@@Thriftshoppin KEY question I have on Subclasses, also a very new player and want to pick a good one: I've seen an Active skill of a subclass that normally has a long duration cancel itself instantly if I switch back to my Main's weapon. Great video dude! I just started on ps4 a couple of days ago and was running in blind. Made it to lvl 45 and just now decided to look at a guide lmfao. Definitely learned alot
I would definitely make a full length video on skill tree. Who has a ranger with level 3 blight because they put 20 points into bad condition ward/reduction? I did. Thank the lord for these 3 reset skill things. I was also rocking 40+ gold primm armor when I first started, because I thought it would give more exp from defeated enemies.

You can add buying Material Storage with Star Gems from the SG Shop on your future tips for new players. Freeing up Inventory space is nice. It does cost 720 SG (90 days) , saving up those Star Gems is important for new players.
I may be in the minority here, but for accounts that are not involved with base PSO2, I find there to be little reason to invest in material storage at the current gamestate. There just isn't enough materials to justify the 720 SG expense every three months. As NGS becomes bigger and more resources pile up, definitely. However, at the current state, it makes more sense to make two alts for storage mules and using those characters to store anything excess.
@@Thriftshoppin I mostly use the material storage to auto store materials I get on the field and my old pso2 materials. I also don't spend that much of my SG on other stuff anyways.
Hi Thriftshoppin, found your video due to the recent PS4 announcement. While I'm quite excited, as a new player, there's also a fair bit of confusion in regards to which game to play at launch. So I'd like to ask you and any other vets in the comments: Is PSO2 worht playing at all at this point or should I just start with PSO2NG? My worry is that having both available will split the new userbase if there is no clear direction to take. Does completing PSO2 grant any benefits to NG? Is it even possible to beat PSO2 solo if everyone just starts NG instead? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
PSO2 has a lot of features and content that is worthy of going back and playing. You should NOT feel obligated to start PSO2 before PSO2:NGS. They are separate storylines. So in my opinion, start in NGS, and whenever you feel bored or want something new to do, use PSO2 as an option to try new things. The pro response is: PSO2 gives a TON of star gems, a microtransaction currency. PSO2NGS has very little options to earn Star Gems when compared to PSO2. So that's the major reason why (at some point) you'll try PSO2. Hope this answer helps!
@@Thriftshoppin Thank you for the reply. I definitely suggest preparing a new beginner's guide aimed towards the new PS4/PS5 players as I'm sure my question will come up a LOT. It will help your channel for sure!
Personally, I never had issued finding people to run stuff with on Ship 3, I've actually created 3 different characters just to see how the population compared on Ship 1 and 2 and from my personal experience, the blocks on ship 3 are about as full as those on ship 1 and 2, ship 3 does have a lower prime time population compared to 1 and 2 though, so there's still some validity to your statement. Here's how I would categorize the ships population-wise. Ship 1: High Pop Ship 2: High Pop Ship 3: Medium Pop Ship 4: Low Pop
For sure! The new "Beginners block" REALLY helps players find things to do. It funnels most players into the same block for all training and story progression so its much easier to find players.
I just started playing this on Xbox Series S and currently in the tutorial. I don’t have chat enabled yet. Is it like this when you first start the game and when will things such as chat and adding friends become available?
I'm new to PSO2NG. I didn't even know what to decide on for the set up screens because every decision you make seems permanent. So I'm trying to get info first. These are questions about permanent decisions I have to make before playing. Question 1) I have downloaded PSO2NG on my Xbox one s. Can I load up my character with my user account then later can my brother log in with his user account so that we have different character profiles when we play? Question 2) when the screen first says if you want to link accounts, I would choose yes to connect accounts if I might want to play on another device later on (like another xbox console). Isn't that what everyone should pick? Why would you choose no to not link accounts? Question 3) for the player ID, can I use my UA-cam name? My gamertag name? What are some good suggestions? What are some bad suggestions? I heard to not use your real name. Question 4) When I choose race and class can I change them later? Question 5) Do I get 3 free slots of characters to create? Question 6) If I mess up my character and don't like them, can I delete them and start over and still have the same amount of slots for characters? Question 7) When I first pick a ship, can I change it later easily? Thank you
Just one addition! Your race cannot be changed when you make your character- it will be displayed as whatever you first choose! I made this mistake, I wanted a Nueman character but I selected human, thinking I could change it later. You can’t! You can change appearance to look like a Nueman, but you can’t officially change it.
Yo thank you so much! I just started Pso2 on ps4 today and I was wondering why the Bouncer wasn’t available during the beginning. I was so mad I was forced to play Fighter for the tutorial😅😅😅
This video explain better than others. Good joob bro. BTW I just started play a week a go and want to ask. If my main is gunner what subclass do you recommend choosing and idk about the equipment system and what suits the best for new player.

With that being said, pop into the discord (link is in the description of this video) we have a class discussion channel and I promise someone can lead you to a class guide for any classes you're interested in.
For sure! Soon youll need 1400+ for some quests so the extra attack power of the 5 star elemental series will make achieving those requirements much easier

I have question about exp penalties..i'm main tmg and on lvl 18...i play at the factories place where the monster is lvl 10...the thing is i still get ton of exp even though my lvl is more 5 than the monster...and i see there are other people that lvl 26 that still play at that area...so how that happen ...should that place only good for people untill lvl 15 only...can you explain that...
Yeah they changed the EXP penalty since my guide released. So the current penalty is -5 Levels to +10 Levels. Example: Level 25 enemy you would receive exp from level 20 to 35
Why are my graphics so bad for the ps5 version? I'm watching everyone else play and it's beautiful but I'm playing with all of my graphical settings maxed out and it looks atrocious.
I am unsure of this! You can definitely take a look into the graphics tab of the system options and double-check that they're all not defaulted to low quality
I haven't started playing yet (just downloaded it) because it's asking me for a code, and I can't figure out where I'm supposed to get it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
It would help if you specify what device and/or launcher you are playing on. Typically the code it is requesting for is a "link ID" if you wish to link an account from a previous device to the new one. If you are new you should be able to bypass this. Come join our discord we will be able to help you in a much more timely manner. Link to the discord in the description of this video.
I wanna play a good characters to can deal with any situation. Should i try Hunter for main class and Ranger for sub class to deal with enemies that fly super high up? Or are there no enemies that are that far away (like there way in PS Universe)? I wanted to play as mage but I know in my heart I'll always be a hit and run bob and weave rogue style RPG player.
Enemies do go in the sky, but they can be reached via double-jumping. However, you do lose a bit of verticality every attack so melee classes will either need to use skills that increase their verticality or drop to the ground and double-jump again. IMO the best classes to try as a new player are: Hunter: Any weapon to experience Avenger Arts. You may really like counter-heavy combat, all 3 weapons deal with counter-based combat Fighter: Any wep but I'd personally suggest Double Saber and Twin Dagger Braver: Katana is super dense with combos and skills if youre willing to deal with a learning curve Gunner: All combo based class, stylish combat, very strong Force: Best AoE farming class. You'll use this class at some point simply because of this reason
@@Thriftshoppin I'm gonna start with Hunter and sub fighter but if it doesn't work out I'll sub gunner. I wish I could play mages but it has never been my style unless pets and fast casting small spells are a thing. Better to just get good at dodge and counter and aerial combat. Especially for when PP runs out.
Pets are not a thing in PSO2:NGS currently. A new class, Waker, was announced and will release in August. No summons but "familiars" are conjured to attack. So kind of like pets?
@@Thriftshoppin I'll try it as long as it's not a glassjaw or glass cannon. If nothing else I'd be good to pair as a subclass with hunter. That way I get the def and atk.
Just be smart and you will have zero problems :). I haven't spent a single dollar on resetting skills. Skill pages aren't that detailed when compared to other games so as long as you double check with some vets before confirming your skill page build youll be fine~!
Do you mean mogs as in transmogs? Currently no, but there are a ton of weapon camos that you can use to customize the appearance of your weapon. Unfortunately there is not trading system in PSO2:NGS. However, many players use the auction house to transfer gear to one another.
OHHHH you mean mags? YES!! They are still a thing and have a bunch of different skins so you can customize the look of them. NGS introduced the ability to make them invisible if you wish which is what I prefer.
Yup! Make sure to be within 4 levels of the mob you encounter. SEGA did announce that yellow triggers will have no exp penalty so they may change the +/-4 level penalty down the road.
@@Thriftshoppin Ehhhh.. I'd say ESO is better in both fronts BUT this is my personal opinion. They did do ok with the anime theme and the graphics are not BAD and the combat is action combat, very.. Gundam inspired it feels. I guess it's just not my cup of tea XD i did try it though. I'm sure people love the hell out of it for what it has, i, personally, think it's boring and generic.
lol this is a great informative video but the robotic way youre saying everything and the pauses here and there are just so frustrating imho i get that youre trying to be clear and concise but its just not for me, uts rather annoying
That unfortunate to hear! I think for most players logging in daily they would agree with your sentiment. However, for new players there is plenty to work on that will motivate them. Battle power, leveling up, triggers and UQ's are driving factors for the content side of NGS, plus fashion is a reason to log in and do weeklies + farming for meseta so you can play in the salon.
I love that they went with the main/sub class system. It's always way more interesting than the traditional system.
I agree! Hopefully there will be more multipotency support and there will be some real wacky and wild weapon and class combinations that are relevant~

Then there will be a different button to use subpallette
my food is always 6 light meats 2 rich meats and 2 rich fruits gives you pp and potency and pp recover plus pp reduction
🗣where is pt 2?!
Either tomorrow or Thursday!
where is the series?
Seems so much more complicated than PSO2 on DC, GC and XBOX...CANYOU TRADE? Are there MOGS...?
Do you mean mogs as in transmogs? Currently no, but there are a ton of weapon camos that you can use to customize the appearance of your weapon. Unfortunately there is not trading system in PSO2:NGS. However, many players use the auction house to transfer gear to one another.
Ahhh so kinda same...the MOGS meaning the helper you had on your shoulder...I finally got Eleanor. I hope this is like old yet new....
OHHHH you mean mags? YES!! They are still a thing and have a bunch of different skins so you can customize the look of them. NGS introduced the ability to make them invisible if you wish which is what I prefer.
Heaven sent
Gotchu fam. Some of the things here are a little outdated but hit me up in the discord if you have any concerns
@@Thriftshoppin bet just started and am trying to get to the game. Saw the fashion and I was in
I just into this game and had no idea there was a penalty in exp
Yup! Make sure to be within 4 levels of the mob you encounter. SEGA did announce that yellow triggers will have no exp penalty so they may change the +/-4 level penalty down the road.
14 day Temporary suspension on neverwinter so I’m here…
Yikes!
Ship 1 is dead asf, only one block is full which is b1
Ship mergers when?! it would be a benefit imo
Not sure if that’s even a rumor yet. It would require a stable big server, ngs was struggling last I played.
Fruits increase your PP
remember to eat your fruits people.
Yup! Its important to make multiple recipes. I have many recipes with fruits for extra pp but by fat the most important ingredient is meat for potency
Ship 3 is less populated? Lol. Ship 2 and 3 r the most populated
👍😁
Hi
Bork
Bork!
Man.. i tried this game and the start is BORING AS HELL! Generic futuristic animoo world is generic, lol
Give it time, the world can change plenty. What they got right is the combat and graphics which is a HUGE win
I'm sure people love the hell out of it for what it has, i, personally, think it's boring and generic.
lol this is a great informative video but the robotic way youre saying everything and the pauses here and there are just so frustrating imho
i get that youre trying to be clear and concise but its just not for me, uts rather annoying
Fair enough! Tons of information so I had to use a script~
nothing to do in game. so boring.
