- When in doubt, add more flamethrowers. If that doesn't work, add more flamethrowers. If that doesn't work, you should probably just give up since the task you are attempting is either impossible or does not involve oxygen.

A cool Besiege idea would be creating an attack helicopter, kinda like an Apache.
see if you can make an engine powered by water (no specific game req, just whatever game has water you can use for power)

I’m always astonished what people can achieve in a (relatively) simple building game (evidence: the literal incendiary cannon you’ve built). Very impressive sieging!
I also think I may have an idea of what you could build in a game - a springald. It’s a medieval siege weapon similar to a ballista but built in a rectangular frame and inward-swinging arms. It’s up to you which game to create something in though, I imagine making one in Poly Bridge would be a challenge.
Would love to see you make a gun that reloads itself using the force from the ammunition in a similar way to an AK or AR
You mean a gas piston it uses the pressure from the round and pulls and bolt back

It's a standard design present in many speedy launchers in toys. (I have seen it in a snap circuit foam disc launcher)

the logs only caught on fire in slowmo because of the way that besiege (and most other games) simulate physics objects. if something is moving super fast, it only simulates where it would actually be once every frame. in this case, since it was moving so fast, frame 1 of movement was at the wheels, and frame 2 was past the flames, so there was no actual simulated frame wherein the logs were touching the flames. slowmo increases the amount of simulated frames, so even though it was moving so fast, there was still a time where the flames and the logs were touching.
Fun Fact: I believe it's shift, but when your selecting stuff, if you want to select multiples, like most programs, holding shift and clicking allows you to more precisely select stuff

Have you thought about making a repeating bow/crossbow in this game? Maybe something like Joerg Sprave's 'Instant Legolas' design? I've been considering it for my next build, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I mean, real flamethrowers do use a pilot light (don't know if that's the correct term) to ignite, so it is accurate.

Nice flamethrower! I'm trying to make a vehicle that can pick up sheep with the grabber, spin them around on the end of a rope, and launch them at a target - I'd love to see what you would make with that idea. Keep up the dope designs!

Getting the logs to catch fire took so long I thought we'd eventually end up at 'but that was still catching too inconsistently, so as you can see I constructed a small portal to hell...'

A good way for ammo might be to 'shelve' the ammo on racks above the launcher, each with it's own piston. When you need a round you activate a button, and maybe using a logic system it would consecutively activate those pistons to push the next round into the chute down into the launcher itself.
This might be hard, but you could try making a big walker with an artillery cannon (like a sniper) on it's back that can be used for long range demolition in besiege

So for the flywheel system to prevent from braking as it was I would’ve put springs connecting the top, bottom and maybe middle to the sides. That should let you build get more wheels on

8:45 not sure exactly as I never programmed a physics game, but I would guess that in slow motion only the values are slowed, but using the same number of physics frames to simulate. ( Ex.: 60 pfps in 1x time, and 60pfps in 0.5x time. )
In ClusterTruck, a game that has physics and time slowing down or whatever you want to call it, you can slowdown time then jump. This had a chance of sending you very far. I'm not sure what makes it like that. But it's physics are pretty similar to besiege.
If I'm remembering correctly and braces don't have collision, could you have reinforced the wheels by using essentially 3 or 4 bar linkages from each wheel to a dedicated swivel joint mounted directly to the frame? Just a guess, but could be useful if it works.
The reason it gets destroyed at 5:03 is because the third and fourth pairs of columns of wheels are not linked together at the top I think

hey guys back in besiege and today we are going to be a making a particle accelerator
Instead of using thick wheels to increase speed, use smaller wheels, so it's more stabil.
edit: like seriously. I stacked 6 small wheels, added a divider, then another 6 wheels on top, linked the top wheel of the bottom stack with the bottom wheel of the top stack, linked bottom non-wheel, divider and top non-wheel to each other, and added 2 small propellers to the top wheel, and it accelerates from "standing still" to "can longer see the ground" in around 1 second on normal speed with breakable mode on.
This is a slightly simplified description of the machine I built, but it's obvious which parts need tweaking to make the thing function. It is also not the most efficient way to move fast, and the whole thing spins, which is also bad, but surely, you still get the point.

(this comment is about using flamethrowers efficienly in campaign mode, and is not relevant to the project in this video.)
If you want to reduce the amount of fuel a flamethrower uses during the campaign, but don't want to sacrifice distance, you can hook it up to a clock, that activates it for 0.03 seconds, then deactivates it for 0.01-0.05 seconds. the timings may be wrong, but play with them a bit, and I'm sure they'll work fine.
Build a battle bot from that one show :)
