Hi guys firstly love watching you guys, I think you give the best reviews for the average golfer (10-20 hcp, I’m a 14 hcp). Any way just watching from Down Under and I’ve been using all 3 brands. My usual is the Srixon Z Star or Z Star Diamond followed by the Pro V1 and only recently used the TP5. I’m still yet to decide on a go to ball, but all ball reviews and game time will decide I guess. Just pick up new clubs, TM Stealths and Sim 2 Max driver and rescue with a Titleist TS2 3wood and I’m finding different balls behave differently with my new clubs.
great video I've narrowed mine down to a few balls 2024 AVX , Taylormade TP5 , Callaway ERC soft , PXG Extreme , and for spring and fall months Taylormade Speedsoft , tour Response Striped , Srixon Q-Star tour Divide I actually Love all these balls and play them all depends on weather and which ones were on sale and to tell you the truth no real difference distance wise off the driver some are a smidge softer than the others but i Love the way they all react nowadays ya can't really go wrong if ya go with which ever ball I am 59 years old and a 7 handicap and LOVE golf cheers to you all from Vulcan Canada
I have been messing around this off season with last gen TP5x, I like a softer ball for feel around the green and my gamer I float between the Chrome soft truvis and the Bridgestone Tour BXS, but mostly the CS. I was surprised how soft feeling the TP5x was so I’m curious to see how the 2024 model is….. but again I’m patiently awaiting the chrome soft tour review😊 I know soft is slower, but that’s just what I prefer, and I much prefer a ball that does not spin too much off the driver. At 54 I need all the distance I can get without sacrificing feel. Great job again guys! Appreciate ya!
Nice review. I've played with all of these balls, but my gamer is the Bridgestone Tour B RXS. This is mostly because my clubbed speed is less than 105 and I get good distance with these and since its winter, I need the help they work really well around the green. In the summer, I may use the Taylormade or the Srixon.
The Srixon Diamonds have been my go to and are great, just bought some TP5x since they were on sale for prime day. Never played Taylormade before so im excited to absolutely send a different brand into the woods
I played the z-star for about 4 years but have moved over to tp5 pix love the feed back on putting and has some of my longest drives with the Taylor made but very close, you see Srixon all the time in uk, more the ad333 but still plenty z-star/z-start xv and some diamonds
I love the Srixon z star line. Always floating between diamond and xv for my higher swing speed. Most underrated ball out there. But I don’t mind if it stays that way so I can keep getting them on sale😂
I enjoyed your review. I just tried the new TP5 and really liked it. Too new coming back to golf to have a real opinion, but this is my favorite ball of the ones I've tried. Thanks for the interesting review!
I didnt notice it being a ton softer based on feel. But based on what we saw, they are. They feel fantastic but i have always felt that way with the TP5. Thanks for the Support 👍
Srixon are everywhere on the Mid-Atlantic! I just want a good sound, feel and a ball that drops and stops for every iron, rolls out well with long clubs! Thanks
you guys are swinging differently with the TP5 balls.....id love to agree with the results but im more in tune with how these felt for you guys.....and side spin...were they staright or flying more off line?
It felt like TM was a more controlled ball flight. But the consistency with Srixon is very good too. Based on feel alone the new TP5/TP5X was a great upgrade from the last model. Worth trying for sure if you get a chance.
@@embersgolf Thanks a lot for the replies. I want to give the TP5 line a go because the 2019 TP5 was awesome....never liked the TP5x but realize the new version might be good for me as I am a higher spin player and need to lower my spin a bit
I play the q star tour. I think it's the best ball for guys who are 25-12 handicappers. 3 piece. Urethane cover. Long. Good greenside spin. And affordable. It's a no brainer
You ever find they spin too much with irons and you lose distance? I have a friend who started using them and he's all the sudden a club shorter than me into the green when we were always neck and neck.. same driver distance also. They just make me nervous seeing that ha
I played Z Star Divide for a good part of a year. Loved the amount of greenside spin it produced around and greens but I felt like I was coming up short on driver (high launch and spin) so I switched
Yeah, its tough to find the perfect ball. And they seem to differ for each individual so its important to test them for yourselves too. Thanks for watching and sharing 👍
I appreciate you all not testing the TP5x vs The Prov1x. A lot of channels do that even though they aren’t trying to do the same thing. They see the X and think they’re the same. TP5x is more of a -V1x.
Interesting to say the least. I played the TP5x for a bit till I discovered Bridgestone Tour BX which I use today. Still love the TP5x but I enjoy the harder feeling of the Bridgestone over the slight softer feel from TaylorMade, but am interested in trying the TP5x again after reading about the new version. For me It's going to be an interesting round when I can get the new TaylorMade. Thanks again for all you guys do on this channel
@@embersgolf Got the new TP5x and played around this Sunday. Here's my take. Overall better than the previous model. So compared to my gamer the Bridgestone Tour BX and the last TP5x version (which I played many times), the new ones for me felt a touch firmer which I liked. The driver feel was pretty close the the Bridgestone and performance very nice and almost equal. The feel off the irons felt firm with a slight touch. The distance off the irons was impressive, equaled what I can do with the Bridgestone. Green side spin was better than my gamer. Overall I would play the new TP5x any day of the week minus the fact the Bridgestone Tour BX are $10 cheaper a dozen.
I am not sure, I watched back and couldn’t tell. I kept the TP5X in my pocket between shots so I feel like I was hitting the correct ball. 🤷🏽♂️ Thanks for Watching 👍
great review i watched a utube review how they are made and its amazing the detail they go to gonna try the new PIX TP5 for sure looking forward to your CHROME SOFT TOUR review now well done guys cheers
I play the Z-star, it’s the best ball! Super underrated in Canada. New TP5 is just as good just a lot more expensive. Pro v1x is just as good. Same thing too expensive!
@Chris.Cliver Wow... 120mph swing speed is sensational. When I am maxed out, 105. I need to do sone speed training and be happy with a 105 - 108 mph range. 40 g Ladies flex here I come!! 😂😂😂
That seems like very low spin for the ball speed and launch with 7 iron for all the balls. My launch is about the same at 18-20 for 7 iron but spin closer to 6500-7. Maybe it’s my Kirkies!
I used to play the Srixon XV. Durability was terrible. I did a ball fit through TXG. Tried many balls. My swing speed is 85mph. The Prov1x was by far the best ball for me. The XV was second but the durability lacked. Love your reviews but honestly MGS is the king of ball reviews.
While Rory may be shilling for TM in touting the additional 5-7 yards he is getting with the new TP5x, I highly doubt he is playing that ball. It is way too firm for a pro's needs. Yes, it's long but it has minimal feel and minimal spin around the greens and off the irons. My favorite ball has been the Titleist AVX for some time - for it's combination of length/low spin off the driver, while still having soft feel and ample spin around the greens and on iron shots. Much better ball than the TP5x, imo...
I’m sure the correlation between the golf balls aren’t correct. The TP5 is the equivalent to the Pro V1x and the TP5x is the equivalent of Pro V1… IIRC could be wrong but im pretty sure the TP5 spins more and your comparisons aren’t correct unless it’s changed
TM is NOT making a dent in the market in relation to Titleist. Trying to classify Titleist as an "old school" just kills your credibility. TM cannot touch the titleist market........they are going after the market which includes bridgestone and srixon and the balls which have very little market share,
You must be slow. Golf is unique to where high value equipment can fit mid to high handicap amateurs well the same way low value equipment may suit low handicap or pro players well. So Take it easy.

That is so true! Varies so much depending on person and equipment. Let us know what ends up your number 1 once you break in the new gear 🙌🏼
Ive played with the old TP5x and the Srixon XV, they are so similar. I have a driver speed of 110 so i love the firmer balls.
Right there with you Kevin! 🙌🏼

Asic shoes look nice. Feel good/comfortable? Are they available to public?
Which asics are you referring to specifically? Which model?
Shorter brother has the white shoes with black stripes on in this video.

what one felt softer pro v1 /tp5 /tp5x which one is best for 90mph s/s
I would think you would like the TP5 or Prov1. Thanks for watching Joseph
How would you compare the softness of the TP5 of 2024 to the prior generation?? Just subscribed. Thanks for the video.

What's a slower swing speed?
My driver is 97.5 avg
6iron 85 avg
56w 78 avg
Currently a tour response player, but considering a change
Your prob right on the edge between that and a TP5,
Good job on the review!! Taylormade made came out swinging this year.
Yeah they did! They are really hitting it hard

In south africa the srixons and pro v are popular for the older guys like 40+ but the younger guys like the taylormades and the srixons
Love it! Thanks for sharing that feedback Ian 🙏🏼🙌
You should also be looking at the grouping of them. Think the pro v gave you tighter circles.
That is a very Solid Point Eric!
Now I would like to see you do both balls and see what one has better grouping.
Gonna have to give them a try!
Yeah you do!
Have you guys looked at the new Bridgestone series balls? I’d love to see a comparison with those.
