      That's why I left it as my channel preview 😂 it might actually be counter intuitive because people come to my page looking for metal guitar stuff, and then are like "wtf is this" lol

    Loved the intro.
    The mix at the beginning sounded really massive, can't even imagine it was recorded with this pedal.
    I didn't like the pedal alone, sounds really muddy, boomy, almost Orange amp like. It did sound a bit better with the OD but still not my cup of tea, still too much fuzziness going on. It may sound a lot better in the room though, I don't know.
    For 180$ i guess there are better possibilities out there.

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  4 роки тому +3

      Thanks! 🙌 mix at the beginning was tubescreamer>hesher>seacow cab IR (I believe it was a Marshall). No post eq or processing, that was it!

  • @audioengineer86
    @audioengineer86 4 роки тому +1

    This perfectly captures that Marshall grit. I think these analog preamp pedals are great. Diezel and Bogner make some killer ones. They're a little out of my price range, but they're definitely cool!

    Will not be selling my 2203X anytime soon (or ever), but the pedal does sound pretty good! The EQ sweeps are maybe a little odd though? For a JCM800 pedal, check out the PedalPalFX PAL800-V3 GOLD if you ever get the chance. I have the original version, without the extra options added on the V3, and to me it comes really close to nailing the JCM800 sound.

    • @TaylorDanley
      @TaylorDanley  4 роки тому +2

      I think partially it was my editing there, but the mid EQ knob did some a bit odd to me at first. The more I played with it though, the more I realized it was sort of behaving how I'd expect the amp to behave vs a modeling pedal emulating an amp

    Why don't you play a V just like the atomic blast skeleton does on the pedal? Try a Dean Kerry King V.

    This thing sounds amazing. There are so many 800 style pedals out there but they have a hard time scratching the scuzzy type of 800 sound I love. This nailed it when it was boosted. Have you ever tried a Padalpal Pal 800? I’ve got the V3 that they are currently selling and it’s the best 800 style pedal I’ve played/owned.

  • @SuperGuitar38

    Cool intro! But far from a JCM 800 to me. Try a AMT M-1 and it will floor you. Joyo Hot Plexi is also a 800 analog tone.

    The emerging necessity and importance of local production and services provides the opportunity for an assessment of surrounding local resources and service providers. My rule of thumb is to do business locally with accountability as much as possible. I live in Southwest Washington State, where northerly Olympia and southerly Portland constitute the nearest epicenters of commerce. Any chance you might review, for example, where tube amps can be serviced in the surrounding Portland region? Cheers~

      Mike, great question! I was asked in one of my previous viewer commentary videos about Eurotubes, and that's definitely where I would go! Maybe once the situation goes back to normal I can get in touch with them and work out a vid
