I just bought one of these from Costco. This is my first OLED panel so in a word, Amazing!! Out of the box the grey scale was really off with the bottom 2 black "octaves" not really visible at all. After turning off the contrast enhancer and maxing the "shadow detail" things looked almost perfect. The colors were also over saturated and I had to drop the level to "15" to make it right. Overall my only complaint is with the screen durability. You see, I have cats... Often they hop up on my desk or TV stand and may take a playful swipe at something moving before I can chase them away. After just a few days, I noticed my playful felines had actually left some minor but permanent scratches in the anti-glare reflective coating. This has never been a problem with any of my Samsung's back-let LCD TV's which has seen plenty of attention from my cats over the years... I'm guessing it's a fundamental difference in the softness of materials used in OLED vs. LCD panels. Just a heads up... If you have cats to be prepared for this...
Oh man. You will be hooked for life. I bought an lg cx as my first entry to oled displays (other than my phones, but those tiny things don’t count) and I can never go back to lcd. Since I got that cx the panel failed a little after warranty with the common thin vertical green line. I could still use it, but it killed the experience for me. The tv was babied and sat untouched on the wall. It also had barely any hours on it for the amount of time I owned it which was about 16 months. I figured it couldn’t hurt to call lg as it clearly had minimal use and just sat on my wall and wasn’t out of warranty that long. Nope!! They didn’t care at all. I looked into repair, but a panel cost almost as much as buying the tv on the common sale prices that always seem to be around. So I begrudgingly coughed up for an lg c2 bc even though I was burned I was hooked on that tv. So I made sure I got that warranty with the c2. Then I upgraded my AW ultra wide 3440x1440 120 hz gsync pc display to an AW 3440x1440 144hz gsync oled display and I have them stacked vertically and the oled is light years ahead of the high end lcd. So now I’m moving and I got the 77 inch s90c from Costco for my new living room tv. On sale for $2600 with 5 year warranty and I saved $400 more for buying “5 qualifying items” (tv, 3 mattresses, sectional couch) so I made out great. When I see the qdoled next to all the other lcds at Costco I wonder how anyone could still be buying lcds?? We’ll see if microled can compete in the future but for now oled is king and qdoled is the cream of the crop!!!! I can’t wait to see my uhd blu ray disks on there. Or even my Rtx 4090 pc, ps5. Xbox series x. It’s all going to be so nice. Even my Apple TV 4K looks so gorgeous on oled with streamed content that has terrible bitrate compared to uhd disks or even my own plex media. It looks dang good!!!! Can’t wait for it to be delivered on the 2nd.
Returning this Tv after 30 days. Won’t stop turning off happens almost 5 times a day. We tried ever recommended settlings, we unplugged ever other device, and switched up our power supply.
Did you put the middle plate on upside down with the stand? Other images of the TV mention that the plate goes over top of the legs to cover them. I'd also think the legs have some rubber on the bottom to avoid sliding, but thats negated with the plate under the feet
Of course he put it on upside down. Guy clearly doing this content for the views and likes and can't seem to be bothered to follow simple install instructions. Lol.

65 inch and below for the 90C is the same panel as last years 95B. They didn’t have 77 inch panels last year, so the 77 is likely the newer panel in the more expensive 95C

Samsung needs to adopt Dolby Vision, I think they lose a lot of consumers who want the full package at this price point. It's like Betamax vs VHS or HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray, once the industry has chosen their preferred format companies need to concede and run with it.
Whereas it would be great to have a toggle on/off DV option, very few TVs do that. Fact is that 50% of the time the HDR10 image is as good or better than the DV rendition. But I don't hear anyone complain about being forced to use DV and that's simply because they imagine DV is the good standard. Remember too that DV is a 12bit technology and notice how often it over darkens the majority of the image to make the highlights pop more. Agreed that the option should be there but I think it's more important that if you have DV you can easily disable it
Samsung isn't going to adopt Dolby Vision. They're, by far, the biggest TV brand so they have no reason to change course. Samsung's annual revenue last year: $224,76 billion vs Sony's annual revenue last year: $88,30 billion.
Its a non-conversation starter now. With oleds peaking over 1k nits now, they do an incredible job tone mapping HDR without the need of Dolby Vision or HDR10+. The differences are becoming negligible, I don't understand why people keep saying its a deal breaker
I watch this channel often along with Andrew Robinson on his channel - and I got to ask. Where do these guys find ladies who love audio, visual tech equipment. I have to adopt the buy first, take the flack later approach lol. Great review by the way…..
Appreciated. Yeah, those peeps know their stuff. Jen and I are both learning more as we go. Jen is a trooper and has always helped me with my biz.. but I have a short leash on buying stuff, not for UA-cam ! 😆
All around good video guys but you should really add something about the correct way the base plate goes on. The way you did it, as you even mention, doesn't have the padded feet exposed so the TV slides too easily and could very well scratch the surface it's on.
I was surprised when he said the movie theaters don’t have HDR. I believe he’s based in San Diego, so there’s a Dolby Cinema literally minutes from where he lives. Guess he’s more home theater than going to the movie theaters.
Bought the S90C a few weeks ago. Colors and clarity are super rich, although TV definitely has motion issues. UA-cam TV and Disney + have skipping/motion which makes whatever you're watching on those two platforms super annoying. Although, the clarity and brightness are really good this TV. I would not recommend buying it for the skipping/motion issues.
I've been debating between the 65 inch G3 and the 77 inch S90c. Believe it or not the 77 inch S90c is actually less than the 65 inch G3 at the moment. By $200 at that. I suspect this trend is going to continue up until Black Friday where they at least match prices at $1999 (which was the Black Friday price of the G2 last year). The S90c is in the lead for the moment lol. We shall see lol.
@@BeatelementhePiH There isn’t really a “what size do you need?” Per say, it’s whatever works best for you. The 77 inch makes more sense due to the likelihood of it being a Gen 2 panel.
its interesting how the universal wall mount on the TV is so low on this TV. I understand they do that to keep the screen over all thin. but that does now require a complete mount re hang if you are upgrading from an older TV. Also possibly moving location of wires and electrical .
You can add Dolby Vision to anything if you get a VVRoom adapter. I have one for my projector and it's owesome. It also controls several displays. Of course it cost about 500 bucks.
HDMI has a full 48Gbps of bandwidth on the s90c vs 40Gbps on the s95c because of the one connect box. That makes a big difference especially for gaming on PC.
My concern with the the S90C is that Samsung is known to force firmware updates (even with settings turned to "off" for auto-updates!). This happened quite a bit with the S95B. They wreaked havoc by nerfing the brightness of the S95B. Another forced update altered game mode, and this type of thing even occurred with the auto-dimming (abl?) of the QN90B after another QN90B "update". Samsung should get their software correct before releasing models instead of using customers as guinea pigs, or revoking features that caused one to purchase their tv, only to have those features stolen away in an update. I have a very real concern that the S90c will be purchased because it's just like the S95C and $1000 cheaper only to have an update steal away the peak brightness. Thus, making the S90C nowhere near the quality of the S95C anymore. If some are unfamiliar with what I speak of, research it. It is a well documented practice that Samsung engages in. Thanks for the great content B, Jen, & Caesar!
That’s not entirely accurate and you need to be clear. The reason S95B received an update was because it was released basically uncapped and would eventually cause burn in. Samsung rolled an update out that affected all tvs in their lineup because of those, but essentially it had to be done because S95B at well over 1500+ nits for first Gen Tech was going to lose life panel. S95C/S90C 2nd generation are 1100-1400nits in peak window.
lol it literally says right in the instructions not to mount it like in the video - anyone that is watching: make sure the plate is mounted on TOP of the two legs. When viewing it from the front, the legs should be covered up by the plate.

Great video as always! Your channel has always been a go to for tips and information! I’m at a crossroads. I’ve always enjoyed Samsung TVs and have had a few of them over the years. My last Samsung was the 65” QN90B. Great TV all around but I wanted to go bigger. I sold that TV and purchased a 75” Hisense U8K. It took me two weeks to get the picture settings to my liking. At times the picture quality on the Hisense reminds me of the Samsung TVs I’ve had in the past but I keep getting a sense my personal preference will always be with Samsung. I wasn’t in a position to get the 77” S90C when I purchased the U8K but now things have changed and the Samsung is a possibility. I know everyone says OLEDs will give you the best quality etc etc. My concern is the brightness. That has always been a personal preference for me having had Samsung QLEDs. Does anyone have the 77” S90C and how would you rate the SDR and HDR brightness levels? I know B and Jen were amazed by the brightness so would like to hear from someone who’s had this TV for an extended amount of time.

I just bought this tv and noticed there is a slight bend from top to bottom all the way across about a 1/4 inch at worst spot middle of the screen. Is having completely flat panel a reasonable expectation and does it affect performance and picture quality in any way. Thanks
In the UK I bought the curved Samsung with the one connect box the first week it came I think it was £2500 that was a number of years ago now in the first two day a HDMI when faulty the picture went pink and it looked like you were looking through a net curtain then another went the same to it back the shop and change it for the flat screen 65inch which has been perfect but the reason I'm checking this out is I'm looking to go larger unto 100inch wall mount.

Why would you not mount it on the wall especially fully knowing your cat hops on the stand Often and it's not like this TV is cheap... 🤯
Buy a warranty for the TV because if your cats aren't going after it then the burn ins will come after you for sure.
The stand sure but apart from that the best unboxing of this tv I've seen. I like your couple chemistry too. 😄
Lol.
They do have hdr in the theaters, Dolby cinema… But it’s hard to beat a panel. In love with my 77 inch g3
congrats friend. have the lg g3 77 inch also. fenomenal tv. but do you know if i download a movie. does it only supports dolby vision if i put it on a usb stick with mkv file? because i stream creed 3 in dolby vision from my internal mediaplayer from lg g3 with my laptop. but only hdr 10 lights up.
How bright do most projecters get though? Can they even reach 100 nits?

I seen the s90c at Costco yesterday and I love it
Great video as always, I like to see you both working together, lovely family team.
65 inch and below for the 90C is the same panel as last years 95B. They didn’t have 77 inch panels last year, so the 77 is likely the newer panel in the more expensive 95C
Will the 90C 50 or 55 inch get a different panel like the 95C in the future?

Agreed that the option should be there but I think it's more important that if you have DV you can easily disable it
@@lancealex382 gold* standard 🤔🤷♂️😉😎
Samsung isn't going to adopt Dolby Vision. They're, by far, the biggest TV brand so they have no reason to change course. Samsung's annual revenue last year: $224,76 billion vs Sony's annual revenue last year: $88,30 billion.
@@PedroMartins-yv1lv - "Stop The Fomo" tested HDR10+ against Dolby Vision and there was no measurable difference between the two.
Love the content. Waiting to see comparisons to see how TCL and Hisense tvs will measure up.
Guys love the video thought it was awesome and refreshing!
All around good video guys but you should really add something about the correct way the base plate goes on. The way you did it, as you even mention, doesn't have the padded feet exposed so the TV slides too easily and could very well scratch the surface it's on.
Thank you for mentioning the mount holes standard. So many reviewers miss that.
FYI there is HDR in theaters. AMC theaters have Dolby Vision but in theaters it is called Dolby Cinema. Well worth it to see a movie in Dolby Cinema.
Love the pug! Cute little guy.
He's the best. Except for when he's snoring, chewing a bone, sniffing his own pee, or barfing out the stuff he shouldn't have eaten. 😆 na he's cool
Video was super helpful in setting up my new s90c. Thanks!
came for the tv. stayed for the dog.
May be a dumb question, but is it compatible with Iphone and easy to use with airplay and such?
Commenting from the future.. yes, we have the 83 inch, I bought it. And unboxing it is the same.
The stand plate was installed incorrectly, the flat part is in the top but you guys installed upside down 🙃
Thanks for the video.
Was going to buy this TV but big problem is soundbar will not fit below with the TV feet in way.
If I go value, I would pick the S90C 77 inch. But for max picture level I'm gonna wait for the A95L. 🤩
We shall see lol.

its interesting how the universal wall mount on the TV is so low on this TV. I understand they do that to keep the screen over all thin. but that does now require a complete mount re hang if you are upgrading from an older TV. Also possibly moving location of wires and electrical .
It’s low as you ideally want the screen level with your eyes and you don’t have to be super tall to hang it.
Thanks for the great review. Definitely helped my decision in getting one. What wall mount would you recommend for this tv.
You slide that piece of metal stand wrong my friend. that word say for 77 or 83 should be to the bottom
You're right 😂

You can add Dolby Vision to anything if you get a VVRoom adapter. I have one for my projector and it's owesome. It also controls several displays. Of course it cost about 500 bucks.
Stand installed upside down. Excellent unboxing instrucions tho. 👍🏼

I’m fighting on getting this Samsung s90c qd oled vs LG C3 same price for 77” $3199 right now should I wait for price to drop or that’s a good price?? I know B and Jen were amazed by the brightness so would like to hear from someone who’s had this TV for an extended amount of time.
what tv is that on your wall back there, also what is the best LED tv deal 70-85in around 2000-3000
Where are the mounting holes?? The back does not look like any basic mounting diagram for a TV. We bought a more stable stand with wall straps to prevent tip overs and we can't find ANY directions online or in our paperwork.

Oh B.... B.... Why? Are your TVs sitting so high? They need to be on a stand that puts the TV at direct straight eye level when seated.
You have mounted the middle plate of the stand upside down. The feet are not meant to be showing.
