Amoma is an ilonggo/hiligaynon words means to care or nuture. Sta. Barbara Golf course is the oldest Golf course in the PH and its built by Scottish expatriates employed by Philippine Railways.

I enjoyed your vlog of my hometown. Came to Santa Barbara the first time 23 years ago and fell so in love with it, we bought a lot for our future retirement. We finally retired in 2022 and live down behind the church.

Great video. Love the Amoma restaurant. That looks so awesome and even better when the lights are on. The golf course looks great too. Sadly I can't golf anymore as it bothers my shoulders too much and would make me play worse that I already did before lol.

There are government owned golf courses in the Philippines mostly owned and maintained by the military but open to the public: Camp Aguinaldo, Villamor, Navy, Intramuros, Veterans, Zamboanga, etc.

What an interesting and unusual place (the Vietnamese owned operation)!
These are the hidden gems you just won't see normally on others' channels, Mike!
It's the reason you're bound to grow this channel to it's full potential IMO...
Having SMEs (subject matter experts) beside you helps as well...
It brings authenticity and perspectives that are unique and fill in the rest of the story so to speak...
    Thanks, bro...

As an avowed golf addict, I picked Bacolod to live in because of Bacolod CC in Murcia. Where I’ve been a member for 9 years. Now having said that, my first trip to play Iloilo CC had me wondering if I made the right decision. The Iloilo golf course is beautiful, like a well maintained park. Fortunately I am able to play it 12 times a year with a reciprocal agreement between the clubs. Price wise they are very close in what they offer membership wise for the playing rights, so you don’t need to purchase a share. Which as old as this course, they are probably not readily available. Now Bacolod is a bigger city but Iloilo is a much better run city. The amenities Iloilo offers versus Bacolod is notable. The restaurants are much better and more variety. It is a much cleaner city. Who knows one day I may end up there.

It's not really comparable though there are very few golf courses in the Philippines, most built by America and most didn't allow Filipinos to even play until decades later. So real comparison is can a minimum wage person in any other country afford a private country club membership?
Golf in Canada eas so common so many small public courses even small towns for $25 you could do 18 holes (10-15 years ago)
