Fishing DOWNTOWN MINNEAPOLIS for Hazardous Fish!

- Sometimes fishing in Minneapolis/St.Paul can be tough. This video is a good example of that. Didn’t have much time to fish but I dangled some lures in the sippi river for bass and buffalo. Fished some weird structures and a mud flat that had lots of buffalo and carp feeding. Ended up finishing with 2 different species, but that just gives me more motivation to get back out there!
Feel free to drop a like if you enjoyed, it really helps out the channel!

the bigmouth buffalo is one of the longest living freshwater fish species and a real gem of a catch.
native, handle with care and well done youngster.
To answer a few things 1. He is at Father Hennepin Bluff Park in Minneapolis. 2. The plant and creek are a spillway part of a small Hydroelectric station there. 3. You can easily get where he is using the lower trail, maps are posted around the park.
Thank you!
Why he didn't jus Google his location. Who knows
“At a weird place in Minneapolis” at the banks of one of the most popular parks in Minneapolis at the historic St Anthony Main bridge near the biggest University in MN.
@@orlandonixon1660 because it is jerkbait
Wow I wish we had video back in the day all we had were Instamatic cameras. LOL
I know a spot down there that you can catch consistent 4-5 lbs Bronzebacks using just a hook & live crawfish. I got photos to prove it
Anyone ever go behind the brick waterworks on e river Rd? Access?
The promo screenshot is a FAKE !!!
So Nice to see kids fishing! I'm a boomer and we used to do this back in my day late 60ies 70ies & 80ies. Grew up in Wisconsin and we would skip school some times to go fishing in the spring! Don't tell my Mom (she knows). God bless you Boys
The catfish heads might be left behind from river otters feeding on them.
Ayyyyeeeee I looked at the building and was thinking that is MPLS... Shoutout to you for putting MPLS on the map.
I’m totally not searching for you in lakes to get a picture
We used to fish down there almost everyday during summer vacation (lake 60s/early 70s). Take the 6 bus to get downtown and walk across the island to the other side. Can of corn to get started. Carp. Channel cats, sheepshead, smallmouth, crappies and saugers. Few northerns too.
I live in Minneapolis I've always wanted to get to spot you caught the small mouth bass but never figured out how to get down there
Go to East river flats by umn campus. I catch a decent amount of pike walleye and smallies there. Primarily on spinner baits.
What is the snag rate

there’s not a lot of industry that happens on the Mississippi in downtown, so the fish are likely fine for eating. Just because it’s a city doesn’t mean everything is “toxic”.
The main reason stuff is toxic in that part of the river is cuz of the wreckage of the old 135 bridge. Lot of stuff leaked into the water that wasn't properly cleaned up. There's also the roof depot in East Phillips (across 94) which leaked arsenic into the soil and groundwater for the last century, and the damage it's done has been horrifically downplayed by the industries that controlled the city council and mayor's office since the early 1900s.
@@TransDrummer1312 oh gross. I didn’t know about that.
hey man! so one tip for ya is to give your jerkbait a good pause. like, just a 2-3 second pause is all you need this time of year. 95% of the fish eat it on the pause, especially in current because it is just drifting along.
I tried that for a while and even went to longer 5+ seconds pauses just didn’t put it in the video. Must’ve just been throwing the wrong bait that day. Thanks for the recommendation I appreciate it!
If you don’t mind me asking where is this spot
Right in Down town Minneapolis by the stone arch bridge 👍
Where do I buy your followers ? 😊
Easy river parkway, I know this area! Went to the U for a few years. West river parkway (and the river in general) smells like sewage, but it’s nice to have woods in the middle of the city!
Great video with two nice fishes! The bridge could be a good catfish spot too (my favourite fish species in good old Europe!) Love your videos! 👍
Thanks a lot! I agree, might have to go back there and try to catch some cats 🤷♂️
Minnesota is s tough place to fish but when you find the fish its fun
Big Minnesota fisherman also?
For big fish 100%
Just got to know a place for every type of weather and learn what they bite on in parts of the year and even then you’ll get skunked lol
That’s why saltwater fishing is better bitch😂😂😂 … also, Minnesota is a blue state. It really disappointed me.
Yep, and don't tell people your secret spot
Such a cool spot to fish! I’ve walked on that white bridge before and thought what fish lived below
There’s pretty much everything there because it’s the sippi 🤷♂️
Is the hazardousness of the fish the reason u are holding it so far away from you in the video thumbnail?
Minnesota honestly underrated for bass fishing
Just happened upon this. AWESOME video! New subscriber.
Throw some in line spinners bruh. They kill walleye at the cr dam like that. If you haven't tried one before, they're excellent with a swim bait or pork lure. That and some braided line n leader and your as invincible as can be. Just remember the razor😉 see u out there dude.
You can catch anything out of the sippi there.
If you go on the walking bridge you can see the giant snapping turtles in that area. They are probably leaving those heads everywhere. If you go to the other side of the river just before the water barge the fishing is much better for game fish. I used to walk that area on my lunch break for years. Watch out for the lunatic duck that will try to kill you😂
you should try fishing for flatheads where the vermillion comes out into the mississippi river in redwing i can take you on my boat if you want too, there is 30 plus in there.
One time, I caught a turtle while fishing in one of the 10,000 lakes
I drove by there a few times I already know where I live the Mississippi River is full of some cancerous fish
Awesome video fishing mn ❤
Thank you 🙏
I never had the guts to walk across that metal beam in the beginning lol 😂
you need some tattoos on your forearms
that’s zesty
Those old doors and openings are tunnels the mills used to use for water power
That buffalo is probably so stinky 😅😅
Surprisingly not 🤷♂️
I used to go down there a ton as a kid, full of snappers and crayfish too!
In crocs lol a real Minnesotan
I have got to fish here!!
Landing that Buffalo was a an adventure 😂
I always preferred Brainerd, lol!
Where/lakes to fish the most sun fishes nowadays? They seem to be so smart now even the bait right at their mouth but they won’t bite..😂. Missing the days with fried crispy sun fishes with spicy tasty fish sauce and hot steam rice…
Eagles be eating the catfish
Paddle boat? That's a full blown pontoon
Catchin smallies next to the somalis
That's some good eatin
Amazing settings
Fish on! MNice
Very underrated state
Why hazardous?
I live in Minnesota I have no problem catching fish and I don’t have to use my boat there is sweet spots everywhere
You know a couple with nice fishing docks ? Me and my girl tryna find a couple
you good old man da fisha man
Cool stuff dude!
No ticks?
Minnesota love
I love minnesota but land of 10,000 lakes more like land of 10,000 lakes with no fish.
You must not know how to fish 😂
craziest thing ive heard yet.
Insane take and wrong
Bro just learn where fish stay and get better it’s different from southern fishing
What?!?! Boy has no idea how to fish then
Cool video
Buffalo on a swim-bait was wild
I can’t believe he ate it so viciously 😂
it’s pretty common if you find a dam and they’re spawning
You're Fishing by the Old Flour Mills....and EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE FISHING
Sick video!
Thank you bro 🙏
