EDIT: Fighter Guide will be slightly delayed to either Late Wednesday(6/23) or Thursday(6/24)! This is just to make sure the maintenance changes to PAs are thoroughly tested + accurate to the guide! Sorry for the inconvenience! Please forgive me for dropping some rhymes at the start, I just couldn't help it when I was doing the voice over T_T. Anyways, Thank you all for watching, and I really appreciate every single one of you! I hope you're all able to learn something today and use it to make the game more fun! Also I'll be live on www.twitch.tv/everydere @ Tues/Weds(4pm-7pm PDT)! Come stop by and say hi on those days! I love talking with all of you! Edit(6/19/2021): A lot of people have been suggesting Force as a Subclass! If you're looking for some great PP recovery, this is a great option! Thank you everyone for sharing! Edit#2(6/20/2021): Optimal Range as stated by a comment, is indicated by your reticle turning Orange along with some Purple Sparks when you attack! Thank you viewers who mentioned this, as this was completely missed in the video!
Yup! Homing Darts is surprisingly very very good for AoE mobbing on Ranger assuming you don't have another mobbing weapon. It's super spammable, has really good damage per shot, and beats out just holding normal attacks. Couple this with RaFo and you have virtually infinite PP for infinite homing darts during PSE bursts!
@@everydere Even better during PSE bursts, if you have a Force subclass for on kill PP recovery passive, you can infinitely keep up a Fear Eraser for the duration of the PSE Burst until the mobs are wiped and the climax boss appears. You'll also kill things much faster this way. All you have to do is step back and fire away at the epicenter of the PSE Burst.
Some notes people might not know from my personal experience as a ranger: Incase anyone needs it: WA = Weapon Action PA = Photon Art TMGs = Twin Machine Guns Launcher WA grenade will go away if you swap weapon palettes. Using multi-weapon for a launcher will keep the grenade as long as you're holding that weapon! If you get hard focused by bosses, sometimes it's actually really good to just hold auto attack with Rifle, since you can always dodge while firing! Rifle Weakbullet can also be jump cancelled to skip the long animation of spinning your rifle after the shot is fired. Multi-weaponing a talis isn't a bad idea on either weapon, even if you don't have a force/techer sub, as the talis WA turret will constantly give you PP. TMGs, multi-weaponed or not, can quickly help you solo fill a weakbullet mark to purple without losing any/much mana. Personally I use this and the rifle weapon action to fire a constant stream of bullets that usually always end up hitting whatever I mark. Launcher's Multihit PA will ALWAYS hit what you're locked onto, this makes it REALLY good against enhanced enemies and those enemies that have their weakpoint on their back. Multihit also can be sidestepped out of early in the animation. Spinning around really quick while holding the Homing Darts PA will make it lock onto everything around you, really good for PSE bursts if enemies are constantly spawning all around you! Homing Darts also doesn't need to be charged! You can press it and it will fire, but you might miss an enemy or two that's slightly out of your FoV. Putting the Launcher and Rifle WA's in the subpalette will let you see their respective cooldowns for skills. Rifle will show itself being ready, but that's actually for the uncharged WA, which if you use the uncharged WA, it will show you for a second the actual cooldown of the rifle's grenade skill.
Thank you so much for sharing your Ranger tech! I love learning more from other players since finding information from other class enthusiast is slightly hard! (It's one of the reasons why I started making PSO2 guides so the comments are full of discussions about what you can do besides what's shown in the video!) Also that use of TMGs to trigger reinforce is such an insane big brain tip, I didn't even think of that. Along with the Rifle Weak Bullet jump cancelling! That gives me some disgustingly high DPS ideas now that I'ma go and test today! Thanks for sharing!
@@radityoharimurti4641 Hi Hi! Unfortunately, currently Resurgir is the only series that allows you to multi weapon both Rifle+Launcher onto one weapon. We do have other series (Foursis for Rifle and Vialto for Launcher) if you're looking for some other series! Straga (-10% DR, high damage) is reserved for Launcher as well sadly. Hope that answers your question!
One thing you forgot to mention is how to know what "optimal range" is for rifle. You know of you're in optimal range if your lock-on reticle turns orange, fyi. This also applies to twin machine guns, and I believe wired lance.
You also get large purple hit sparks on optimal range hits. So there's more visual feedback there. The reticle color is a great way to tell while you're not actively attacking.
I swear ranger always becomes my spirit animal in every phantasy star game. Every game. I love what they did with ranger so far, and can't wait for those new PAs :D
I know. And here I though OG pso2 launcher was crazy, now it has a damn laser on-tap (lol rip rod users that have to wait for blast to charge to use a laser)
Dope ranger guide. Have been leveling my hunter atm but have ranger as a subclass since i remember blight rounds being so good in pso2. Haven't dabbled much in the class yet but this helps alot!
Ranger: *Shoots blight round+throw sticky bomb* Ranger: *Tapes down the fear eraser button* Hahahah Lasers go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
ahhhh thats what it was. tag team was one of the first games i played, pretty sure i didnt even have online on ps3 when i had it. i knew the theme song but i forgot that it came from this game
Thank you! Also in December, Ranger's Spread Shot will become an AoE move if you haven't seen! This is going to end up making Rifle's AoE even more crazy!
Class video mate, can't wait for the fighter guide. Been playing twin blades and loving it but the dual sabre looks super intriguining, definitely want to give it a whirl once I figure out what it all does!
@@terranceb6517 I'm hoping it's fixed relatively soon, but if it's not thenn I'll make a note on the fighter video since rotation wise it should be relatively same post nerf (Just slightly less julien dancing)
You're welcome! There's some changes coming in on the Retem Update (I'll have a whole updated series on every class), the main thing for Ranger is spread shot will now be an AoE. This + the latest Ranger buff to Homing Bullet, will make rifle an absolutely ridiculous powerhouse in terms of AoE. There's also an update I have to make to this guide since it was made early into NGS. *Braver* is a VERY viable subclass to Ranger if you don't like Launcher. You can play RaBr and use exclusively Rifle+Bow, where Bow is your single target DPS and rifle is your AoE. You can also flip this into BrGu to take more advantage of the bow's DPS. My current setup on NGS until Retem's drop is RaBr/BrGu and it's VERY fun.
Thank you! I didnt know Fear Eraser has Hyperarmor with it. I’m using Hunter as a subclass and use hunter physique everytime I use fear eraser so I can tank dmg a bit. Also I seem to get aggro a lot of the time so dmg reduction from Hunter passive is very useful.
Yup! There's so many subclass variations you can choose for your setup that it's really nice to have a little personalization. A lot of people were suggesting Force for more PP recovery and I can confirm it works as well if not better than a Gunner sub in certain situations. Doing Ranger Hunter though, sounds like a great time for holding down fear eraser even more than other setups! Along with using Hunter's Physique, to maintain insane amounts of uptime on bosses (other launcher moves/rifle moves don't have hyper armor, so hunter's physique is actually useful here if you're aggressive).
No problem! Also if you want some true infinite laser memes, RaFo gives you virtually infinite PP from how it's setup, and heavily helps with AoE as well! It's one of my top class combos I enjoy after a viewer introduced it to me!
@@everydere rafo as in, ranger and force? yea i picked gunner mainly coz i dont feel like switching loadouts like that, and the pp regen is enough for me. also its an active skill, whilst gunner's is passive. i could proly just multi weapon it, but i already multied a rifle and launcher, and im loving it. thanks for the tips tho
Thanks for the good vid and voice. Really enjoying talis/launcher with ranger/force. Weapon ability from talis and launcher fear eraser and sometimes pp conversion is great
2 recommendations that I've seen in other videos: 1) Force as a subclass gives you access some skill to recover pp vert easily but that just depents on preferences or what you feel more comfortable 2) This is something that i think you should touch a little deeper and is that now with the new multiweapon system you don't need to carry a rifle and a launcher at the same time, just fuse a rifle with a launcher and you can use launcher's PA while using that rifle, that makes combos more faster
Yeah people have been reccomending Force and it's definitely one of the better picks for a subclass! Natural PP Recovery + PP Eradication pretty much guarantees super fast PP regen along with infinite PP when mobbing. Also I'm planning on making another video relatively soon, compiling multi-weapons and explaining the whole system + pro/cons relatively soon! Imo the only downside to multi-weapons is that 4*s have to be within the same series, but I have a feeling SEGA may change it down the road or implement a really good 4* series that evolves with you (Resurgir is good on certain classes, but relatively bad on others). Overall though, Multi weapons are definitely a step everyone should try to take once they've found their favorite class, because it heavily decreases the total cost vs making multiple weapons.
Doest just make combo faster, but makes using multipe weps easier, especially multiple main class weps since instead of upgrading two seperate weps, you nust upgrade one
@@legobricknator Yup! The cost of adding more weapons onto your multi-weapon is super cheap in comparison to making more weapons. I'm still praying to RNGesus for a Resurgir Rifle with the right preset to drop for me so I can fully make my Ranged Weapon multi-weapon T_T
Had techter as my sub for ranger for awhile because I wanted a melee option (used wand) and be able to down bosses with elements, then switch to my launcher to do a ton of damage. But I began to focus too much on spamming elements to the point where I felt like I'd be better off maining techter/force for that kind of gameplay. So instead I switched to Hunter as my subclass for the extra survivability and am using wired lance. Ranger has awesome single target damage, so wired lance is a perfect option for aoe-ing mobs. Also, using its weapon action to get up close for a surprise Spread Shot into a boss' weak point is alot of fun.
Very interesting subclass choices you've been making! I definitely have to try them all out cause I love that we can just hotswap them around with not that much loss. Also Hunter as a subclass with wired lances for AoE sounds very interesting. Wired Lance is extremely PP efficient + strongest AoE (imo) so it really compliments Ranger's kit! Thanks for sharing!
If you're safe from the boss my favorite rotation is Sticky > Multi shot/Position to a good spot > fear eraser two bars of pp > Rifle WA for pp then top off pp then repeat. Sticky should be up by the end of this rotation allowing you to do it forever. If you have enough pp you can skip the 2nd step since it's just to kill time so sticky can blow before the first pp bar ends.
Nice rotation! I do the same-ish rotation since it kinda loops itself, and then once the break phase is about to happen, I try to line up my big burst + a blight round just incase there's no other ranger
@@everydere Well, considering that 2 of the first 3 guides you put out are for my favorite classes, I'm sure I will! Also what are your thoughts on some of the 4 star weapons? I've always thought you should go with the non-resurgir series if you don't have a particular multiweapon in mind. I feel like the double saber, twin machine guns, as well as the rifle have enough AOE and dps as is not requiring for Resurgir multiweapons to be created.
@@sebasstehfish5634 Personally same exact thoughts as you! If you don't have a particular multi-weapon in mind, I can't really justify a resurgir. Resurgir imo is mostly for classes that REALLY would benefit from a multi-weapon combo vs switching the weapons in general. Hunter is a great example because Sword/Partizan + Wired Lance Multi'd on top, completely eliminates the downside of Sword/Partizan by giving you instant access to the WL's weapon action when slotted. But for classes like Gunner+Fighter, It's kinda hard to justify a multi-weapon sometimes. On Fighter, I'm not sure how often you personally side step, but the weapon actions for double saber for example are better than side stepping + will not trigger resurgir's potential. Also Vialto Double Saber's potential, allows you to basically have an easier time with PP as well. Sooo really it comes down imo to what your long term goal in the game is. Overall it is BETTER to invest in a multi-weapon down the road due to only having to apply affixes/potentials/upgrading once. But, at the current state of the game it's mostly a question of how many different classes you want to play. For example, I play Gunner and Ranger, so a Resurgir would benefit me more because I can do Rifle and slot TMG+Launcher on top. And since Rifle is a main class weapon for Ranger and Gunner, this means I maintain the hidden 10% potency buff. So TL;DR: Multi-wep is better in the long run, but harder to choose which one to invest in. Sometimes weapons you can't multi-wep have a better potential that would benefit the weapon you main more which makes multi-wep kinda useless.
@@everydere Yeah, I feel like multiweapons are primarily useful for weapon action utility and AOE if the weapon doesn't have it. I've also seen people use knuckles for example to gain more height while attacking. I think my three favorite weapons being the double saber, rifle, and twin machine guns have it all. With that being said, do you think it would be useful to multiweapon rifles and launcher? Or just switch them on the fly? I feel like rifles are great for AOE and utility whereas rifle would be nice to switch to DPS.
@@sebasstehfish5634 So I don't really have an issue with switching between rifle+launcher, but honestly multi-wepping them is definitely a good move. I'm planning on it down the line once I get this resurgir drop! The reason is because you'll be using both weapons, so it'll consolidate the costs/affixing/upgrading/potential unlocking. But more importantly you can INSTANTLY blight rounds and do it faster/more fluid if you weapon those two.
Subscribed. Good job on the content, this is very well made and concise information. May I suggest to also include weapon comparisons between the 4 stars and also affixes in your next video?
Thank you so much! And that is definitely something I should bring up! I've been thinking if I should add gearing tips in my guides but I decided to stick to just the core gameplay since it won't really change. However, as a separate video comparing the 4*s with their pros and cons along with which one makes a good fit for you, is a great idea thanks!
I actually muti-weaponed my launcher and rifle. I use Blaze Shot to keep up DPS when I need high mobility, Multi-hit for my primary dps when I'm in a safer portion or the boss has a difficult to hit weak point, and Fear Eraser when the boss is immobile. Homeing darts is great for trash mob clearing. not personally a big fan of Razing Shot or Fallen Impact.
Thanks for sharing! Personally for me, I use pretty much the same exact setup you do. I try to use Fallen Impact more for some extra damage, but a lot of times especially on a break phase, the best action for me to do on a weak point is just toss sticky bomb and get 2x extended fear erasers vs even attempting to Fallen Impact. I can't wait to see what else Ranger gets as NGS grows older!
I really love having Rangers in my MPA, anytime I don't have a Ranger or Techer present, I know it's going to be wayyyy slower than having them T_T. Also I love playing Ranger for the big lasers LOL
I went with Ranger / Gunner also for the same reasons. I also did a Multi-Weapon of the 2 star AR + Launcher with Fear Eraser to quickly switch to. However, to do a Multi-Weapon of a higher rarity weapon needs the same type of the other. I moved onto one of the 3 star ARs but no longer have the Launcher Multi-Weapon ability. Still, when working with players it's real straight up: Ranger close in and AOEs the small trash. 3-4 of the homing AR attacks will clear the trash and less clutter to get in the way of other players, and start focusing more on the big baddies. Fear Eraser for single target killing power. The AR + Gunner PP recovery gets the points needed to do Fear Eraser very soon again.
Yup that's currently my favorite combo too! Also I'm so sad we can't multi-wep any series together at 4* so we're pretty much stuck with Resurgir for now. Hopefully Braver's drop in August with Defense Quests will introduce some more 4*s for us to multi wep (I really want to do a Rifle with Launcher+TMG to switch between both ranged classes)
I think that Forcer is probably the best sub for ranger in terms of pp. There's an Active where you can exchange hp for really high PP regeneration, a passive which gives you pp when things nearby die which is great for mobbing, and there's the fact that you can even swap to rod or talis for elemental damage/knockdowns. Knockdowns if nobody is doing them is really good utility. There's also a passive which gives increased natural pp regeneration as well. Gunners only real benefit as a sub is 2 pp attack recovery passives which might be good for the use of the sticky Launcher weapon action to increase duration of fear eraser. Not much other use, I believe unless you want to use TMG, which is mainly great if you were playing Gunner main IMO.
I'm definitely going to try that out! Also there's another comment here, where someone was mentioning a unique way to use force's Talis' weapon action on top of Ranger's kit that sounds super interesting. Also you are correct! The biggest downside to a Gu sub, is you can't really use a TMG since Chain is 100% completely locked to main class only and TMGs are pretty awful without chain boost's 120% ASPD bonus. Thanks so much for sharing your Ranger tech!
Ranger has been my main ever since I started ngs on the cbt.. it's also my first pso game. Thanks for the guide! I normally blight round an enemy and melee the weak points when the enemy is down for extra dmg which is usually around 700ish dmg on average.. but now I might actually use fear eraser.
You're welcome! And I can't wait for you to try out Launcher =D! I love both weapons equally and they're both really fun. Honestly I'm mostly a Gunner main, but NGS has me leaning more towards Ranger!
Thank you! I hope you're having a great day! Also if you're looking for the fighter guide today, It's slightly delayed and I apologize T_T. It will most likely be uploaded either laaaate today or more likely, tomorrow!
One thing you you missed is Blight shot cancelling. By holding your Blight shot button and spamming jump you can fire off all 3 rounds of blight shot really quickly and this is a big chunk of ranger's burst at around 800 damage x3
Yup! I didn't include that one though since this is a general overview, and just to make sure new/beginner rangers aren't doing that 24/7 in UQs causing the blight rounds to go all over the place. Now personally on RaFo, 10000% I do it all the time on cooldown LMAO. It's seriously some ridiculous amounts of damage once you consider 3x blight rounds comes back every 10s? It honestly super elevates Ranger as a whole LOL
I play Gunner/Ranger and the Rifle is just insane in damage. I love the homing shots for that aoe feeling and also very useful for PSE Bursts so you get down the small enemies quick for more respawns and more rares
Hey yooo a fellow GuRa! I too use GuRa so I can use the rifle when i feel like it! It's really nice since Rifle is a usable weapon on Gunner, we just don't have access to blight rounds.
RaFo is one of my favorite setups especially if you do Vialto Launcher + Talis multi weapons for infinite PP. Also Pp convert is so freaking gooooooooood
i feel like theres an under appreciated tactic when it comes to keeping launcher mobile, if u use the step attack (holding normal attack and dodging) it keeps u very mobile, does decent damage, and have the chance of getting a counter attack if u dodge an attack, of course theres always the photon arts to be used as well but if repositioning i needed or low on PP its an easy work around
Yup! I do the same thing, the step attack on Launcher is veeery good too since it turns into a laser beam vs waiting for travel time on the actual shot. I play it similarly to rifle Phantom (tons of step attacks) especially if I get targeted randomly from fear eraser stealing aggro LOL. Ranger is some pretty slick fun once people put time into it. Also since this video was when the game released, there's now Bow as an option as well for ranged setups now. Rifle+Bow RaBr/BrGu is some of the greatest fun I've had in the game and is currently what I'm using. Since Braver doesn't really have any downsides as a subclass, as long as you cycle your sticky bombs/rifle grenadier/brave combat, you can dish out some nice 24/7 damage.
Thanks for the ranger guide, appreciate it very much. Have a question, which fixa should I get with armor for ranger/force class?? Is pp attack recover good or pp consumption is best for all classes cause I'm planning to max all classes?
No problem! And imo I believe PP recovery is better vs PP consumption especially in a multi-class scenario. PP recovery on something like Talis for example, can cause you to go from 0pp to max in just a couple of hits. This makes Fo/Gu really good as subclasses for PP management. Also allows you to immediately PP dump 24/7 since you can easily recover it. Hopefully someone can comment if they prefer PP consumption and their reasoning, because imo I would love to know which one is better as well!
@@everydere thank you for sharing, I played a force class myself and really lacking pp. Natural pp recovery seems the least preferred so probably left the other two choices
i highly suggest to make Launcher a multiweapon. Fusing it with rifle or twin machineguns mitigates almost all its weaknesses, you can be dodging around with tmgs and exploding chain triggers (if you main gunner) one second, and the moment an opening shows up, you are already bombarding the enemy with launcher, its an insane combination that will let you solo any veteran with little problem.
Yup! Multi weapons are a god send and allow us to really elevate our gameplay to the next level. Personally I'm making a rifle multi wep with launcher on top + TMG so I can use both Gu and Ra whenever I want =D
I'm using a launcher on my ranger, literally everytime i overaggro bosses, ray is such an overkill. We seriously need some sort of tanks or ranger having more armor utility.
Hopefully down the line, we can get some nice defense units that provide a large amount of ranged damage. Then we can just sit down and overkill the boss with the laser. Maybe in the Winter Update, Ranger will get some class skill that reduces damage taken when using Launchers!
Have you tried running hunter as a sub in that case? Obviously you won't get the extra life but it could be a decent boost to your survivability. Even though it would cut the grind in half, which I actually don't like, I wish you could pick which weapons ability weapons had, I would totally run a foursis launcher
So you are unlucky and don't get good dps in your groups. Fighter does more damage than ranger, either with dagger or saber. As many players know, the saber has a broken skill. It is possible to give 1.3~1.6k per hit. It's 5x any skill you use. So it's impossible for you to win this. Even after it's fixed next week, it will still be possible to give 1k+ on the skill's last hit. In other words, you only win in aggro if you don't have anyone who knows how to play fighter in your group.
Funny thing is, you can get on some high ground and stay still while use only normal attack to solo defeat field boss. take time quite a bit but just hold normal attack.
I play ranger main sub force so if there are to many rangers I can hit frost or fire weakness and get that PP buff. I have used that with sticky bomb to have a nearly 30 second beam on my launcher
That's a really good combination to do! You also get infinite PP essentially on Ranger from Fo subclass. Also getting elemental downs to help out the team is super good and I love it anytime people do it! I can't wait for you to try that combo out against Gigantrix today (it's wild). Thanks for sharing your subclass uses!
So I've found Fixa Termina/Attack to be what I mostly go for. I did hear fixa termina MIGHT be bugged so attack might be safer. And for rifle vs Launcher they both have their own uses, but I think Launcher is more popular from how fun it is LOL. Hope that helps you out!
when i though this is range weapon that it should deal less damage. but, its actually hits hard. btw i like the idea of multi weapon with force weapon. actually, if only do homing dart spamming, i prefer force as main and ranger as subs, due to photon flare (+50pp, means more homing darts). either one, i like the guide*
Yup! Ranged weapons in PSO2 hit surprsingly hard + they can deal consistent damage as well. There's a tip which I did not include in here (mainly because it would make UQs horrible if people don't practice it), but holding down blight rounds + spamming jump allows you to offload 3x Blight shots on the targeted point, leading to an insane 1k+ damage every 10s on Ranger Rifle. But overall melee will hit more-ish per hit but they have to chase the mob 24/7 while Rangers+Gunners can just unload high damage from any point and it is FUN LOL
Eh, I merge a talis to my launcher with techter. Pop a drifta and the talis WA for constant PP recharge and go to town on a blight tag with Fear Eraser. Might give Force a try though, extra PP and, iirc, constant passive PP recovery while still having access to talis weapons. Losing drifta might hurt DPS a bit, but it'll have better sustain.
I'm still waiting for that resurgir launcher so I can do use Rifle(base) + launcher(sub) so I can get best of both worlds. Blight rounds, mobility, Homing darts(aoe/mobbing) of rifle combined with Fear erased/multi hit damage of launcher.
i feel you, i though i have the worse luck for *4 weapon... since i got *3 with fixa fatale4 or termina4. for now i only use *3 weapon for that purpose...
NG it's my first phantasy star game. Ranger was the first class I tried. Hated it. After playing for a bit and understanding more about the game, ranger/force with a resurgir rifle/launcher multi-weapon is now my favorite thing lol.
Ayy welcome to PSO2! I hope you're really enjoying the game as well! Also Ranger really grew onto me with NGS from how fun it was after I spent some time with it. And in August you may be interested in Braver when it drops too! Braver uses a Katana and a Bow, so I'm really hopeful for SEGA to make Bow+Katana really really fun! (Personally, I've always wanted to use a bow in PSO2 but the OG variant made it really hard)
Hi hi! I have my weapon palettes bound to F1-F10 (This is done through Keyboard Settings), I then rebound them to my mouse (G502) which allows me to instantly switch between weapons. I unfortunately do not have a multi-weapon for ranger as I'm still praying to RNGesus for the perfect drop! Hope that answers your question!
I went Ra/Hu. Gives some defense stats while in Rifle mode but I like to use wired lance "whip" weapon action to Mob and recover PP. I didn't touch the launcher yet, felt clunky at first (i'm new to pso2). Def gonna try to add that to my arsenal. I've been having fun to dash in the mobs and aoe them with wired lance and switch to rifle for blight rounds + spamming razing shots when I needed range for aerial or fast moving boss. Not the best combo of classes for optimal burst/sustain dps I guess but for running around PSE burst to mob everything while supporting the group comes the climax, I found a good playstyle for me so far !
Ohh that's a good combination too! You can use Hunter's Physique to get hyper armor on everything too =D. On top of that wired lance is really fun and really good for AoE as well! Glad you found a combo that works for you! Also welcome to PSO2!
@@everydere I went in and bought a Vialto Launcher, no augments/enhancement. Did the Pelta UQ. God damn it does do dmg. Thanks for the welcome and the tips on how to better play ranger :D Now I just gotta work those 3 weapon situation in perfectly :D
@@Jeepod YAY! Glad you're able to laser and bomb the living hell out of the Peltas LOL! And good luck on working out that wep situation =D I think it's gonna work extremely well!
one thing i have been experimenting a lot with is dive attack spam on downs, It comes out stupidly fast and averages 200-300 damage a hit, which is really really good.
@@Dx_Ach Thankies for the tip! I'm definitely slotting that on my subpallet since it's pretty sparse except for a couple stuff. I also have both Rifle+Launcher weapon actions bound to the end of my subpalette to keep track of the CDs of Grenadier+Sticky Bomb if you haven't tried that yet!
Yup there's also a possibility to use Force as a subclass which gives you infinite PP when mobbing and infinite PP in general on Ranger! Also I needa finish making my vialto launcher now that gigantrix is out!
I got a question, can we rangers use Technic skills from tje Techner as a sub-class? Or do we need multi-weapons for that? Cause i wanna use my rifle but use say Lighting and Wind Techs. Lastly, if i do need a multi weapon for this, do i need the wand or can i use a Talis too? Be cool to use A rifle with a Talis weapon to also use those Tech skills.
This helped me alot. Im lv15 Ranger sub gunner and still got beated up by froggs daityl everysingle pse burst. I didnt know that i can use skills from thr skill tree lol
Glad I was able to help you out! If you got any questions, I can answer them! Also if you're looking for a cheap alternative for weapons, the new evolcoat series is pretty cheap from defense quests and the potential atm Im having tons of fun with!
@@everydere i got many questions, like how to get more meseta? Daily i couldnt do them cuz i didnt get to 1184 Bp yet. Can i transfer meseta and weapons from pso2 base to new gens?
@@phatduy6420 Okay so at the moment, meseta gaining is unfortunately locked to basically just weeklies (500k a week). You can grind mobs for meseta but it's something realllly small like 30k-40k an hour at best. For transferring meseta, this is unfortunately impossible from PSO2 to NGS. BUT! You can transfer gear from PSO2 to NGS (primarily 15-star and 13-star units), via the storage. ATM I'd say your main priority right now is definitely get to 1184 BP as soon as possible, since that opens up Urgent Quests in NGS + unlocks every system in the game. Afterwards it's a pretty small investment to get your gear started up so I would definitely get Red Box Units for free, followed by the new Evolcoat series since they are pretty cheap overall unless you're playing Braver. Hope that helps you out! ALSO as a quick little note, ignore fixas completely. They are super RNG and will just drain you of your meseta. Best bet for Fixas honestly is just wait for SEGA to let them be transferred or wait til SEGA puts in a way to get them easier vs praying to RNGesus
You use gunner for PP recovery? Did you not try Force? With that skill tree you can maintain your laser for the entire duration of a PSE Burst and you will almost never run out of PP in any other situation. 100% uptime on launcher and you never have to worry about building PP.
Yup! I usually switch between the two and am now leaning more towards Force after reading a comment here about using Talis' WA on top of Launcher! Usually on Gunner I don't run into PP problems either, but Force's PP eradication realllly sets it beyond the curve in PSE bursts for mobbing. Also Fear Eraser + Fo's PP Eradication is hilarious as you just hold it down and delete everything for max PP LOL. Thankies for sharing the subclass input by the way! I hope you're having fun in NGS!
I have a nasty combo that i use.. i started as a ranger ( first time playing pso 2,btw), but now loving the dual saber as well. what I do is, i save up my lvl2 whirlwind, and when boss break phase starts, i throw my weapon ( you need deadly archer skill for that) like a spinning wheel, use ultimate..and throw it again. dual saber ultimate gives you instand max charge on whirlwind, It is a nasty amount of dmg.
Ooooooof That is a disgustingly high DPS combo you've got there LOL! Yeah double sabers are ridiculously strong and doing that combo, I honestly would have never thought of that! Also Welcome to PSO2! You might enjoy the next class that's coming in August called Braver! It's a Katana wielding user who also can use bows, so imagine Vergil from Devil May Cry, but also having the ability to just unload on everyone with a bow!
@@everydere damn.. basically vergil + hanzo from overwatch? also, thank you i really like the game especially the combat, the environment and boss mechanics.
Gunner sub is decent I prefer fighter though because if the boss gets put into down phase its passive skill for down damage makes them rangers already high dps even higher. It also has some pp stuff.
Same! I usually use RaGu/RaFo as my general purpose subs, but RaFi if it's a UQ is absolutely disgusting on downed phases especially with a perfectly timed sticky bomb for PP.
blazing shot has low accuracy even on mid range, probably thats one thing I hate when using rifle. But overall I do enjoy the class especially with it's trademark skill, blight round.
Yup Blaze Shot's low accuracy makes it kinda awkward at midrange, but atleast it's some mobility for us to drift around with! And I really enjoy Ranger as well, I am very excited to see what winter brings to the class too! (Winter is the Level 30 Uncap + more class skills)
blazing shot is actually pretty good to reposition yourself on those fat belly mobs weakpoint which is their butt.. some time they turn around too quickly. Usually launcher is best for them but sometime when i feel i need some rifle action going, then it can be pretty handy.
Vialto Launcher lets you multiweapon Talis for infinite PP by setting a talis weapon action up before doing Launcher shenanigans. Resurgir lets you multi with a Rifle for easier blight rounding (+ This makes your sticky bomb when you switch to Rifle not disappear). So it's pretty much down to preference. Now... if you don't care at ALL about multi weapons. Technically Straga Launcher (this is a new weapon from Gigantix) but you have to be aware it's potential is -10% Damage resistance on top of it, so you might die. Hope that helps you out!
I personally use Ra/Fo myself and i think ranger lacks of guard action is quite a big problem in ngs, especially when you fight something like vet datyl. So I highly recommend anyone who want to play ranger to make a multiweapon that has a guard action.
I started using RaFo wayyy more after making this video, and seeing a lot of suggestions including using Talis/Rod actions! Personally for me, I've just been side step dodging all the attacks for more counter damage, but there's times where I would really enjoy having an actual guard action. Maybe we'll see Ranger obtain a guard action in the Winter Class Skill update!
I use Rifle/Rod multi so i can guard with Rod's WA. I have no luck farming good Resurgir Rifle, so i use Foursis, and its weapon potency suits Rod's WA for extra protection.
@@velvetra29Foursis is probably the best series right now, especially when fighting gigantix where you will get one shot when hit. 50% damage cut really help in dps, cause you can’t do any when you are ded.
I'd love to play ranger but I got tired of doing musical weakpoints with all the other rangers, I very been playing gunner and having a blast with it. I'll go back to ranger eventually though, because who doesn't love launcher go boom boom?
Yup that's one of my biggest things I'm trying to decide upon tbh LOL. Ranger or Gunner. Gunner I really love not having to deal with blight rounds + pure unadultered speed. But Ranger mannnn Launcher is just a different beast that makes me so happy to fear erase everything
Thank you for the compliment! Also you're in luck because I main both of those! So RaGu would basically treat Gunner is more of a PP battery due to how TMGs function, this leaves RaGu and RaFo being functionally the same. GuRa however, is completely different because Gunner's Rifle while good, really benefits from Ranger's extra goodies for it. The main difference between the two is that Gunner will be using primarily TMGs because you CAN NOT use anything Chain Trigger related, unless you're using a TMG in your hands. Chain is pretty much essential to TMGs in terms of function (Chain Boost gives you a 120% ASPD bonus which makes TMGs good). GuRa however, allows you to use Launcher and Rifle with basically no issue on top of the TMGs. So, overall it's a hard choice to make on which one you play, so I personally play both of them LOL. If I'm feeling more close quarters and acrobatic, I'll pick GuRa for the day, but if I'm feeling more shooty and mid/far range I'll usually play RaGu so I get access to blight rounds. Also on top of this, the only thing you lose on GuRa is just blight rounds! So basically TL;DR: GuRa = Emphasis on TMGs but Rifle+Launcher are usable, RaGu = Emphasis on Rifle+Launcher, gets blight rounds, but TMGs are virtually unusable due to no chain trigger. I hope that helps your decision!
Whats on ur opinion on me swapping the attac button for my weap action on rifle? I use it because i dont wanna stay in one place using a rifle and it does the attack in one press
So my weapon action is actually bound to *SHIFT* my back palette change was remapped to "C"! (this frees up an extra slot on your palette). Now if you're on Xbox and they won't let you rebind, then you can totally just replace your normal attack or have an extra slot for it. Although! Be aware if you side step dodge with rifle, you won't be able to counter attack if you don't have the normal attack bound! Hope that helps you out!
I'd have two palettes where it's like this (My weapon action is bound to Shift to free a slot up): *Rifle Focus / General AoE:* > Rifle Normal Attack > Blaze Shot > Homing Darts (AoE) Back Palette: Launcher Normal > Multi Hit > Fallen Impact *2nd Palette (Launcher/Single Target DPS Focus)* > Launcher Normal > Multi Hit > Fear Eraser Back Palette: > Fallen Impact > Rifle Normal (to instantly blight rounds) > Blaze Shot Hope that helps you setup your multi-weapon palettes! Some other comments on the video mentioned their setups and they're all pretty interesting too so I'd check them out or ask the people who posted them =D!
Roughly how often are Full Skill Tree Resets given out and/or what’s a good price in the trade shop? Because I got shafted by someone giving me advice (I literally started playing 3 days ago)
Hi Hi! Stack as much ranged weapon potency as you can, so for a super budget setup: Precision III Gigas Precision I/II Soul/Note depending on budget >4th slot for whatever gives more ranged proficiency. You can adjust it based on how much N-Meseta you're willing to invest, but as long as all 4 slots are filled you're gucci. Hope that helps you out!
Yup! So I've been mostly on FFXIV recently due to all the update drops, but NGS is definitely a solid pick to play. NGS averages around ~3k players a day which sounds like a little, but it's an MMO and mostly a single player RPG. It's also free to play so there's not too much to lose and the base game (PSO2) has 8 years worth of content if you ever get curious about it. Now the cons are that it's REALLY fast to get to cap/run out of things to do since the game recently did come out + Covid hitting the development hard. That's also a pro though since it'll mean you can easily catch up to other players as well. And another con is the game is approximately 100-ish GB due to base PSO2 integrated into NGS (SEGA is planning on splitting the two later on). Overall, I recommend checking out NGS if you're curious, it has the best customization for your character out of any MMO and is genuinely really fun! If you have any questions, I'm down to answer any! I haven't uploaded in a bit (it's been 3 months F), but I'm always active replying to people's questions.
Quick note: Rifles WA does not give invulnerability frames at the start, as was stated, but towards the end of it, during the recovery frames....which can already be dash canceled anyway.
@@everydere Yeah, for a while I thought it was bugged because I'm actually very proficient when it comes to perfect dodging and parrying, but then I decided to preemptively dodge instead of reacting to an attack, and what do ya know, they gave us frames at the end of the dang thing. Talk about a blunder on their end.
@@comboer3334 I feel like that also applies to other dodge/weapon action skills too. Cause I noticed coming from PSO2 to NGS, we can't "reactive" dodge to things like Luster/Hero/Phantom. Instead we have to preemptively dodge when we see the telegraph. I kinda hope they change the startups so it's more in line with PSO2 cause I miss how fluid those dodges felt.
@@everydere yeah I hate having to prediction dodge instead of reaction dodge; this to a lesser extent fucks with my parry timings too as sometimes I will eat the damage even though the counter hit sound happens and the visual happens but here I am taking a hit and not doing the counter damage (and in some cases getting knocked back/down) because SEGA fucked up something. I blame spaghetti code.)
@@ShiningDarknes Yeah I noticed earlier when doing a Pettas fight on Techter. I would have to input my parry AFTER the attack went off for it to register which was ??????. I'm blaming lag on that one today since the servers were freezing upwards to a minute last night LOL. But in general, I really miss the reaction style dodging of PSO2 vs the prediction dodging we do in NGS. Hopefully SEGA gives us the ability to cancel into counters/parries faster as the game grows older.
Hi hi best equipment right now (cost efficient wise) would be to specialize in Resurgir Rifle with Launcher Multi'd on this. The total cost of making a Resurgir weapon would be cheaper than two weapons. In terms of armor, I would suggest the Qual De Armor series as they are decently cheap-ish and able to be obtained. Now in terms of Augments, unfortunately I can not answer this for you because I'm still testing Augments + Waiting for more theory crafting to appear to find a good investment. Hope that helps answer some of your questions!
@@everydere It does somewhat. What about if we didn't have to worry about cost? What would you say? I haven't got into multi weapons yet because I'm too scared to sacrifice my +40 launcher and rifle.
@@DeltastrikeX Personally, if we didn't have to worry about, on Ranger specifically I'd say Resurgir would still be the best overall due to Ranger's ability to actually use the potential (Ranger's only defense options are Side Stepping + Rifle WA). Now in terms of more niche uses, Vialto Launcher may be better due to even more PP recovery so you can PP dump more. Also Vialto has a higher %damage potential, meaning you would obtain more damage using Vialto vs Resurgir base wise. But in general, I would probably opt for more crit rate vs pp recovery, along with Resurgir's ability to attach multiple multi weapons on it (This heavily simplifies getting hard but REALLY good affixes on multiple weapons). EDIT: Also! I forgot to mention, it really comes down to how much you want the convenience of Multi-Weapons. For me, I don't really have an issue switching weapons, but if I had a multi-weapon it definitely would be a smoother experience.
Idk if this has been asked or not but For launcher, normal atk vs charged atk on single enemy, which one is better? Some said normal atk, others say otherwise
I'ma be honest, I just switch between the two depending on what I need. Generally I'll use the normal attack more often than the charged because it's just more immediate damage, but I also primarily use the dodge attack on Launcher as I fish for counter damage. Hope that helps answer your question!
I wish there was a way to hold down the attack button to spam launcher normal attack much like rifle.. I hate having to repeating click the left mouse button.
Yeahhh I kinda hope SEGA adds that as a function double saber on Fighter is another where you can't do it because holding down normal attack will cause you to blow up your whirlwinds instead of using Deadly Archer
So in the long run, a rifle multi wep with Launcher or vice versa would be cheaper since you'll only have to upgrade/affix/potential one weapon. Now the downside, is that the only series which allows that is called Resurgir and the potential may not be what you're seeking. So overall, IMO I would probably do it just to save on costs since the DPS difference would be pretty minimal overall. I hope that helps clear it up and helps your choice!
@@AstralHippo Ohhh I hope you have tons of fun with Ranger! Personally, I just started going deep into Force and I'm having a great time with it too. All the classes in this game make it hard for me to choose a main T_T.
@@everydere yeah I think so too, ranger looks really fun, force was a great first character to use because it's quite simple, and very easy to use the right elemental weakness to take down mobs etc
Tier list would be pretty much everything is equal in NGS. At the moment, Fighter would be the strongest class because Julien Dance is still glitched (someone please correct me on this if it's been fixed). Now I will make a video explaining my rankings currently, but this is basically how I would rank everyone (assuming Julien Dance is nerfed): **Be aware, this is all my personal opinion, and all the classes are literally within 1-2% of each other and all have different functions, so damage isn't king in NGS** *Ranking (Strong to Slightly Less Strong)* FiHu: (Fi = High Single Target DPS, Hunter subclass for AoE. Easy to do good with + has a high skill ceiling) Gunner (Extremely High sustain DPS with High Burst when played absolutely optimally, slightly annoying "rev up" time with getting 120% Chain Boost, Ridiculously high skill ceiling+effort to play optimally) Ranger+Force (Tied for their ability to keep 24/7 high uptime + provide GREAT support via Blight Rounds & Elemental Downs, also extremely simple to pick up) Hunter (Jack of all trades, true middle ground, high skill ceiling, simple to pick up but hard to master) Techter (Wand Parry is amazing, Wand in general is amazing, but realistically there's a Techter everywhere so you lose value on Shifta+Deband since you'll have it all the time.) Overall though, this tier list is completely useless since all the classes pretty much perform at the same exact level, and it all comes down to player skill (So I would honestly pick a class that you find the most fun, otherwise you will extremely under-perform). Hope that helps your question!
fighter is good for sub, but only if you just want to see big numbers on downed enemies for a short time xD (still good tho ngl but maybe hunter is best for launcher?) [IMO]
Fighter definitely is a really good sub especially on those downed enemies! I forgot how much damage I was doing per tick, but it was a Blight round reinforce+Break phase+Fi sub on pettas sword and it absolutely decimated him LOL. Also Hunter is a nice choice since flash guard synergizes directly with PAs that leave you immobile, but hunter physique also allows you to repeatedly tank hits and not be interrupted!
Yup! Especially rifle with the base, because Rifle works as a mainclass for Ranger and Gunner meaning you won't lose the 10% main class potency buff. This also lets you switch between playing Ranger or Gunner main classes since you'd have Rifle+Launcher+TMG all in one!
It seems Launcher WA, sticky bomb, takes about 14-15 seconds to go off and replenish 100pp, how much PP would one need for Fear Eraser to last 15 seconds? From full PP, considering the startup pp cost? I only have 126pp and I just barely run out before the WA goes off, unless I watch the WA timer on my sub palette and try to time the PA. Anyone with good affix gear want to share how much PP they get and if they can just chuck the WA and start the beam PA without needing to time anything?
I can confirm at 156-ish PP, I have to still time it otherwise I'll run out of PP. So my guess is maybe it's somewhere around 200 PP? I'm thinking 200 PP it gives juuuust enough leeway to keep fear erasing the whole time, but there is definitely a high chance i'm wrong LOL. Hopefully someone can help with some calculations on how much PP you need for 24/7 Fear!
@@everydere Perhaps the drain/second is percentage based, to make it impossible to braindead the WA/laser. So the real question is, what do you do for the 7ish seconds before starting the laser while the sticky ticks down? Just Launcher Charge Grouping normal attacks?
@@Kromlech06 Yeah its possible its %-tage based, usually what I do is fire 1 normal attack + 1 charged group attack, start the laser and usually with that timing, sticky bomb will fill up my PP somewhere during fear eraser. I think somewhere out there, someone has a more optimized what to do inbetween (Probably Multi-weapon Rifle blight round + 1 charged normal)
What guns do you have and What's happenin? If you only have a rifle, check out the personal shop and grab a Launcher ASAP since it'll help round out your weapon more. If you're completely new to NGS, make sure you hit up all Cocoons for 20 SP since A LOT of what makes Ranger weapons shine is actually locked behind your skill tree. Definitely reply so I can help you out!
i found gunner to still do more dps than ranger. at least when thoroughly tested and fully geared/augmented on both classes. my gunner def got the lowest time between the 2 on the Fleeting Flight cocoon trial with a low time of 1:02. with ranger it was much slower. but maybe its support makes up for it? Also i shuld add im a Gu/Hu too so no manipulation of pp through force
So there's some funny Ranger runs for cocoons where they use Blight Round's extreme damage burst and just UNLOAD along with a completely held Fear Eraser+Hyper Armor abuse from Fear Eraser, and it comes out to really fast times LOL. However, I also find Gunner does more DPS than Ranger especially when you play it optimally. Where Ranger has more ranged on their abilities, I think it purposely has lower damage than Gunner due to blight rounds utility. Gunner has that consistently high sustain damage along with REALLY high bursts every 81~100 chain (PB Spam on 100 chain is absolutely disgusting damage). Edit: Also on top of that GuHu setup, I love that setup too! I am kinda dabbling in GuFo for grinding but the extra utility from getting extra Wired Lance properties on Hunter makes me love it for being able to reach weak points extremely fast for more PB spam. Also Sword's completely Unga Bunga sword counter is really freaking fun to do, and can completely iFrame through something like Nex Veras' triple head laser hit (you can do this on Sroll but there's a higher chance you might mess up and get clipped).
@@everydere i dont feel like im a good enough player to play melee classes. im not a fan of countering. im perfectly okay with dodging and im good at it. but melee just has too much going on for me with my personal playstyle. ill use rifle for spread out enemeis with the homing bullets but twin machine handguns foreverythign else....... Also dont forget with the full release your main class weapons actually do 10% more dmg than your subclass weapons whethere they r multi'd or not. this is a recent discovery made by the community....so it kind of makes multi a little less effective but not useless.
I really love the launcher. I play Te, but I sub Ra just so I could use a launcher as my main wep, although it's probaby pretty subpar as far as synergy goes xD
Hey, as long as you're having fun that's all that matters tbh! Personally I use GuRa which is not as good as other combinations, just so I can use Launcher cause I just love it so much LOL. Although I've been playing more RaGu recently and people have been suggesting to try out Fo/Te as subclasses so I'll definitely try those combos out.
I think ranger have a problem with blaze shot Its good to have mobility but the accuracy seems a little bit of sometimes it will miss as you moving around to maintain the critical range and also if the enemy have a small hit parts or the enemy moving a lot Cmiiw
Nope you're not wrong at all! The tradeoff for the higher mobility on blaze shot, is the fact it's really inaccurate. So you're able to stay in the mid ranger perfectly, but targeting a specific weak point is what makes it more iffy. It's pretty good as a repositioning tool and chasing something like Nogleth during enrage, but it's definitely on the less accurate side.
Personally i think that Force is a better secondary for ranger. The passive and the active pp recovery is nuts, and imo only loses to gunner sub when you can atack crazy fast like when using daggers.
I agree! A lot of comments have been mentioning Force for pp recovery vs Gunner and I've tested both and love both of them. The thing that made me start shifting more towards Force was a comment here that had a interesting way to use talis while you use Launcher! Thankies for sharing your subclass input by the way!
@@everydere Yeah the turret Talis even if doesnt deal much the extra recovery is extra nice. Plus if you use launchers the recovery is huge and in the time you shoot once you can recover to full with the active, or help laser with the turret
Thankies! I avoided multi-weapons for now (going to turn that into a whole vid) but I agree, I should mention some recommendations like Launcher+Talis for infinite PP or Launcher+Rifle to not lose your sticky bomb when you go for blight rounds
with food I can sticky bomb then fear eraser and the bomb goes off just before I run out of pp I do it at range and in the air for maximum elevation and depression of the limited tracking ability the gun has
@@everydere lol don't know if it's good- 1x mushroom, 1x turnip, 4x peach, 2x pear, 2x turban shell that gives me- dmg rest +7%, hp +7%, pp +16 and pp recov +16% and for me right now that gives me 400hp and 150pp
Someone in discord said rifle ranger is weak and I was like, idk about that one chief, I just did 1337 on next aelio with just my weapon action. (Not even min maxed imo.)
Yeahhh I've been hearing a lot of people call it weak, but it's really deceptive honestly LOL. Once you factor in the weapon action moves (Grenadier) + Spread Shot's rapid build up when you're doing everything correct. Along with Blight Rounds hitting for a chonky damage every time you apply it, Rifle's damage is actually decently high!
The damage feels low for me, my force rod deal 150 damage per hit while my rifle does about 3x 30 hit. Using skill was able to do constant 400+ skill damage and sometime hit 2k on weak point with the rod. Both are 4* at 40 enhance level, even with blight round, dmg only increase to 50 per hit. Hopefully they will release some damage test mode like in base pso2 to confirm
@@crnpowerimmortal Yeah honestly, the easiest way for us to figure out DPS values would be a Rockbear DPS dummy. I'm hoping we can get one around Braver's release because I realllllly want to test some rotations to see what is optimal for all classes! Overall the common theme with Ranged weapons in this game, is that they hit very often, but the numbers are relatively low individually.

"homing darts" i cant emphasize enough to other Rangers to USE them for mob control during PSE Bursts! instead of just single target firing.
I didn't know ranger not using them for PSE Bursts is a thing. I've been spamming the hell out of it to clear the trash mobs
@@mugennn6815 Yup it's pretty rare but sometimes you see it unfortunately
I know its generic but I like to use gunner with ranger. Although I have gunner as my main class and ranger as a sub.

Even better during PSE bursts, if you have a Force subclass for on kill PP recovery passive, you can infinitely keep up a Fear Eraser for the duration of the PSE Burst until the mobs are wiped and the climax boss appears. You'll also kill things much faster this way. All you have to do is step back and fire away at the epicenter of the PSE Burst.
Quick and to the point, while still being just detailed enough! Way to go, Corvus

Some notes people might not know from my personal experience as a ranger:
Incase anyone needs it:
WA = Weapon Action
PA = Photon Art
TMGs = Twin Machine Guns
Launcher WA grenade will go away if you swap weapon palettes.
Hey wanna ask other than resurgir which set can mult weapon rifle/launcher since i prefer safe than resugir dodge effect for unlock potential
@@radityoharimurti4641 Hi Hi! Unfortunately, currently Resurgir is the only series that allows you to multi weapon both Rifle+Launcher onto one weapon.

@@everydere coool ^w^ will be looking forward to your updated guides! i hope u have fun with the upcoming retem region too! ^^
Now this is a short but helpful video. Thanks. I will follow this guide.
Seeing you use Junkyard Dog as a gun was actually pretty funny to me.
Along with using Hunter's Physique, to maintain insane amounts of uptime on bosses (other launcher moves/rifle moves don't have hyper armor, so hunter's physique is actually useful here if you're aggressive).
time to swap to fighter as a sub for that down damage eraser lol.
i just started playing this game, having ranger as main. the sticky to laser set up is something i didnt thought of, much thanks
@@lilremix Yup RaFo and RaGu are really good and I switch between them both. Also Multi rifle and launcher is super sick!
Thanks for the good vid and voice. Really enjoying talis/launcher with ranger/force. Weapon ability from talis and launcher fear eraser and sometimes pp conversion is great
Thank you! Also that's a really cool combination, I'm definitely going to try it out since I really love launcher, but I also really love talis!
2 recommendations that I've seen in other videos:
1) Force as a subclass gives you access some skill to recover pp vert easily but that just depents on preferences or what you feel more comfortable
2) This is something that i think you should touch a little deeper and is that now with the new multiweapon system you don't need to carry a rifle and a launcher at the same time, just fuse a rifle with a launcher and you can use launcher's PA while using that rifle, that makes combos more faster
I use Ranger as a subclass for my Hunter for the launcher. It's nice having a hard hitting range option for enemies that like to give me trouble.
Great video! I'm playing Ranger atm and I'm having a blast.
Wooo! Thank you so much and I hope you continue having a great time in New Genesis!
Damn, this is professionally made. I would have thought you were at 100k if I didn't know any better. Great video!
Thank you so much! I hope my future content will keep ya around =D!
I know no one else noticed, but I Like the Tekken customisation music playing in the background. I see you.
I love Ranger, as a newbie like me it works well. Distance shooting
Glad you're enjoying Ranger! Also Welcome to PSO2 NGS! I hope you're enjoying the game and will have fun with the future updates!
You sir, just earned a sub. really good content which is informative and straight to the point.
Thank you so much! I hope my future content is able to keep you around and keep you playing NGS!
Great video! Eagerly awaiting the next one! :D
Thank you! I'll make sure the quality is even better than this one =D!
I have reconsidered my stance on Ranger as a class, the sound downright necessary honestly haha

I’m lvl 20 ranger my subclass is force so I have more pp regen as well
RaFo is one of my favorite setups especially if you do Vialto Launcher + Talis multi weapons for infinite PP. Also Pp convert is so freaking gooooooooood
I had no idea that the launcher weapon action gives pp. I was wondering what was letting me fire the laser for an extended period of time.
Yup! It's a really good weapon action when you time it correctly!
Awesome guide, thank you so much for all the info also that scarf looks so cool, is from base right?
i feel like theres an under appreciated tactic when it comes to keeping launcher mobile, if u use the step attack (holding normal attack and dodging) it keeps u very mobile, does decent damage, and have the chance of getting a counter attack if u dodge an attack, of course theres always the photon arts to be used as well but if repositioning i needed or low on PP its an easy work around
@@everydere Yeah i did exactly that lol, tmg + launcher and rifle + launcher. Both are amazing.
For someone with a Warrior icon I'm surprised you're not using Hunter
So you are unlucky and don't get good dps in your groups. Fighter does more damage than ranger, either with dagger or saber.
As many players know, the saber has a broken skill. It is possible to give 1.3~1.6k per hit. It's 5x any skill you use. So it's impossible for you to win this.
Even after it's fixed next week, it will still be possible to give 1k+ on the skill's last hit. In other words, you only win in aggro if you don't have anyone who knows how to play fighter in your group.
Think that’s also because a lot of people don’t want to put a skill point into war cry..
Funny thing is, you can get on some high ground and stay still while use only normal attack to solo defeat field boss. take time quite a bit but just hold normal attack.
Yup! The normal attacks shockingly do a large amount of damage, couple that with an occasional blight round and you can technically M1 to victory.
That launcher looks awesome
Hi hi! If you want to have the launcher as well, it's called "* Igniting Flare", it should be available on the OG PSO2 Player shop!
Solid guide, well done
Thank you so much! I hope you're having a fun time in NGS!
Currently playing this game as a level 33 Ranger.
For weapons whats a good augment fixa fatale or attack or etc.. for ranger of course, also is there a preference between rifle and launcher?
@@everydere that was extremely useful... but i might need to change some of my keys for that...
I'm still waiting for that resurgir launcher so I can do use Rifle(base) + launcher(sub) so I can get best of both worlds. Blight rounds, mobility, Homing darts(aoe/mobbing) of rifle combined with Fear erased/multi hit damage of launcher.
Same! All I want is a resurgir rifle with a preset please T_T. It'll happen one day and it'll be great when it drops!
That's what I am doing it's amazing honestly, the best of both worlds. :)
i feel you, i though i have the worse luck for *4 weapon... since i got *3 with fixa fatale4 or termina4. for now i only use *3 weapon for that purpose...
This helped out alot thanks !
No problem! I hope you're having fun in NGS!
Force main class with photon flare buffing the lazer is just great
Waiiit photon flare affects the laser??
@@everydere unsure about the potency buff but it buffs your photon points so longer lazer
@@ServusVelux Oooo that's true it does give the +50pp
i seen ur vid, its look like u are not switching between rifle and launcher. It is multi-wpn or u have shortcut to swap wpn in middle combo?
Ohhh that's sounds interesting, I gotta try that and see if I can spam it fast enough during a break phase with blight rounds!
@@everydere if you put it on your subpallet you can just hold the button down and it auto jumps and slams for you.
@@everydere oh, thats smart, i have not thought about that, thank you!
Gunner is only really needed as a sub if u dont got the vialto launcher ability, which opens u up to other classes have buff/healer as sub
That Tekken ost sounds good with NGS for some reason

What multi weapon have you guys been using with launcher not sure what I'm gonna go with
I've been using Vialto Launcher+Talis after someone suggested it (talis WA for PP), but I haven't really tried other combos yet
@@everydere I see havent tried that yet I'll give it a go
qhat considered the best launcher? vialto? Resurgir?
Thank you for the good video. You helped me choose my class. Can you tell me what is the main difference between Ra/Gu and Gu/Ra?

@@everydere counter? like a succesful dodge and normal attack?
if you make a multi weapon of rifle launcher what abilities would you prioritize
I'd have two palettes where it's like this (My weapon action is bound to Shift to free a slot up):
*Rifle Focus / General AoE:*
> Rifle Normal Attack
> Blaze Shot
> Homing Darts (AoE)
Back Palette:
Launcher Normal
> Multi Hit
> Fallen Impact
*2nd Palette (Launcher/Single Target DPS Focus)*
> Launcher Normal
> Multi Hit
> Fear Eraser
Back Palette:
> Fallen Impact
> Rifle Normal (to instantly blight rounds)
> Blaze Shot
Hope that helps you setup your multi-weapon palettes! Some other comments on the video mentioned their setups and they're all pretty interesting too so I'd check them out or ask the people who posted them =D!

Roughly how often are Full Skill Tree Resets given out and/or what’s a good price in the trade shop?
Because I got shafted by someone giving me advice
(I literally started playing 3 days ago)
Also, I’m playing Ranger/Force with multi weapons.
Rifle/Ring & Launcher/Staff.
I’m currently lvl17.
What augments do you suggest for rifle and launcher?
Hi Hi! Stack as much ranged weapon potency as you can, so for a super budget setup:
Precision III
Gigas Precision I/II
Soul/Note depending on budget
>4th slot for whatever gives more ranged proficiency.
You can adjust it based on how much N-Meseta you're willing to invest, but as long as all 4 slots are filled you're gucci. Hope that helps you out!
Thank you again
@@georgeazure6245 No problem! If you have any more questions feel free to reply to this comment anytime, and i'll be sure to try and answer!
been looking into this game... is it worth in 2022? still active?
Oooo I did not thoroughly test that! That's really interesting and thanks for sharing that tip!
Hopefully SEGA gives us the ability to cancel into counters/parries faster as the game grows older.
whats the best equipment/armor combination for ranger? Also what augments on each?
Idk if this has been asked or not but
For launcher, normal atk vs charged atk on single enemy, which one is better? Some said normal atk, others say otherwise
I'ma be honest, I just switch between the two depending on what I need. Generally I'll use the normal attack more often than the charged because it's just more immediate damage, but I also primarily use the dodge attack on Launcher as I fish for counter damage. Hope that helps answer your question!
@@everydere thank you!
I'm a ranger and this music by Taku Inoue is my favourite
I'm a newer player, I'm a little confused, should I make a rifle+launcher multiweapon or should I get 1 of each?
So in the long run, a rifle multi wep with Launcher or vice versa would be cheaper since you'll only have to upgrade/affix/potential one weapon. Now the downside, is that the only series which allows that is called Resurgir and the potential may not be what you're seeking. So overall, IMO I would probably do it just to save on costs since the DPS difference would be pretty minimal overall. I hope that helps clear it up and helps your choice!
@@everydere yes that helps alot, now I just need to find a way to grind my ranger up in levels as I started with force ^^
@@AstralHippo Ohhh I hope you have tons of fun with Ranger! Personally, I just started going deep into Force and I'm having a great time with it too. All the classes in this game make it hard for me to choose a main T_T.
@@everydere yeah I think so too, ranger looks really fun, force was a great first character to use because it's quite simple, and very easy to use the right elemental weakness to take down mobs etc
is there any tier list ? can you do one pls
Tier list would be pretty much everything is equal in NGS. At the moment, Fighter would be the strongest class because Julien Dance is still glitched (someone please correct me on this if it's been fixed). Now I will make a video explaining my rankings currently, but this is basically how I would rank everyone (assuming Julien Dance is nerfed):
**Be aware, this is all my personal opinion, and all the classes are literally within 1-2% of each other and all have different functions, so damage isn't king in NGS**
*Ranking (Strong to Slightly Less Strong)*
FiHu: (Fi = High Single Target DPS, Hunter subclass for AoE. Easy to do good with + has a high skill ceiling)
Gunner (Extremely High sustain DPS with High Burst when played absolutely optimally, slightly annoying "rev up" time with getting 120% Chain Boost, Ridiculously high skill ceiling+effort to play optimally)
Ranger+Force (Tied for their ability to keep 24/7 high uptime + provide GREAT support via Blight Rounds & Elemental Downs, also extremely simple to pick up)
Hunter (Jack of all trades, true middle ground, high skill ceiling, simple to pick up but hard to master)
Techter (Wand Parry is amazing, Wand in general is amazing, but realistically there's a Techter everywhere so you lose value on Shifta+Deband since you'll have it all the time.)
Overall though, this tier list is completely useless since all the classes pretty much perform at the same exact level, and it all comes down to player skill (So I would honestly pick a class that you find the most fun, otherwise you will extremely under-perform).
@@everydere
yes!!! xD why dodge if you can tank for days xD and still obliterate em
Also, if you want a multi weapon, rifle launcher multi weapons is a good idea.

If you're completely new to NGS, make sure you hit up all Cocoons for 20 SP since A LOT of what makes Ranger weapons shine is actually locked behind your skill tree. Definitely reply so I can help you out!
Does the rifle weapon action proc resurgir?
Sadly it does not, only side steps proc the resurgir potential T_T.
yess ranger is my main class
Ranger mains rise up! Also I hope you're having a great time in NGS!
9:57 //related to a completely different game
is it just me, or is that The Last Word from Destiny I hear??
Wow I haven't played Destiny I, searched up the last word SE and it sounds reallllllly close to Multi Hit on launcher
i found gunner to still do more dps than ranger. at least when thoroughly tested and fully geared/augmented on both classes. my gunner def got the lowest time between the 2 on the Fleeting Flight cocoon trial with a low time of 1:02. with ranger it was much slower. but maybe its support makes up for it?

I think ranger have a problem with blaze shot
Its good to have mobility but the accuracy seems a little bit of sometimes it will miss as you moving around to maintain the critical range and also if the enemy have a small hit parts or the enemy moving a lot
Cmiiw

@@moorhen6156 Thanks for sharing it! I haven't seen that many compiled recipes yet so It helps out a lot
Tomato x1, Apple x1, Pear x1, Crab x1, Rich Meat x3, Crisp Meat x3 = 9% potency, 5% damage resistance, 5% Hp, 12 PP, 3 % weak point damage, -5% pp consumption is what I use
