Judge Milan actually addressed that in one of the episodes because the defendant got upset about that. She said she interrupts them to get relevant information as soon as possible. That is her job as the judge. They cannot interrupt her because she needs to run the show.

Judge Milian is so out of touch on this case. This was hard to watch, defending a guy who was living for free and didn't finish the job without a signed contract. Also, she never made him log in to see if the App was finished or not.
I agree she could have had him log in, BUT the decision to allow him to live rent-free was on the defendant. He can’t just decide to go back on a contract because he regretted the decision that he made, hence the reason the plaintiff won the case.

He was supposed to provide a scope of work to detail exactly what he would develop and then wait for the client to agree. No good business owner would ever agree to pay $10k on something like that if they knew exactly what they were getting.
