As a defense of the mother, I too was in a situation of renting a place for my daughter in NYC while in college, yes they need to grow up, but being 22 it’s still fine for parents to try to support and advocate in these situations.
It’s not an easy situation trying to figure things out remotely, dorms full, people renting closets as rooms… but your child needs somewhere you are hoping is safe to stay…
I too lost my deposit because the her “landlords” moved and could not find them…
she went back to dorm life the remainder of college.
Lesson learned for us both!
Actually the best lesson, her younger brother was on notice from a young age he needed to get scholarships and he graduated with a choice of 2 full scholarships and no university bills for me!

Yes it is fine to help at that age. Brains are not fully developed (especially the frontal lobe---logic center) until around 25 yrs of age.

I have to admit that I was more than just a bit taken aback when I heard the defendant being introduced, and then referred to as "Jesus" by the announcer (especially since he used no last name), but God Bless Judge Milan for announcing him as “Hesus” - the way I too was taught the name was said. After actually watching the case unfold (lol), I see clearly why I was initially so disturbed upon hearing that "Jesus" was the defendant being sued, because our 'Savior' this guy was obviously not.
