I've thrown the zombies off a couple times to on normal difficulty but it rarely happened I've played thought the main campaign at least 5 times and it's only happened about 3 or 4 times
Mr. X's AI is honestly really dumb in this game, sometimes he will stand around like an idiot when Leon or Claire are a different elevation than him.
Capcom's dev team needs to step it up if they make a RE3 remake and make Nemesis's AI smarter.

I STG
MrX's reactions to gun fire, running and standing still make a lot lf sense from a realism stand point. MrX while a mutant, it still(or was) human and has the same senses. Much like tbe Worms in Dune he reacts slowly to running because its just another set of foot steps among the dozens of other footsteps of the zombies. Gunfire on the other hand is unique to the living, hence his quicker response. And finally standing still in a corner makes you a ghost when compared to the constant zombie ambience, forcing him to methodically check every room.
This actually makes a los of sense
MrX actually isn't or ever was a human. If you have re3 remake there's an online game mode that shows he's a controllable cyborg.

@Son Gohan unfortunately that's a bug, no enemies can enter the STARS room, from what I'm reading you must be at the regular police area at the 1st floor because the STARS room is on the 2nd floor on a hallway connected to the library.

Dude, the SMG absolutely _shreds_ bosses, Claire has worse weapons when it comes to zombies, but they're better for bosses.

Smg is not bad against zombies even, you can take a leg off with just a few rounds and that is usually plenty to get past.

I was in Danger (red) hp when Mr. X came right in front of me and he reached out to punch me to death when suddenly a zombie attacked me so I thought oh well at least Mr. X doesn't kill me and he freaking punched the zombie right off me, I took no damage and lived. He is my bro now and I will never shoot off his hat ever again. ♥

Happend to me on the 4th survivor near the end of it, got grabbed by an ivy with only the knife left. Essentially saving me to finish the game. Also happend to me in hardcore mode, ended up being saved by mr x more times than being hurt. Mr. X is best bro!

Some things.
The way MR. X works is like this.
His base mode when he doesn’t know where you are is patrol mode. He has a couple of patrol paths that take him through every room in the RPD. He is also visually and audibly activated. So if you are in the same wing as him (you can hear his footsteps) if you make noise like shooting a gun or stomping around yourself he will start heading automatically for that room.
There are a few places in the library that if you stand he won’t find you but in the video he would have found you eventually his patrol path hadn’t taken him through the library yet. When he did he would have seen you as his patrol path takes him up the library stairs.
Also the dodge only works if you are trying to run by the zombies and it only works on standard. They will grab you 100% of the time on hardcore.
Joe Wilkinson I was grabbed in hardcore and Leon autopushed the zombie off. But I do think it’s more rare on hardcore.
Joe Wilkinson Actually, in my S+ Claire A Hardcore run, I managed to dodge a zombie when going through the west hallway. It was 100% luck though.
In hardcore, zombies lunge forward twice, when i played it i always wait for their lunge and i pull back then strafe to the side but not stopping because they lunge twice, but yeah they are still dogeable.,

Mr.X doesnt know exactly where you are. Ive actually managed to keep him from seeing me while sneaking in the library, he walked around the room, and eventually he left.
Yes, I’ve experienced the whole “pushing the zombie aside without taking damage” several times. It does seem to occur whenever you run past a zombie and it attacks you sideways. I wouldn’t know the exact details of how to consciously trigger it, but it definitely does happen and it’s always when attacked from the side.
Regarding the suppressor, that's actually really impressive from a realism standpoint. Whether it was intended from the game designers or not, a suppressor in real life doesn't really silence the gunshot but it does mask the direction it's coming from. When he fires in front of the lickers, they can clearly hear the shots but definitely don't know where he is. Pretty cool. Although in real life, in an enclosed corridor, a suppressor probably wouldn't really do anything, but this is a video game.

Lickers need to hang from ceilings.
Sure, but it's still not realistic. Indoors, that weapon would be loud as fuck. There would be no mistaking what direction the shot was coming from. I admit, though, it's cool either way.
The lickers would still be able to clearly hear the action of the gun and the clinking of discarded casings. I suppose they'd be more interested in the bullets hitting walls or zombies, though. Lickers aren't really as sensitive as they should be, since being blind would presumably mean they have MUCH better hearing than sighted enemies.
For a gun to be really really silent irl. (I have experience with it, I'm American lol) a suppressor alone doesn't deafen the sound so much as it has to be coupled with sub sonic ammunition. Both suppressor and subsonic ammo = BB gun level sound.

I did try a little something yesterday while playing it; I walked slowly to the point I wasn't making sounds with Mr. X around. He didn't know where I was, instead, he left the area I was at and went to a different room. I stood still in the main lobby with him by Marvin's body, he didn't notice me, especially when I started to walk slowly towards the library.

Anyone ever run like crazy from the “safe-zone” typewriter rooms to avoid Mr. X, only to get to the room you need to be in and realise you left the item you need back in the item box? Yeah that sucked with him stomping around. He was more terrifying than G stage 4. Well done Capcom for an absolutely awesome remake.🤘🏼

I have done something similar to that, but instead of pushing the zombie away, it looks like the zombie can't get a firm grab on you and you just escaped that grab.
It happened to me at the very beginning of Claire 2nd run where you grab the bolt cutter right outside the RPD area where the helicopter crash landed. I was running and the zombie was trying to grab me at about 5/6 o'clock of my position.
So yeah, it's possible, but it's kinda hard to pull it off consistently tbh.

@@sO_RoNerY After playing for a while, i can safely say that what will indicates to him your position is when you shoot.
Precisely, he can be anywhere and hear your gunshot, BUT he'll not rush there for you, but for the sound itself, as if you're in the library, try to shoot the wall, as your in the stairs (the corner one) and run straight to the corner in the video (where he waited 10 mins) and look as he comes in, rush through the stairs, and stand briefly before going back to his sentinel mode.
He doesn't react to ANY NOISE, tho.
Only running and shooting attracts him, tbh. (shooting = from everywhere, running = if he's next door, for example)
Hell the Bell room doesn't even make him give a flying fuck, for example...
Lickers have a great sense of hearing but can't hear a silenced SMG right infront of them aswell as a noisy reload click clack lol
There have been at least 2 occasions where X didn't know where I was. I walked into the main hall on the 2nd balcony and watched him wander around looking confused. As he moved towards the shutters I used a pillar to hide behind. Never saw me... then once I accidentally ran up behind him in a hallway. He spun around and knocked me on my ass

Yeah but he's probably comparing them based on how you can use them. The shotgun and smg have more potential ammo more often compared to the l.hawk or g. Launcher. Though the launcher is used significantly more then the l. Hawk.

On Claire's playthrough there IS a typewriter in the main hall. But there is no typewriter on the 2un of either Claire or Leon.

he mentioned it the way he did because at the time of the recording he didn't make the 2nd game clear on both characters.

TQT1995 true, it’s great at boss fights, but it sucks when it’s aimed at small targets like a zombie’s head because of the large bullet spread when fired on full auto.

Tbh I like Claire's smg more than the shotgun. You make 3 bullets for shotgun. You make like 40 bullets for the smg? I can't really remember. Granted, I mainly use the smg to put a few shots to zombies to maneuver around them. Then again it might be because of my way of playing
The smg is surgically precise for limb removal on zombies. I used it on hardcore mode and had so much fun completely removing all it's limbs and watching it still try to chase me.

The push might be similar to the original RE3's auto dodge (after ur bitten Jill will push the next attacking zombie within a time frame to stop you from being trapped in an endless cyclr of bites until u die). It also could be very mild random chance. I've had it happened to me on hardcore.

Don't quote me on this, but from what I have heard Mr. X only patrols hallways unless he is attracted to you. From what i have heard, if he is coming after you, he will follow you into rooms, if he loses you, he checks rooms nearby where he last saw you, and after a while he returns to patrolling the hallways. Might be worth looking at in the future.
I can back this up. This happened to me yesterday. I was in the safety deposit room and would hear him walking and opening up doors to other rooms nearby. He never walked in.

Yes it works. You can run into a room he can't go into an just chill for a bit. You will him stomping around outside, and eventually he will wander off on patrol unless he hears you shooting. Then he heads towards you.

Played on PC and with Standard difficulty: Lickers up on the ceiling jump attack when under them. Doesn't matter if I try to be extra silent either.
Huh that shouldn't be happening. I also play on pc and i just walk right on by them with no special tricks, trying not to touch them and resisting the urge to run.

deejayxcrypt I think lickers sometimes drip saliva down when they’re on the ceiling so don’t walk directly underneath them.
When a licker notices you walking near it, it rears up on its legs before searching for you and if it's on the ceiling, that'll bring its head close enough to touch you if you're directly underneath of it. So you're probably bumping into its head as you walk past, but hugging the wall should allow you to get by safely
Yeah same, and then I did a hardcore run as Leon story A and I was watching a youtube guide, he was like "Just walk by them dont be scared" I was like "Bruh, i tried this so many times Ima die" but to my surprise, for some reason it worked that time. I thought it was so strange because i tested it many times on my first run, aim walking and all I couldny sneak past them.
Something subtle I noticed with the suppressed SMG video clip: after turning away from the zombie you hit, the one closeby seemed to turn not towards Claire, but to where the shell casings coming from the SMG landed on the floor.

Ricky H In my game. It didn't kill them. But they were at full hp. So maybe if they are wounded. They might die.
I didn't see it kill zombies, but after knocking same zombie about 7 times it couldn't get up anymore and only crawled.
You can test in with Leon A, third floor, when exiting clocktower. There is a cop zombie at the other end of passage and when Mr.X patrols entire floor, he knocks that zombie on every passage - granted you lured the zombie close to the narrow hallway.

Zombie:*head explodes*
Mr X.: “OH MY GOD I AM SO SORRY”

As long as you walk around in the library rather than running then he won't come in unless he finds you randomly.
Lockers won't take full damage from any grenade round if they fall from the ceiling.
The damage is not fully registered, which is why they survive. They take maybe 2/3rds of overall damage.
It's the same where if you used the Spark Shot, as they will fall and most likely break the barbs, causing you to do maybe about 15% overall damage (85% of the Spark Shot damage comes at the end).
When your trying to solve a puzzle but hear those damned footsteps
I was presented the "gears in the clocktower" puzzle while i was being harassed by Colossus' footsteps and my god- I've never figured out a puzzle faster. I did not want to be trapped in those close quarters with him.

@Christopher Marlowe he Force spawns by the locked door to the Library in the Stars Room hallway after you read Claires note in Leon B. you could probably force spawn him there while the other is still chasing you.
Some great mods for multiple Mr X's. One dude turned him into the Nemesis and he calls out 'STARS" when chasing you.

@@Ravathiel Mr X doesn't roam the RPD in Leon B from the start. You have alot of time to do most of what you'd want to do before you go to the STARS office. I tested this and I went to the end of the hallway before going into the STARS office and he spawned. I don't know what will happen if you go in and out the office without going to the locked door to the lounge at the end of the hall but he will spawn there when you get the a certain point in the hallway regardless of if you have gone into the office or not. As far as I know at least, i went through my Leon B pretty cautiously cuz I didn't know what would be the same or what would be different.

I kind of assumed like the nemesis who only targeted star, that mr X would chase anyone related to the rpd or part of it so it knows what kind of people to kill. It could be possible it was wired to kill ANY living civilian

Lore startes that out of the six Tyrants sent into Raccoon City. Mr. X was tasked with finishing HUNK's mission and recover the G sample hence why he targets Sherry in the original version.

I completed this game twice, both on hardcore mode. Never even once I needed to kill a licker, I just simply walked through them.
What about the ones in the lab? Those two lickers are aggressive instantly
@@theeagle4463 I can confirm that the two in the lab aren't aggressive on spawn. I sat still when they came out and they didn't go for me. I walked all the to the point where they pop in, though, maybe that's the outlier?
@@theeagle4463 They got agressive at me when I was running in my first playthrough. In my 2nd playthrough I knew that they will be there and was walking, and they didn't go agro on me. If you don't bump into lickers or don't shoot/run, then at most they will just get startled and start slowly moving closer to you when you walk past them.

They’ve made lickers so tough, it isn’t worth fighting them.
I play assisted and that zombie evade happens often. And I believe you get way more time to push L1 to use a knife or grenade. Also I think there’s a difference if you’re in that door pushing sprint animation vs just sitting there and a zombie does it’s lunge on you. It’s always when I’m running for my life and it’s in that new doorway uncharted zoom animation if that makes sense.
The one with pushing it happend to me twice on the Standard difficulty
I think that the amount of time it takes him to find you while running (or still for that matter) depends on a lot of factors and can vary pretty widely. Where he is relative to you, how far away when you start counting, whether he’s moving towards or away from you at that time, and others variables factor in. It took him 5 minutes on the one occasion you showed, but if you watch some people’s play-throughs, some people have whole ~30+ minute sessions in which he seems to pop up literally every other minute at the longest, despite them making a great effort not to fire their guns during that time precisely to avoid his detection (Alaska is one example, and she was on normal difficulty too).
My gameplay experience was like this! I tried my best to not fight any zombies anymore after he showed up as to not fire any shots and make noise, but he would still show up everywheerreeee.
As I stated in my other comment, I believe this has to do with solely how far away he is. When Mr X is in an adjacent room to the one you're in, you can hear his footsteps. If you run, he will hear you.
If he's in a room 2 or more rooms away from you, you can't hear his footsteps, and you can run all you like. But once you hear his footsteps, no matter how muffled, do not run.

The SMG replaces the magnum and I find it one of the most underrated guns ever! I use it to save ammo for my other guns, silently take out enemies, finish enemies off and after it's fully upgraded it's a beast, I prefer Claire's weapons to Leon's all day long, great video though

The reason why Mr.X won't follow you down the staircase behind the statue is because the door is way to small for him to fit in and also because it's a save point however zombies will and can follow you there.

I swear on my Claire playthrough he was coming down there after me and I only escaped because I ran for the elevator. This is right as I opened up that entryway with the coins so maybe it has different circumstances then.
if you shoot from all the way in the save room, he'll come about halfway down the stairs, stare for a bit, and then turn and stomp away
Wrong, there are multiple Doors in The PD that are too small But he just hunches below them and and goes through them with his body side ways. The REAL reason is because umbrella designed MR x in a way that those rooms were to be avoided because chief irons would use them to safely hide in while MR x took care of The remaining survivors

Captain Eggcellent pushing the zombie off and taking no damage after it attacks you is 100% possible. And I have done it multiple times on standard/normal difficulty
However, I’m unsure as to how to do I but it seems to happens more often when you are injured and sprint in past the zombie in a certain direction
Mr x can save you from lickers when they are nearby
I believe it happens when you are trying to run past a zombie
I have experienced the "pulling away from zombie", but it only happens when passing a zombie (moving in a way that isn't directly towards the zombie but gets you close enough for it to grab you), rather than standing still or running into the zombie. After the zombie "grabs" you, you get a defence item button prompt and depending on the angle that the zombie is to you and in which direction you move afterwards, the zombie with either get the upper hand and bite, or you will pull away. It can be hard to get this to happen intentionally, but i suppose you still can, don't know about possible difficulty differences though. Hope this helped.

The pushing zombies away happened to me a couple times. Each time I was running pass them and one would grab me as I ran but Leon would push it away instead. So I think it happens by chance while running.

With the pushing zombies off, it only happens when you clip the zombies hit area so it'll slow you down a bit but you can still get by since you were just far enough away
The zombie push off one only happened a couple times for me, and only when i was already running
Escaping the grab happens if the zombie doesn’t get a good grip on you, to me it only has happened when I was running (to any direction expect the zombie). And during those few seconds when you get the icon to press R1 you can get away free or if a second zombie joins during the stun of getting off the zombie that failed to grab you before will result in a double bite. This has happened to me in both campaign and 4th survivor (specially in 4th survivor) and I like this mechanic because it makes the game feel more organic
I can confirm this. The Zombies must be a certain distance away in order to brush them off, more specifically, the zombie must be at the end of their Lunge Animation when they touch you. I’ve had it happen to me twice in the span of 2 minutes in the first area of the B Scenario, and never occurred again.
Like everyone else mentioned, don’t run towards the zombie, and don’t get grabbed by another, in order to brush off grabs.
Was playing it last night and I managed to push a zombie off, dunno how it happened but didn’t question it just legged it
The first time this happened to me was on the first zombie you encounter in Ada's section (Standard difficulty). Horrible timing, too, because it gave me a false sense of security thinking Ada was too nimble to get grabbed or something.
I had this happen once. I was on standard difficulty and running through an area at the time.
It's only happened to me outside the RPD at the start of the game, I assumed it happened to make getting there easier.
The reason MR x doesnt attack you in safe rooms and The Underground safe room is simply because umbrella designen him to avoid These rooms as These were to be used by chief irons to hide in while MR x hunted The remaining survivors. As you know chief irons cooperated with umbrella.
That would not be a bad in story reason. Although that doesn't work for the STARS room.
@@Brollyssweetface Jesus Christ, this is The official explanation. Its a note you can find in The original game and I Dont get why it wouldnt work in The stars room? Its a part of The Police station, Its literally weskers office, and he literally works with umbrella.

Obviously umbrella could care les as to what happens to irons once The outbreak had happened, it was just a deal bewtween The two that These specific areas of The PD would remain untouched by the tyrant as he would frequent These for safety.
That would actually be a pretty neat idea. Except i'm fairly sure they would want Irons dead as well. The whole idea was to just kill anyone left that knew what Umbrella was up to. Although Irons does seem to be in communication with someone wanting the pendant. So maybe this is possible he is in contact with Umbrella still.
The pushing a zombie off one usually happens when your running beside a zombie that latches onto you right as your running by it and it’ll do a pushing off animation.
The pushing the zombie away one did happen to me a lot on assisted difficulty. But it always seemed like the zombie was trying to get ahold of you from a weird angle and just couldn't because you're running.
A couple times I was able to push off a zombie without taking damage. I figured it was just random.

I just spin the joystick around a lot when they lunge and I get away fairly often, I don’t know if it’s just the movement or if I have some weird twitch pattern working in my favor but it works
It has only ever happened for me on standard when running past at full speed and the zombie just barely grabs you. It seemed realistic to me because it was like my momentum from the sprint was all that helped me shake him off.
i'm pretty sure a consistent way to do this is to use RGB herbs which increase endurance , they let you shrug off some attacks from zombies

In the library you were running there for the stand still one. He is attracted to you if you run, therefor you ruined the test
In regards to the pushing the zombie away without taking any damage myth that’s definitely something you can do. I have done it myself several times playing the game on our difficulties standard through hard core. I’ve even done it in the ghost survivors side missions as well
In both A/B scenarios for me, the character would only push off the zombies if I was already sprinting and they came from and angle or the side and I was barely in grabbing distance, but it happened a lot, especially in the lab stages where it’s all hallway

I've experienced the zombie push thing once or twice playing on Hardcore, even. I don't know what triggers it. I think it does have something to do with the angle of attack, but I found that it happens at more of 45 degree angle, not directly from the side and I was in motion.
Such amazing video i love this remake version of my fave game , i love both old and new versions of this game.
