- Hey I’m Josh from Adelaide, South Australia. I'm a proud father of 3 and passionate about heavy music.
I was the bass player for post-hardcore/alternative rock group Capulet from 2004-2012, releasing an album, EP and several demos.
Capulet were signed to the Taperjean Music Group alongside Closure in Moscow and The Mission in Motion.
Highlights of my music career were playing with amazing bands like Anberlin, Emery, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Haste the Day, Awaken I Am, and touring Australia several times.
I wasn’t the most technical bass player, but lived for performing on stage. I have always loved the process of song writing and the visual art that accompanies music.

This song can be interpreted on a global scale but also on a personal level.
BabyMetal will go down as Japan's greatest metal band. So fucking good! Esp the stuff from the last few years (when they added Kami band and went from just a niche idol group to a full fledged metal band)
Great reaction. This is a beautiful song - but it is deep too. From my starting point of almost complete ignorance I have been learning so much from comments under other reactions about Ragnarok and the Norse mythology being referenced and the consensus is there are also many references to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, even if it is not specifically about those tragic events.
The "monochrome firework" could be the bomb and the tree they used in the visuals throughout and that was finally shown in colour at the end could be the Hiroshima Peace Tree that survived the bombing as well as the tree of life from Norse mythology.
If you check the original video @ 1:05, things become even more clear.
Given Suzuka was born in Hiroshima, it explains why her voice in this song gives this enormous amount of emotions...
The production quality of this track is unprecedented.

Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse.
Expect the unexpected is what BM is all about, you got it right.
Next month we won't have single release, January is next, most likely before the live performance.
So far reactors in general are liking DA - Shingeki over this new single but once you know what's the meaning behind ths you're gonna look this song and hit you differently, lemme tell you more about it.
They're using the Norse mythology (Yggdrasil is the Tree Of Life, as the Aogiri one of the survivor tree in Hiroshima) and the monochrome fireworks as a metaphor, once you know where SuMetal was born it all makes sense. But instead of endorse negativity she's giving us hope that if a war or any other sad moment (like the recent pandemic) is happening nowadays, the colors will be back.☔☀️🌈
There's probably a connection with the first single DA - Shingeki, after all is a concept album and there might be some connections in general, we all know so far that this time they're introducing us to their metalverse with 10 different worlds and songs, and we're gonna see the full picture once the full album is out, probably some more hints with the next singles coming and the live performance next January. OTFGK.

Although I prefer "Divine Attack" musically, this one hooked me from the lyrics perspective. They got way deeper in this one with some obscure references to the end of the world. But with a hint of optimism and hope at the end.

It is not. Each song of the concept album represents a parallel world, not any real world event. The whole song is about the end of that world.
@@allegorical Parallel worlds still can be grounded in "our reality" but have slight differences mate.
@@allegorical you're both right and wrong 😅, this is definitely about Hiroshima, but through a metaphorical different dimension. I guess The Other One will try to "fix" the plagues of our time, trough a journey to different realities. We'll have to wait for the complete album to see 🤷🏻♂️.

Divine Attack is definitely the more immediately appealing of the two they've released so far, but Monochrome is the one that really grew on me after listening a few more times. It's just so wonderfully melancholy and pensive, I love it!
