They forgot to update steam achievements for new 2 trails and on low graphics new map makes your eyes bleed for how bright it is.

So the false son is probably a construct like Aurelionite, maybe not necessarily a titan but we'll see. The Seeker is most definitely from the High Court like Artificer, I believe the enviro log from the new map references a seeker/scout from the High Court(as well as very concerning implications of Gup origins :o). Man, I love the lore for this game. So nebulous, but so fascinating.
With the trailer for the dlc, wasn’t heavily implied the false son was the aurelionite?
@ezethealconswell I had actually forgotten about the trailer, but upon rewatching the voice over implies that the False Son combines traits from Aurelionite, Providence, and Mithrix. "Her perfection, His passion, his loneliness and hatred", showing each character in succession.

@@Lesquidliestone I think her perfection actually refers to nkuhana, as she was on good and (power wise) even terms with the brothers, though it seems she died saving Providence which angered mithrix as in the brittle crown log “she should have died for me. Her gift was wasted on you”. Also in the egocentrism log “I, who looked out for you after her death”. The reason I believe this is nkuhana is that she was another god, the one of balance. From the nkuhana’s opinion log

Now, the biggest hole in this theory is that the frozen elite aspect is called other “Her biting embrace”, where the corruption one is called “Nkuhana’s retort”. Though both could refer to Nkuhana as she is a god of death and life.

My biggest takeway is that this leak is a huge disservice to Chris if his contract stipulates any royalties from OST sales.
Doesn’t he release all of the OSTs for free online anyway? I can’t imagine this meaningfully impacting his revenue/views, not a lot of people are going to go get the files from a leak like this

It's always been true that with the right tools you can extract the music and audio from any steam game. This isn't new at all.
This situation is the equivalent to how Providence teleported and blew up UES -“Safe Travels"- with tons of stuff leaking all over the world

i hope they go back and give mithrix voicelines, false son being the only voiced boss(according to the leak) despite mithrix literally talking to you would be odd

In this case. Yeah. But that is sadly not quite right. If there is any kind of digital rights management, like encryption, it is Illigal to even attempt to circumvent or break it. It is a ridiculous law.
It can't really be enforced, but it should still be noted.
So with the Seeker having the switch group, the leaker is basically mentioning that the Seeker is the only one to use a Switch statement to alternate between each material for footsteps, based off the need for footsteps it could be a bulky-style character like Loader who may have heavy footsteps.
A switch statement is basically a list of ifs but compact and much cleaner. Doing it this way makes it a lot easier to alternate between materials

I hope playable False Son might mean other playable bosses somewhere down the line. Playable Mithrix via modding is super fun, having an offical playable Mithrix would be amazing.

For us no. for the team behind it, the leak can affect morale and the job(s) of the guy(s) who left the files there.
Worst thing for me personally is the leaking of all tracks hope they keep it tight so no one uploads that stuff and strike it down before anyone can listen to it.

I hope theres gonna be new skills for existing survivors as well....
definitely one of my favorite things about ror2. The fact that I can go hunt a specific achievement, and I get this really cool reward from it, that makes it so I can change the way I play an existing survivor.
And if the new survivors don't have alternate skills I'm gonna be so disappointed.
that would be so cool or at least reworks/buffs... same thing with some items that are way too trash

@@Top_Hat_FrogKeep in mind, abilities can be reflavored pretty easily, especially if the theories about the seeker being a High Court person are true. Techno magic is very easy to work with.

Tbh I don’t think the leak is that bad overall for the community or gear box. I come from card games so leaks are somthing that can happen often but I think what happen was that the devotion update was probably originally apart of the dlc since it is that first day night map we have seen and they overlooked the audio files. And we still don’t know what the Actual gameplay is, there is still stuff to reveal on there end.

@@V2Plushi nah bru I love how gearbox is actually trying and making more content. There are so many games I don't play anymore because of how corporate greed ruined them and risk of rain isn't one of them. As a lifetime console user, the bugs are part of the experience for me and I'm ok with that.
@@V2Plushi i can assure you that this company is among 5 companies that any game they touch, get actively worse. this is not a small thing by any means at all. The game was near perfect on the PC and got worse with every update that gearbox made. not just bugs but game design too. if its prone to happening why is it happening every single new update? because its prone to happening due to it being gearbox and they have a long track record of not caring about quality what so ever in all their games. no exception.
3:40 I could be wrong, but in his audio txt file there are 2 objects called selectscreen_intro and selectscreen_idle, so i doubt he's gonna be like Heretic
About yesterday or so the pre order for the vinyl record with the soundtrack for the new dlc became available on the site black screen records. There it says "estimated shipping October 2024". This is rarely a perfect indicator, but assuming it's accurate we should be getting the dlc around that time or a little bit before that.
Glad to see Chef finally make it into ror2, one of my favorite survivors between both games! False Son always seemed plausible as a survivor to me, the skill names remind me a lot of Paladin which would be cool. Based on the verdant falls log, Seeker is a High Court member, eager to see what new details about them we'll get from their survivor log
Well it seems like the only real mystery now are map changes, the actual game-play of said leaks, possible new items, and any more possible artifacts (which I'm still trying to find the locations of the two new ones in the game).
They can’t be found in game, only through the risk of rain social media posts/trailer

I've been maining Chef from the mod for the longest time, I'm so stoked to see him in this leak!
I knew the false son would be playable, with the devs calling him sad, and with the fact that his model was shown off a lot
I play alot of gearbox games and they always do this, this led to leaks for borderlands 3 (pre-release) and dlc unlock issues

this seems rather obvious if you think about how sudden the devotion update was concieved. even if you look at the devotion update and its content, you can definetely see that it wasn't planned. they slapped in a stage that was gonna be dlc, didn't add in the artifact codes yet, and the files make it look even more like simply an unfinished build of the new dlc. and the second very spoiler character definetely wont be like heretic, because how would it work if you have two items that replace the same skill?

halcyonite is likely something similar to Aurelionite, seeing as the item you get to summon him is the halcyon seed.

@@BreejonWashington So I found that the lemurians evolve after a certain amount of time, rather than finishing tp events. and so far my lemurians are getting the item effects as well

Im not hurt about it. I was on the fence about getting the DLC already as I don't really want the item pool diluted EVEN more and since 3 of my top 3 least favorite enemies are from the last DLC. Either way I don't think a leak will impact the quality or not.
