I think it’s so perfect how you mentioned that not disclosing that she was the face of the Laneige blue is deceptive. Even if she did love it before now we question if she is biased. I had this same thought when some OG UA-camrs were complaining about how audiences wanted affiliate codes disclosed as such. Because I thought it was the same thing. These channels are using these people who are the faces of the campaign should also disclose this information

Most of this thing is an ad. She sprays perfume at the end. And coincidentally it's a newer fragrance from Armani, a brand she also works with.

Honestly, she is not someone who had her skin care all figured out apparently, and she probably was introduced to a bunch of their products when she was hired as their model. It's not really all that weird that she would use their products, and they might work well for her. I totally get that she's probably biased, but when you are the face of a brand, they gave you a ton of stuff. She probably wouldn't use those products if she hadn't worked for them, but I bet she just is comfortable with them now.

OMG what you said about hyaluronic acid makes so much sense now. It never really worked for my skin and seemed to either irritate it or dry it out. It’s annoying that it’s in literally everything right now lol. The only product with HA I still use is the vanicream daily lotion at night but only when it’s dead sweaty summer and humid.

It's individual. With the right product and excellent dermatologist guiding you through your HA or any other routine it can be quite hydrating. The right HA combo with other skin care products and regular deep cleanse facials keep and have kept my skin very hydrated and moisturized during harsh cold days + retinol

    - First comes the oil based cleanser on dry skin, remove the make up with gentle massaging and then wash my face
    - Second on wet skin apply the water based cleanser where I do a gentle massage once again so it becomes foamy and then wash my face.

I think you guys are looking into this a little bit too much. She admitted that she wasn't really sure about skin care before, so when she got hired to model for the brand, she was probably introduced to a bunch of products. If she hadn't been hired by them, she probably wouldn't have found them on her own, but it's completely reasonable that they are what she uses now because that's what she knows.
There are brands of skin care and make up that I only use because I was introduced to them in sample beauty bags like IPSY, and I liked them and kept using them. I'm sure she got a bunch of free skin care from them, and they became part of her routine. I will agree though, she should have mentioned that she was given those products because they hired her as a face.

hi i dont know if youre still struggling with this but I used to swear off dermatologists when i was younger cause I have done multiple things such as: tazorac, benzoyl peroxide washes, epiduo, laser, etc. and although the laser did help, it didn't get rid of my acne or my VERY DARK scars (it did work a bit, but i also pick whiteheads cause they skeeve me out). I honestly feel like the combo my derm gave me of differin gel (which i purchased on my own and she okayed me using prior to Tretinoin) and winlevi + consistent sunscreen use everyday is preventing breakouts and helping my scars fade faster than anything I have done the past 10 years. I also use the cosrx snail mucin (inflammatory for many but not for me) & rosehip seed oil from the ordinary mixed in with my cetaphil facecream. My cleanser is the cerave hydrating one and I don't really exfoliate extra anymore. And I'm already seeing great results with scarring & texture just after 3 weeks of using....so I really recommend doing your own research and then going to a dermatologist, if you can, with knowledge. Even if you just stay consistent with Differin Gel + sunscreen and simple cleansers/moisturizers, i'm pretty sure you'd get amazing results. Just my 2 cents!!

I don't do make up and I don't use a mineral sunscreen but if you do, I recommend using an oil based cleanser first before wetting your hands or your face and then gradually applying more water as you go because it would take everything out better this way. I used to use a mineral sunscreen and this was the best method for me. Also whenever I did eye makeup this worked wonders on getting the makeup out. Now I only use a chemical sunscreen and therefore I don't feel the need to use an oil based cleanser, so I just wash my face first, then get the water based cleanser, foam it a little on my hand and then put it all over my face and massage it until it dries and i wait for a minute so that it gets the time to work. This is the best way for me to apply cleanser.

I just wanted to comment on the periolar dermatitis. I also got it when I was around 24 and doctors could not figure it out so I tried to fix it on my own. Finally I kept reading that diaper rash cream helped other people. So I decided to try zinc as a vitamin supplement instead of topically since it's hard to walk around with white stuff on your skin that doesn't absorb. The dermatitis faded after the vitamin built up in my system after a month or two and has not returned. It has been 10 years now and I don't even take zinc regularly anymore. Does science back up the zinc theory Dr. Idriss?

Sydney is so charming, but I get what you mean about the LaNeige promotion. It’s frustrating because a lot of those Vogue beauty secrets videos feature people who are promoting either their own brand or a brand that has paid them to be their spokesperson, so you have to take them with a grain of salt.

You' re gonna kill me buuuut... I' m a ballerina. I wear drag amounts and 2-3 fake lashes. I break it all with olive oil and my fingertips to avoid unnecessary rubbing as fast as possible. *INMEDIATELY* without oppening my eyes, luke warm water ready and a foam cleanser (CeraVe or LRP) in a pump, I blindly rinse this mess twice. Then, the routine can start. 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 And yes, we take photos to each other when the oil has melt down the black liner and the face is a Brent barrel😝

Depends on the cleanser consistency - I use a cleansing balm, so that works best on dry skin then washed off with water. I use coconut oil to gently remove makeup but then cleanse thoroughly (I don’t wear much makeup so it works well for me, and it’s inexpensive).

The way I wash my face:
    1. Wash my hands
    2. Wash my face with just water several times, especially my eyes (whether it's dry in the morning or has micellar water residue)
    3. Prep the cleanser with my hands till it becomes foamy
    4. Rub it on my face then rinse it.
I thought everyone did it that way and it makes me uncomfortable to see people apply cleanser or soap on dry skin 🙃🙃

Re: picking and my experience in office: I have an esthi license (17.5 years + 9 years study as a layperson), had something going on with my skin, advised I had excellent skincare since age 12, provided dates photos showing how I looked just days prior, and openly advised prior to my appts (multiple) that I had been mislabeled and misdiagnosed a “picker”, and providers were denying me a biopsy and treatment as they believed I caused my own issue. It took an entire year, and getting booted from my longtime clinic for disagreeing with them, to finally find a Derm who would listen. I was lied to, given meds under false pretenses, it was terrible. However, I see others who appear different than I openly admit to picking, and they do not receive the mistreatment I received upon insisting that was not the case, along with my pro license, evidence, etc.
Turned out I have a form of hyperkeratosis on my face, and now C-PTSD to go with it from the experience. My medical records and life have been destroyed, along with my near perfect skin, and love for skincare. It’s been a nightmare. ❤️💛💙

I just splash my face with water in the mornings. But at night I use an oil cleanser to remove my sunscreen (it has to be water resistant bc my face sweats like crazy and I live in an extremely humid climate) and then go in with a gentle cleanser. I don't rub my hands together. But yes, my face has to be wet first even if I wouldn't do an oil cleanse first. It would drive me crazy to use a normal cleanser on dry skin. Lol

I avoid products with these locking ingredients like vaseline, mineral oil, dimethicone and the like, because they don't work for me in a long run. I prefer natural oils, butters or glycerin, but as mentioned above it's important to hydrate the skin before putting on anything that locks the water inside. My favourite is argan oil because it's very universal, light and helps my scars to fade but of course I don't want to promote it as something that fits everybody, it's best to try it out whether it works for you or not.
