Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐
Nice suggestion to keep following your BM journey with this new era.
Monochrome is another beautiful track from latest album, it was the 2nd single released in November 2022 and there's an official lyrics video really cool if you wanna enjoy the studio album version, later in 2023 right before this concert you just saw they released the Piano Version at The First Take surprising everyone with another stunning and beautiful one off stripped down version, highly suggested.
The lyrics got some Norse mythology reference and when the lyrics vid came out there were many theories around, later they said they were surprised about it and saying they just wanna give a hopeful song.
    Here's some official info:
_"One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is MONOCHROME and this 2nd pre-release digital single “Monochrome” centers around this theme. From the eyes of the children, what color were the monochrome fireworks lighting up in the night sky? This song expresses the hopeful wish on Ragnarok, which signifies doomsday in Norse mythology, twinkling across the starry skies in rainbow colors."_
This was live at BabyMetal Begins - PIA Arena MM Clear Night, Yokohama on April 2, MomoMetal first concert as an official member (she's the new official member after YuiMetal left the group in 2018), you can notice SuMetal speaking to them in the middle section and giving that recognition.
They got this magical moment when performing live in every setlist they did throughout this whole World Tour 2023, and we'll definitely gonna see more this year.
The composer behind this song is the same one behind Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Kagerou, the arrangement of Megitsune and also behind Believing from this same latest album, you should really not miss those songs.
    Next suggestion:
    - MAYA live at PIA Arena MM official MV.
    .
Like SuMetal said at the end: "Just smile".🙂
Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🌈

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed this very performance at the venue where and when Momoko was inducted as an official 3rd member. I sang the ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part with Momometal, who had headset mic for the first time like Moa has done since BM's inception. I did it with my loudest voice in the show. What a bliss!
The flying drones with cameras that enabled the beautiful aerial cinematograph were manipulated by experts including Ms. Shiraishi. She is a member of team Japan for World Drone Racing Championship.
Western (American) Kami Band played in the girls' back like they did in BM's North American tour with DETHKLOK and EU/UK tour last year.

Great reaction as always! And yes, definitely “go back in time” with Babymetal 👌.
    For the heavy:
*1). Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* Su-metal solo, epic band flex, dark and ominous.
*2). Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014):* Only Babymetal can pull off such a brutally heavy song with such adorable cuteness. Oh, and an epic band flex.
*3). BABYMETAL DEATH (Legend 1997):* Show closer to your “Headbanger” reaction. Title should give it away.
*4). Maya (Babymetal Begins - Black Night):* From the same 2-day concert as Monochrome, newer song, very heavy.
*5). Amore (Wembley, 2016):* Not necessarily “heavy”. Just an amazing love ballad…except to shreddy AF guitars and non-stop blast beats. Use “Babymetal Reactors Resource” to appease the copyright Gods on this one.

Great reaction. You were right about this being an uplifting song taking us from possibly the darkest place where all colour is gone, but reassuring us that "no matter how long the night, the morning will arrive" and finally illuminating the world in rainbow colours.🌈🦊
Definitely one of their slower songs, but a very special one for every audience they play to and Su has all of them help her to "light up this dark, dark world".
I saw 'Rondo of Nightmare' suggested for something different and heavier - live at Budokan Black Night with the 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods' instrumental intro is the one to go for (it is about 7 minutes long).

@@ADistortedPerception Excellent, both great choices. 'BABYMETAL Death' live at Legend 1997 will be the one people are hoping you will see ... we will explain what was happening for you, there are two videos for that which you could use, one has subtitles for the intro the other has the translation in the description. It may help a bit with understanding the performance.
'Rondo of Nightmare' is a Su-metal solo song, Yui and Moa were getting a break and a drink of water back stage.

allegedly it's about a girl who sees the A-bomb hit Hiroshima, Su-Metal comes from Hiroshima, she survives but dies at 14, the description of the bomb as a monochrome firework is supposed to be a childs take on the flash of detonation

    • @Grington300
      @Grington300 4 місяці тому

@@andreww2098 The visuals in the lyric video led people towards the theory on Hiroshima and maybe there is that possibility, but it is almost certainly not that specific. The lyric video was also released (I think) on the anniversary of the firebombing of Tokyo that killed over 100k people, then there is the reference to Ragnarok which would also not make it about Hiroshima.

Definitely, "Monochrome" is not among their heaviest songs. But I'm always surprised about the tone of those guitars when they play it live.
That was a quite a moment when Su-metal calls Moametal and (specially) Momometal for the first time and on her first concert as a full-fledged member. Previously, Momoko was an "Avenger", a backup dancer without a singing role (and without a metal name, btw), since 2019.

The purpose of the long intros is to give the girls a few moments to catch their breath and drink some water before the next song. All of Babymetal's big concerts in Japan are filmed for streaming and BluRay releases, so the video quality is always exceptionally high.
I was at Black Night/Clear Night and it was an incredible performance to be at. The crowd at PIA Arena was 10,000 which is pretty small for a Babymetal headline show in Japan. I consider myself pretty lucky to have been there.
There are some newer songs that are heavier. "Maya" and "Believing" are probably the two heaviest songs on most recent album.

That is a great reaction! I am of a very old generation, so the first drum sounds like machine gunfire from a helicopter. I've heard a lot of people describe that impression.
In the official music video footage, an umbrella comes swooping down a little after that drum. Those umbrellas look like parachute troops coming to save the world. The "Aogiri Tree" left in the twilight of Ragnarok symbolizes a bright future.

Nice reaction. This was their second performance since the covid lockdowns and their extended break. They were performing in a stately manner. Wanted it to feel big for the first concert Momoko was an official member. And during this song we get the first time Momoko is called Momometal. And Su reaches out to her getting her to join Su and Moa in center stage. A show of unity and the new era of Babymetal began at that concert. Very cool and touching. They loosened up during the tour after that. And by the end of the year their kawaii metal was in full swing. Babymetal has never released an album in back to back years. But I'm hoping this year will be different. Especially since Momometal wasn't on their last album. But was on the single they released afterwards Metal!. Now they need to release a new album with Momometal on it. As always just about April first is the day Babymetal has traditionally started announcing things for tours and albums. Yup April Fool's Day. Which in Japan is Fox Day. And amazingly both days have tricks involved. Babymetals not above releasing trick info early in the day. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises

Thanks, this is my favorite song from TOO.
BABYMETAL love contrasts, so here they matched a more pop sound with darker lyrics, though in the end, Monochrome has a positive message.
Indeed, the song is very likely about civilians caught in a war, living a present time of bombs and death, but already building a future of peace.
