    After 142 days of strictly following the carnivore diet, I've hit a roadblock - excessive hair shedding and thinning. In this video, I'll quickly recap why I started this meat-based diet before delving into the details of my hair loss concerns. We'll explore possible causes, and whether this is a common issue among long-term carnivore dieters.

    Two things I do while going keto, carnivore is number 1.) I stop all blood work testing, and stay clear from my doctor. 2.) I always make sure that I take supplements ensuring I get all my vitamins and minerals. I'm going to suggest that hair loss during diets comes from an imbalance or lack of nutrient or nutrients missing.

      I actually haven't gone to the doctor in over a year now, so I really just want to go so I can get follow up blood work. I think it's something I am missing too, which is why I would like to get testing on my vitamin levels.

      No offense, but if you know anything about the carnivore diet, you’re getting all your vitamins and minerals in the red meat alone you don’t know what you’re talking about about yeah you still need to take your vitamins and stuff, but still you get all your nutrients in the meat you eat actually listen to doctors that know what they’re talking about. Don’t take it on your own accord to think you know what what you’re talking about.

      @@Paul-ng4jx You just said 'you still need to take your vitamins and stuff' which means if you are taking supplements you are not getting all the vitamins you may need through meat alone. I personally don't take any extra supplements which is why I am wondering if maybe I am lacking a certain vitamin in my body that I need to take more of. And yes you get a lot of vitamins through meat and a lot of people don't need to supplement (I never said you didn't), but there is no one-size-fits all diet, and not everyone is the same. I also explain in my videos that this is based only on my journey, I am not giving advice but just trying to figure out my own body and what's going on with ME.

    I just watched a video by Jason Fung about fructose being the worst sugar you could possibly eat. I also watched a video by Max German explaining why honey (bee vomit he calls it) is not worth eating either and has some bad stuff in it. Honey is probably best used as dressing to heal wounds.

    • @kristinnicolecarrera
      @kristinnicolecarrera  3 місяці тому

      I have heard these things too. In my opinion fruit is definitely not the worst sugar someone can eat. Eating refined sugars and high-fructose corn syrup are far worse. As for the honey, I think some people do well with with it and some not so much. Raw honey offers benefits like antimicrobial properties, antioxidants, and potential allergy relief.

    I've been carnivore for almost 3 years. Several months ago I began adding iodine to my diet to help with my thyroid. I was able to decrease my thyroid meds as a result. Hooray! But what I didn't realize was you can also get hair loss from too much thyroid hormone. When my thyroid began working better, my thyroid medication needed to be lowered. Until that happened, I lost lots of hair. It was scary.

    carnivore for 11 months, lost 90 lbs in about 7 months and been holding steady. wife did it for 2 months before a wedding and lost 20 lbs. she had some hair thinning. research showed me it was probably a reaction to the drastic change and quick weight loss. shes a carnivore with desert these days, as i cook she eats the meat, but also eats dessert. her hair started regrowing after about 3-4 months. If you are still losing weight my guess is its just part of your body adjusting. if you are stable maybe you need to up your calories??? im not really sure. after my wife lost her weight and stabilized her hair started to regrow. I forget what the process was called, but basically your body will stop growing new hair for a period of time after a major shock, such as losing weight fast, but once youre body is stable it should reverse. course im just a random dude on the internet who eats a lot of meat :). i know my hair has not started to regrow but i was balding well before carnivore

    Carnivores don't eat sugar which is highly inflammatory, whether it be regurgitated pollen known as honey or whether it be fructose in high sugar fruits. Carnivores don't eat plants which is what fruits are so it's not surprising you are not healing properly. As for hair thinning, it's something to be expected when changing too fast to carnivore or keto from a high carb diet and the hair keeps falling out for months, three to six months usually and then it takes more than a year to grow back to normal. My hair has been falling out since January and it's so thin now that I don't go out unless I'm wearing a wig or a wide head band as a colourful accessory to my outfit. Good luck and I hope you drop the sugar foods. If carnivore food only is too much to stomach, it would be better if you included some low carb vegetables in small amounts because of the lectin and oxalate content instead of honey and fructose..

      Hi, yes I know carnivore don’t eat fruit and raw honey 😆 if you’ve seen my previous videos I talk about trying to go more animal based which is why I reintroduced fruits and raw honey. I don’t do good with vegetables. My hair actually starting growing after a month of carnivore and then started falling out again. It could be just the natural shedding stage or something else that’s going on.

    Hair loss is response to a trauma (weight loss is considered a trauma to the body) that has usually happened about 3 months prior. Definitely get your bloodwork done, but it should stop soon! The trolls that say your carnivore diet makes you deficient, ignore. I’m sad they haven’t made the effort to research it nor the experience of trying it. Good luck to you!!

    I'm not sure what you think the carnivore diet is but it's not what your on. On carnivore you eat Beef, Butter, bacon and eggs (simplified). Defiantly no fruit or honey. A keto diet is much easier and you eat LOW carbs (Get a carb counting book) that could include some of the things that you mentioned. Everything that you need to know is on Dr. Ken Berries website: www.youtube.com/@KenDBerryMD (including hair loss) Also you are HIGHLY addicted to sugar you need to address that also, also on his website.

      Have you read the book by Dr. Shawn baker? “Foods allowed on the carnivore diet
      Organ meats
      Poultry
      Fish
      Meat
      Eggs
      Lard
      Bone marrow
      Butter
      Salt and pepper
      Some only eat red meat, butter and salt but that’s not ideal for everyone.
      Also if you’ve seen my other videos I talk about reintroducing going more animal based to see if any of those foods work for me.

      @@Pete4875 😂😂😂 you can enjoy foods without being addicted to them. Adding the fruits was me trying to see if I can go more animal based, I actually talk about not being a person who loves to eat fruit everyday but I was reintroducing so that’s why I did it this way. My carnivore pancakes are cottage cheese and eggs so they are “carnivore” and the raw honey is animal based. And this is not something I eat everyday.
      My goal here is to see what works for me. What works for me may not work for you. Some people thrive better off animal based like Paul Saladino, some better on carnivore and some like you on keto 😅

    Human's aren't carnivores.
    Look at the great apes - none of them are carnivores. (yes chimps eat some meat, but they are not carnivores)
    What in the name of taxonomy makes people believe we are carnivores?

    • @melissajanaemiddleton6811
      @melissajanaemiddleton6811 3 місяці тому +4

      When it comes to digestion, we have very little in common with the great apes. They have a very long cecum in which their bodies ferment the vast amounts of fiber that they consume, and their gut microbes convert those fibers into short chain fatty acids.... fat. That's where they get their energy from, that fat. They have to eat all day long, every day in order to get enough energy from their food. We no longer have a cecum... the appendix is the residual organ from that long-ago time when we did. Our stomach acid is extremely strong, like that of any obligate carnivore. We do, of course, possess the ability to break down sugars and starches thanks to the amylase enzyme, so that we didn't starve when the hunt didn't go well. During those times we could subsist on fibrous roots and the occasional berry, etc. But fatty meat was our primary food in most areas of the world, for hundreds of thousands of years! Research has been done on the marrow from the long bones of our ancestors, and the DNA analysis shows that what we ate was predominantly animal foods. When the advent of agriculture came in, which was at the same point in time that the mega-fauna died off and we had less abundant access to wooly mammoths and the like, the health of humans suffered: brains became smaller, stature shortened, jaw structure became inferior and thus the teeth suffered. The pelvic structure of females became smaller, and the birthing process became more difficult. I could go on and on.... suffice it to say that there is a LOT of scientific evidence that we evolved to become obligate carnivores, and were a very successful race as a result...

    • @leemanwrong
      @leemanwrong 3 місяці тому +3

      Science shows us that we’re highly carnivorous. Stable isotope analysis on the bones of our ancestors shows our species has predominantly eaten meat for hundreds of thousands of years. Our low stomach ph and digestive system are also ideal for digesting meat.

      I think so many variables with hair loss. The hair falling out now has died 90 days ago, so whatever stress happened then might have contributed. I have had periods of hair loss with keto for 7 years and also 90 days after carnivore. My labs are good including my nutrient testing (without supplementation) I see a naturopath and take a little T3 and iodine. For me, I am focused on creating a good scalp environment to welcome my new hair to grow in (and try not to stress about it!) Some things I am doing are keeping my protein up near 100g /day, high fat carnivore, brushing my scalp for 2 min daily to get all the dead hair out, using a high frequency wand a few times a week, putting my red light mask on my head for 20 min a day, using rosemary oil mixed with castor oil on my scalp the day before wash (I only wash 2x per week). Also I recently started colostrum again.
      Just wanted to share these things I am doing maybe one or more of these might help!
      Because hairless can be so stressful, I tend to attack it with every tool and then I always see results.
      Also I am 56 yrs old and take small amounts of HRT.
