- Certainly a classic amongst the fans of the series, Pac-Man World 2 is game to remember. One thing that has been discussed about it is how it seemingly had to dial back on it's ambition, with a lot planned for it that never came to fruition. of those many things, the many vistas and locals that never made the cut are of discussion in this video. The lost levels. whether they're earlier versions of levels in the final game, or level that just never made the cut in general. Though it comes obligatory to mention, some things here are speculation, based off evidence. that said, please enjoy!

This video is dedicated in loving memory of Montra.When I had started working on the script for this video, it had been a few months after she passed, so I always had the intention of paying tribute to her. She was a notable PMW2 speedrunner, and also the first person to make a breakthrough in reverse engineering the game. But more than anything, from what I've seen and know, she was a loving friend to those around her. I never got to know her, but I really wish I did. I really wish I got to know her while she was still around. I wish I could've talked to her. It really goes to show how short life is. you never know when someone will go, and you never know what they are going through. Knowing what happened, its clear she was hurting, and at some point the pain became too much. I've been there before, and I've known people that have been there before. I feel for her, and further more i can't imagine what it must've been like for anyone who was close to her.
Montra, wherever you are in heaven, I hope you are resting easy. I wish I could've known you and been your friend, but what you left behind is great, and you will be remembered. You are still loved, and you are still dearly missed

*What Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac could have*
• The silly world/graphics of the original but with an HD upscale and new things to see
• A soundtrack like in Pac-Man World Re-Pac where it sounds the same as the home console version yet like its own remix at the same time
• The story of the original but with some new things to offer, but just as long as it doesn’t feel safe and emotionless compared to the original PS1 version like in PMWRP (cool game, otherwise! And to this day, we are waiting for not only a Pac-Man movie (I plan to make my own in PMW2’s animation style with Jerry Trainor as Pac-Man which is about the University of Pac-Land that you can travel to by travelling past the other side of the Pac-Land ocean) PMWRP sequels and either a Pac-Man World 4, a new 3D-platforming PMW series, some Pac-Man RPGs, a Mario Sports-esque game (except you can play a variety of sports), a Sir Pac-A-Lot spinoff, an original side-scrolling Pac-Man game in the veins of a 2D Super Mario game, like either Super Mario Bros. Wonder or Super Mario Bros./World or all)
• Dare I say it… Don Bluth and his people being part of the production like in Pac-Man Adventures which deserved to be saved from cancellation and could be Pac-Man World 3 Re-Pac that could be more like Pac-Man World 1 & 2 for early 2000s home consoles (PlayStation 1 & 2, GameCube and Xbox)
• Tweaking certain elements of the gameplay like making world 4 (mainly Magma Opus) a lot less difficult but still challenging enough to be not too easy but still beatable and entertaining
• Put in all the cut content from the game in PMW2RP and (possibly) add in new material (remember when PMWRP felt like it didn’t need an extra world? And it was good enough that unlike the GBA version of PMW1, it could actually reuse and update all the levels, but I was thinking there could be a secret world/level in PMW2RP where Pac-Man has to flip-kick the serpent like he had to flip-kick Spooky in the final boss where this time in the remake, his yellow complexion is at its shiniest now that he’s Super Pac-Man).
• Make Chomp-Chomp (in his PMW2 design, of course! Just like everyone else in both the original game and its remake) a playable character (and possibly make all the other Pac-People with jobs like Professor Pac-Man, Sue and Pac-Ranger playable as well because they deserve justice/more screen time since their designs and personalities are just so charming/cute).
• A trailer for Pac-Man and the University of Pac-Land (either that or it could be for either PMW3RP or PMW4 if they come out for Pac-Man’s 50th anniversary in 2030)
• Use the shrinking power-up more often than just a couple brief times
• Reprise Terence McGovern (who was Launchpad McQuack in the original DuckTales/Darkwing Duck, blasts from the past) as Professor Pac-Man.
*Let me know if you want me to tell you more about what we want from PMW3RP. Because who knows? It might just be an original game altogether. It might even be Pac-Man World 4 (or Pac-Man WonderWorld! Or even better! Pac-Man Adventures! Or Pac-Man Universe!)
I love seeing new things about this game even all this time later. RIP Montra.
There’s so much more to this game than I previously thought. I’ve imagined how I’d not only remake, but outright expand upon, all 3 games in the trilogy, but nearly everything in this video is new to me and now requires me to revamp my ideas for 2 even if they are just a fantasy.

Wait, is that why Night Crawling has that empty looking "dance floor," as I always called it?
To think Spooky was gonna have a castle...man. The final act does feel just a bit rushed in that regard. Like that level is just kinda there, and obviously you don't fight Wormwood outside of the GBA version.
Thanks for this great video and your tributes to MontraTV at both the intro and outro. She was an amazing person many were happy knowing. I just wish I could've known her more as we only knew each other for a month. Rest in peace Lauren Pizzolo hope you're resting well the pac community misses you greatly.

I'm imagining that for Frog Pond, maybe the reason the frogs and mushrooms are so giant, is that maybe pac-man was supposed to be shrunk down using the pellet and do the whole level the size of a lil bug.

More proof that there was going to be an under water base level, is that fact that in pac village when climbing on the house with a blue roof (assumably professor pac's house) if you walk on the giant telescope sticking out the top, it will make the same noise that the water maze levels do when pac man runs around in them
This video explaining cut content from PMW2 is amazing! I hope to see at least one of these contents in the remake! If not, then there should be a whole new Pac-Man game with the content.

honestly i didn't know world 2 had a troubled development (the game looks pretty polished at least to me)

Not all that surprising when you consider World 1 also went through serious development hell. What gave it away for me as a child playing it for the first time was how short it was in comparison to other ps2 games I had.

15:28 more shrink pellets were meant to appear in Butane Pain where you go through a small hole to get to the inside part of a tree, Magma opus where you would use it to go through a small hole to get to an optional room containing the maze for the level, and Night Crawling where you use it to again, get to an optional room containing a bonus maze
This is completely false.
Long stretch, but if Namco decides to do a Re-Pac of World 2, then they should use some of the beta and unused ideas they had in store for the game. It would make sense to improve and maybe add on to the already present story and setting.
If Namco plans a World 2 repac I hope they use the beta content as unlockable content after finishing the game
This is my first time seeing anything about the pond or the E3 '01 demo. As for PacAtraz...wouldn't it be crazy if World 2 was intended to be the dark/edgy take on the franchise before World 3 attempted to do it? With a proposed hub world like that, it makes you wonder.

Brawl features assets from Kirby GCN in it, such as some of the kirby enemies and copy ability as trophies. Considering Kirby GCN was to have the halberd, it's asafe to assume it the models for it were reused in Brawl
