The shift pins from what I've been told is what causes the shifter to have a oot of play. Replacing them will fix that issue.
Yes the detent pins is what causes 5th gear lean that was an extra $500 I didn’t feel like spending
Did you have to remove the driveshaft to install anything?
The driveshaft was off as we were doing a full clutch swap and the transmission was off the car already
dude... if you don't know how to do thing correctly, call a mechanic that does. Don't be beating on the parts to release them from one another. The shifter comes right off if you twist the white plastic collar 90º and then pull it out.
