First time I smoked marijuana it did open a gateway... To my parent's fridge. However alcohol introduced me to cocaine further down the road. I am 6 years sober from alcohol and marijuana has never made me feel as shitty as I did then.
Legalize it! This is ridiculous… this has helped seizure patients like myself immensely. Stop preventing others from being able to legally help themselves and stay safe. One year seizure free.. for the past 10 years I couldn’t even beat 6 months. Ever since I’ve been smoking I’ve been doing fantastic!

I've been using this gateway drug for 15 years and haven't needed to move on to anything else.
I've been smoking cannabis for 49 years. It did lead to other drugs and it led back to cannabis because that's the only drug I use besides nicotine

I never even tried marijuana until 5 years ago at the age of 40, when it was prescribed for pain and anxiety. It has been a gateway to being able to eat, sleep, and move around way more.
But you can legally go to a bar drink 12 beers have 6 shots, get in your car and drive home drunk af, as long as u don’t get pulled over ur good to go, but u can’t work a 12 hour shift, drive home stop at burger king pick up a large number 6 meal, go home roll a phat ass blunt and put on a good movie and eat after you take that blunt to the head, go to sleep wake up the next morning and go to work get piss tested and bam no more job, but you can go to the bar every night when you get off and that’s perfectly legal. SMH

Well I started with harder drugs at age 11. Pills mostly and acid. Been smoking weed since then as well. 54 now and still smoking weed, but nothing else in years. I don't even drink alcohol anymore.

@@johnlux6635 I don't think so. At the least it would be a step in the right direction and towards that. I don't work for the government, but I am prohibited from using cannabis. As I understand it, the federal government's prohibition of cannabis effects insurance rules which effects me. I can't use it, but I would like to. Recreationally, as well as for pain at times.
The sad thing is even legalizing marijuana on a federal level is Republican controlled states can still choose to enforce prohibition in their states the only upside to that is the federal government could without federal funding money to those states if they resist the federal law and the voters would soon see taxes increase in those states to enforce prohibition before they decide enough is enough.

The real reason pot was considered a “gateway drug” back when it was completely illegal was because the only people who sold pot also sold other harder drugs and when the dealers ran out of pot they would offer other drugs to users.

Tennessee is missing out on some serious tourism dollars. 40 years ago we were ranked second only to California in terms of cannabis production. Clear blue skies and the low humidity of October in Tennessee is perfect for making fat buds.

Literally making pot legal in California was the greatest thing ever not because we can smoke but because it puts money back into our poor communities it allows the poor cities to grow and build infrastructure for themselves rebuild their roads and many things yes we're allowed to smoke pot but the big thing here is that it helps communities it puts money back into the economy where it needs to be
it is so much better than alcohol, as a recovering heavy alcohol user its not worth it but weed so is. I know some heavy weed users like my older brother who have been doing it for over 20 years daily and have not tried other drugs. i've been doing it for 3 years and its helping me get over the alcohol too.

My wife has fibromyalgia, it’s a bad muscle disease that shuts her down some days. She has gone through the gauntlet of pills all the doctors want her to take, nothing helps. I recently purchased some gummies that are 50/50 thc and cbd. It’s been a game changer for her, she sleeps all night and feels great the next day. Since marijuana is legal in my state I decided to start growing some plants just so I can make homemade gummies for her. She is completely pill free happy and healthy again.

Republicans only want marijuana to remain illegal because they have been using the ban ever since it was enacted to put more black people and "hippies" in jail for having it. Basically just to hurt their political opponents, people who are more likely to vote Democrat. There is also the fact that the Republican party has been tied to the extreme religious right for so long, which has always wanted to ban substances for religious reasons. That may not be as big of a priority to them these days, but decriminalizing weed also means letting al those people out of jail who were only put in jail because of it. And most of them are black and/or liberal people, so of course Republicans don't want them being freed back into society, no matter how unjust it was for them to be incarcerated over weed.
The republicans started out at the limited government party. Then tried to be the moral party but didn't actually have any values, or backbones in the case of Ted Cruz. Now they just call democrats on any mistake with 20/20 hindsight with no plan to actually fix anything. Just wait, about 10 years from now we'll be back to prohibition if they think it will win them a modicum of power cause they're basically the evangelical party at this point.

Crazy to think that they will let you smoke as many cigarettes as you want but you can’t smoke a joint. You can go to a bar, store or anywhere that sells alcohol and drink until you throw up, sing and dance, scream and yell and get into fights but you can’t smoke a joint that will likely result in a person engaging in a thought provoking conversation, listening and analysis of music and maybe engage in snack consumption. 😆 I even know folks that partake and it actually makes them work harder, says it calms them and helps them focus. The problem is there are old ass political figures that were probably standing next to Nancy Reagan chanting just say no that needs to be relieved of their positions because of their old ass ideology.

A drug is something that is manufatured or made, drugs are a natural chemical and biological substances that has gone through an extensive chemical refinement proccess to make it more or less than it naturally was before the proccess. Marijuana is a herb like tea it doesn't need chemical nor biological refinement to cause "altered preceptions" because it grows naturally that way like some "shrooms", marijuana isn't like the poppy plant used to make opiods like "oxi" or "opium" and it's like. Holistically marijuana can help with anxiety and depression, and as a dietary supplement for those who lose their appetite; the possibilities are endless but you already knew this. Just avoid the term "drug" because in certain context it can and will be used as a stigma to justify regulations and or legality, we all use drugs of some kind in America which are simply refined chemical and biological substances meant to cause a natural chemical and biological reactions in the body like refined sugar and endorphins.

Technically it is illegal in all 50 states according to federal law. If they really wanted, the feds can come to your state right now, seize and destroy all cannibis crops, and have people arrested. Although the state will likely let the person go, the crop and potential money are all seized and destroyed at this point. In fact, look up a show called "Pot Cops", where the feds go into California and Colorado, and do exactly that! So, yea. But that will change soon, I've seen the future... Keep looking up!

I’ve been using it for 4 years now on and off with no withdraws and no need for any other drug not to mention legal or not I have access to it. The only difference is I have to buy it from a random person rather then buying it from a dispensary and having it taxed, which for the record I’d rather do considering I’ll be giving money back to my state and ensures good clean quality product.
