hhhmmm, how come no one is noticing at the start of the video, when halbrand speaks to her , he isnt seeking her face or trying to look at her eyes or face in any way possible? he JUST LOOKS AT HER pulling ropes in that dress of hers from where he is sitting with a smirk on his face.....does anybody get me?

When Charlie Vickers played this scene, he had no idea yet that he was Sauron.
And yet there are still clues all over the dialogue. 'Why make yourself part of the larger target?' That's what Sauron did - he cut loose from Morgoth when he realised they were going to lose.
There's a heck of a lot more thought gone into this script than many realise.
I just read your comment here (lol after 4 months) and yeah thanks for your insight. I think this scene is truly of my favorites to revisit after the reveal.
Yeah "Murder orcs".....murder is not a word the free peoples would generally use for the killing of orcs lol. It is a word that tends to be used by those who oppose it.

The reason evil always blinds the supposed good people is their pride. The Jedi were blinded by their pride and could not see the Sith. Same with Galadriel and the other elf leaders. They were all of them deceived. By their pride they fell. Too blinded for the quest for power. While their intent was to use the power for good, it is something that will always corrupt.
The producers intentionally made Charlie Vickers (Halbrand) have a slight resemblance to Aragorn in the Jackson LOTR trilogy to make viewers subconsciously like him more. As many point out, a lot of thought was put into certain details, but it wasn't enough to redeem the flaws of the show.
Im waiting for season 2 since they are focusing on Sauron now.
And aragorn looks like Jesus etc it's all based on the hero saviour Archtype but sauron is more like Lucifer the fallen hero
I do like the fact it makes him basically like evil Aragorn - someone who didn’t choose goodness in his heart when he could’ve been a wise leader

🤣 even a fallen angel can be allured by the regal Galadriel. Why do you want her to stand close and focus on you so soon? Manipulation, of course. Clearly she is alluring to all species of Middle Earth in the series. But basically telling a stranger that you don’t bite isn’t the best way to gain trust lol he wanted her attention for many reasons clearly. Even when he got mad at the guildsmen in Numenor for mentioning Galadriel’s breeding preferences, he truly got upset.

The only thing worth noticing in this scene is that Galadriel’s white robe is pretty transparent.

Yeah Im rewatching all their interactions for “clues” 😂 I havent seen this scene uploaded yet so here we are. I had the idea to compile all the raft scenes but Amazon is hitting me with copyright so I need to break it apart. And also some scenes are already uploaded anyway.
I think this scene when Galadriel says she knows the pain he carries and there is a super long focus on Saubrand, how do you guys read that? It starts at 1:30.
Clues? They basically slapped you in the face with Captain Totally-Not-Sauron since the first time he came on screen. It was the worst mystery box ever. The only real mystery was how could anyone not know?
@@Maniac742 I meant rewatching it again to see how he absolutely manipulated her. I already sense that he is indeed Sauron (but left 1% room for doubt until the finale😛) but rewatching it again to see how he absolutely toyed with her is veryyyy interesting. I know there are in your face moments but the clues I meant is how he played along just to give Galadriel the sense she is way more superior than him so he can deceive her. Him telling half truths to Galadriel is a classic manipulation move.
@@Maniac742 But only if you know the story. Yes, a lot of people realized he was Sauron...because they were looking for him and knew what to look for.
It would be a bit like watching the "La Bamba" movie about the life of rock star Richie Valens and being shocked that he died in a plane accident at the end. You know he died in a plane accident going into the movie.
You know it is Sauron or at least expect it to be Sauron because you know what to look for.
There are people who watched the show with no background information on Sauron, Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion or any of Tolkien's works who where shocked and surprised at the reveal.
@@gaebren9021 No, not really. The writers treated Totally-Not-Sauron completely different from every other male character on the show. He was well spoken. Galadriel trusted him. He was competent. He was strong. He was smart. He was basically the only male on the show who wasn't a complete bumbling fool. They didn't make any effort to mix him into the background. He stood out like a sore thumb.

I read there was meant to be backstory for him coming in season 2 but i guess since they wanted to try hide his ID from at least some people in season 1, they couldn't really do that then.

If you look at the conversation from 0.27 through to 0.50, imagine rather than being on a raft they are in his tower and he is interrogating her as to why she is there or has been caught there. That is the tone of his questioning.
Also some more manipulation from him. He says "You don't have the look of someone that has things happen to them by accident." it is like an appeal (albeit subtilty) to her ego. You are not like the other's who were eaten. You are special. It is implying that 'you are different' from the other common people. Or, "you are not someone who would LET things happen to them." Appealing to her pride and ego.
astute observation! he's always praying at people's weaknesses and a big one of Galadriel's is her pride

Whats funny is the showrunners caught onto this and made elrond the audience self insert who constantly calls her out. Of course she faces no consquences for her actions. Re: your 1 billion dollar comment, I have a theory Amazon low balled their actors and actresses so the money clearly didnt go to them which is sad. This is the reason why their names arent in the opening credits and it is all production people. I mean I feel sorry for the actors because they are the ones taking all the hits and becoming a shield on Amazon’s vanity project. Even low budget Hallmark series will have their actors and actresses names in the opening credits. I really dont know where the money went so yeah🤷🏻♀️

0.31 "Separated from you ship...You are running" comment. "You are running! whether from something or towards something I haven't yet decided." The, I haven't yet decided, comment should have been the big giveaway.
To me, the, "I haven't yet decided" comment is something that I don't usually hear in day to day conversation. Particularly in regards to other's motivations, said out loud, to their face.
I mean, you might think this, but saying this statement is a little obnoxious.
The, "I haven't yet decided" comment is something I can imagine a king saying. Or a person in power saying to someone else that they view as inferior.
So, she is annoyed, but she is not sure why. This is where she gets defensive. It would be best to just keep pulling on the rope and keeping quiet rather than reacting and letting him think what he likes. But she reacts by defending her actions. Bad move! She is now explaining herself in defense of that initial comment he made.
And now he is pumping her for information without giving too much away about himself.
This is such an interesting take! And yeah, your last point is definitely true. Galadriel was the one who divulged all the info while he was just out there trying to get all the info he can find.
