- I recently had unprecedented access to the recording of Elvin Bishop's new album, "Can't Even Do Wrong Right" featuring a reunion with "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" lead singer Mickey Thomas. Elvin and Mickey had not recorded together for over 40 years, but their latest effort is a sure fire hit. Watch as Elvin, Mickey and guest Charlie Musselwhite lay down their tracks at Elvin's Hog Heaven Studio in Marin County.
mickey has a very pure and powerful voice. fantastic singer
Damm right Mickey Thomas!! still has them pipes 🎵🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶💕💕💕💕💕💕
God damn Mickey sounds good! One of the best ever. To this day "Jane" always amazes me
Mickey's voice is such a God given talent❤️
I love Elvin and Mickey both....but man can Mickey still sing. It's amazing he hasn't lost a bit of his voice. I will have to look for this and buy it.
Wow!! Elvin's right, there's no one can touch Mickey's singing. I'm just glad the world's finally catching on. I remember when I used to say "yeah that guy that sings "Fooled around and fell in love" is from Cairo, and no one even knew. I couldn't believe it. That one's right up there with "Fooled Around and fell in Love". Great Job Mickey! Long May You Run!!
Amen Garrette!!
I have loved Elvin Bishop y Mickey Thomas. Mickey Thomas is so underrated. Amazing his beautiful voice never changed what a humble bunch of guys. LOVE LOVE THIS SONG
I can't say it any better. I love this!

Mickey Thomas STILL has that amazing voice.
Wow, what a voice! I really love to hear Mickey sing the blues. So incredibly beautiful!
Yes, yes. Go Mickey 🌷 (love that, Fooled Around and Fell in Love). 💜🎵
Amazin!
Dang, that Mickey Thomas sure can carve into a song! And what a great song by Elvin Bishop! And OMG Charlie Musselwhite!!!! Great video.
Elvin PLEASE come back to Tulsa soon !!! I want to see you live more than anyone. You are absolutely amazing! My mom used to clean Elvins' mother's house on the weekends and dad went to Bell Jr. High and Rogers High school with Elvin. Can't believe I used to sing "Slick Titty Boom" when I was just 7 yrs. old! LMAO
Mickey is a real unique talent... when he sings a song - he owns it. Elvin writes some great songs... glad to see the fire is still burning!
Thank you so much for this look inside. Iconic talents here. Even Charlie Musselwhite! Damn right.
Eight years ago and Mickey was still sounding good!
Mickey may sing better today than when he was a younger dude. Elvin plays rhe guitar like nobody's business. Great song!
I can not come up with words to express the total awesomeness of that song!
Mickey has a voice from Heaven. Every note from his lips is a soft smooth stroke down my back. He makes love with his voice. Elvin's guitar playing is better than Eric's. That was a beautiful, soulful song. Glad I woke up in the middle of the night and listened to Elvin's group with young Mickey then older Mickey sing "Fooled Around" and stumbled on to this masterpiece! Thanks gentlemen. I needed this! It made my night!
Yes yes yes what you say
the word Classic comes to mind (in the west coast context) I hear both "aint nobody's business"..and "last mile"... Elvin...thank you so much for all the musical pleasure and joy you have given so many ..as the years go passing by (you represent a "doorway into the blues" for me )...its so nice to see and hear that ol red 345 ...and as for Mickey Thomas...also so lovely to hear your voice again...a gift for us all....thanks for posting
Hes still so beautiful after all of these years.
I've always loved brother Elvin since back in the Paul Butterfield days in mid 60s
People got to remember Mickey was born down in Georgia. So he got that sort of Southern Roots and Church in his soul
You guys are the best! Thanks!
I love Elvin Bishop! He’s had so much tragedy in his life yet his songs always make you feel good.
I first saw him as part of the Paul Butterfield Blues band in 1970. I had no idea who he was at that time, but I began to appreciate his contribution to the band on the album “Resurrection of Pigboy Crabshaw”. By the time I heard “Drunk Again” on the “In my own dream” album I was a full blown fan! I saw him next at a small club in Huntington Beach, the Golden Bear, with his wife at the time Jo Baker. They were amazing. Since then I’ve seen him a dozen times over the past 50 years. I last saw him about 7-8 years ago, so I’m overdue. Now we just need Covid to go away.
Saw Elvin Bishop at a commune in Arkansas back in the early 70's.
Elvin has been one of my favourites since the Butterfield Blues band and Rock my Soul days. I was lucky enough to see him on a night when there was a -30C snowstorm and they were letting whoever was motivated enough to get there, in for free. We're a hardy breed in Northern Alberta so the club was full. It was about '87. Elvin was walking across the furniture and kissing' girls. Singing and playin' like crazy. I left there thinking this guy is the best entertainer I had ever seen.
I said it once before I say it again best damn vocalist ever
Outstanding!
Most excellent blues !!
great music from the masters 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I remember Mickey from the 1960s and I can still remember him singing Stormy Monday! He’s a great blues singer!
WOW!!!!! SO WONDERFUL!❤❤🌹🌹
Thank you world.
You still have that nice voice my friend ✌️
Yessah! Welcome home Mickey!c You two have the MoJo!!! Stay safe, Stay well! ESJ XXXOOO
These videos are like therapy on me during these times...What a wonderful thing to see these two guys working together again...this video and the music here is just awesome. This one is saved on my "Elvin" list that I created here...
Unbelievable, Mickey Thomas maintains that amazing unique special singing voice. Wow. Love them both: Elvin and Mickey. Awesomeness!
This video is so unreal awesome. Mickey and Elvin and even Charlie Musselwhite. I had no idea that these guys actually go way back. I first heard about Charlie Musselwhite by way of the Sundat Night Blues Show on 92.3 KGON, Portland, Oregon's home of rock and roll. I'm talking in the ballpark of 1995-1998. And Charlie Musselwhite from Chicago's south side. Hell, Charlie even mentioned the clubs where he played, back in the day. Thanks a million for this video.
Mickey has pure talent.
That A’nT nothing but FRIGgING bEAUTiFuL 😻
Looking so fwd to Starship the 23rd of July 2022 at the Blue Gate in Shipshewana Indiana.
You rock it Mickey !!!
First take perfect. Keep it!
they sound awesome.
Mickey Thomas/Steve Perry….
The finest of vocals…
Great Stuff!
Mickey is a legit rock legend.
Very nice !!!
Amazing, absolutely amazing voice, that's a real artist that can sing like that for over 40 years and if possible get even better. All these wannabe's today won't even be remembered a year later let alone 40 years later.
Incredibly beautiful! ❤️
That voice gotta the best in the industry! He's got a smooth, edgy soulful voice & style & range!❤🎼🎶🎶🎙😎👊,*& that song kicks ass.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎊
you listen and fall in love...
Legends……
I mean really? Come on if this don't give you chicken skin your not alive. Awesome job
Wow!
Wow
Its fun to look at Elvin's guitar over the years in videos, watch it age.
You're right about that take a look at back in the Paul Butterfield blues band days in the mid-60s
Such a good song
Yes!
♥♥♥
Got to LOVE ALL that NEW MIXER "equipment". (But the "message" gets OUT!).
I swear Mickey Thomas has sold his soul to the devil. He still sings Starship songs in original keys...
Can anyone tell me, was Charlie Musselwhite at all influenced by Muddy Waters? I ask because On a cd I have of Big Daddy Kinsey, Big Daddy himself relates how he was greatly influenced by Muddy Waters and how Muddy had started out playing the blues in the Mississippi Delta, and later brought the tradition to Chicago.
Elvin Bishop sittin' on a bail of hay.
He ain't good looking, but he sure can play.
LoL.. One night you might have chicken and the next night, nothing but feathers. 😉 Stormy Weather, be prepared. 🍃
you mean when you were waiting on that starship
Mickey....ooops..lol
He looks different without the porn stache🤣🤣
Delbert could sing this song too!
