What did you think of the RE2R Fixed Camera Mod!? If you enjoyed this video, please leave a LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for more Mods! bit.ly/ROEsubscribe
This Mod is very awesome JJ the Fixed Camera Angles is just like the original Resident Evil 2.
hi 2:16
Do a full playtrough with both scenarios!
I think it's crazy cool🙌🏻👍🏻 if they put me some spiders and crows It's practically the "dream"👌🏻🙌🏻
P.S. Too many shots (some very Rebirth vibes), but it's not important
Semi-automatic aiming (but for a fan made mod it's too much) And in general a clean job, with icons in the right places👍🏻🙌🏻👌🏻
And original style inventory congratulations to the creator🙌🏻😉
A step back so giant you kick your own arse. What's next? A mod that brings back lo res textures and warping PS1 rendering?
That looks so good I wish Capcom had added this an option to play the game officially
Should have rewarded u with this if u completed all the scenarios
All the games moving forward for this franchise should give players 1st, 3rd and fixed cameras. That ways there’s something for everyone
@@MR.__GThat's a LOT more development time.....we should be happy we got 1st/3rd person perspectives in recent games already.
@@BreadCatMarcus how hard can it be just to change camera perspectives ? Modder’s be doing these things for free lol
@@MR.__G It's not difficulty, it's time. And time is money.
Oh wow, someone actually finally did it. It's not just a video edit.
The walking is so hilarious. It's like Leon is dream-walking instead of running for his life. You never notice it unless you watch it from a different perspective.
Yeah, Leon is like going to slip every step he makes. 😂😂😂 They need to add more friction and momentum shifting on his running animation.
I know what you mean, but it kind of looks like that in Re1 remake too.
@@jonissues1914 Really? It reminds me more of Dark Souls 2.
@@jonissues1914 no it doesn't.
Just gotta make the running animation slower or increases the player movement @@AkoSiFrance
13:04 The way you get knocked down from that angle is hilarious 🤣
Reminds me of Punch Out lol
hell yeah, hair flyin everywhere , got knocked out of frame 😂😂
Wow those camera angles are so well picked, really impressive stuff
Of course. They're inspired by the original game.
Even the music is from the original game. Goosebumps man! Love it!
Thats in the base RE2 Remake already. You can switch between them.
@@CaptainPerfect I'd recall that the og soundtrack is DLC material that has to be bought separately
Really loving Leon's running animation just ever so slightly not quite matching the speed in which he traverses the game world.
You should do a whole live stream with this
up
word brother!
100% that would be awesome
I agree!
The Fixed camera angles look great
Need a full playthrough.....ASAP!!!💯💯💯
up
Hey Capcom!! I would pay DLC price for a mode like this on consoles. Fixed camera is just THE classic way to experience a Surivival Horror.
agreed
Yes!
Nah it's awful. Who tf wants to run straight ahead then the camera angle suddenly point at Leon's crotch. People and their nostalgia.
I wouldnt and its ppl like you who have made gaming pay to play.
Hell yeah!
6:20 THIS camera angle thooo! it gives you the OG vibes gosh wish they did the remake in this way, absolutely gorgeous
Nope. The remake would've been trash. Good thing they didn't use this.
@@IlDiavolo2515 you couldnt be more wrong. Its like calling re1 remake trash.
@@SrBlue-qp2uxMaybe it would’ve been cool if Capcom made it an option to play RE2R like this, but only this? Hell no.
Occasionally I still go back to Resident Evil Outbreak file 01 and 2. They are very amazing and underrated games on the PS2.
Occasionally i go back to to resident evil 2, 3 for the ps1.
Outbreak file 1 and file 2 does not get enough love.
I would give everything able to play outbreak games on my PS5 with my friends online. The game had the most hardcore mechanics that's why i loved it.
One thing i don't like in the outbreak 1,2 is that they miss the headshot explosions. Simply a resident evil game without the headshot explosions is like something is missing from the game since all resident evil games have this feature exept the outbreak games.
Outbreak File 2 was my first ever RE game. Didn't have Internet hooked up to my PS2 but I enjoyed it nonetheless solo.
Outbreak File 3 could work so well now in the era of proper online console gaming.
Absolutely incredible. What an amazing mod. Would LOVE to see a full playthrough.
Amazing. Love the classic music along with the classic RE 2 tank controls and fixed camera angles. For me the fixed angles are the best as you can take in the whole environment along with your character.
2:50 demonstrates why fixed camera stuff was so cinematic - if you were playing in third person, you'd probably never catch the moment the zombie sets itself on fire unless you were looking right at it, and if you were looking right at it, you wouldn't have anything else in shot.
One of the benefits of a fixed camera system was that it framed the entire scene so that you could, like watching a film, not only see the things of importance, but see the dramatic context of the scene.
And of course, that's leaving aside the performance benefits; if the RE2 remake had been done with fixed camera, the actual visual quality could have been pushed even higher, at much lower cost, even without prerendered environments.
I get what you're saying with this. It's a valid point. But the main thing here is that when you play with this perspective, it adds another layer of seperation. Games really shouldn't be going for "cinematic". Leave that to films as intended. We play games to be immersed, and the more distance between you and what is actually going on in the game is detrimental, especially when it comes to horror. For horror to truly be at its most effective, and this even extends to cinema (and even the original RE games where you couldn't see something around a corner but could hear it), it's usually the case of the unknown or the unseen that tends to be the most scary. It's certainly the case when playing games like RE7 in VR, where the game was at its most unsettling whenever nothing was really going on and it was quiet apart from the odd rattling of a window somewhere.
@@steve_ire321 "it adds another layer of seperation"
Really doesn't, in fact. If that were the case, first person would be the absolute "best" perspective in gaming at all times, wouldn't it? Especially for horror - but on the contrary, a major percentage of the most significant horror games in history... are not first person. Indeed, all the best examples make use of a third person camera - and often a very restricted or shackled one - to significantly heighten the horror elements. And thus far, there has been nothing to actually suggest that they would have been better in another perspective.
Arguably, a game's perspective is a far more complicated matter than just "closer is more immersive, more immersive is more betterer" - for example, it's interesting to look at the camera work used in Silent Hill 4: The Room. In the apartment, a first person perspective is forced, to convey the sense of being trapped in a confined space, and heighten the helpless voyeurism of looking out at a world you can't reach.
"the more distance between you and what is actually going on in the game is detrimental"
Less is more, especially where horror is concerned; the absolute peak horror in any medium spends more time plucking at your imagination than it does at your eyeballs.
For example, Soma remains one of the most horrifying games I've ever played; because its first person perspective was often used specifically not to reduce the distance between the player and the game world... but on the contrary, to create more distance between the player and their own character; one of the game's darkest, most unsettling moments is born of being given the opportunity to finally look in a mirror.
"For horror to truly be at its most effective, and this even extends to cinema"
Again, if this were true, all the "best" horror films would be shot in first person, to fully convey what the individual person was experiencing. The reality is - first person cinematography is often misused, and its primary purpose is in shorter shots establishing what a character can see (and even then, the most effective horror scenes in history... are not from a character's perspective).
The best horror isn't about jump scares or realism; the best horror can unsettle and instil dread through the subtlest cues. Indeed, some of the most atmospheric and fear-inducing moments in Resident Evil 2 were not dark scenes, not tight close-ups, but careful distant framing that highlighted the isolation and vulnerability of the protagonist.
This is what I mean by cinematic; just as one can apply the same fundamental principles to any still image... games are, regardless of their interactive element, the art of moving pictures. The same rules apply.
By cinematic I do not mean "trying superficially to look like films".
With an over-the-shoulder camera, what you end up with most of the time is a combination of outright bad cinematography (if the player doesn't look at the right things), or boring cinematography, because the view never really changes. Both of these things represent the artistic antithesis of horror, and certainly do "immersion" no favours.
@@steve_ire321like movies and books, you could be immersed, be invested and empathize with the characters and story without an specific perspective. Original SH games and Resident Evil games have a great old school fan base because we were invested for several reasons including gameplay. Old things still work but for a mechandise point of view is a risk that the developers don't want to take. And I'm ok with that, re2 and re4 remake are excelent games.
Very well said.
By cinematic you mean security camera... fixed camera looks nothing like cinematic and spoils the immersiveness of over the shoulder
alphaZomega strikes again 👍So glad he's part of the Resident Evil modding community.
who is he do u have link for his chnal his mod is relly good love it 👍🏻
Man RE2 was one of the first PS1 games I played as a kid. I remember being scared as hell throughout and was blown away with 2 different discs/characters and intertwining story. I was pretty happy with the remake, but classic outfit, inventory, music, and fixed camera angles! I'm definitely replaying this.
I saw this pop up at the Nexus yesterday and I knew you'd be excited. Hopefully you'll do a playthrough soon.
Dude I'm not going to lie the fix camera angles it was like it's just a pure like chef's kiss I would love to see you beautiful play through this
This should've been an unlockable in the game to be honest 😐
The old music and sound effects are a nice touch
You should do a full playthrough of this mod.
“Fixed” camera angles in gaming are amazing and such a lost “art” form.I hope it comes back to modern gaming in time.
I would love a full playthrough
It feels like someone is watching you and even inside the Rpd you have that feeling its raining outside because you sometimes see the Windows without actively looking through the window. I love it
This is what I wanted!!!! Full play through needed man!
Full playthrough?
YES! DO IT!
As an old gamer who played the original in the 90's, THIS is perfection.
I'm an oldschool RE fan, but I'm one of the few with an open mind who loves OTS RE's as well. However, seeing this revives my love for the franchise like it's never been before.
That's pretty cool that it feels like a remaster of the OG RE2 if you combine the alternative, the original music and the fixed camera mod all together
I hoped the community showed some love for RESIDENT EVIL 3 and tried to fix the remake. Adding the cut content. Cut areas...pretty much everything.
Also, imagine this mod gameplay with Outbreak remake, playing online with your buddies. A man can only dream.
And I hope the Resident Evil community and modders show some love to the coming Silent Hill 2 remake. looks like we going to need you.
That can't be saved, you'll need to do it again from scratch
I've been waiting tor a mod like this. Definitely gonna habe to get it.
Congrats to creator of this mod, it's obvious they are legit fan of the series, the camera angles are so spot on, it's like something Capcom would have made in 90s.
Super cool! Some aspects meant for over the shoulder are still off a bit, but this is still beautifully done!
Wow would be amazing if you stream or play the entire game with this mod.
I would watch the entire gameplay.
This should have been an option in the original release, since so many people love fixed camera angle. As you said, it feels like a movie!
or it could feel like CCTV, like someone is watching you, maybe Wesker ;)
Appreciate how cool this is. Even better with the old music too!
FULL PLAY THROUGH. YESSSS
This mod is legendary. The only problems I see are that the camera angles change a bit too much at some parts of the game, and probably they should have used more angles from OG RE2. Also more dynamic camera angles would've been cool, but probably that's hard to program. Idk why capcom doesn't make this into an official thing for all the remakes and sale it as DLC, I'm 100% sure that thousands for fans will buy it.
Oh my god I have to give this a go! Do you know you can if you can pair it up with Nightmare Mod?? 😱😱
I'm all for it!
Would love to do a full play through like this! Definitely need to check the mod out sometime
Man you got me back the feeling of the 1998 Resident Evil 2
I love it! Just a bit tooo many camera angles... with a little less it would be such a wonderful experience without giving headache! Ahah
This is also a problem with RE1 remake. They want to add so much it gets confusing. The first trilogy and Zero have the perfect balance of fixed camera angles in my opinion. The first two Onimusha also have great camera transitions.
@@viejodelentes6079I don't really remember REmake having that problem. There were some extra ones at times if that makes sense, but not this bad.
Please do a full Play through JJ! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Full play through absolutely! The angles look great! Love it!
I saw a dude on tiktok playing this mod I followed him right away to see more and there you are playing the same mod.
Nostalgia !
This is wonderful. People still doubt the power of fixed camera, it's so good. Hope in future RE games they at least make this an option.
petition to have a full playthrough!
Why can't capcom do this they put the third person mode in village but not this in the og remakes
They will charge you for this.
@@ofiCHQso what i ll buy it any thing to get the fixed cam back 🔥
This is way much better than behind the shoulder
I have been a fan of this channel for years, this is the best mod you’ve ever shown JJ thanks!
definitely downloading this!
Leon walking/running funny is part of the mod? Sht looks hilarious... 🤣
Yeah, this bugs me too but it's understandable since we're not supposed to see that. lol
if they tweak the travel distance more fast/slower just to sync movement animation, i think it going to look solid.
That is how Leon walks/runs in the original version, but it wasn't clearly on the shoulder view.
@@GilberThorSolkio I only played the remake for a few minutes, what's funny is this is how I know resident evil, so hardly noticed anything wrong with his movements.
This is SO MUCH better to look at than over the shoulder 3rd person
Amazing! Full play through please!
GRACIAS!!!GRACIAS!!!
Llegó el momento de disfrutar de este clásico de cuando niño remasterizado y con las cámaras clásicas!!
Estaba esperando este momento para verlo (dije que no lo jugaría)hasta que no hubiese cámaras fijas y llegó ese momento!!!
GRACIAS!!!!!!Me has alegrado la semana 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
And they say fixed angles are outdated..... man, I wish they'd stop sucking up to the younger audience, they're clearly clueless about what real survivor horror should look like.
The fixed camera should've stayed. Stupid new generation of video games ruined it. I said what I said lol
This is the BIG one, can’t wait to use this mod!
This is fantastic. It needs to have the things you can walk up to and inspect and get a short description of what you're looking at though. When you can't look closely at something because the camera is fixed that element is more necessary too.
those intro 10 seconds i am sold that looked awesome
That looks freaking awesome.💥 This is worthy of a full playthrough.🤙
Bro, this is nuts. I wish I could try this my own.
That is totally awesome. Reminds me the old days. Great work.
Putting aside the floaty feet, this is pure magic.
This looks awesome!!
Definitely do the full playthrough !!!
Subscribed here and following in twitch for that sweet sweet fixed camera run
This is what I expected RE2 Remake would look like back in 2000s given that's how RE1 Remake worked. It makes me feel old realising that RE1 Remake is already 20 years old.
Absolutely fantastic!
This is so awesome, i can't wait to play it. I didn't complete the game because i got bored of it, but now i think i'll complete it. This is exactly what i wanted from the remakes, i love the fixed camera angles.
This is what I always wanted in the originals, opening doors without a damn cutscene of it opening each time I enter a room!
Wow that looks so good!
That was awesome !! Please do a full play through !!!
Oh please play the whole game like this! I own it on steam but my PC can't handle it, so I never played it and it would've been a dream to play it like this. The OG RE2 was always my favorite Resi game too.
They really got the camera angles looking good with this mod.
Oh, man this looks gorgeous! Well done mod team :)
Capcom! We need this officially on our table! Resident Evil 3 Remake Director's Cut as well. Love to the fixed camera angles and tank controls! ❤
this is insanely awesome ❤
full playthrough!! 🎉
Wow that looks amazing
I really liked your outfit and the fixed camera is very nostalgic
No question in my mind man definitely do a full playthrough I would definitely watch it
Siiiiiick! That's dope as! Sweet Barry Burton's Glock I wish this was an in game option, oh how I crave this, colossal thanks to all involved in putting this together, absolutely phenomenal 🤩
The modding community is pure passion, technical skill, and creativity. I’m so glad that people like that exist and make things that everyone can enjoy freely like this.
God bless this modder! I never wanted 3 person remake. Just classic! Thank you so much!!
damn this is sooooo cool!! thanks for the info on it.
This is awesome. Always loved the added tension of the fixed cameras. They got it perfect in Veronica with fixed cameras but some of them panning or moving on a rail. Defo gonna give this a go.
Really cool! Love this
This is what I was hoping for when I heard of a resident evil 2 remake
Man, I love this!
oh that's so cool!
i love the library music
Feel so nostalgic & great.
This looks great!!
So much better atmosphere
Really cool 😎 love the fixed camera angle!! Dream come true ❤️
This is absolutely amazing. I'm going to download the mod and go through the whole game again.
This mod looks amazing cant wait to give it a try soon and mix it up with a randomizer
