you that, I actually like both bands but I saw the opportunity to make that joke and couldn’t turn it down...
well played on that on lol
Megadeth fans came here just to bash metallica.
Blaze9 Web Casting really? check the comments again
Uh, yeah. They do that on every video in case you haven't noticed
Rattle head i check the comments and the only thing i see is people saying "megadeth>>>>Metallica" "Megadeth rape Metallica" "All good Metallica songs are that Mustaine wrote" and i can continue much more.... and this isn't the only video in that megadeth suck cockers do that, in every video that appears metallica are that megadeth fans... i love megadeth and no need to hate metallica, i love two bands
The fanboys of dave drugstaine. Because megacocaine is the most overrated band in the word. Drugstaine sings like a grampa hahahaha.
def osod nga plz
METALLICA OUR MEGADETH?
I: IRON MAIDEN!!!
iron fucking maiden rules
Dickenson is a fn beast!
i love both bands and love every single band member equally cause they're both fucking amazing in their own ways
"Their brand of heavy metal swerves all over the road" Too soon, man...too soon...
Omg XD
It’s been like 32 years...
Megadeth forever
METALLICA AND SLAYER FOR EVER!😈💪🤘
Both bands have been dicey. They each had three great albums that killed it. Any honest metal fan knows both of these bands started to manufacture music after a certain point. When they started, music exploded from them. And they were awesome.
This channel is beyond biased
R.I.P Seth Putnam. Lead electric ukeleleist of Slayer. He died of an autism accident after he released the album Rust in Peace. Which was a great progressive post-glam blackened speed cyberfolkgrind polkadeath with mariachicore influence album in 1957. My favorite track on it was Master of Puppets with Dingus Darrell from Anthrax on drums.
Holy shit you just made my night
Sounds like something Karpizzle would say, if you know who that is.
Josh Music Reviews I do, actually.
"cyberfolkgrind polkadeath" - i would like to hear that.
Also, "acoustic synthesizer", haha.
So glad I stumbled upon this.
I didn't realise that Hit the Lights and Enter Sandman are Megadeth songs, WatchMojo.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Fail on their part.
The only thing I know is that Megadeth >>> Metallica (1990-today)
I love both bands but if we were to put down each album against each other it would look like this:
Kill em All > Killing is my business... and business is Good!
Ride the Lightning = Peace Sells... but Who`s Buying?
Master of Puppets > So Far, so Good... So What!
And Justice for All < Rust in Peace (this was a difficult one for me, since AJFA is my fave Met album but RIP is just perfection)
The Black Album < Countdown to Extinction
Load < Youthanasia
Reload < Cryptic Writings
St. Anger/Risk = 💩
> The World Needs a Hero
Death Magnetic > The System has Failed
< United Abominations
= Endgame
> Th1rt3en
Hardwired... to Self-Destruct > Super Collider
= Dystopia
Metallica's best was best than the best of Megadeth? Megadeth's Rust in Peace is often considered one of (if not THE) best metal album of all time in polls of public, critics, and fellow musicians.
Master Of Puppets is the best album of Thrash Metal is considered by the most fans of the Thrash Metal
Valen Lloret Thats not accurate, some lists put Masters in number one spot other put Rust in Peace. I think as far as Thrash albums go that Rust in Peace is the better thrash album even though I love them both.
For me,everyone say that Rust In Peace is the BEST album ever, but they only know Rust In Peace...Polaris,Holy Wars...The Punishment Due and Hangar 18.
For me is on my top 10 best Thrash Metal albums in the history ever!
I love the entire album. Its amazing. I like listening to it all while playing Skyrim.
Lol. I love listening to megadeth while gaming! Metallica, dire straights, slayer, acdc, queen, judas priest, iron maiden, and even fucking more. Cant get enough while gaming, though i stay with the more aggressive megadeth and slayer cause i feel like kicking some ass.
Watchmojo is completely fucking clueless.
both are winning bands and I am happy to hear them because they are still active and kicking...
bizarre list
I love both ok?
When someone asks "Who's better, Metallica or Megadeth?" you first need to ask, Metallica from 1983 to 1989 or the "new" Metallica?
IVAN3DX I couldn't say it better!
This jugdement is based on popularity, not talent.
Metallica is more populare because their songs have more simple lyrics and are more catchy.
And it's just become a cliche for many to say that Metallica is the best band, because it's much more famous...
But Megadeth have more depth and they take ricks and are more unique.
Simple lyrics, Really, i bet the only song know from metallica is enter sandman.
Lord Elmo Metallicas songs are not as deep, Yes, some are. But not compared to Megadeth
+Helena Jes Starzak
The Four Horsemen VS Mechanix?
One is about apocalypse, one is about having sex in a motor pool.
+Lord Elmo "suicide I already died." Aren't really good lyrics
Ahem , you forgot that the best metallica album , and justice for all, come at me bro and tell me what's wrong with that album, and try to diss kirk's solo from one
whats the megadeth song at 3.40?
Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Pantera, Sepultura (both old and new), Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, and Tankard are all amazing bands!!! 🤘
& Avenged Sevenfold
House of Wolves lmfao a7x is kiddy trash
