The Gooseberry River flows for 23 miles thru Minnesota's North Shore area into Lake Superior. A barrier falls blocks migrating fish about a half mile rom the lake. Most of the inland fish are brook trout with an occasional brown or rainbow trout. Summer is not the best time to fish as the waters often get too warm in the afternoon. There are several large, scenic waterfalls for public viewing. This is accessible from a free public parking lot just off Hwy 61 near Gooseberry State Park.

Reminds me of the streams here near mountain and langlade in Wisconsin. Absolutely beautiful nothing matches that type of scenery an stream when you can go and land some aggressive inland trout

Upper Gooseberry is pretty good! Got a few 12-16in brookies up there - lots of great sections for em and deep pools

I've been to the falls before. Nice seeing the area above them. Great video.

July. I recommend fishing during the spring or fall when the water is cooler and the fish more active.

I love my tenkara rods for all arrowhead trout fishing. They pack up so small and can be worked with far less room. You owe it to yourself to try one. Far superior control of you fly and line as well.
