Alot of people were complaining about lack of gap closing but I think its fine. After using hunter and fighter for a long time I'm use to photon dashing around lol plus people forget mobility is way better on this game in general. I love how fluid it is since you can mix up the levels of pa, and the auto counter skill is awesome. I just gotta get better with bow haha I use force subclass since I ended up really liking force rod and for the PP management. Using rod can also cover Alot of katana weaknesses plus you can exploit elemental downs
Honestly dude, i think you have some of the most combat knowledge out of most of the pso2 youtubers, i go to other channels for news but i come here for battle data lmao
Thanks for this dude. I'm really liking Braver. The animations are probably the best imo. Also thanks for the rotation dude. Was missing a lot of targets. Edit: 1x silverleaf with 2x lotus strikes a good balance with pp and dps in case of a non moving target like a break phase boss.
On a scale of 1-10 Braver made my motivation to play this game a 10. How do you guys feel about the return of SEGA's favorite kid of all the classes? I generally use Sliverleaf > Silverleaf > Lotus for single target DPS while I use Silverleaf > Silverleaf > Iris Gale for AOE. In general when I am aiming for the 3rd hit of any PA I use Silverleaf as it's fast and allows for you to counter more easily than Iris Gale x3 (or Lotus x3 or Lotus in general due to animation lock). Thanks for uploading this. Gives me more ideas of things I can combine.
Yoo thanks for sharing your rotations! I use your Silverleaf x2 + Lotus A LOT for when I'm staggering PAs since you can stagger your combo to get guaranteed fearless attitude procs when you time it correctly (Similar to Hunter Arts Avenger staggering). I think it honestly comes out to more DPS than Lotusx2+Silver when they're actively hitting since fearless attitude hits like a DUMPSTER truck LOL. I haven't tried Silverleaf x2 + Iris for AoE and I'm definitely gonna try that out to see how it feels since that's super fast instant Iris 3rd stages. Thanks for sharing your rotations cause you're giving me some new ideas too!
I chose tô be a Hu/Br because Hunter as a main makes you into a tank and If you have the 5 combo sword skill and multi weapon of sword and katana, if you counter with katana and attack with sword your sword attack Will be the 5 combo so basically you do what is called a double counter and recovers lots of PP, also sword normal attack recovers a Lot of PPs, not tô mention the rotation I do with sword and katana which is sick.
HuBr is suuuuuuuper sick and i love sword and katana. I needa relevel up my hunter since i've been focusing on Gunner recently but HuBr was sooo freaking satisfying. Thanks for sharing your class choice!
@@everydere It is what you said, very PP hungry, so I put in the units fixa performa which decress PP consumption and fixa enthusiast which incress PP offensive recovery, If you abuse It you can eat up a Lot of PP, also that rotation you showed in the vid, for me at least is less PP consumption for individual mob (or group of mobs If you use the PA that covers the area) and Sword is Very good to recovers PP more quickly because of the range It was but also in group of mobs you can hit multiples of mobs and recovers almost All PP (dont know If other weapons can do something similar like this, hiting multiples mobs at the same time) also... That spining sword PA is just... In the point...
This actually gave me more info than I thought. I want to main braver but into a hybrid build for both bow and katana. Didnt even considered tech or gunner as a sub class.
I'm going for a katana-only Br/Fo build, and I'm not too big of a fan of step counter, so I instead take advantage of Fearless Attitude's PA counter for a stronger counter than Weapon action. It feels more reliable than step counter, for only slightly lower DPS. Most of the time I use Silverleaf to proc this since I'm still trying to get the hang of when Fearless Attitude procs happen, and Silverleaf is the fastest PA for this. For rotation I personally go with 3x Lotus(mainly to stack hits for Brave Combat Regen) or Silverleaf -> 2x Lotus depending on how long the boss' down phases are, but 2x Lotus -> Silverleaf does look like an interesting alternative, and is definitely pretty viable for damage if the frame data spreadsheet is accurate. I'll give this a try next time :)
OH you'll enjoy this, so Fearless Attitude is actually more DPS than the step counter! This is because it doesn't interrupt your combos + also generates A LOT of PP as well! I stagger my PA combos to reliably trigger it similar to how you'd end up playing Hunter for Avenger Procs and it works super great. Also check out the new pinned comment cause a viewer broke down ALL variations of Lotus+Silverleaf and it's super informative + helpful
i actually just monke brain my way with braver lmao i like to always end combos with lotus if i can and honestly against my better judgement i sometimes use iris gale on a single target cause the animation activates all the neurons lmao. i do love the braver tho it singlehandedly revived my motivation for the game and im definitely gonna main it for the forseeable future, cant wait to see what they add when they lift the level cap
Ahem, I am 100% guilty of doing the Iris Gale on a single target because it looks too sick >_>. ALSO I CANT WAIT TO SEE other things that SEGA adds to it, there's so much new stuff we got with our Braver but so much left from base PSO2 Braver. I can't wait to get Morning Mistweaver + Gurren Tessen (I gave up on the global name right here my monke brain is too small to remember it LOL) in NGS along with type-0 PAs down the line if we get them! I'ma main this class and push it to it's limits until we get the gunblade class in 2022 since I'm a sucker for gunblades OTL
Hey its me again. On the note about Bow, it is actually a lot more complex than Katana right now to play optimally. One reason for it is the currently bugged Charged Dim. Ray that doesn't deal more damage on weakpoints/weakbullets. I won't get into the particulars of the frame data, but basically it's all about finding the right times to use Uncharged Flex Arrow vs First Charge Flex Arrow. Frenzied Firework is bad right now cause of its bad PP efficiency and DPS and the only time Uncharged Dim. Ray is worth it is if every single hit can land (which takes 8.13 seconds) in which case First Charged Flex out dps's it. Currently writing a guide for it that I hope can be posted in the official discord to show the particulars of Bow and it's PAs.
Ohhh Hi Indra! I'm going to look forward to your guide for Bow cause that's going to be really interesting to read up. I saw the bug posting by SEGA that Ray wasn't working as intended whiiich I found out through testing and I was like "Something is REALLY not right here". Also I would love to see what your findings were on uncharged vs first charged flex, especially when it comes down to multi-hitting parts on a single boss! ATM I agree, I think Bow honestly requires wayy more optimization especially from seeing what JP players are currently pulling off with it. Katana, is pretty straight forward since there's not too much variance you can do + staggering PAs ala Hunter Avenger proccing for Fearless Attitude is pretty easy to do for fast PP recovery. But Bow gameplay especially from what I'm seeing JP players do is REALLY piquing my interest! I can't wait to see your guide dude!
@@everydere I posted it in the discord, I'm Zer0 on there. Still as of this moment waiting for it to be verified to be posted as an official guide in the Phantasy Star Fleet Discord, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
@@Zer0Perplexity Yooo I checked it out dude and it is some real good stuff! I couldn't find any errors or anything wrong with it, and it all checks out when I double checked your methods + testing
My plan once I have everything leveled is to do Br/Fo was Bow/Talis. Firework is okay for bow AOE but only really in PSE Bursts where the mobs are on top of each other and it sucks PP REAL fast. I'm thinking the AOE stance for Talis will help much better when I just want to AoE and can do elemental damage. If that doesn't feel great, I'll probably just Br/Ra for homing darts, but I really want to stick to Vialto Series since it helps manages PP consumption.
Yeah I'll definitely hit up this comment again when I make my bow since I'm planning on making a Vialto Bow+Talis as well (Also for TeBr too). Firework I agree is only really useful for me during PSE bursts and I wish it had a bigger AoE to it. I think honestly I might end up doing Br/Ra down the line or some variation if I stick to bow, BUT I also saw a comment where they said they use Bow+Launcher and that sounds pretty interesting since both of those fall under Vialto, and Bow is virtually a Rifle minus Homing Darts! Thanks for sharing your Braver experiences!
You don't have to go Ranger sub for homing, you can use Gunner sub, which has slightly better PP regen rates than Fo sub, just a lack of PP Convert to fall back on. Especially on mobs if you've built your tree as a pure sub the regen is pretty crazy.
Any tips for how to best make use of fearless attitude? It actually gives 30 pp from an attack simply hitting the shield. An extra 10 pp if the follow-up attack hits something
U really have to practice the timing with every different monster's atk pattern to consistently use it imo I usually count out loud as soon as i see the frontal shield pops up so i will know when is it gonna expire, then i instantly hold wa to protect myself when i failed to time it correctly
Gonna have to give these katana combos a go, I couldn't figure out how to do Katana properly (compared to base PSO2), and have been living on bow due to how easy it is to do damage and live on it.
I’m running ra/br so I can use triple geant armor and have access to WB. Bow really makes up for launcher’s weakness and vice versa. Bow has elusion and counters for defense and mobility while launcher has sticky bomb and Its PAs for damage and PP gain. I kinda disagree with bow having weak burst phases tho, I can hit 4K on a fully charged flex arrow and jumps to 7k on break and we can add brave combat finisher to that which also hits as hard. Imagine if we have banishing arrow on top!
Yeah if you precharge a flex arrow it can do some DEVASTATING stuff and I really would love some banishing arrow action on top. ATM SEGA confirmed there's a glitch with dimensional ray where it's *not applying to weak points* so once that's fixed the burst is going to be EVEN better which is super great! Also I haven't tried out Ra/Br but I'm definitely going to soon! ATM I'm trying to see if a Straga Bow or Katana will go down in price, and then i'ma just make either Bow+Rifle for pure ranged or Katana+WL/Bow (Probably not Katana+Bow atm since the price of both of those is ridiculous LOL).
Before people complain about Braver, remember this class is Jack of all trade compared to pure melee class their potency should be lower than fighter and less tanky than a hunter and should deal weaker counter than a sword, as ranged they doesn't have versatility of Ranger that can do both supporting and dps role they also doesn't have gunner mobility and agility as it would seems mediocre if you are maining FI before this update, people that complaining there is no gap closer in Katana should remember they can use ranged weapon, braver play style should be engaging in ranged combat when enemy is far and switch to Katana when you or enemy get closer in range. IMO by forcing to play braver as pure Katana or Bow only seems to limit it's potential as you are not making use of your full capabilities, sure you can multi weapons with wired but why bother? Braver being mediocre is make sense because they should not outshine hunter or fighter in term of pure melee and vice versa in ranged category they are hybrid class, Jack of all trade master of none, braver selling point is not it's potency, versatility, agility or survivability. It's their flexibility to switch combat play style on the fly. It you waiting for fix it maybe got Nerf in future JP stance about braver is pretty mixed people think it's too powerful for being hybrid. Then again it's just speculation at this point the again dev do Nerf classes.
Yup Braver is a jack of all trades all-rounder class and NGS really pushes this onto it. There's A LOT of stuff coming out about Braver which players are finding out, and it's pretty interesting to see how powerful Braver actually is. I think it's a common NA community mentality to associate Big Number as "High DPS" vs multiple small hits as High DPS in MMOs (Warframe, FFXIV, PSO2, NGS, ESO). And that's what puts off a lot of players from thinking it's great. There's currently some DPS calculations and right now Katana is right behind Knuckles whiiiich is absolutely crazy considering Katana has access to better AoE capabilities & range than Knuckles. On top of that, you also have access to Bow and that is a pretty powerful ranged weapon especially with how good it is. Imo I think Braver is definitely more powerful than what i believe for a hybrid class, but also Braver historically has been SEGA's baby in PSO2 so I don't think it'll ever get nerfed which means it's only up from this point on LOL.
@@everydere that's dps calculations is true considering you can keep the dps and not dying. But field test most people die so your dps calculations is useless, it's same like having 1500 bp but you cannot counter or block it's become lower. Not many people can consistently block incoming damage this resulting lower dps. Beside testing against cocoon bujin that pose no threat is not reflect reality in the field you can say Bujin test is potential dps reaching that 0:37 sec is great but that's being done by cheese charging bow right before the teleport in essence it's cutting like 3 second timer to charge that. On overall the dps would be lower versus bosses or others treat like gigantix, you get downed, flinched, incapacitated and many other things that lower your dps. NGS is not the same as base PSO, there is no overly powerful class, if it's weak it would be buffed like what they did with spear, when it's get too op it will get Nerf. The Achilles heel of braver is it's melee stationary and long combo make it vulnerable to attack 3 step PA is very costly in PP term, it's bow even though deal decent damage it have huge PP requirements and again with charged shot it cannot be cancelled after animation leaving it open to attack overall all braver for is spamming PA it's leaving it with very restrictive build that aim for more PP.
No problemo! So my build for force is 1/5 pp convert, + 1 SP into the PP convert skill that gives you 2 stock. Then I have 10 into PP recovery, 1 into pp eradication gain, and then the rest of the points you can allocate into any force skill as you please (like Talis for example for TeFo talis). This does mean you WONT be able to use Force Rod as a Force main due to how my points are allocated so you'll have to take that into consideration. That means your options for Force rod would be to reset your skill tree (which i have 30+ passes of), or purchase a second skill tree if you decide to play Force Rod. Hope that helps you out!
I kind of wish Braver was a little more fluid like it's PSO2 counterpart, but I'm getting used to it still and am enjoying it. I'm also used to PP hungry classes, since I mained Knuckle Fighter up till this point. I'm technically running FI/BR at the moment to use the higher level gear while BR catches up in levels, so I'm getting used to things still. And yeah, I highly recommend getting the Katana/Wired Lance multi going if you're doing Katana only.
Yeah I wish a lot of classes in NGS felt more fluid in general compared to base PSO2, or atleast felt more like Luster from base pso2 where it feels REALLY responsive and fast. Hopefully down the line with the winter update, the additional class skills will start revamping how some classes are played to see how it's all like. ATM I'm 100% maining braver until 2022's gunblade class LOL
@@everydere Yeah. I'll still probably run Braver for now, but I still have my Knuckle Fighter maxed if I decide to go back. Probably one of the more fluid and responsive classes I've found so far (for me at least).
I was waiting for your take on Braver! I was curious what weapon and armor series did you end up choosing for your Katana and Bow? Did you augment your stuff to cater to both ranged and melee or did you go all in on one over the other? I'm still trying to level my braver up and it's been a slog.
So for weapons, my dream setup (lol not happening atm) is a Resurgir with Fixa Fatale Katana+Bow multi-weapon. At the moment though since the prices are absolutely ridiculous + Evolcoat is on the horizon, I'm running a Foursis Katana multi-wep'd with a Foursis Wired Lance and a Vialto Bow without a multi-wep attached *yet* . When Evolcoat drops, I'll check out the potential and see if it's worth it, but I might go for it just based on prices tbh. For armor I'm wearing 2x Vialto + 1x Geant since I have fixas on my vialtos, but if I could redo my stuff + have ANY fixa it would be 2x Geant + 1x Vialto. Now for setup on my augments, I went with hybrid so I could use a Katana for burst and Bow when the boss goes wayyyyyy too far that it's impossible to touch with a katana. My augments though are mostly centered on Melee vs Ranged since our choices are pretty limited at the moment, but also Katana's burst DPS is right behind knuckles so I use it during every break phase. Hope that helps you out! Also I can agree Braver vs Hunter felt like a slog for me to level, but leveling in general for me feels like a slog LOL. My strategy for leveling is legit just do your dailies + wait for UQs to pop and do those too. It's 10000% super lazy, but it also allows me to grind when I actually feel like it + have the motivation.
Weapon Line I would reccomend at the moment if you're going to invest into your gear right now would be: > Foursis Katana + WL (if you focus ONLY on katana) This option is cheap af > Bow + Any sub you enjoy (Vialto series) Resurgir with Fixa Fatale is what I would love to do with Katana + Bow multi'd, but the current pricing is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous since it's basically Day 3 braver release. The option I'm planning on going for at the moment is just make a Foursis Katana + Wired Lance multi weapon, then hold onto that until Evolcoat drops on the 18th to see if it's even worth it. At that point, I'd probably choose Resurgir + Fixa Fatale if the prices have dropped. Now for armor, if you're not planning on using BOTH weapons at all, just slap pure ranged or melee proficiency. For actual pieces, I usually use either 2x Vialto + 1x Geant or 1x Vialto and 2x Geant. 2nd option is more offensive, but just be aware if you start slapping on Alts Secreta, you'll be losing A LOT of HP. But that won't matter too much tbh as long as you dodge/counter everything. Now Fixas make this complicated, but generally I would consider them but also don't stress over them since the whole system for fixas is completely borked. Hope that helps your choices!
@@everydere thanks for the quick response. I think i´ll go for the fousis katana with wired MW. Thought about just getting some random vialto bow and upgrade it a little bit to have some variatons if i get bored. For amor, wouldnt you recommend to get at least one of the 3 qual de armor pieces? i thought about going 1 vialto, 1 qual de amor piece (best melee one) and either another vialto or geant one. Great content btw. you got my sub :D
@@IDontKnow0104 Thankies for the support! ALSO YUP that's an option you can do as well, 1 piece Qual De Armor can save you some cash and honestly I would use it over non-fixa gear. Only reason I have 2x vialtos is just because of Fixas, but when we take those completely out of the equation, I 100% would do probably Vialto+QualDe+Geant. Mainly because Vialto is a very good HP +defense unit, so you can go hard on your other two units. I remember Keroppi was telling me he was praying for 3x Vialto + Fixa Guard 5 to drop so he becomes basically an etoile LOL. And I actually did do what you said, and got a random vialto bow and just upgraded it barely (+40 no potential) just to have it for when I'd use it. ATM It's kinda hard for me to invest into weapons since I'm waiting to see what Evolcoat offers on the 18th since it covers ALL weapons just like resurgir.
@@everydere last question :D What do you think about going techter main and braver sub class? Since i‘ve been playing techter/hunter so far, i kinda got used to shifta/deband and don‘t really wanns drop it.
@@IDontKnow0104 Y'know I was talking about that with a friend, and I think TeBr is a very viable + Good option. The reason is because TeHu is already a SUPER popular choice and shares a lot of similar stuff to Braver. The big difference though, is on TeBr you'll also get access to ALL of Brave Combat because the only thing that's mainclass locked is Final Bonus. Soo Imo when you factor in Wand/Talis Gameplay then slap on a Katana+Bow on top, AND you get breakfall (5% hp back every recovery at 1/5), your Techter gets virtually the same QoL as hunter but now you get to play around with Katana+Bow. I'd definitely try it out tbh! I'm planning somewhere down the line to probably use a Wand+Katana combo or Wand+Bow combo for a ranged option with wand.
So the way it works (I currently Multi'd my Katana ONTO my Wired Lance from Hunter), is that you slot the weapon action for the wiredlance onto either your main palette OR your weapon palette itself. So my setup on my Katana now looks like this (I play BrGu/BrFo): First Palette: Normal Attack (Katana) Silverleaf Storm Lotus Lightning Back palette: Weapon Action (Wired Lance) Silverleaf Storm Lotus Lightning and my Weapon Action for Katana is rebound to SHIFT so I always have access to it, and if I'm on controller I use DS4 windows and rebound L1 on a PS4 Controller to weapon action. Hope that helps you out! This lets you instantly have a gap closer and go back into any Katana move
@@SamuraiLJacks0n Yup you can use the weapon actions of weapons you multi-wep. So BrFo can't equip a wired lance, but if you have a Katana multi'd onto the wired lance, you can now equip it on BrFo/BrGu since technically it's a Wired Lance with a Katana. That's the current setup I'm using with my spare Foursis Wire from my Hunter maining so it's a +40 Foursis Wire with Potentials and then a Katana multi'd on top for 200k (Which is super cheap compared to making another foursis katana)
I personally have enjoyed Katana/Saber and Bow/Launcher. I plan to try out Bow/Wand, Sword/Katana, and Bow/Talis. Elemental downs would definitely allow the 2nd stage charged shot to land.
Yooo that's actually interesting, I didn't think about doing Bow/Launcher or Katana/Saber. Bow/Talis sounds super interesting as well especially on BrFo / FoBr or even TeBr. TeBr I'm thinking about trying out after experimenting more with Bow to figure out how that works. I'd love to know what you think about those combos after you try them out! Personally I really want to try out Katana+Bow but Resurgir is our only series that allows that, and it is REALLY expensive to make right now so I'm waiting.
@@everydere Indeed, Resurgir Bow and Katana prices are just extortionist. People could just default sell it at 1k but they are trying to exploit the whales who don't have time to wait. I will definitely report back here when I get enough meseta and Resurgir Bows and Katanas to make them haha
@@Ceimash Yeah one of the biggest things I want to test is charged Dimensional Ray + Katana PAs, but I'd rather use my resources on a Resurgir multi-wep vs making a lower star'd one OTL. Also god the Resurgir prices atm on ship 2 are absolutely criminal LOL
Just tested it myself as well and I can definitely say it doesn't work. I noticed that uncharged Dim.Ray itself activates it's charged version but even when you do Charged into uncharged Dim.Ray and then use a Katana PA in your multi, it will stop Charged Dim.Ray from working.
Great video as always but I would've liked a bit more information about the FA counter and how best to use it. I'm still on the fence with the class ATM though, maybe when I get to lvl20 and spend some time perfecting the class I might like it more. A gap closer would've been nice just to give it a different slant on the melee classes 👍
Oh god so FA counters gets way too advanced for this video, so here's the write up for it since I was planning on including it before i realized it'd get too complicated: So FA's DPS is ridiculously good in comparison to ALL counter options (Step+WA Counter). On top of this *FA DOES NOT INTERRUPT YOUR PA COMBO* . Every single attack on katana can potentially trigger FA, but the fastest is a normal attack. Unfortunately since the Normal attack doesn't link into PA Combo, your second best bet is silverleaf since the activation on it is WAY faster and the recovery is faster as well (by about 20 frames). So to reliably trigger FA, your PA rotation would be more around Silverleaf x2 + Lotus x1, or Skipping the last lotus and do a 3rd silver leaf, just so you can time the recovery (FA window) right at the same time it connects to you. Lotus X2 + Silverleaf is something I would reserve at that point mainly for burst/when the boss isn't moving as much. Now in terms of FA vs WA vs Step Counter, Step Counter is probably the one that feels the most fluid especially when you don't react fast enough. WA Counter requires you to input it slightly before you get hit, but the activation window is pretty massive. and FA requires you to completely know when you're about to be hit so you can pause your PA combo to get the window. Generally, if you know the boss is about to hit you (EX. Daitly Sword puts foot forward), I would slow down your PA Combo to keep the FA windows up, and that should give you it. I think in the video I did a combo as slow as possible to show how much time you have inbetween hits, but you can hit a PA, wait for the activation window, hit a PA pretty slowly. Hope that helps out your FA consistency!
@@everydere I don't know if it help FA kinda the same thing as Just Attack in OG PSO2 If you think that way it help you with the timing pretty easily since you play a lot of PSO2 At first i don't know how i feel about FA because i can just PA counter my self but when im playing more i found that FA is pretty good when you ran out of PP it can help you if you're on spam those PA non stop and boss is going to hit you and it help me so many time lol
With the way that Braver works, every choice works out perfectly. There's nothing too important that's locked behind Braver as a Main Class. My fave combos for Main Classing is Hunter/Ranger/Fighter/Techter.
fearless attitude trigger will not disrupt your combo string on PAs or normals. considering how forgiving the timeframe for FA is, trying to utilize it more is definitely better since you don’t have to step dodge an attack during your PA string and lose your PA level as a result. Iris and Lotus both have guard point at the beginning of the PA, and Silverleaf when locked onto enemies can allow you to move left or right (similar to brand extension from luster) mighty guard is actually pretty bad imo, since your perfect guard doesn’t trigger MG at all you don’t have to upgrade it at all. Break fall HP gain is pretty good for people maining Foursis weapon (Foursis rod, for example), but I’m a very cocky player so I don’t care about it as well. However, resta amp and break fall are actually amazing subclass skills for force main (ha who would’ve guessed) imo, since force has resta field and that basically benefits your teammate with the combination of resta amp, and break fall would effectively preserve your foursis rod potential should you get hit. subclass choice greatly depends on one’s playstyle for br, because i’m purely using br’s toolkit then fi or gu sub are pretty much go to subs for me. If I want to use tech then br/fo but I find it unnecessary atm. For the PP issue br has I find it acceptable, because I maxed out br combat finish bonus so I use br combat not only to do dmg but also salvage PP when it ends, so theoretically I only need to carefully manage my PP in the 45 seconds br combat vacuum.
Duuude also Fearless Attitude if you saw the chart, has RIDICULOUS damage if you pull it off too. It's like 612 DPS or something last I checked which makes it really great. Breakfall I can confirm is actually pretty ridiculous since you just have to tap space ANYTIME you get knocked back to regen 5%/10% Hp (at 1/5 only, if you reallocate mighty guard to this it gets even more dumb). Also PP issue I just slap on my normal food which has +12% pp recovery built in + Gunner and go absolutely wild LOL. Now if only SEGA built in Brave Combat Close for katana as normal it'd be the icing on the cake, but for now I'm settling on Foursis Katana+WL siiince Resurgir Prices are wayyyyyyyyy too expensive for me to do the combo i want (Katana+Bow)
@@everydere honestly the class will be perfect if a short range gap closer normal is built in while br combat gives you a more potent and longer range gap closer normal. I mean the katana normals are mediocre at best imo, you only use normals to salvage your pp, and they set you in place completely stationary so if whatever you’re trying to get a hit on move a slight bit your normals will just miss lmao. From my experience fearless attitude is actually very easy to pull off since the time frame is very forgiving, you can see the boss’ movement and use silverleaf or lotus and just wait for the attack. But the iffy part about it is that it only provides frontal protection, so if you’re fighting pettas vera and it’s trying to do the 360 flash attack sometimes it won’t work. I was pretty disappointed about no quick cut in the beginning, but now that I play with FA a little bit more I feel like it’s a justifiable call from sega, still sad that we don’t have an effective gap closer thou ;(
@@XDD50Hz Dude icing on the cake would be FA teleporting us LOL along with a 360 counter on FA specifically. And yeah if that short range gap closer was built into Katana, I would say the class would be perfect along with some PP regen number tweaking. I find it super awkward tbh doing multiple normals with BrGu and max PP recovery and seeing my PP bar go barely up LOL. I wonder if SEGA is going to do some tweaks to Braver by Aug 18th since there's a lot of negative reviews i'm seeing towards it from NA players, but I haven't seen how JP feels about it. On top of that, there's still people figuring stuff out on it as well which is starting to change people's views about the class.
@@everydere @@everydere Knowing sega I just don't think they'll roll out an adjusting patch this quickly, have to keep my expectation low atm. I completely agree with you on the pp regen, it's pretty desperate when you don't have br combat and your pp is low. Switching to Fo might be a good idea now considering both PP eradication and PP conversion help with the pp issue katana has. It gets on my nerve every time, especially during a Nex UQ, when the Nex takes off and you're low on pp while br combat is on cooldown the best option for a katana user would be switching to a bow lol. I am also salty about the fact that fighter as an extremely close range class has gap closer on all 3 weapons and their aerial attacks have small (large on TD) forward movements, while katana aerial attacks set you completely stationary, smh. Another thing is that FA and block counter are in times inconsistent when the enemy you're fighting has any kind of 360 hitbox attack (pettas vera, daityl, scythe, list goes on). I feel like I have to perfectly align myself to actually be able to counter those attacks, which makes me feel like going for a step counter rather than those options when the fight is on the ground. Considering how important guard counter was to braver back in base pso2 I feel like it just makes the transition from base to ngs feel weird, if that makes sense. I really can't blame people for disliking katana atm, it's really in a similar situation as TMG/partisan, where you have to walk an extra mile and put in some thoughts to make the weapon work, meanwhile other weapons can do OK without thinking too much. I hope they can push out balancing patches sooner and put the weapons more in line with each other, at least make the underwhelming weapons not as they are now. TMG CT fix is a good start, but the long laundry list of glitches that still remain is honestly a big *smh*
@@XDD50Hz Godd okay so personally, and this is something that would ruin Hunter's niche, I think guards should just be 360 for all melee to be honest. For FA/WA counter triggering there's A LOT of times where i'll have to do a micro dash backwards just to make sure it properly registers the window for the hit. While on Hunter, I can just Avenger proc immediately or block which is infiinitely better. But yeah I agree Katana is definitely one of those weapons you have to sit down and learn just like TMG+Partizan specially with the PP management being an actual thing on Katana. I find Bow is extremely easy to pick up + start maxing out after playing around with it more and hooo boi, now I'm kinda wondering how Bouncer's drop is going to be with Jetboots and Dual Blades LOL. Like I feel like SEGA might end up over complicating one weapon for Bouncer which is probably going to be jetboots.
Everyone focuses on the pp lol force/techter/gunner. There’s a lot of skill tree combos at work with braver. Ranger/blight rounds and grenades for extra dps. Hunter for iron will and physique for extra tankiness. Fighter braver for a downed phase god with overwhelm. Etc etc
Yeah those work if you put braver as a subclass which is 100% an option since only final bonus is locked to subclass, and this makes it REALLY good as a subclass choice. Only downside is the -10% damage since Braver's your sub, which is acceptable tbh if you get use out of the rest of the mainclass kit. I focus mainly on PP since I just slap Braver as my main class and it doesn't really need anything else on top of it due to it's all-rounder nature. + I'm DPS greedy for that extra 10% LOL. Also! I did test out HuBr and it's honestly kinda weird since I end up just using Partizan since it's virtually 1:1 to Katana when you master avenger procs, and has similar PP consumption (30pp avg a PA on Partizan vs 40-60 PP a rotation on Katana).
Yup I alternate between those two depending on what the enemy is doing! Silverleaf x2 + Lotus 1 (3rd stage lotus does more dps than 3rd stage silverleaf), is my preferred for counter fishing or if I severely mess up rotation since it is SUPER easy to recover from doing that. In terms of DPS, it's only slightly behind lotus x2 + Silverleaf, but the 4pp could be the difference between getting a 3rd hit or not off especially with our low PP thresholds atm. Thanks for sharing!
Hmm so if you're getting level 1 silver leaf, my guess is your lotus chain might be starting later than normal (All Braver PAs chain together). So the easiest way to guarantee you get 2x Lotus into Level 3 Silver is to dash attack before you start. I believe someone mathed it out recent-ish but assuming slight movement (like the spider doll thing from defense quests), Level 1 Silver into 2x Lotus is actually better DPS since the level 1 Silver repositions yourself instantly, and the 2x Lotus gives you sliiightly higher DPS. After playing a LOT of Braver since the release of this initial guide, the best part about Braver is the DPS numbers for all the PAs are insanely close together. This makes the strength of Katana more around being able to effortlessly switch between PAs, with the only downside being your gap closer tied to step dodge countering. Also with the latest Braver Buff, Iris Gale's range is MASSIVE now and extremely useful vs before where it was awkwardly small.
I play te/br pretty good damage because 1st shifta/deband 2nd nobody plays techer since braver came up 1 bad thing though need to play resurger series cause i think there are no cataleya katana which the wand i spent upgrading and straga katana are expensive
Yeahhhh I would hold off on the Resurgir atm from how much it's being price gouged LOL. I want to work on my gear ASAP but god those prices are AWFUL. I was thinking about doing TeBr as well since I haven't seen a techter in ages in my UQs, and also nothing on Braver is locked except for final bonus. ATM my choices would probably be evolcoat when it drops on the 18th assuming it's not completely price gouged like right now. But it 100% will be price gouged since Braver is going to be really popular cause Katanas
@@everydere any news on evolcoat potential yet and btw my god the might 3 exploded in price after the seasonal event already ran out making augments for meelee gotta farm up meseta until 18th dried up in making katanaxwire and katanaxdaggers
@@tempesta7338 Unfortunately I don't have any news on the evolcoat potential, so I'm hoping they reveal it either via JP news or something once the update starts coming close. Also YUP Might augments got RIDICULOUSLY expensive since it's Braver time and a lot of people are switching to Katana + Bow LOL. I think Pettas Soul II on Ship 2 even doubled in price
Hi I love your video and want to thank you for it first off. Braver is what drew me to play NGS and I’m loving it. Your video was exactly what I was looking for in terms of helping me learn the class and have an idea how to build it! Im relatively new so I have a small question about using Gunner as a subclass. What skills should I go for when using it as my subclass? Thanks for any help you can give me!
Hi and thanks for the kind words! So there's some cool stuff coming out about Braver coming out now that more people are sticking with it! So for the Gunner subclass I would recommend to put 1 point into everything, 9/10 PP Recovery, 1/10 Overwhelm. This gives you access to Spread Shot for Rifle which doesn't sound like much, but there's now a Bow Braver movement to use Bow+Rifle (Both of these have a Straga Weapon) to completely decimate things from range. So doing this, you'll have access to spread shot for whenever you use your rifle which builds up pretty fast when doing PSE Burst AoE via Homing darts! On top of this, 10/10 PP Recovery + 2/10 Overwhelm is not that much of a noticeable change in PP gaining, so you're not really losing anything. Hope that helps you out!
It did help a lot thank you! By Bow+Rifle I assume that means Bow with Rifle multi weapon into it? I planned on working towards that dream Katana+Bow you mentioned in other comments but in your opinion do you think this Bow+Rifle idea is objectively stronger? Still trying to figure things out about the game and what I want to work towards so sorry for all the questions 😅
@@Celo-b2f So IMO it depends completely on your playstyle you're seeking. For me, I ended up deciding on doing WL+Katana (BrGu with a WL multi + Katana), until I can get my setup of Bow+Katana or Bow+Rifle if it's cheaper. In terms of strength, I think it's easier to optimize Bow and more friendly since it's ranged, but I have more fun on Katana although I will admit it is definitely a weapon that takes a lot of input like Partizan/TMG. So it basically boils down if you prefer to go full ranged (Bow+Rifle), Hybrid (Bow+Katana), or Full Melee (Katana+Wired Lance). Hope that helps you out! And feel free to ask more questions!
I really appreciate this info youre giving me is invaluable. Trying to figure out the game in the JP Server is tough haha. For now my last question would be could you tell me in your opinion optimal or “dream” Weapons/Units Setup for me to go for for Full Range(Bow/Gun) Full Melee ( Katana/WL) and Hybrid( Katana/Bow)? I’m indecisive about which of the three I want to do now but once I choose I want to be able to have the info to immediately know what to grind for. Again, I can’t thank you enough!
Also as a side note concerning the Hybrid (Bow+Katana) could you add whether or not you would suggest multiweaponing those two together or just running them separately?
whats the best augments for playing hybrid in your opinion? I really wanna play both especially when you can get all skills in the SP tree. I'm thinking Melra, Domina but idk about the other two.
I would say melras, dominas, or ael note b (if you don't want to farm for domina), I would put these on units and put specifics on the weapons themselves (ie might on katana and range on bow)
@@Zer0Perplexity Potency floor increase should be avoided at all times. Any other potency increase is still better overall. I would personally go with daiytil soul or gigas might on 2 units and gigas precision on the last unit so your melee is slightly stronger.
in Vanford I used a braver combat finish and the skill just... started up again, I have no idea why or if it is Drome jank but it let me use the finish twice Also I always start every combo with lotus I don't have the pp to do 3 combos so there is no point in being stingy with it :/
OH OKAY So to explain what happened there (I get it frequently happening to me). There's currently a glitch which I'm not sure why it happens, but it's ALWAYS in Vanford + when I have a friendly Drone where if I trigger Braver Combat (with 5/5 short cycle too), it counts down from 15, I pop it at 00.50 for finisher, annnnd it *goes back to the original Braver Combat duration of 30s* which gives me 45s total of Braver combat when it should have been 15s, whichh is 1000% a bug LOL. Also yeah the PP consumption of Braver is super similar to Hunter Partizan and it hurts for now *F* , when we get more gear + affixing slots, I don't think it'll be too much of a problem once we're able to hit 140-ish PP base. ATM with food and my gear (havent completely finished my stuff), I'm at 129 PP which feels like a nice sweet spot currently since that's 2 full rotations of anything without recovering PP, but a 9 PP surplus which can potentially allow a silverleaf 3rd hit filler in my combos.
I really liked Katana's PAs and mechanics, although the mobility was lacking in my opinion. It didn't have to be as good as Twin Daggers, but a decent gap closer would be nice. I'll probably use Wired Lance on multi weapon to cover this point. I use it just using four rotations that fit in different situations. Silverleaf Storm > Silverleaf Storm > Lotus Lightning - when I need more mobility and gap closer # Lotus Lightning > Silverleaf Storm > Lotus Lightning - takes the highest damage instances of each PA and has good PP efficiency# || **This actually doesn't work as I thought** Silverleaf Storm > Lotus Lightning > Lotus Lightning ends up being better Silverleaf Storm > Iris Gale > Iris Gale - for AoE And for high burst damage only spam Lotus Lightning when in Braver Combat, or when the Boss is down. Att.
Yoo thanks for sharing your rotations! I haven't tried Lotus-Silver-Lotus yet so I'm definitely going to try it out! Also I agree melee in general, the mobility is lacking which is offset by higher DPS in general vs ranged. But it still feels bad having to dash after stuff tbh LOL so I hope SEGA down the road gives everyone back their gap closers like: Asagiri Rendan/Gurren Tessen for Katana Guilty Break/Hero Flash move for Sword Heartless Impact for Knuckles Safoie Type-0 + Ilzonde for Rod/Talis/Wand But we might see those come back in winter since the game is nearly 1:1 atm to Episode 3 Japan PSO2. Which I think is interesting how they mirror each other, but also I would love some of the new toys we got later in base PSO2's life.
It would be great if sega brought these PAs along with the lvl cap and new areas. And for Katana I don't expect less from Sega than a Quick Cut hahaha Man, I miss Quick Cut so much...
OBS.: I ended up confusing some DPS data about Silverleaf Storm, so you can disregard the rotation Lotus Lightning > Silverleaf Storm > Lotus Lightning, making Silverleaf Storm>Lotus Lightning>Lotus Lightning, ends up being better.
Unit Fixas, pretty much anything you can get your hands onto. Fixa Guard is probably the best honestly to fix your mistakes, Fixa Enthusia helps a lot for offensive PP recovery but only a little bit. Overall if you can't get your hands on a good Fixa, running 2x Geant + 1x Qual De Arga is a pretty good setup for max damage or 2x Geant + 1x Vialto for a little bit more safety. Hope that helps you out!
Not gonna lie, Braver's pretty sick. I'm running it on both my alts for the time being; I've got one going Br/Gu with a multi Katana/Rifle, since a) I wanted to make a fake phantom for my more edgy alt but b) Homing Darts is *bonkers* for mobbing and Katana has such a great and versatile kit for dueling. My other I'm running Te/Br and actually working on a Wand/Bow multi to alternate use of distant techs with bow normals for my sustain while keeping up Dimensional Ray stocks for use during a down phase alongside a 2-C Flex and Combat Finisher (and a PB if I have it). Still not sure if I'm gonna work it into my main, but I can't play her right now. On principle, she will be a Bouncer, so we'll cross that bridge when we bound it. Eh? Eh? Yeah, that was bad :p
Ohhh how is Wand+Bow? I was thinking about making that later down the line since it sounds super sick! Also It didnt even occur to me to use Homing Darts on my BrGU LOL I'ma start doing that
@@everydere Unfortunately I'm down on the funds to get the multi set up, but I have an alliance-mate who's a die-hard fan of wand who set up a wand/bow too. I have yet to try it myself, but I'll be sure to tie you in once I do!
@@everydere So hey, decided to multi a Primm wand/bow just to test. With Shifta/Deband active using a bow normal between techniques puts it almost on par with Rod for sustaining PP. Element Change and Dim Ray both remain constant through weapon swaps, so method-changing on the fly isn't so bad. The only "bad" part is that when running the back-and-forth sustain option, you're practically immobile since Wand techs all cast in place. Nothing a little oncoming attack awareness can't solve, but it does damper it a bit in exchange for the sustain and burst that bow provides. Not bad overall, but it might take some warming up to. Probably gonna set up Talis/Bow instead, for a smidge more mobility plus convergence shot doing just fine to rack up down factor.
@@EternalChronicler Yooo thanks for the followup for your testing! I ended up doing Talis+Bow after getting a recommendation for it on Bow Braver and it's been working out pretty nicely.
So your choices are to purchase it from the personal shops (Search "Primm Bow" or "Tzvia Bow" or "Vialto Bow" "Resurgir Bow" "Straga Bow") or get it from a drop. Hope that helps you out!
@@kelnhide theres 3 weapon etoile can equip, Double saber, dual blade, and wand iirc, dual blade is soaring blade in global and its weapon action cannot track dash to targeted enemy as far as i can remember, only etoile Double saber(fighter weapon) weapon action can track dash to targeted enemy
Yes and no, they already said they would not be bringing back Scion classes, but that doesnt mean that they wont add a class with some similarities. Ideally we could somewhat have our old Scions back, in feel, if they get to a point where at least 2 class have some of, or most of, the old class feel, then you could use them as a main and sub.
Check the class instructor once you unlock ti! I don't think you can select braver ASAP from the char creation screen, but you can select it from the instructor located across from the item lab.
Pinned comment has some cool sick rotations and their breakdowns (in frames + DPS + PP efficiency) and it's super sick! You should go check it out cause even I learned some more stuff from it!
Honestly I find the class lacking. You failed to mention the weapon action and counters but I understand why. The step counters do more damage than the actual counters you spend skillpoints on but the counters do give back some pp. Still not worth it imo. Braver seems to be made to be a subclass only since most if not all its skills are not bound to the class. Ranger/braver with multiweapon rifle/bow is ok imo.
Yeah the WA counters areee pretty underwhelming compared to the step counter unless you need PP regen. Step Counter also does a little teleport on Braver which keeps you completely stuck to what you're attacking which is nice. Now Fearless Attitude is actually a different story and that's where the skill gap for bravers is going to come into play. For some reason SEGA decided to make Braver "NGS Hunter 2.0: The Sequel", so the same staggering playstyle you do on Hunter to max your DPS is the same playstyle NGS Braver has. So with PA combo Retention you can stagger your PAs exactly the same as playing Hunter to get super consistent fearless attitude procs which regen 30-40pp + deal 600-ish DPS (According to the DPS sheets). Overall, I kinda wish it was more in line with base PSO2 braver which focused more on active counters via WA, but that sorta kinda became NGS Fighter LOL. Now since I ended up maining Hunter since "ha ha big sword go swing", I ended up picking up Braver SUPER fast and easily since the playstyle is nearly 1:1 to Partizan just better than Partizan.
back then Katana Braver rewards you for studying enemy attack patterns and countering everything. It became one of Braver's highest damage outputs. But now, it doesn't. You would just rather step dodge when the enemy is on the ground
Was hyped for Katana but got disappointed. I have so much issues with it. I tried to Multiweapon it with Twin Dagger and I ended up playing Twin Dagger more. Twin Dagger counter is much better and tracks enemies far better. When you’re fighting in mid air, Katana Braver’s step dodge is useless. In Base PSO2, the actual weapon action counter damage was good and it rewarded you with a buff if your gear was filled up. Here, there’s no reason to use it in general except for when you are far away. Fearless attitude, the skill that lets you counter after attacking, it’s a good concept but its execution is not good. Only works when you’re point blank to the enemy. That becomes a problem when Braver Combat is down. You have no gap close in this class. It’s another “use wired lance as multiweapon” which in my opinion is bad because they are forcing players to do such a thing in order to compensare for the inherent design issues. Even Multiweapon is not really good with some of the restrictive behaviors some skills have on each classes. For example in Braver, using a skill from a different weapon despite the weapon being part of a multiweapon Katana, it will break Katana PA Combo retention. Lastly, Katana PA Combo retention, it is pretty limiting. I don’t know if it is because the window is short or it really just doesn’t retain the count if you are not using Katana PAs, but even countering breaks this skill which is absurd. They should allow this skill to maintain the PA combo in more situations than just Katana PAs. I honestly think it should just be a window where you just need to launch a Katana PA and it would not care what you do in between. If they do this, I hope multiweapon is not an issue.
Hi Hi! Thanks for your input on Katana! Yeah I agree it's mostly a playstyle choice for if you enjoy Katana or not. When we compare it to Fighter vs Braver, I think Fighter imo would fit players like you better where Twin Daggers has a gap closer + great mobility thanks to acceleration drive along with pretty constant damage and a focus on using the WA for countering. Fighter feels more in line with base PSO2 Braver where you really wanted to focus on countering pretty much everything + gave uptime for Katana Braver. The NGS version of Braver is more along the lines of NGS Hunter and Hunter Arts Avenger. Which IMO is a weird decision, but I guess it's because NGS Fighter took over the original Braver identity. Fearless Attitude is mostly to be treated like Hunter Arts Avenger where you can get it to trigger pretty consistently by staggering your PA combos before you get hit which is something that Hunter does as well. For uptime, I maintain about the same uptime as Hunter with 0 issues on Katana, but that mainly comes down to the playstyles being REALLY similar (This is without wired lance use too). I treat Braver Katana more along the lines of Hunter Partizan, just with better PAs overall + more versatility. Now Katana PA Combo Retention, I think you may be using it wrong because the tooltip+how it works is only for Katana PAs exclusively. The main use for this is to use PAs based on your situation + stagger PAs for fearless attitude (which replaces your counter and does not interrupt your combo. This also deals 2x-ish more damage than Countering + nearly fills your whole PP bar). I agree though it should maintain the PA combo in more than just Katana PAs, cause I would love to do something as basic as Silverleaf (1) -> Dimensional Ray -> Silverleaf (3). Overall though, I'd say the gameplay for katana comes down to if you prefer Fighter vs Hunter gameplay since SEGA decided to make Braver "Hunter 2.0: Electric Boogaloo". Whiiich I think is why a lot of people are getting offput by it. ALTHOUGH this is only on the Katana side LOL, when we look at Bow it gets even weirder since it's actually a better Rifle.
@@everydere When I first played NGS Katana Braver, I honestly had a hard time understanding what they were going for. Braver combat wants you to go ham and spam skills yet its counter gameplay kit suggests to play it slow. I really like the counter gameplay concept but to me it just doesn't work given its current state. Like almost everyone posting Bujin runs shows Step Guard to be much more effecient. That says a lot when the current kit is being ignored. Perhaps when new skills are added, they may buff this. I get that fearless attitude does not interrupt it, but again, it's point blank. Going back to what I was saying, i wouldn't mind playing a slow counter gameplay as long as it is rewarding. Right now, this just isn't it IMO. Also, I will admit that I have a little bias. I always wanted to play a Katana class in base PSO2 but the later content's verticality causes some issues in Braver and Phantom Katana. Both were not really effecient. Braver heavily relied on Katana Combat for tracking while Katana Phantom had insane PP requirements to be viable. That's why I was hoping they would do justice to Katana gameplay this time around and give it a good set of kit that do not make it suffer the same issues it did on Base PSO2. Even though this is not Katana, peak counter gameplay for me in Base PSO2 is Fomel Luster.
Yknow when you mention Phantom's PP cost, I think that's the one thing I'm sad that they took from that scion LOL. Braver in base PSO2 was a powerhouse at first but then stayed eternally balanced but morning mistweaver+gurren always kept it super competitive. Also the PP costs on it were ridiculously low. I still needa post my bujin braver run eventually, but for that fight specifically I tend to prefer the step guard since he moves constantly and it teleports you. Although with my RNG he KEEPS doing that one move where he flips back + throws, so for that one I have to step dodge backwards so I could teleport onto him and keep my uptime + DPS. I think in a bujin, I get maybe 2-3 fearless attitudes off before he either dashes so now i have to step guard, or he spams that throw move so I have to step guard to catch him. Also I agree NGS vs Base pso2 is SUUUUUPER slow, but slow counter gameplay needs something REALLY impactful either visually or big numberwise to really get it to be fun. Like Hunter for example, when you trigger avenger you hear a "DING" followed by going red and seeing your damage nearly triple. But for fearless attitude, it looks exactly like the normal counters (minus going white for a second) + the damage vs a step guard is better and you get a crapton of PP, but it doesn't have that feed back or immediate huge damage that avenger procs give. Now fomel Luster + Luster in general is the main reason why I'm waiting for gunblade in 2022 cause I was a gunner main from episode 3 onwards in Japan, then when I switched to Global on launch I stayed gunner too until Luster. And hoooboi the counter gameplay on Luster is something that I REALLY miss from base PSO2. Even if I didn't do Fomel and I switched to Baran, guard pointing + having access to my counters as well still felt REALLY good. With Braver they made it into NGS Hunter 2.0, but NGS Gunblade I REALLY hope they retain how crazy fluid+fast Luster felt along with the high amount of counters. Annnnd if they don't 100% this channel is going to probably focus on another game tbh LOL
@@everydere I agree about the visuals part. If I were to be honest, I think a lot of the classes suffer from that. It just lacks that punch when you do Photon Blasts or certain skills. In regards to Fearless Attitude, if I were to inject my ideals on that, I think it should have gap closing/disengage mechanic. Kinda like Luster's step dodge putting forward or backward directional changes its behavior. Also they need to tweak the damage on the counter skills. It just doesn't feel right that Step Dodge counter outshines them both.
@@megalith Ohh that change to fearless would really work out to be honest. It'd definitely make it feel more worth it since step dodge has a freakin teleport LOL. Honestly I wonder what the rationale was behind making fearless attitude 1:1 to the WA counter but better, instead of making it like step dodge where it's a teleporting slash onto your locked on point. Also I can confirm, my favorite move in the WHOLE game is down to Calibur Streak from just how freaking good it feels especially with an avenger proc. But everything else in the game is kindaaa missing the punch like you said.

Hope that helps you out!
OH no there's still countering! It's sadly not like PSO2 so we don't get Katana Gear (Gear system in general has been yeeted). So instead you have your Katana Counter which shoots a slash, Step Counter which teleports you, and FA Counter whiiich is super complicated and special. FA Counter is what is going to separate normal bravers and god bravers. Basically, after every attack you do you get a counter activation window. If you successfully counter with this window, you deal a HUGE amount of damage but it's harder to time than the normal counters. On top of this, it does not interrupt your PA Combos so it's actually the best option if you can pull it off consistently. But the big thing you should take from it, is that FA Counters deal basically *2x* more damage than the other counter options which is pretty nuts. In about a month once Braver mains really deep dive into it (Even I'm going to deep dive), the stuff that'll come out is going to be ridiculous.
I understand the motivation but, really they should fix that class. I understand the idea of oo~ wait till later they'll add more stuff. It shouldn't have to be like that, at least release the class in a spot where it feels playable and not like you're gimping yourself with lack of mobility, it plays playing fighter with concrete shoes. That being said, good on ya for trying to motivate people but, it's been 3 days you shouldn't have to be motivating anyone if they did the class justice.
Imo it's mostly a playstyle choice, I've been playing partizan hunter+hunter in general sooo it's nearly 1:1 with the same general melee playstyle. Soo I haven't really felt gimped at all playing the class and after the DPS charts came out (Katana's behind knuckle by a little), I can confirm it's pretty much the same as playing most melees. I'm not really sure what people were looking for cause for me, Fighter feels hella gimped but Braver clicks perfectly.
@@everydere Yes it's a playstyle choice however, there's clearly some issues with how braver is currently. A lot of people I know have been dissatisfied with the class and how it feels, it just feels like it's missing something to polish the playstyle
@@zolore1228 I think what's missing for players (since they're definitely comparing it to Episode 5/6 levels of Braver), is the rapid spamming of PAs + Morning Mistweaver. In base PSO2, Braver once we got sakura endo type-0 turned into a HUGE spam fest of PAs that felt satisfying to smash your keyboard and watch numbers fly. On top of that, when we look at the history of braver in the game (from episode 3 all the way to current episode 6), there was ALWAYS some form of really fast button presses that you could do which felt satisfying. And this was before people even cared about gap closing (this didn't happen until Hero's release which was a dark time in JP). Like episode 3 Braver (forgive me for using JP names for PAs cause I only remember the JP names LOL) was boiled down to Tsukimi+Gekka loops for max damage and it was *SICK*. Shunkan-Shunran eventually took the spotlight since it was REALLY fuckin OP until it got nerfed, then Asagiri Rendan (Morning Mistweaver?) got popularity from how people were using it as a gap closer back then ESPECIALLY when Hero dropped and no one could keep up. Once we got the Gurren Tessen (Flash of Lotus?), Braver turned into a huge meme since you could just spam that 24/7 from how strong it was LOL. BUT It was also ridiculously fast thanks to that move too. And then we got Sakura-Endo Type-0 and more options for PA combos after it got nerfed. But yeah what I think people are feeling that's missing is literal Speed. Braver after spending A LOT of time on it, is a very slow and methodical class especially with the way it's setup for fearless attitude proccing, which is COMPLETELY opposite to the design it had in base PSO2. Even during a time in base PSO2 where gap closing wasn't an issue at all, Braver had SPEED and tons of it, but now in NGS it's definitely wayyy slower and the feedback isn't as good.
I've got like 4k SG from every SEGA mess up #BlessedRNG , soo I just pop it on cause there's no real use for it outside of material storage (SEGA screwed up again though, so I'ma get another year of material storage LMAO) Edit: Also most male drip is in the SG scratch
Maybe cuz I'm not into melee much this game and bow isn't flashy enough.....i got bored easily trying this class out. Hope that isn't the case for my PSO2 classic class Bouncer NGS version 🤔
Yeah for me the class clicked and I got really into it, but I'm more excited for later updates down the road. ATM I'd say only maybe 2-3 classes total really interest me in NGS LOL but it's all placeholders until I get my gunblade classs in 2022.

Glad I was able to help you out!
@@everydere Awesome! thanks for the reply!
Great stuff as always, my dude!
Thanks dude!
i actually just monke brain my way with braver lmao i like to always end combos with lotus if i can and honestly against my better judgement i sometimes use iris gale on a single target cause the animation activates all the neurons lmao. i do love the braver tho it singlehandedly revived my motivation for the game and im definitely gonna main it for the forseeable future, cant wait to see what they add when they lift the level cap
U really have to practice the timing with every different monster's atk pattern to consistently use it imo
I usually count out loud as soon as i see the frontal shield pops up so i will know when is it gonna expire, then i instantly hold wa to protect myself when i failed to time it correctly
Gonna have to give these katana combos a go, I couldn't figure out how to do Katana properly (compared to base PSO2), and have been living on bow due to how easy it is to do damage and live on it.
Check the pinned comment as well! Hot Penguin posted some calculations that really help out!
Katana have a gap closer the radiant something teleports you to the enemy
Hi sorry to bother again, but I was curious what subclass build you went for Force for your Braver/Force ? Thanks for the help!
@@everydere Thank you so much for the reply, your guides and follow-ups are super helpful for having something to build towards!
@@basedSHARK No problem! If there's any other things you have questions about feel free to ask!
what weapon line would you recommend for each of those weapons (katana / bow) and what unit (armor) would you use if the focus is more on katana?
Weapon Line I would reccomend at the moment if you're going to invest into your gear right now would be:
> Foursis Katana + WL (if you focus ONLY on katana) This option is cheap af
> Bow + Any sub you enjoy (Vialto series)
Resurgir with Fixa Fatale is what I would love to do with Katana + Bow multi'd, but the current pricing is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous since it's basically Day 3 braver release.
@@everydere last question :D
What do you think about going techter main and braver sub class?
Ok so I wanna know how do you use Katana/ wired lance if you don’t use hunter as a sub?
So the way it works (I currently Multi'd my Katana ONTO my Wired Lance from Hunter), is that you slot the weapon action for the wiredlance onto either your main palette OR your weapon palette itself. So my setup on my Katana now looks like this (I play BrGu/BrFo):
First Palette:
Normal Attack (Katana)
Silverleaf Storm
Lotus Lightning
Back palette:
Weapon Action (Wired Lance)
Silverleaf Storm
Lotus Lightning
and my Weapon Action for Katana is rebound to SHIFT so I always have access to it, and if I'm on controller I use DS4 windows and rebound L1 on a PS4 Controller to weapon action. Hope that helps you out! This lets you instantly have a gap closer and go back into any Katana move
@@everydere so you can use a weapon’s action without having the proper class? Br/Fo shouldn’t be able to equip a wired lance right?
@@SamuraiLJacks0n Yup you can use the weapon actions of weapons you multi-wep. So BrFo can't equip a wired lance, but if you have a Katana multi'd onto the wired lance, you can now equip it on BrFo/BrGu since technically it's a Wired Lance with a Katana. That's the current setup I'm using with my spare Foursis Wire from my Hunter maining so it's a +40 Foursis Wire with Potentials and then a Katana multi'd on top for 200k (Which is super cheap compared to making another foursis katana)
@@everydere thank you! That’s awesome

MY MOTIVATION
you recommend braver or fighter for dps?
@@everydere Don't worry about testing that. Mr Keroppi said it doesn't work because he tried it.
Oh god so FA counters gets way too advanced for this video, so here's the write up for it since I was planning on including it before i realized it'd get too complicated:
So FA's DPS is ridiculously good in comparison to ALL counter options (Step+WA Counter).
@@everydere I don't know if it help FA kinda the same thing as Just Attack in OG PSO2 If you think that way it help you with the timing pretty easily since you play a lot of PSO2
At first i don't know how i feel about FA because i can just PA counter my self but when im playing more i found that FA is pretty good when you ran out of PP it can help you if you're on spam those PA non stop and boss is going to hit you and it help me so many time lol
What does bow Weapon action do
It doesn't seem to block like katana's
Hi Hi! It's a dodge/ similar to Rifle
@@everydere ok thank you
what if you are using Braver as the Subclass? What Main Classes would that go well with a Braver Subclass?
With the way that Braver works, every choice works out perfectly. There's nothing too important that's locked behind Braver as a Main Class. My fave combos for Main Classing is Hunter/Ranger/Fighter/Techter.
fearless attitude trigger will not disrupt your combo string on PAs or normals. considering how forgiving the timeframe for FA is, trying to utilize it more is definitely better since you don’t have to step dodge an attack during your PA string and lose your PA level as a result.
Iris and Lotus both have guard point at the beginning of the PA, and Silverleaf when locked onto enemies can allow you to move left or right (similar to brand extension from luster)
mighty guard is actually pretty bad imo, since your perfect guard doesn’t trigger MG at all you don’t have to upgrade it at all.
Silverleaf x 2 + Lotus 1 is much more PP effecient than Lotus 2x + silver leaf 1, but not by much though. There's only 4 pp diference between the two
Yup I alternate between those two depending on what the enemy is doing!
Good job
Anyone else struggling to do the 2x lotus into lvl3 silver leaf? Im seem to only get a lvl1 silver leaf, regardless of how fast I try to do it
Hmm so if you're getting level 1 silver leaf, my guess is your lotus chain might be starting later than normal (All Braver PAs chain together).
I play te/br pretty good damage because 1st shifta/deband
2nd nobody plays techer since braver came up
1 bad thing though need to play resurger series cause i think there are no cataleya katana which the wand i spent upgrading and straga katana are expensive

@@variablex melra, domina AND ael note b should also work.
Yup as the other viewers said, those are pretty much your only options at the moment which are relatively easy to obtain until we get more options.
Ael Domina, Alts Secreta II, Melra Dualble III & Ael Note B. Dolz Soul III technically has a higher damage increase than Ael Note B though.
@@Zer0Perplexity Potency floor increase should be avoided at all times. Any other potency increase is still better overall. I would personally go with daiytil soul or gigas might on 2 units and gigas precision on the last unit so your melee is slightly stronger.
in Vanford I used a braver combat finish and the skill just... started up again, I have no idea why or if it is Drome jank but it let me use the finish twice
Also I always start every combo with lotus I don't have the pp to do 3 combos so there is no point in being stingy with it :/
OH OKAY So to explain what happened there (I get it frequently happening to me).
Silverleaf Storm > Silverleaf Storm > Lotus Lightning - when I need more mobility and gap closer
# Lotus Lightning > Silverleaf Storm > Lotus Lightning - takes the highest damage instances of each PA and has good PP efficiency# || **This actually doesn't work as I thought** Silverleaf Storm > Lotus Lightning > Lotus Lightning ends up being better
Silverleaf Storm > Iris Gale > Iris Gale - for AoE
And for high burst damage only spam Lotus Lightning when in Braver Combat, or when the Boss is down.
Att.
Yoo thanks for sharing your rotations! I haven't tried Lotus-Silver-Lotus yet so I'm definitely going to try it out! Also I agree melee in general, the mobility is lacking which is offset by higher DPS in general vs ranged. But it still feels bad having to dash after stuff tbh LOL so I hope SEGA down the road gives everyone back their gap closers like:
Asagiri Rendan/Gurren Tessen for Katana
Guilty Break/Hero Flash move for Sword
Heartless Impact for Knuckles
Safoie Type-0 + Ilzonde for Rod/Talis/Wand
But we might see those come back in winter since the game is nearly 1:1 atm to Episode 3 Japan PSO2. Which I think is interesting how they mirror each other, but also I would love some of the new toys we got later in base PSO2's life.
It would be great if sega brought these PAs along with the lvl cap and new areas. And for Katana I don't expect less from Sega than a Quick Cut hahaha
Man, I miss Quick Cut so much...
@@wilsonrocha5079 Ohhh thanks for the update! Also I really miss quick cut style moves on melees along with guilty break on sword OTL
What a best unit fixa for Braver Katana ?

I don’t see braver class😢
Check the class instructor once you unlock ti! I don't think you can select braver ASAP from the char creation screen, but you can select it from the instructor located across from the item lab.
CAST ASIDE THEIRS NO COMING HOOOOMEEEE!!!!!
I use Silverleaf -> Lotus -> Lotus I’m no super Braver main though
'i dont see any glaring weakness'
me: 2 sp for shit counter.. think about it..
But everything else in the game is kindaaa missing the punch like you said.

damn no more counter like pso2 :( rip braver
First!
Holy hot posting that was fast
It's so cringe watching these kids making guides when you can press 1 button for your character to auto play
LMAO the truth. Sometimes i mess around with the autoplay button to see how far it'll take me when grinding. and the answer is VERY FAR LOL Ty SEGA
Why r people spending on the sg scratch its a scam
I've got like 4k SG from every SEGA mess up #BlessedRNG , soo I just pop it on cause there's no real use for it outside of material storage (SEGA screwed up again though, so I'ma get another year of material storage LMAO)
Edit: Also most male drip is in the SG scratch
Maybe cuz I'm not into melee much this game and bow isn't flashy enough.....i got bored easily trying this class out. Hope that isn't the case for my PSO2 classic class Bouncer NGS version 🤔
Yeah for me the class clicked and I got really into it, but I'm more excited for later updates down the road. ATM I'd say only maybe 2-3 classes total really interest me in NGS LOL but it's all placeholders until I get my gunblade classs in 2022.
