- After the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership media summit, we went hard after anything that would bite and ended up with a crazy amount of species and some surprisingly large Smallmouth Bass for the water we were able to get to. Such a fun trip!

You got a TON of species! Cool idea for a video, traveling via public transportation and whatnot. Cool stuff.
This is dope mane! I’ve lived in Minneapolis my whole life and have been fishing around the area ever since I was kid. Love to see other people experiencing how great the urban fishing is here.
Thanks! Yeah dude, it’s bad to the bone!! Have you ever caught a musky in town?
@@TheElementWild Yes! Only one though at Lake Harriet
Awesome display of Urban fishing in MN!!!
Lazy River Bassin' Thank you!
What an amazing trip you guys had. the editing was on point. Hope someday I get my editing skills on point. You just got a new supporter of your channel as always happy fishing and tight lines my friend.
PGH Bottom Feeders thanks a ton for the compliment. We are hoping to do more urban videos this summer. Have you checked out our “ROCK TROLLS” video yet?
Awesome adventure and great video.
Thanks David!
You know what I miss about St. Paul/Minneapolis the most? I miss all the low flying plans. I really enjoyed them.
😂
Lmao, this is my go to spot on my way biking to the catch some fish on the creek. I think its odd for people to see a fly rod casting in these spots but I always get something. Glad you guys had a good time. If you ever make it back I can guide you to some fun trout spots just outside the city.
We will do Zane! We had a great time there fishing. So cool to have good water right in the middle of town. One of these days I’d love to come check out those Minnesota trout streams. I have family up in Brainerd, so I’ll be back one day. Hope you’re staying safe up there man.
Awesome guys!
Collin James Thanks dude!
It's a gem with many people there that don't fish. Feels a bit weird when everyone who passes always ask if there's actually fish in there?
Yea we had a ton of people ask too. Such a cool place! Do you live there?
@@TheElementWild yeah I live in St.paul
Nice bass!
Thanks Kaley. You too!
This is why I love living in MPLS
Cool place when we were there for sure!
Glad I found your channel, enjoyed very much, looking forward for more. Make of your backpack?
Thanks dude! I really appreciate it and look forward to getting more fishing content out soon. If you’re referring to the single strap pack, it’s made by Simms. It’s an older model, but I’m sure there’s a newer version out there.
I’m going to be in Minneapolis next month for work. Pretty much right downtown. I have one day to fish any suggestions on where to go.
Ryan White awesome! As you can see, there are some good opportunities. We had the most luck on moving water. The lakes are pretty but didn’t hold as many fish. I would check out Minnehaha creek.

The Element awesome!! Thanks a ton for the reply!

Mason Stanley Awesome! Thanks for the compliment Mason! What is your favorite fishing video of ours?
@@TheElementWild ive been watching them for the past hour and i really liked the tons of trout on when you were in the bozeman area
@@TheElementWild i love fishing especially fly fishing i live in guntersville Alabama!
Oh nice! That trip was a blast! You live in big largemouth country then!
@@TheElementWild yeah!
What size and weight rods are y’all using? Awesome video. I’m a MN native and enjoy finding little hidden gems. Tons of lakes and streams to try out
Thanks man! I believe we had fives and eights With us, but pretty much stuck with the five weights most of the time. I’d love to go back sometime with more time to explore!
So I saw small mouth, large mouth, sunnies, blue gills, crappies, a northern was that other fish a sheepshead? I've only ever seen giant sheep head
happyyy go luck it’s actually a freshwater drum! There was also a creek chub in there that we caught several of on beadheads.
Hey man just wandering what flies you were catching those smallies on. Thanks.
Sure thing dude! A variety of flies really, but the most surprising and effective was a euro style very bushy Hare’s Ear size 12. I was tight lining it with the current, bouncing in the bottom from time to time. Hit that subscribe button if you want to see more vids like this one! Thanks man!
I love this! I am a fly fisher land locked in Houston. What app are you using Fishbrain? Please tell us
cbl0325 At the time we were using google maps to find city parks and such. Now we use OnX quite often like in this video: ua-cam.com/video/-WPhEotl5l0/v-deo.html
When’s the next video in the urban series?
Here ya go! Just released... ua-cam.com/video/rWRORHuU8dM/v-deo.html
What rods?
Croaker Smoker a couple of Orvis Clearwaters in 5wt and 8wt and a Cabela’s 5wt.
Yo, where in MN were those smallies caught?
Hey Sam, I believe it was Minnehaha creek near the park. Beautiful area. We were in town for the TRCP summit and had a good part of the day to fish before we flew out. Do you live in MN?
I see people catching fish near the stone arch bridge
Maybe smallies idk what they are
I think we fished there for a bit. Beautiful spot!
Any plans to go check it out??
The Element Maybe. The waters dirty. I’d opt for a confluence of some type.
There are hidden trout streams across southern MN. Ft Ridgely near Fairfax is good. The Root river near Rochester maybe good. Idk
It looked like if you spent some time there you could have a chance at a few carp in the shallows.
Sadly, we didn’t get to venture far from the metro area. Pretty much restricted ourselves to the public transportation, which actually made it quite fun and challenging.
We really wanted to catch a Musky. Can you do that close to Minneapolis?
The Element You’ll have to check the message boards or some of the bait shops
Lot of Muskie in the lakes
A bit of a cliffhanger just showing a 2 sec clip from the back of a cop car. What happened?
Haha! Yea we were in a hurry. We had to mail hooks back and the airport PO was so far from our gate that the cop gave us a ride so we weren’t late.
Wow! Loved the video and all the great shots of local water! Check out my display of fishing in MN!
Twin Cities Outdoors Thank you!
This is OK, but it totally ignores the best water in the Twin Cities area.
Where’s that?
Minneapolis is full of self-righteous dweebs who have no clue. I’ll say it for you.
Definitely better places to fish, though.
