🔴🔴🔴 2021 REPAIR WHITEPAPER: tinyurl.com/58b2px54 🔴🔴🔴 This is what I was referring to in the video, for anyone interested.
There is that famous Thomas Sowell line where he said that when he was a young intern, he ran something all the way up the chain of command of government, and as a 90-year-old man, he says, _"to this day, I patiently await their reply."_
I understand how he feels. Three years in, never got so much as an _"aye thanks bro"_
When I say I tried and failed on right to repair..... I really tried.... 😢
Ah well.
Not in govt. but as a random internet person in the electronic void who is such a fan of what you try to do:
aye. thanks bro. 🤜
Then do not stop trying, because THEY (the corpses) are not going to
I'm so happy that people are giving you large sums of money to help you fight the good fight! I had 5 million bucks earmarked for you if I won Power Ball last night. I didn't even get one number which is why I only get 1 quick pick about every 6 months. Oh Well, it's the thought that counts. Right? 😊 LOL... Great work, my friend, and thank you, Louis. There aren't a lot of people like you. Please stroke your wonderful feline for me.
They're afraid of Jon Stewart's ideas being spread especially among their user base. They started the show because he's popular.
If only people like Thomas Sowell had the influence and popularity of Stewart. People say Colbert sold out. Consider that JS has been an executive producer and consultant for Colbert's show from the start. He helped make that show what it is today. JS is duplicitous and untrustworthy. An actor businessman posing as a ''not news'' comedian.
Apple concluded the season by identifying itself as the problem with Jon Stewart.
Or Jon Stewart's problem, at least.
Ths retort is so fucing Jon.S it needs copywriting. And emojis!
shameless clickbait you could've at least have a kitty in the video
Its not clickbait, what are you on about
For those who can't read a room. This is what is called a goof.

They didn’t anticipate that someone as successful as Jon could value his principles more than money. It literally didn’t compute with them.
that doesn't sound anything like Jon Stewart, though.
@spiderjerusalem6887
Really? Tell us what Jon is all about..lol
I'm guessing it's gonna very ignorant right-wing BS, but let's hear it.
Liebowitz? Principles?
You must be joking.
Yeah, I actually lost respect with Jon during this series. His interview with Gary Gensler and the joint interview with Rice and Clinton was absolutely shameful. He totally lost my respect as he shilled the system on behalf of Apple. Maybe he got fed up and the Khan interview was him just going all in again as his "partnership" with Apple was coming to an end?
@@michaelm4597”ignorant right-wing bs”. Mr super bias. Get out of your ideological bubble. It’ll open up your world.
Why would Apple contract Jon Stewart?
Buy his silence through editorial control.
This is the answer.👆
Absolutely. Why do you think billionaires buy media outlets 🤣 controlling the narrative. Not because they think they're good business ventures
No one cares about Stewart’s opinion on Apple. The reason they want him is the late night hosts are all clowns with no respect and they need to stop Orange Man. Stewart still has respect unlike Colbert and Kimmel and his ilk.
Yeah, no. I'm sure Apple was thinking that, but while Stewart has his issues, he's no Colbert.
@@mogalixir Bro what kinda weird corporate simp shit is this? Noone cares about you loony bs because you don't understand facts or how to critically think.
"Everyone and everything else is the problem, that must be the answer, it can't be meee!" Bro, you are literally Apple, trapped in a bubble of ignorance. 🤣
Apple is so worried about "the safety of the device" when they hope that in only one year after you buy the device you'll buy another one. 🙄
Fuck Apple. They care about the safety of their profits.
Nailed it!
they virtue signal so much about protecting the environment, yet they pull scams like this
I was forced to get a new phone after Apple flooded my poor IPhone 11 with weekly updates that were 400 MB each. But I didn't get a new IPhone, I have spent the past couple of weeks learning how to use an Android phone.
Back then: Our Genius Bar folks can fix it.
Now: please buy Apple Care 🥺
From inside their bubble, they(Apple) sees themselves as the good guys and they liked Jon Stewart. They couldn’t imagine that he wouldn’t be on their side on everything.
Apple are sociopaths.
This is a pretty standard left wing mode of thought, apologies to actual liberals out there.
Remember, tolerating something in their eyes is the same as enabling it. Therefore when someone publicly says something not in keeping with present day doctrine. They are actually being evil.
Apple didn't want Jon talking about China either, because it might affect their sales revenue over there.
all of this will crumble when China attacks Taiwan Apple Nvidia they will all go bankrupt immediately as 99% of their products come from taiwan
Hey Louis, I've been fired from quite a few jobs for saying the things that needed saying to the people who needed to hear it.
I very much admire your bravery. I am glad to not feel so alone in this world. Thank You.
This absolutely sounds like your aggressive aunt or cousin on Facebook that thinks she's honest, but she's just a jerk. 😅

It would have been better for Apple’s public image is they would have been magnanimous and allowed him to criticize them on his show.
That would have been better if they had decent practices and only made a mistake or two, they know they are evil to the core and nay exposure will end up in disaster.
Do I have a lower opinion of HBO because they get criticized on Last Week Tonight? Hell no, I have a much Better opinion due to that

When it comes to phones, I always thought that it was stupid that I shouldnt try to take the battery out myself anymore. Every other phone Ive owned over the last couple decades was perfectly fine to work on myself. Now all of a sudden if I do that the phone/battery might EXPLODE lol I just have to ask them "what are you people doing to the phones that they are basically incendiary devices now?" Sounds to me like every single one of these phones should be recalled and fixed. Ya know, for public safety.
@SvendleBerries They replaced plastic with tin foil, and also tweaked the battery chemistry. Means apple can guarantee they're safety as long as the phone cover is in place, or if the battery is handled correctly, but not if they're poorly handled outside of it.
And yes, it's all part if their dumb quest for thinness. But that's why.

Reminds me of when Bill Maher's show was canceled for being politically incorrect. The show was called Politically Incorrect. You can't make that stuff up.
The problem is that some people's definition of "politically incorrect" is "I want to be a bigot" and what it should be is stuff like "the hijab is a symbol of oppression, not a symbol of inclusion" or "maybe we shouldn't let Isreal genocide the Palestinians".

We live in a dystopia already. After decades of dystopian governments through the 1800s and 1900s, the powers that be tried and failed, they came to realize they could get their way through making the world convenient for the broad population. "You will own nothing and be happy" is an ideal based on convenience culture, where people can choose the path of least resistance and give up their rights in the process.
The people that have wormed their way into positions of power in this world are purely evil. Sociopaths, all of them, and the vast majority of people are too ignorant to notice or care.
It appears financial institutions can decide whether or not to do business with you based on your ideology. This is scary. Banking should be ideologically agnostic. Allowing our financial system to control ideology -- hell, that's just as insideous as removing the first amendment. I hat to call for more regulation, but the Fed needs to put a stop to that. Banking's job is to manage the money supply, not my thoughts.
Its actually scary how much control apple thinks they deserve.
It's either them or the government, which is also beholden to lobbyists instead of the people. Why do you think the whole 'right to repair' thing is still an issue across several branches of industry.
@@theodoreganymede2095 I don't imagine Louis would find much disagreement with you on that account. Most importantly, considering that FAANG-like companies generally pick and choose who they boot out on the behalf of state actors, they're essentially both the same thing.

And the show is now running past season 10 now. LOL
AT&T is no doubt the coolest among his business daddies. WBD might not keep his show around for long.
Not comparable.
AT&T is a monopoly. You can complain about them but for a lot of people it's them or nothing.
Their brand is being bad internet provider, but being there.
If anything cracking jokes about AT&T makes them seem more relatable and friendly. "Their services suck, everyone knows it, it's a simple fact of life and there is nothing to do"
@joz534 nice try Mr Ver I. Zon, but ever since Starlink and other satellite providers launched, you can't claim a monopoly on any town in America.
The thing is, AT&T not only took the hit from John Oliver, but they also bankrolled his expensive lawsuits and giveaways over the years.
Can WBD do that? Probably. Will they? IDK.
Or maybe you are a Tim Apple fan, in which case get a life.

After hearing he didn’t talk to Lina Khan it cemented my commitment to remove Apple from my life over the next 2 years. I’m just one small customer, I don’t matter. I spend about 1200/yr in Apple products. But I’m done. Maybe if enough folks do the same, Apple will start to realize we matter and to stop this nonsense of pushing on the little person.
Had they ignored it I’d had a renewed respect for Apple. Now I don’t!
How very petty of apple. They act as if they are suffering.
They're known to blacklist people for saying any little bit of truth about them that puts them in a bad light. That's why you only hear good things about them and in the beginning anyone online that said anything about it would get attacked by Apple people. Thankfully nowadays people have woken up and have been pointing out all the stuff that they've done to the point where even the government recognized their Anti-Market/Anti-Consumer practices need to start to be curbed as they grab more and more market share.

Whenever something becomes a platform, and especially if that platform is the dominant platform or a monopoly, it should be treated like an utility and regulated to prevent abuse and anti monopoly practices.
*Lotsa should be...*
" _if that platform is the dominant platform or a monopoly, it should be treated like an utility_ " -- Not necessarily; sometimes a better solution is to *break up* those big companies via antitrust action, as was done to the Bell System several decades ago, and like what Epic Games' end goal might have been with their lawsuits against Apple and Google.
Too many present-day communications utilities are too monetized / advertising-infested, too reliant on recommendation-algorithms, and unreliable due to opaque/unpredictable spam-filtering systems. For people (such as myself) who've been using the Internet since the mid-1990s, it really feels like the profit motive has ruined the Internet's overall user experience, and there ought to be some way to bring back the older & better way of doing things (e.g. plain old email, Majordomo mailing lists, etc).
I happened to see Stewart's interview with the FTC chair just the other day. She is brilliant!
The interview Jon Stewart did with Lina Khan on his new show just filled me with awe for that woman. She is absolutely the right person for the job she is having and I am not sure you could wish for anybody better to be in that position.
They probably expected to be able to keep him on a short leash, because they're the one signing his checks.
That was very short-sighted on their part.

Jon Stewart is a breath of fresh air, and someone we need to see more of and not less of. Apple can go %^&* themselves. There's no Apple devices in my house, and there never will be. Let's hope that the EU continues to tear Apple some new ones!
The reason I found for the cancellation was, according to Variety and the New York Times, "The New York Times reported that the duo had disagreements over topics that were to be covered in the third season, including A.I. and China. Members of the U.S. House of Representatives later questioned Apple CEO Tim Cook about whether the tech giant’s decision to cancel Stewart’s show was because the host may have been planning an upcoming episode about China."
That's even worse, IMO, than the reason you also cite.
You have to understand these companies don't like capitalism. The very idea of competing is not something they EVER want to do. They want to be lords and they divide up the market between them and then we just have to accept whatever they want. Listen to some of the billionaires that fund startups, they ONLY fund ones with plans to be monopolies. These companies also don't like democracy, it is inconvenient to them.
I think we need a HUGE wave of trust breaking and break these companies down small enough that they actually have to compete on making a better product.
Capitalism does suck though
Capitalism is being gamed by the billionares. They create legal pseudo monoplies and takes all the business. That ain't right but it is their way...
@@JaneNayes Capitalism only sucks to people with no idea about economics... or history.
No, you’re totally wrong. These companies embrace capitalism to its highest potential. You’d really need to read some books, in the last 200 years this topic has been discussed a lot of times.
I agree, more competition is needed, the biggest problem is in very specific industries, where the industry itself leans toward a monopoly or just a few companies, like isp with infrastructure cost or streaming services with the cost of multiple of them, imo , for these industries, we can still incentivize competition but proper regulation will be needed, maybe things similar to making company share infrastructure or preventing exclusive content, more thought will have to be put into it but you get the general idea
I accidentally watched this on UA-cam and they are showing two slippage ads now!! Thank God for greyjay
Awesome! Thanks for speaking truth to power.
Apple wanted to be the company that gives Jon Stewart a platform but didn't want Jon Stewart to actually be Jon Stewart. They like to pretend to be the type of people that watch Stewart because that's whats cool.
Apple hired him for a very simple reason, "keep your friends close but your enemies closer". It is obvious that they tried to shut him up on specific topics. If you want to control someone first become their main (only) source of income and most people will fear unemployment enough to self censor what they say and do as to "not rock the boat". Keeping independent is a full time job on top of what you do to earn money, and it will often cost a lot of that money to do. Perhaps you could ask her to be on your channel if you think she would be interested.
Didn't Viacom run UA-cam at one time, like in 2007? Yeah, I wouldn't want to step into UA-cam with them in power. They be deleting channels within 48 hours after I favorite a video every day.
I'm not 100% sure on this, so take with a grain of salt, but I think the entire Content ID and copyright strike system exists on UA-cam because of Viacom.

Here's a relevant quote about the importance of a free press in a free society:
“The moment we no longer have a free press, anything can happen. What makes it possible for a totalitarian or any other dictatorship to rule is that the people are not informed; how can you have an opinion if you are not informed? If everybody lies to you, the consequence is not that you believe lies, but rather that nobody believes anything any longer. This is because lies, by their very nature, have to be changed, and a lying government has constantly to rewrite its own history. On the receiving end you receive not only one lie - but you get a great number of lies, depending on how the political wind blows. And a people who can no longer believe anything cannot make up its mind. It is deprived not only of its ability to act but also of its ability to think and to judge. And with such a people you can do as you please.”
- Hannah Arendt
It was a gamble- If he went the Stephen Colbert route, they’d have 1 less critical voice. They miscalculated & cut their loss immediately.
It's kind of disturbing how much Stephen Colbert has turned into a corporate sock puppet ... I fuckin despise Trump, but ever since COVID Colbert has been unwavering in his recital with the Democrat party line.
Agree with the hot take on Colbert. Back then, it was interesting to listen to his interaction with the guests. Now, every episode is the same.
Talk about something else ffs
@@1centimetre I was over it when he had John on his show & they got into an argument because John called COVID out as engineered (as the CIA eventually confirmed), but Stephen doubled down on the official "a bat flew into a chupacabra's vagina & then a lady ate the bat" policy.
@holdenhodgdon3756 it's also strange that LSSC's former producer Chris Licht quit the show to run CNN. Like literally run it to the ground.
@@holdenhodgdon3756 If you "despise" trump, perhaps you'll be aware that a lot of others do too, and know the risk he poses to America and the ideal of Democracy itself. You might as well have stage-four cancer, yet complain that all your doctors want to do is talk about it...

They wanted to control him and thought if they were paying him they would have that control.
First! I mean, you will own nothing and be happy.
Not the flex you think it is.
The words 'you will be happy' have recently been updated to 'you will be sent to the Ukraine front lines'. Sorry, there is no way to opt out.
@William_Van_Landingham_III
You mean I'm opted in automatically!? That sucks. I should only be opted in by choice!
Apple knew who he was, they paid for him to do a show on Apple TV because they knew fewer people would be watching him.
They nerfed his output by sticking him on a streaming service that fewer people can see.
Were fewer*
In fairness, even people in Apple's ecosystem don't buy Apple TV+ subscriptions.
I'm unsure what that app's purpose has been since launch.
@@Code7Unltdthe Ted lasso and severance app. But now one is gone and the other just started season 2 recording.
That's complete bs. He didn't have a show for years before he took on the Apple gig. He was retired. Apple made it so he went from an audience of 0 to how ever many people watched him on Apple TV.
@@tonTeufel JS never really retired. He became a failed film director and very successful executive producer and consultant for Colbert Late Night Show. He helped make that show what it is today.
Thanks for the work that you do!
Leave it to Louis to go hard and say it with his chest in an angry professional fashion. Love it.
Stewart's not allowed to bite the hand that feeds him.
John Oliver makes fun of HBO all the time and he doesnt get cancelled.
It's limited how far he can go though. He mentioned that it's a constant back-and-forth fight and that the only reason they might still be on air is that they keep winning awards.
They couldn't see this happening after we all watched John Oliver repeatedly take shots at HBO?
I have never owned an Apple product and I'm doing fine.
Apple didn't cancel him for him fradualently inflating the price of his penthouse in NY and avoiding taxes?
That cat thumbnail just ruined my day. 😠
Jon Stewart is not only a great leader and communicator but also recognizes and cultivates other very talented communicators. John Oliver, Stephan Colbert and many others. Jon gives well thought out opinions and provides well researched information that is presented with just the right amount of sarcasm and humor but addresses serious issues and news.
That's hilarious. Good one.
I don’t watch Apple TV and I’m not gonna pay for it… I’m happy John Stewart is back on places I can watch him. I watch it on UA-cam 😂
I love democracy...
what are the videos yt deleted that he is referring to
*Ask Louis if you dare. The list is long with channels deleted and cast into the void on a daily basis.*
Apple expect everyone to bend the knee, but Jon Stewart will never do that... and that's what so many love about him!
We are blessed to have you and ppl like you
It's funny how some people are so ignorant and attack those who try and defend the common good.
They hate jon but love the billionaire class.
Such stupidity you cant make up....
They've been told since birth that the billionaire class has made their life what it is, and that without the billionaires, they will be dead. It's kind of how America talks up that whole "freedom" thing, and ends up being one of the most oppressive countries in the history of the world.
And we have plenty of people hating on John just because they've bought into the two party system brainrot and their party says "he bad !" Even though John has literally criticized both libs and conservatives and has stood up for the likes of 9/11 workers.
The problem is that we all have a "head canon" about how The world works. We are after all pattern recognition machines.
When something doesn't fit the pattern we try to fit it in there.
Being a card carrying Jeffersonian the idea that class exists is a hard sell.
But present examples suggest I'm mistaken
I mean you can dislike both, and still think apple is on the wrong.
I could go my whole life without seeing Jon Stewart's face again and not regret a single thing.
Apple still sucks and they made a mistake, and I hope Jon can sue over breach of contract.
Apple making shows
Criticising the US government and the West: 😊
Criticising the Chinar (West Taiwan): 😠
*West Taiwan. I like the sound of that.*
thanks Lou, good one.
I cancelled Apple (plus) as soon as this happened.
Can someone please explain to me how Last Week tonight's John Oliver gets away with stuff HBO doesn't like but Jon Stewart can't?
The show gets views and views get money. Until it becomes an actual problem for them, HBO execs will gladly count their money and let Oliver say whatever the fuck he wants to about them.
Probably the contract they made as well.
Better contracts and 4x the audience.
Probably because Apple is more woke than HBO.
@@mogalixiryour culture war has nothing to do with. HBO simply doesn't have the attack surface Apple does, and therefore all the business daddy type jokes Oliver makes don't cause any real damage to HBO.
Jon Stewart was needed elsewhere as a mouthpiece for the machine.
Stewart used to roll over for this stuff his whole damn life, and now is at the end of his career and knows it.
Better late than never I guess.
