I had a relationship like this except I was the chef and he was the babe. We had great fun and joy. He passed June 2021 after 37 years. I miss his laughter most. Y'all are a delight to watch and help me not feel quite so sad. Thank y'all for posting!
I'm sorry for your loss, but happy you got to experience that kind of love.
Sorry for your loss
Thanks for sharing. Hope he's doing well in heaven 😊
💔 I hope you be okay, sorry for your loss
So sorry for your loss! Rejoicing in the knowledge that the two of you had an extraordinary love for one another.

Love seeing the Old Bay, Chef!! The calamari looks insanely tasty too!
Thank you for telling me what that was 😄. Even in advertently 😂.

Doesn’t beat Tony’s !
@@MsTygame that's your opinion and I respect it and I shan't debate you. 🙂 I do love me some Tony's too. My heart belongs to Old Bay though. ❤💛💙
Andy deep frying them basil leaves is the most Taiwan thing ever
Absolutely Taiwan style
I was wondering who do that, it put oil everywhere. But make sense with outdoor asian kitchen
@@MrAdBountyit’s not just that. Frying the Thai basil (different than Italian or “western” basil) releases the flavour and gives it a textural depth to the dish. And because it’s cooked the taste isn’t as strong, but the scent it gives off really brings all the appetite to the table :) a lot of our appetizers uses these kinds of fragrant spices, and we call them 開胃菜, which literally means “open stomach dishes”
We do deep fry basil leaves and other herbs in Italy too.
Fried curry leaves are an extremely common topping for fried food, usually pakora, in India. It has great aroma and flavour.
Putting Kiwi on calamarie is the most New Zealandic thing I've ever seen, cheers.
Edit: Well, first of all, thanks for 10k likes, my phone hasn't stopped buzzing.
Second of all, I completely understand why he's using kiwi. Please stop explaining it to me. I just thought "a Kiwi using kiwi, that's funny somehow"
Cheers from Germany
I read that like cala marie lmaooo
I was going to ask was that squid she threw at him? Then second guessed when the kiwi came out
It's the most kiwi thing you've seen 🙂
Yo that got me like:
"Is that squid? Yeah it's totally squid."

".........."
"This is squid right?"
Does anyone know if the kiwi is used for flavor or for tenderizing.
The fact that she doesn't have to say more things anymore and he still knows that she wants dinner to be ready.

As somebody who grew up on the Chesapeake Bay, it’s nice to see Old Bay used around the world.
I covet my old bay here in Syd
Ooh Chesapeake bay, like in Chesapeake shores
When something is the best it spreads
i have it here in the UK london too 👍😎
You made the mayonnaise look so easy to make. I always thought you had to add the oil slowly but I stand corrected. All the best from London bro.
I think if using hand blender, it should be slowly from the bottom, then gradually upwards
Yeah, I've tried the "dump all the ingredients in and use a hand blender" method before, but mine just splits.
Hey can you name the ingredients for the mayo, i didn't quite catch them well😬
@@madskillz808try slowly from the bottom for a while then go up
Using kiwi juice to tenderise the squid, subtlety letting us know the New Zealand roots❤
ooooooooh so thats why he used kiwi juice
Does it have similar enzymes to pineapple? I thought he was just using it as a substitute for lemon with a more fruity flavour
@@athmaid its not a citrus fruit but has vitamin c in it. I believe that helps in the process.
@@koushikchakraborty3000 I wasn't saying it's a citrus fruit, just that it could be substitute as it's pretty sour especially if unripe. But yeah apparently kiwi does have a meat-tenderising enzyme like bromelain in pineapple and papain in papaya, it's called actinidain
Koreans also use kiwi to tenderise stuff!!
Don't know who's luckier, the babe who has a chef as hubby or the hubby who has a babe who knows what she wants 😆
Both
definitely the man with a wife that knows what she wants,,, he's way luckier,... im a chef and in reality we very rarely cook for our spouse after working 12 hours,
😂😂😂😂
Nice one 👌
Definitely the man who can cook lol who wants a woman who thinks they know what they want
You’re one of my favorite internet cooks Andy, wish you could become one of my favorite cooks from experiencing your food 😄
Never let him catch your baby 💀
Should be fine... as long as there aren't any dingoes around!
I thought it was preferred to catch a thrown baby?
Having still got arm cramps from successfully making mayo for the first time a couple of days ago, you just put a huge smile on my face showing us the hand blender and a glass trick you bloody legend
Immersion blenders are awesome
You can also make it in a “regular” blender or a food processor - I’m getting DH a newer immersion blender for a belated Christmas present, our is a relic!
That's what I thought
Started making my own mayo a few months ago... the wife and daughter LOVE it so much- it disappears out of the fridge as fast as I can make it!
Haven't tried, but maybe you could use a cheap french press (removing the mesh first) if you want to do it by hand.
I'm not sure I've ever seen someone cook with kiwi before.
it is very normal to use kiwi since the kiwi axit make the thing tender and also maybe some fruity taste (idk)

Love all your videos getting your cookbook soon.
I'm not a good cook, but I am picky about calamari. I used to work the fryers at a sports bar. I would always fry them for 30 seconds in clean oil and they'd be tender and delicious. Fun memories of running around a busy kitchen counting out loud to 30 while the other cooks were like "that's a weird guy."
Every Australian household has those clay pots from a previously eaten yummy dip lol
😂
I used them for my seafood sauce for Christmas lunch 😂😂
Perfect packaging those dips, gets reused 100x

If Andy didn’t catch the calamari there wouldn’t have been this amazing shorts
Thank you for sharing your perspective and disrupting the echo chamber. What’s a little surprising to me is just how many women can’t seem to decipher when they’re being patronized to and blatantly disrespected versus being shown “tough love”. A stranger on the internet does not know their audience personally or well enough to have the capacity to be in the position to give anyone “tough love”. How so many readily conflate love with abuse is frightening and confirmation that dissenting opinions are absolutely necessary.
As a Marylander it makes me so happy to see you use old bay
So crispy that it sounds like a beer time :)
Wow I'm from spain and we have an extremely similar dish called "Rabas" or "Calamares" and its one of my favorites.
What an interesting convo with kiwi, really new Zealandish
He should be a judge on master chef Australia

I had to rewatch to make sure I saw what I think I saw 😂😂 I wonder what the kiwi juice does to the squid ? Either for flavour or tenderising I’d have to guess
It will soften or tendering the squid
Kiwifruit contains a tenderising enzyme called actinidin, which can be used for short meat marinades, although you should be sure to keep the marinade to around a half an hour or else the meat can become mushy. Just as pineapple contains bromelain and papaya contains papain, all enzymes which can be used in marinades to tenderise meat.
