We do feed dry Pollen powder in our external feeders when bees are flying they can bring it into the hive. We use patties and add other ingredients like honey bee healthy or medication. We also add sugar so the bees have additional food options right above their heads when the brood starts they are consuming a lot more stores. Another reason we use patties is so we can control exactly how much of feed each hive is getting. With open external feeders that is impossible. Thank you for your question 🐝
@@silverlakeadventure So you use dry pollen only on external feeders away from the hive. I was thinking that maybe a little container/pile of pollen could be left on top of the hive, just like a patty, along with a sugar block? Thank you for the video!
Thanks for the info, good job.
Thank you
Question: For the sake of simplicity, why not feed dry pollen or pollen substitute powder instead of making patties?
