Well, one of the musicians, Mikio (RIP Mikio), was a music teacher. Many called him Fujioka-sensei. Bassist BOH wrote about him after his death (sad part warning !):
When I asked him, "Sensei, what would you do if in the future your daughter will bring a musician boyfriend?" he said "We'll go together at the studio and do a guitar battle! And then if he wins a battle of music sight reading, I'll approve him".
He really said that seriously. No chance he would have won.
I have a lot of memories about Fujioka Sensei. It has been a short time, but it was so rich that it's full to maximum capacity. The reason why I called him 'Sensei' wasn't just for the fact that he was a guitar teacher, but he was a walking musical theory book, and that's not an exaggeration, so deep was his knowledge of music. And then even when he was a bit annoying, when I started the sentence with "Fujioka Sensei...", the conversation that followed was always friendly.
This song's outro is supposed to be a kind of an intro to the next song in the album. It's called The One and it is available on UA-cam.
“The One” is what babymetal fans call themselves / are called by the band.

BABYMETAL actually performed this song live once...but what is even crazier is that the girls have choreography to this song! This song was influenced by the band, Dream Theater, since Kobametal, BABYMETAL's producer, is a big Dream Theater fan. Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater said he was "BLOWN away" when he heard this song.

Dance of Eternity, the most complicated song previously with 108 time signature changes. BABYMETAL one ups DT by adding overlapping time signatures, vocals, and dance.

The Kami Band kicked this song's ass live, tho. The girls, too.
In the most recent interview in KADOKAWA magazine, Su and Moa talked about this song as very difficult song and practiced very hard for TOKYO DOME show. Even so, Su revealed that she lost the tune 10 seconds after the song started, so she sang without recognizing the tune during the first section of the song.
But we all have never noticed that in the live show or in the video. That’s the outcome of their hard work.

Each member of Kami Band are are master of the instruments they play , saw BabyMetal play at Tokyo Dome over 2 nights in 2016 and Tales of Destinies was played there for the only time ever live . Fucking so much heavier live i was in total aww of Kami Bands talents

They only played this song once in Tokyo Dome concert, fyi Tales of The Destinies actually a one long song together with The One, a song dedicated to their international fans so that they have english lyric in it, the piano part outro in ToTD is actually The One intro, please do check the live version for your own, it was EPIC!

Recently we have known that Su IEM stopped working and she had to perform all the choreo and singing guiding herself by the drums instead by the click track. And she did it so good that we had not noticed until now.

That's in the recent 10 years interview. We didn't realize, but now if you look closely at the start of the song she is already looking worried and to the left all the time, probably were the sound engineer was.

The outro is actually the intro to The ONE, these were supposed to be played together, like the Trilogy of Light (Starlight, Shine, Arkadia, indeed the outro in Starlight's MV is the intro to Shine), but yes, it's so complicated that they actually performed it live only once, at the Red Night at Tokyo Dome 2016, the choreography is pretty dope too, I guess when the lights went down between the two songs, on stage they were all like "yes, we did it!"

I love their live performance of The One but I think better to listen the studio version.
There are at least 8 different tempos in this song, there's a special kind of mindset needed for this kind of music, I come from a musical background and am able to appreciate this one. However I can understand those who are unable, it is so technical and complicated that for some it is hard to follow, and that is is completely ok.

I really like your priceless, different kinds of "wtf" expressions :D. Someone on Reddit did a chart of all the time signature changes in the song a few years back. If I remember it right, it tallied up to over 20. That's some serious Dream Theater - Dance of Eternity s*it, which is probably the inspiration of the song. Only with singing and choreography.
I think the song title refers to the "Moirai" of greek mythology (or "Fates" in English translation), which were the three incarnations of Destiny. Birth, Life span, Death to really oversimplify it.
Su said in an interview from 2016, after the only time they performed it live in their Tokyo Dome concert, that she was afraid of performing the song and tense the whole concert because of it (TOTD was the second to last song and leads directly into The One). She felt really relieved afterwards when they played The One that it went so smoothly. You should definitely check out the live a few people already linked. One of the best parts is, in my opinion, you can see the band in the background almost the whole song, it's pretty crazy. I think the first time I could concentrate on the girls and the choreo was in my 3rd watch because of it. The Kami Band members in this performance were Mikio Fujioka and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Probably (at least in my opinion) the most talented Kami Band lineup.
A very good analyst reactor that made this song around 3 months ago called TotD an offbeat monster when he heard it.
The song ends like this because it is the intro to The One, the two songs are meant to go together.
It is crazily complex to play, Kami Band has dared to perform it live only once and they looked 120% concentrated all the time.
Su-metal basically said she wasn't nervous to perform at Tokyo Dome, their biggest own show for 2 days, but nervous to perform this song of the first time.

If you listen closely, this is not only about the music, but also the vocal harmonies between three girls, kudos for Yui and Moa they fill the song pretty well!
Beethoven, Mozart, Bach......they would all love this song from BABYMETAL. It is complex and complicated and yet it works so well. YuiMetal and MoaMetal get a lot of singing parts in this and they all sound awesome together.

Their live performance of this song is incredible (Live at Tokyo Dome). As someone else already mentioned, you can see the band quite well during the song. The piano outro that links this song to The One is also something to behold. When you have 55,000 people wearing the neck brace that has a light attached to it (seems to be remote controlled as they all flash in unison) it simply breathtaking.
You might have no idea how to headbang to this, but they sure knew how to dance to this.... Yes, Babymetal DANCED to this song....

I went back and had a look at what songs you've listened to so far, and now, with the inclusion of "Tales of the Destinies", it actually seems to be a decent cross section of Babymetal's catalogue. The most glaring omissions seem to be "Road of Resistance" (unless you did that one, and it got taken down?), "Babymetal Death" and "Akatsuki". All Babymetal classics, and standard recommendations for new listeners :-)

Nice reaction!! BM is better live than the CD, and the same is true about this song. A couple of comments have been raised in the comments,I highly recommend watching the live video. Perfect playing, perfect SU singing, perfect YUI & MOA screaming, perfect dancing to the sound. It was astounding. However, there was 小神さま(kogami sama) at this time, but he is gone now...I fear that it will never be played again. And I'll tell you what's important. The MOA says "ban ban ban" when the sound is interrupted and the next sound comes on. You don't want to miss it!(Take a look at the vk com video linked in the other comments)

Well, one of the guitar players for this song (Fuji-kun) was a big Rammstein-Korn fan and he was a sensei also so people called him sensei. And once he came to the old temple in the mountains where a sensei Yamazuki was sittin and he told him- sensei im sensei tell me like sensei to sensei..but he wasnt able to finish cause sensei Yamazuki told him to prepare for a guitar battle of senseis. So it began and the riffs of linkin park smash mouth and blink182 was tearin the air apart and the lighting stroke twice and the deep voice said- dont believe sht from cmments

Yep, this is totally mental. To be honest, it took me a lot of time to get used to (believe, more than "iine") but then I watched the only live performance, followed by "The One" and all made sense. Alright, it's different, but being different is BABYMETAL's business so...

So many cool parts are actually homages to the great bands of prog rock! This is what is SO great about some of the babymetal stuff. Like Babymetal death borrowing One from Metallica. Catch me if you can borrows SIC by Slipknot . . .This song has keyboard lines from ELP, Yes: the breakup strains in transitions before the main chorus are from Jacobs Ladder of Rush permanent waves, and notice the final swell in the piano outro to "The One" is the opening guitar swell from Roundabout by Yes. . . .Really fun piece of music. This song was all over the place but in a good way I guess. Not a huge fan of this song since they have too many drastic changes but I enjoy it. The girls and the kami band must've been exhausted to perform this song live even if it was only once. Can you imagine trying to remember your next move while singing this song live? Its insane.

I’m late to the party, but I’d like to request: compare the album version to live, and explain what they did to make it playable.
This is beyond a doubt an homage to Dream Theater, and as a huge DT fan I really enjoyed it. From the Petrucci-esque guitar runs to the nod to Rudess' ragtime breakdown in Dance of Eternity. :)

This song has only been performed live once if I'm not wrong. Apparently it has 40 changes in time signature.
I still want to see you take a crack at covering Road of Resistance. It's crazy fast like this, but the song makes sense and doesn't suddenly completely switch up everything on the drop of a dime. It's not one of my absolute favorite songs of theirs, but its still very very good (written with Dragonforce's help) and the drummer goes God Mode. Anyway, fun reaction as always.
