Chris/Tony, after listening to this podcast I got to thinking. TM talked about the improvements to the TP5/x balls and they stockpile product instead of releasing small quantities to retail. If the 2024 version is “new and improved” how do we, the consumers truly know what is a 2023 leftover versus new 2024 stock?
A golf buddy of mine 15 years ago got DQ’d from a local club championship he was leading by 10 strokes. Signing for a wrong score just isn’t a mistake any veteran golfer should make
I started playing the TP5 several years ago after finding one in the woods at my course. Really liked the feel and the ability to work the ball around the greens. Had a heart attack when I saw the price! But with patience and searching was able to get some that I could afford. I've tried others, but none perform for me as well as the TP5. And that includes any of the other TM balls. JM2C

Im not trying to be rude, but either hire a podcast producer or fire your current one. Using zoom audio or body clip mics is not up to audio standards of any other podcast. The graphics and organization of this podcast are good; get the audio there I like this podcast, just please improve the quality of it so its somwhat close to the audio quality of most other podcasts
Unbiased. Not sure, TM sure gets a lot of time from mgs. Stories online about off center cores in the new 2024 balls. Would be more unbiased if these stories were adressed.
Intrigued, I stopped at the pro shop at the turn and bought a sleeve of the TP5X. I have been gaming a Titleist AVX for the past several months and really like it. The TaylorMade ball was noticeably shorter off the driver and had a much firmer feel around the greens and especially off the putter face. For me it was a lot worse.
As far as the Spieth DQ, tour pros know there is no way they’re going to get away with altering a score card. This leads me to believe that when it happens, it’s an honest mistake. I would think a 2 or 3 stroke penalty would be punishment enough for the infraction.
At this point just have scorers instead of having them keep up with their own score. Golf is the only sport where you keep your own score. Evolve and eliminate the problem
@@user-xz2dp4sx7v scorers do keep the scores… Spieth or his caddy could’ve pulled up the leaderboard and confirmed his numbers before signing… maybe just have them sign a digital card that’s kept by scorers? Either way the player is gonna have to sign for their score after the round
Probably won’t play the tp5 just because of the cost. More interested to hear if there’s a new tour response. That’s fantastic ball. A touch pricey too but more my speed
Played both this past weekend and still disappointed.....these are not THAT different than the 2021 versions.....TP5x is still clicky and not enough spin near the green....TP5 is still high flying and too spinny.....

I believe the rule is as long as the ball doesn’t move off of its axis it’s ok. Pretty sure that was the case

Can’t judge intent… if this was a less popular player it’s not crazy to think he might be called a cheater by the media and fans.

Stroke penalties are given for non compliant play not after play.
I’m going to give the ‘24 TP5 Pix a whirl. Love the alignment aid and I hope it performs to unseat the Pro V1x in my bag.
