You need episodes like this once in a while to add some fun, humour and light entertainment to the show and break it up a bit rather than every episode being either someone getting murdered or about to be, someone cheating on someone or about to or some other more serious incident. I for one appreciate the writers taking a break for an episode or two and just having a bit of fun with the characters. I bet the actors probably appreciated it too.
Coronation Street is pretty good, but holy moly do they go down the rabbit hole occasionally.
I think it is at its best when it does quirky things such as this.
