That's why John is always referred to as The Voice. When he was touring Germany he appeared in from of well over 100,000 fans and sang this 'live' to the crowd. It's on video somewhere on UA-cam. Love this man.

You did it justice by listening all the way through. I am so put off by others supposedly reviewing a song and they keep stopping to hear the sound of their own voice
Thank you for this great reaction. Many of John's songs still have relevance today. His music is powerful and inspiring. John is the GOAT!! He can sing anything in any genre. Please keep reacting to him. And always react to him live. His studio albums are great, but he truly shines on stage, and you get to experience his tangible connection to his audience. He's humble, funny, loves his fellow humans, and always gives 110% in every performance. A great one to react to is John singing 'Help' live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Another great one to react to is 'When The War Is Over' from the Whispering Jack concert. There are many, many more that I could suggest, but these are a good place to start.

One of the songwriters took it to his record company and they rejected it as not having commercial value. John got the demo and recorded it despite actually being denied permission. It went to No.1 in Australia, West Germany and Sweden, no.3 in Ireland and Switzerland, 6 in the UK and charted in a number of other European countries (barely rated in the US).
He's the truth!!! And the teller of truth has no friends.
And it pretty much became a national icon in the Australian music history.

Saw John perform this when he was 70, he was still as powerful and engaging.
This song went around the world and John has given his permission to use it for certain special causes. This song gave him the moniker, ' THE VOICE ' because he IS ! John sings a number of songs that deliver a message for greater good in the world. eg ' Age Of Reason, That's Freedom, Love's In Need, See The Banners Fall, Beyond The Call, Reasons, Chain Reaction'. I Can also tell you when John Farnham recorded this song he was in deep hole where he had no money and that song and album change him forever.

The thing I liked about your review is that like so many other reviwers stop & start, and that craps me off. You didn't do that & I love it. Now, it's time to listen to Farnham's cover version of The Beatles Help! His singing in that is off the charts. You'll love it. I just decided to subscribe to your channel.

He is an amazing musician.
When the composer was asked if Farnham could record it, he said "h*ll no!" but Farnham recorded it anyway, and when the song became a massive world wide hit, and the money started rolling in, he was very glad Farnham ignored his wishes.

Suggest you check out Johns version of "Black Dog" which is only audio as he only used it as a concert "warm up" usually. On one ocassion the sound Tech, actually recorded it...unbelievable result.

Have a look at John Farnham and the Melbourne symphony orchestra song is "long way to the top if you want to rock n roll !". Its an ACDC song, cover by john in this same concert i reckon just as good as ACDC even maybe a bit better but being both aussie bands hard to pick.😊👍🇭🇲🦘shout out from Aus my brother 🇭🇲👍🦘😊
