The G6 can park in really tight spots (tested), so tight that you can't get out. However, you can exit the car first and then let it park using the phone app. And when you want to get in, the app lets you pull the car forward so the doors have clearance to open. We played that yesterday in Zhuhai China. Lovely car, I'm getting one.
Does it work in other countries too? Everybody knows the current Tesla autopilot is castrated in the EU and some chinese brands have issues with any kind of autonomous functions once they no longer get any Baidu cloud service coverage etc. I drove the Nio et7 in germany once and it was disgraceful for its price range. But allegedly it is quite nice in china, hence my question. Overall the G6 is a really competitive car and I am curious to see what impact it will have.

Yes and also how is it suppose to know which way it should turn pulling out. Many parking lots has a one way system especially in tight car parks. The pulling out half way is fine.

You Norwegians are spoiled by your big parking slots, and don't understand the pain of 2 big cars parking right beside you and not able to open your door. Having the car "pull out" automatically is a godsend.
In the UK, you do not indicate during reverse manoeuvres as the Reverse Light is the indication that you are performing a manoeuvre. I assume that this is the case in China too maybe? Is that not the case in Norway? Also, as someone else said, the Pull Out is just far enough that if there were cars next to you, you could turn fully, and not hit them no matter the direction you choose. Overall, very good Auto-parking, seems Xpeng have this almost perfect.
I would not yet say „perfect“, but they are obviously quite capable. I hope they have a policy to continually improve their software and regularly provide free updates to their customers - like Tesla. 😁

I think the G6 shows just how far Chinese vehicles have come and how the future will be. I do like Tesla too but after owning a 2023 MY RWD, I disliked the comfort suspension. I'm also not keen on the Tesla idea of not having indicator stalks any longer, so waiting for the new Juniper version won't interest me. Anyway, keep up the great work mate.

Based on other cars you've done parking assist with this one gets an 8. The pull out could be better. I assume the pull out may work from the key fob perhaps. Maybe it pulls out enough to clear to doors to enter the car. At any rate, it did an outstanding job. I'd give it at least an 8 rating.

The pull-out-mode is surely for safety reasons because of the drivers lack of visibility in the moment he/she wants to pull out on to the drivelane between higher obstacles. e.g. out of the parkinglot across a sidewalk, bicyclelane or directly on the drivelane, so you dont crash or run someone over until you have clear vision again.
It is not better per default, if the other car is parked slanted and you are parked like the other car doesn’t exist, you won’t be able to exit your car in many instances. That’s why many cars get scratched whilst opening the doors
Pull out is to clear of the cars on a side before the turn. But honestly by the time your shoulders pass the front of a car you are in the clear. All those features are just lowering people driving standards and these are already poor.
You can't get out of the parking space if the car next to you is parked so close that you can't get in! Therefore is the 1m pull out the perfect solution....

I love the look on the car and all that it features. But what realy scare me is the electric doorlatches. i would never rely 100% on a button to get me out of the car. I still havent seen any emergency door opening option on this car. What do you do if the car is dead on the road. or if you get in an accident and the buttons dont work? I wouldnt be worried if there is a easy to access emergency mechanical doorlatch from the inside.
i Tried to look for it when they had it in the showroom in my town, i am probably blind since i couldnt see it. When i asked the Sales representative for xpeng he didnt have a clue if there is such a mechanical doorlatch.
My Ioniq 6 can select empty spaces without other cars nearby also does a really god job of centering in the parking spot. Can also do full parking using yhe key outside of the car.

Since yesterday Tesla is rolling out ASS to all Teslas. First videos are out and it’s really magical what it performs. But can’t really believe that it is coming to Europe too before I see it,but Tesla said it’s a world wide roll out 😅

The pullout is for letting the wifey enter the sidedoor, normally no space to open doors when inside parking lot.

Tesla has improved auto park considerably a few weeks ago in Europe, but you need EAP or FSD. It is also parking a bit faster than before.

AR is overrated. The way Tesla displays it is the way to go. They show more details, especially with the FSD supervised (12.5)

There is a mechanical door opening further down in the back of the door storage space
If you check page 312 of the manual on emergency opening, you can see that there is an emergency manual latch on the inside.
