*Why do Polish people hate Russians more than any other nation in Europe or probably in the World? I am a Pakistani, I live in America, and Polish and some Romanian people told me that Russians are assholes, but because Russians are usually nice with people of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Siri Lanka, Egypt, and Morocco, therefore, it is hard for me to believe that Russians are assholes towards Polish, Romanian, Chechan, Tatar, Ukrainian, Czech, etc.*
It’s not hate. It’s not phobia. Last 2 years many popular politicians and journalists in Russia threatened that they will drop atomic bombs on polish people. And that politicians have support from their citizens. How in that situation Russia is to be perceived positively?
Two Russians living in Warsaw. Never hiding our nationality. Met exclusively great people, Poles, Ukrainians, and Belorussians. Never had any issues because of our ethnicity ationality with people, more of that, people usually are supportive and compassionate when they hear where we are from, as they understand difference between crazy regime and regular people, who also suffer from it. What we are doing wrong if we are not feeling like living in "Most Russophobic country"?
Better ask what you are doing right. It is, you probably do not demonstrate infamous Russian chauvinism. Unfortunately most Russians do this though and that’s why they are not loved there.
How do you feel when regular people on the Moscow TV or in any street interview (YT) are fully supporting the war and Putin. Then they obey orders and go to the army. Do you think anyone still thinks they are ok?
@@zigzag5746 I feel as bad about that as probably any sane person. Unfortunately, this is how totalitarian fascist regimes works, with propaganda, fear and collective insanity.
Simple. If you call the Russian government crazy of course they’ll love you. Tell them you like Putin and that he’s done a great job pulling Russia out the terrible 90’s and we’ll see how friendly they are towards you….the answer is in your comment isn’t it.
most rusophobic? i guess you havent been to Georgia, Estonia or Lithuania.. or Finland.. not to mention Ukraine. Every of your neighbours hates you, and i assume there must be a very serious reason for that. Maybe they just know their nations history very well...
@grzegorzbrzeczyszczykiewic1139 That's understandable; don't forget that Russia split Poland with nazi Germany... and after WW2 Russia ruled Poland with an iron fist.
That's not understandable because Poland is not at var. It's understandable in Russia and Ukraine because they are at var. In Estonia, there's a prison sentence for supporting Russia publically. Estonia is not at var either! It's simply a limitation of liberties and the people are going along with it.

Pierogi ruskie don't have anything to do with Russia, actually. The translation would be ruthenian pierogi. Ruthenia is a historical region in South-Eastern Poland and Ukraine, I believe.
Yes, I learned that. I believe the same people we call "Gutsul". They speak a language closer to Russian than even Ukrainian (or Slovak). At least I can understand them better. Svetlana, you have not contemplated why Poles are a bit sceptical Russians? 1) Russia's involvement in Poland's three partitions, which led to Poland's non-existence for 123 yrs. 2) The Sovjet-Polish war 1919-21 3) The attack on Poland 1939 4) The Katyn massacre 5) The opression after the war 1945-1991
Europe as a whole for centuries has been like spiders in a bottle. This makes the fascinating history of those Spaniards, Napoleon (Bernadotte-Sweden), England, Austro-Hungary, and all the rest. On your television they will also not say why the Yankees are such scoundrels, that they are now, through their puppet rulers in the European Union, completely ruining the industrial base in Europe and moving production to the USA forcibly. They are also pushing Europeans to go to war with the Russians, just as they once sponsored Hitler! Their debt obligations are growing by trillions of $$$ every year and in order to have a reason to write them off, Biden and his bankers need a BIG war in Europe. But what about ("whatabout") 1604? There is nothing easier than to pull out a "whatabout" on this topic. Instead, a much more direct question. The best strategy to keep and lick all the wounds is to ban all the travel. So people can stay at home, communicate only electronically and call each other names. So "whatabout" these illegal Schengen-visa limitations, illegal confiscations of cars with Russian license plates? And who was the strongest opponent of this? Why it never was made public? There is a good reason why the Polish people may not necessarily like Russia. The times under Russian influence were absolutely terrible and right after WW2 the Russian soldiers committed so many atrocities not only in Poland but also in East Germany were almost all women were raped. They don't teach you that in school, do they? I would say normal and civilized Russian people are welcome in Poland. The consular agreement between USA and Russia allows that. Instead, she felt being forced to travel to a country with 400+ years of political controversy. Little poor lady knew, the things are not as tough, as in imagination. And there is no need to travel to Warszawa if same thing can be done in Belgrade. The same goes the "other" way and if you notice in the comments Polish people are split on the topic. On my side I was never treated badly in Poland and the more I travel there, the more I like. I travel there very often because in order to reach Kaliningrad I have no choice, but transit through Poland. I did not feel any sympathy of Polish people towards my license plates (USA). This is an inherent flaw in their soul, hereditary and centuries-old, due to their servitude, the Tatars, Ivan, the oprichniki, and the ancient rebellions drowned in blood. If their own freedom is unattainable, the freedom of others evokes envy and disgust. For centuries, we have been too painful an example for them, a contradiction to their own fate. There is a bigger picture as well. Maybe your reasons are justified. Maybe not. Maybe 80% of "us" (now wearing my Russian hat, not the American and not the Hungarian) do support what you say (I am carefully avoiding the word "war", notice that!). Or maybe not. It is not that hard to figure out, one way or the other: more communication! Besides, with more communication you would have more chance to convince "us" that "we" are dead wrong. The opposite is also true: hell knows, maybe I convince you, that there is nothing better than Russia. I, too, need one thing to do that: meet with you. Now step back and decide for yourself: who did cut off all communication and make the travel for people as hard as possible both ways? As far as I see: the sanctions (esp. the travel sanctions) are incredibly easy to break. I travel back and forth, have no or little restrictions and observe. The poor lady who made this clip was suffering merely due her inexperience, not because it is impossible. You may remember the idiotic logic like "travel is luxury, why not prohibit Russians to travel?". Same logic was expressed multiple times by Zelensky himself and Ursula. (Do we "LOVE" them both!). She is the undersecretary of State and a known neo-con. Why did Biden chose a hawkish neo-con to be his undersecretary of State escapes me. The rest of the story (Zelensky, Ursula, cars with Russian plates, partial suspension of Schengen, etc.) is just revolving around her. Luckily she will be gone soon (thanks to elections!) and let's see, maybe sound logic will prevail. Anyway: without contacts, travel and trade on all levels people get isolated and going to be stewed in own pot. And guess what will happen on higher level: they of course still trade with Russia - on their own level, behind of curtains. See Estonia. Isn't it corruption? They can - but we can't?
What reasons? If you think that, you don't understand what is going on in Ukraine, don't know all facts behind it, and you only believe in antirussian propaganda. Of course we have difficult history with Russia and USSR (but as you may know, its authorities were not only Russians, but Ukrainians or Jews as well), but we also have difficult history with Germany, and yet, now we are in one alliance with them, and we trade with them. Sorry, but you're wrong about the barszcz. There always was barszcz and barszcz ukraiński here in Poland. Both soups are DIFFERENT. Normal barszcz (also called Polski or red one) is a soup based mostly on beet and its consistency is diluted to the point it's drinkable, while Ukrainian is something you probably know and think about your borschtsch HOWEVER it was called Ukrainian always since the ancient times here.

It sounds like you were treated very well in Poland, and that the phobia may have come from within yourself. Not to be disrespectful to you. By definition phobia is an irrational, unrealistic and persistent anxiety disorder. By that definition Poland (and other neighbours) are NOT Russophobic - because their fears and anxieties are not unrealistic or irrational - rather they are rational and realistic given the historical and current behavior of Russia towards their neighbours. Why would you be surprised that Poles don't like Russians and you don't feel welcome? Face it, rightly or wrongly, fairly or unfairly - people express their views because in their minds you represent all that is bad about Russia.
@@Robert_z_Wwy We apologized for Katyn and the invasion of Poland. In Russia, Katyn was recognized as a war crime by the Soviet Union in 2010. Ruskie pierogi means actually ruthenian. Some overzealous producers recently renamed them to ukrainian, which is idiotic. Just yesterday, while shopping, I saw these "Ukrainian" dumplings and I said: Oh, there are no Ruthenian dumplings, so thank you! Generally, I got the impression that you consider Poles to be russophobic based on official statistics, without having encountered any manifestations of hostility towards Russians. The behavior of hotel staff in Warsaw probably corresponds to the behavior of staff in Moscow hotels towards Russians from Zamkadye.
From my experience in Poland, everyone I met had normal attitudes toward Russians. I talked with a lot of people about so many things. The only European country I visited and found anti-Russian sentiments was in Hungary, many years ago. I met people there with very strong anti-Russian sentiments. They were also a little disappointed with the United States for not saving them, under Soviet domination. This is why the situation with Orban today is so counter-intuitive. I hear he was he used to be strongly anti-Russian himself and only changed in recent years after visiting Moscow and Beijing and then receiving Russian investment and gas supply. Hungarians are a unique people in Europe but their anger toward Russia stems from brutal suppression under Soviet domination. They told me that literally every Hungarian stood against them and Russia overwhelmed them with massive military force. They tell me Russia had listening posts and microphones hidden everywhere to catch and abduct Hungarians who said anything that did not like.
thats strange. i am from hungary and we all have high appreciation of russian people and culture. what you heard is probably a "fear" as a result of 1956.
As a Hungarian, I would say you are right. As other Central and Easter European nations, we had been oppressed by Russia for 45 years, so anti-Russian sentiment was exist 20-30 years ago, but it was not so strong. Orban had the sentiment change towards Russia. Because Russia is not a liberal country, it became idolized by far-rights. Hungary has become a very far-right country under Orban's regime. As a liberal Hungarian, I would say I Am not agaist Russians, I Am only agaist Putin, and his oppressive regime. I would like to see a free, and less chauvinistic Russia in the future. I think it's good to read guidebooks, historical books, and curiosities before coming to Poland as a tourist. Borscht is also a 100% Polish dish. Borscht was traditionally made from an acidified plant called "borscht", we have many types of borscht. These are often holiday soups, made from rye, wheat and plant leavens. The roots go back to the Middle Ages. Ukrainian borscht is also a Polish dish, it comes from the area of "Ukraine", which in the times of the Polish kingdom was located between Podolia and Zaporozhye. In other words, "borderland" borscht. RUSKIE pierogi is also a traditional Polish dish, but it does not mean "Russian" or "Ukrainian" but "Ruthenian" - it comes from the areas of the indigenously Polish, Lechite tribes - the so-called Czerwień or Grody Czerwieńskie - and later Red Ruthenia. They were very popular in these areas, hence their name. In addition, we have many names of countries in our traditional dishes that are not known in the countries that bear this name :) For example, Lithuanian cold soup or Hungarian pie :) The names often come from the countries from which we imported products unusual for medieval Poland, for example example, paprika from Hungary. :) And Poland is not Russophobic. Poles have repeatedly supported and even built Russia. We have many distinguished names who developed Russia. Our concerns mainly concern the old times, when Poland was occupied by totalitarian regimes. We have the same feelings towards Germany, Ukraine, Russia, Austria, Prussia and other countries that have harmed us. Regards !

Svetlana, Poland has a bad history with Russia. Their country was partitioned in 1795 by Russia, Prussia (now Germany) and Austria. Poles remained under Russian occupation until 1918. The Polish language was banned and Poles were persecuted for speaking their language.
I wonder what has happened in the Prussian (German) and Austrian parts - was that history also bad or only with Russia? How it was there with the Polish language? I know only the Russian part of being guilty but not much about the others.

I have the impression that most of the uncomfort came from expecting hostility rather than the actual experiences. Only if you admitted in conclusion that the experience was surprisingly not bad at all, despite feeling uncomfortable from just being a russian in a russophobic country, i think there would be way less negativity in the comments. Either that, or you chose to be clickbaitey and controversial on purpose, if that is the case then i have to agree with the criticism. I'm also russian, and currently living and working in Poland, have experienced almost no discrimination in 1.5 years of living here. At the same time, i do feel "uncomfortable" all the time from just being allowed to live here, simply because of the crimes my country is doing and my inability to change it. It can feel especially bad from reading some things polish politics have to say about not only russians but the immigrant ones specifically, also from reading other immigrants' experiences who were less lucky than me. Needless to say, it is nothing compared to what Ukrainians have to go through. In my conclusion, russophobia (or russorealism as some named it) does exist, but i feel that most of the time, it is on a level that ranges from understandable to deserved.
Ordinary people can always get along somehow, politicians are the ones who create hostility between people. By the way, our prettiest city is Krakow: visit Krakow next time 🙂

1) Russia's involvement in Poland's three partitions, which led to Poland's non-existence for 123 yrs.
2) The Sovjet-Polish war 1919-21
3) The attack on Poland 1939
4) The Katyn massacre
5) The opression after the war 1945-1991
Europe as a whole for centuries has been like spiders in a bottle. This makes the fascinating history of those Spaniards, Napoleon (Bernadotte-Sweden), England, Austro-Hungary, and all the rest. And Germans, of course! I wonder if it makes the participants "a bit skeptical" about one another or if it is only about Russia? A: She was under impression, having no other choice, but to go there. See, she needed a US visa for family reasons.
US suspended all visa issuance in Russia, so Russians have to travel to an other country. She did not know, she could be (much) better off to travel to Belgrade, Serbia or to Ankara (Turkiye).
Many are straight grimacing at them, sometimes even the border guards. When they learn that I am either Russian or Hungarian things improve dramatically.
So my experience with Poland: the least popular country is probably US of A. But it never goes really bad, just you feel the shoulders being turned and see the grimace. Remember: if I drive my car, the word "USA" is literally written on my forehead. Even if the things are a bit different.

You may remember the idiotic logic like "travel is luxury, why not prohibit Russians to travel?". Same logic was expressed multiple times by Zelensky himself and Ursula. (Do we "LOVE" them both!). Than the story behind the confiscation of cars. This is illegal, by the way.
If you go back you see the roots: the people around Victoria Nuland.
Things change, but polish russophobia is still cultivated.

It's been so for at least few tens of years (I'm not knowledgeable of the exact timelines here) with the formal and basic meaning of the adjective "ruski" still pertaining to all things Ruthenian (as in the Rus') though. That must've confused the restaurateur(s) but is not a mitigating factor at all.
The claim that Moscow principality aren't Russian principality is Ukranian fake. Ruskie = Russian. Otherwise they would be called Ruthenian.
Russia has also renamed their cities, St Petersburg-Petrograd-Leningrad-St Petersburg, Tsaritsyn-Stalingrad-Volgograd, etc. No I think you don't realize what Putin has done to Eastern Europe.
I am from Eastern Europe, a Moldovan from Republic of Moldova. Please enlighten me, what has Russia done to Moldova ? Liberated us from Ottoman 300 year slavery in 1800, liberated us from Nazis during WW2 and built up universities, schools, hospitals and entire cities during USSR. Why are you speaking on behalf of Eastern Europe ?
@@Goorood Same for Bulgaria. During USSR was built more than 3400 dams, 90% of thermal power plant and a nuclear powe rplant with a project for a second , starting in the mid-eighties. But he meant what Putin has done. Well, apart from providing cheap resources for the whole of Europe, which subsidy provided the economic development of Europe, i don't know anything elsе.
@@Goorood Yep, have the Russians been good for Moldova, Moldova was given by the Ottomans to Russia by the Treaty of Bucharest, 1812. In 1871 the Russians tried Russification. To be honest, Moldova was in the nasty position of being caught between Russia and Romania. You don't mention the deportations in the 1940s or the executions by the Soviets before and after German/Romanian occupation, after the Soviets finally succeeded in incorporating Moldova In 1946-1947, at least 216,000 deaths and about 350,000 cases of dystrophy were accounted by historians in the Moldavian SSR alone. In 1944-53, there were several anti-Soviet resistance groups in Moldova; however the NKVD and later MGB managed to eventually arrest, execute or deport their members. Of course everything was lovely in Moldova as the Soviets imported thousands of Russians into parts of Moldova and of course once the Soviet Empire broke up wasn't there a nasty little war where now rhere is a Russian puppet of Transnistria. Thank you for your insight but I doubt you can speak for Eastern Europe either. I have used copy and paste as my typing very slow.
@@EpizodBG Putin providing cheap resources, no they were supplied at market prices. You fail to mention that he invaded Ukraine and Europe has weaned itself of his "Cheap resources". As far as Bulgaria is concerned I am sure they became Independent of Russia when the Soviet Empire went down. Over the years from 1912 (The first Balkan War) Bulgaria has been sliced and diced. The Soviets did presumably build all those dams but at what cost to the population, I note that some hundreds of thousands of ethnic Turks were kicked or left in 1980s. As above when Bulgaria had the chance they rejected the Soviets and became Independent. It is now a member of the EU and NATO. I forgot the mention the various executions by the NKVD after 1944.
@@phann860 The resources that Putin provided were at a very low price. And this was very clearly seen when they stopped, Europe went into recession and Germany began to de-industrialize.
We did not "become independent" when USSR fell, our sovereignty was limited yes, but the ties with the West were never interrupted, and we determined the internal policy! Now we have Zero sovereignty, everything is decided in the american embassy, even the ruling cabinet is appointed there!
We have been sliced and diced by the Western countries!
Everything was built in the name of the people, so that we have water, that we have electricity, that we have roads, because before that we had 'almost nothing!
When the turks began to 'raise their heads' for secession of territories, the borders were open and anyone who wanted could move to Turkey. But when they saw how badly they were treated by their 'brothers in blood' many turks returned back home.
As above, we have not rejected the Soviets, in fact at the first "pro-democracy" protests, people wanted more socialism.
Now we are members of NATO and the EU, but no one askd us if we wanted it or not, there was no referendum!
I don't know what these "executions by the NKVD" are, maybe you mean the so called People's Court, which was held at the insistence of America and UK. The same courts existed in all countries occupied be Germany during WWII!
In Poland we have Polish borscht, which is a different soup from the one you know (it doesn't have pieces of vegetables floating in it and is usually with small dumplings filled with meat or served with a croquette). We simply call this soup borscht. Ukrainian borscht is not a name from the war between Russia and Ukraine, it's just how this soup has always been called in Poland. We simply live closer to Ukraine, so if you have some dishes in common, we take the name from where it's closer. And dumplings are called Ruthenian, not Russian, and they come from the name of the Red Ruthenia region, which for centuries was part of Poland. This has nothing to do with any anti-Russian attitude. Greetings to a beautiful woman!
I mean in Poland we hate Putin, Russian politics and our difficult history with Russia for last 500 years. We don't hate people alone, but sometimes it's hard to look at russians in a friendly way when Russia is attacking Ukraine, knowing we could be next
Russian blond drama queen 😅😅😅
Come here. You will see anti-Russian, anti-Ukrainian, anti-Slovak, anti-Czech, anti-Romanian, anti-German, anti-Romanian drama empresses.
Even more anti-semitic and anti-American drama empresses. All the same time. Guess the country. Oh, forgot anti-Serbian and anti-Chinese, that, too is part of the "fun". You should enjoy that place.
Czech Neo-Nzi. Go to your doom for US fashist foreign policy in Israel, instead of typing nonsense on the internet.
I am so bored abt yr problems in Poland, that I immy escaped fm this channel. Go to yr favourite country i.e RuSSia, I suggest, and stay threre for ever. RuSSia is the best place to live, for all people loving to stay in lousy place.

I’m just curious to discover why she’s always whinging.
An out of touch elite; I really don’t understand what’s the point. She complains about Poland then in the next praises them .
Wacko!!!
I’m afraid she’s Russian and right now it’s not very smart to visit with Russia threatening these countries..
What’s the go with this American fiancée never see him.
BORING AS HELL
It's really, really simple. When you visit Poland, use the Golden Rule when dealing with people, otherwise go ahead and fuck around and find out. 😂
She thinks she is gorgeous and that all men will melt in front of her.
I don't think they are russophobic but more angered by the latest actions of russia and putin.
I myself would love to get to know russia and its culture a lot more. But with Putin at the top, it'll be impossible.
Until recently - and maybe even now - visiting St. Petersburg did not require a visa for about 50+ nationalities. Impossibility is in your head.
It seems to me that a significant part of my compatriots do not display Russophobic attitudes against Russians themselves, including those who live in Poland (though of course there will always be one or another asshole nationalist or racist). But a significant number of my compatriots are also allergic to Russia as a state - authoritarian, not honoring treaties, aggressive and defiant, and at the same time remaining outside the norms of basic civilizational comforts for its citizens. So is Poland Russophobic? Yes, Russophobic towards Putin's Russia, just as it was Russophobic towards the Tsars and Bolsheviks who oppressed us.
Long live Poland ❤❤
Thanks bro and you and your country too😊🫶🏻
I love Warsaw, but of course better in the summer.

Yet another influencer sharing their "big" problems in life.
Yet another Russophobe Racist.
17:50 You "felt a little bit uncomfortable in Poland right now".
Let me share my feeling with you - I was in Moscow before the war and "I felt a little bit uncomfortable in Russia then". Maybe "right now" I would feel comfortable? What do you think?
Hi. I don't think we are rusophobic. We are just rusorealistic. My grand-grandfather was killed in Katyn. His wife died in Siberia (age 40). What can I say?
I would like to forget this terrible history, but Russia causing the war does not help. I'm happy that you're normal and friendy person. Cheers from Poland!
But how these histories are connected with people who have russian citizenship nowadays?
We just still remember because.
Congrats! Didn’t know what to expect until I watched to the end!
Regards !
Who goes back to moscow? Stay in Putin's heaven.!
Surprise Surprise. The violin strings are out in full harmony.
We are russorealitic and not russophobic
Girl what you are saying is zo empty, shallow and full of bad stereotypes ... don't be surprised people didn't want to interact with you having such an attitude 😅
Thanks for sharing! So insightful.
If a country would do the same to your country what russia did to Poland and is now doing in Ukraine you would also develop a phobia for that country, dont play your the victim here Svetlana
I should check the status of the Hawaiian language in the XX century or the Irish language in the XIX century. Just in case I should check how it was with the Polynesian language in Tahiti.
@@komandagleby_GBThe Germans admitted their guilt and appologized. In the Austrian zone Polish was the official language and the language of instruction in schools. It's only Russia that constantly tries to deny it's crimes towards us and insists we are the problem.
@@komandagleby_GB How does the situation with Hawai'ian cancel the crimes Russia has committed against us? We don't need to talk about everyone else's experience to be allowed to talk about our own.
@@komandagleby_GB You should also check the current situation of Khanty, Mansi, Altay, Evenki, Selkup, Karelian etc.
By the way, our prettiest city is Krakow: visit Krakow next time 🙂
Krakow is not prettiest for sure
Québec's national dish is literally called, "poutine." There was talk of changing the name to "Zelensky" (I'm not joking) but then people said, let him (V. Putin) change his name, not our famous dish LOL. I also think people would have had a hard time spelling it... I really enjoyed you telling of your encounters. 👍
I refuse to call "pierogi ruskie" as pierogi "ukraińskie". It's a traditional Polish dish coming from a region in first Polish republic called "województwo ruskie". It has nothing to do with Moscow's Russia.
I am often in the car line between Poland and Russia, on the "noman's land". There are usually Russians living in Europe, sometimes people from Belarus and Ukraine. After few minutes political disputes start. Names like Zelensky or Putin rarely if ever mentioned.
Instead, everyone is talking about Ursula and Orbán. There is something special about them, I guess.
- Comes into the country
- Calls it "Russophobic"
- looks down on the people
- cannot comprehend why people dont like her
"Pierogi Ruskie" comes from region of Ruś - Red Ruthenia in english . Region borderline of Poland and Ukraine not Russia.
So why Poles changed their name to Ukrainian pierogi ? 😂😂😂 stupidity level hard
