- What could have been.
The result of this is incomplete. It does, at least, show off what happens at the end of Hard mode in this iteration of the game until closer to the end where it's not quite all there. It does at least show Kain prior to the version that eventually came out in the Gamecube collection (again, JP exclusive), the two extra fights and it is far less glitchy than the version that came before it years ago. Still, this is a little ways to go from being a finished product...unless Professor Oak is canon in Lip's world and I'm all for that, if true.
The short story is this was the original, intended version of the game but Nintendo had other plans, like the version of Panel de Pon before it. Instead, we got Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. A good enough alternative but lost lore all the same. The entirety of this franchise, in general, seems to suffer from this quite a bit and I'm not entirely certain why but, in hindsight, I suppose they just didn't foresee the franchise, as is, as marketable.
Plays through a run of Hard mode, 1cc. Apologies for the ding at around 6:55. I thought I shut off all forms of communication to the machine this was being recorded on live but evidently I didn't. Nearly considered a redo of the video but I think this will suffice for now. I hope to see a completion of this one day.

Is Lip's mom dying or something?
I'm not quite sure what's up with Cordelia, story-wise, in this version of the game but it's definitely a different route than its Super Famicom predecessor here.
All I know is Zilba definitely has something to do with it, given who you fight after Cordelia. That story line is completely different in the Nintendo Puzzle Collection version as well, which was released years later.
It's honestly amazing how far this little project has come. Nearly the entire story mode has been restored. It's wonderful to see.
So it makes a total of 14 stages?
At present. I don't think it'll get any higher than this.
@@ThisIsUMR i mean, PPC had a total of 13 stages, due to Zilba battle, Lip alone counts as Stage 13, and then Lip and Kain makes this as true final stage, such is 14th
That's correct yes there's 14 stages we know of in pdp gb and they're shown in this video. Notably all of these were simply replaced over the ppc stages, with the exception of the two zilba stages which took a bit more to restore.
The cg graphics iirc are all present as well. As are all of the character icons with the exception of the "dad" character which is still unknown. There's no other playable/fightable characters or stages other than what's shown in this video. So if they were planned, the contents didn't make it into the rom.
