This is great! Those dang cord switches seem to be the way the lamp industry is going, and it's a weird move, because who wants to have to reach behind a table to find a lamp switch?
Looking to get a new nightstand lamp, but all of the lamps in my price range seem to be touch controlled, which i hate. Im planning to modify one to use a simple manual on off switch instead

Nice job! Love the over kill wire management. Most all hotel lamps have switches at the base. Don’t know why household lamps don’t?

I’m guessing you don’t use a ‘ground’ wire, even with a metal bodied lamp?
The manufacturer didn’t have one, so I wasn’t going to add one. I’m not sure if ever seen a basic lamp with a 3rd wire.
The lamp is probably double insulated, so they are able to get away with no ground.
