You explain very well, David! I watch a lot of videos on wood work and yours is by far as close to the process as possible and a great for beginners. Thank you!

This exactly what i use to do little projects just a saw, hammer and some nails but no clamps i just cut everything on a small bench i made. Greetings all the way from Mexico!!
A very happy new year to you David. Another great video. I have made a couple of these and they are great fun to make, even got one sat outside my front door to sit and have a coffee on in the mornings during the summer.
Hi Trevor Happy New Year to you too !!! My house also is infested with stools of all shapes and sizes!!! All of them are in constant use!! Nothing like a good stool in the morning with your coffee! LOL!!!
Thanks for being awesome David, love watching your videos. I just spent an enjoyable afternoon cutting out the pieces as you described. What's the approximate width of that board you used? Wondering if I should have used the 10" pine instead of the 8. Cheers!
Hi Joshua I believe i used a 19cm board close to 8” which is good for a small stool but you can scale it up to a full size bench and it will be strong Good luck with your project Happy Woodworking David
Hi Jason yes chipboard isn’t very good with nails if you have some way to drill small pilot holes it will help Let me know if I can be of any further assistance Take care David ps use the thinnest nails you have to help prevent splitting you can cut off nails head and use it as a small drill to make pilot hole
Jason Burton Hi screws would be preferable if you can make pilot holes first, if your screw diameter is 4 mm drill 4mm in “top”piece and drill2.5 mm in “mating” piece , countersink “ top “piece so the screw head is flush you can ose the tip of a 10mm bit as a countersink
Great advice David, no split wood 👍the only thing now, one of the legs is slightly angled in 🤣🙈 I guess I'll have to make a couple of stretchers to go along the bottom??
Hi yogesh possibly your saw is old and the teeth need resetting that’s to say they are not wider than the saw plate and the plate gets stuck or possibly you’re not keeping the saw straight in the cut try just moving the saw back and forth in a straight line without applying downward pressure plywood isn’t the easiest to cut with a hand saw due to the grain running in two different directions try using a finer tooth saw ,ua-cam.com/video/fWK643fAn6o/v-deo.html maybe this will help good luck let me know how you get on David
Hi Andrew i used a 20mm chisel to remove excess material and square things up if you don’t have a sharp chisel you can use a file,a rasp or some sand paper on a block of wood Good luck Happy Woodworking David
This video is literally helpful for beginners with no advance tools on hand.Thank you so much for this.

Thanks for the excellent tutorial David, I've cut all the parts out, only I've used chipwood?? Will this split when I put the nails in?
