Thanks for watching! - Ігри
I have 400+ hours into this game. I'm a builder at heart. This is 100%, not even exaggerating, the best building video on UA-cam. Period. Well done sir. I could hear you talk about Valheim building for hours.
Wow...I'm speechless. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to say such a nice thing. You made my day!
Agreed. I have very little time in valheim, just starting really but I'm so glad I came across this video. Good work thanks for such good info
after watching countless building videos i also agree i have around roughly 360 hours in the game witch feels low at this point. having never played in "god mode/ creative mode" things tend to take a bit more time. however this video absolutely blew me away with what i could achieve in valheim. somehow something as simple as turning the beams or just straight up using stairs/ladders has me thinking of things in a whole new light. thank you so much. cant wait to show off to my friends in our server LMFAO its the humble low key content creators (like indie devs imo) that always dish out the most passionate content.
400 hours of wasted gameplay if this is good to you
same for me too
This video offers a really good breakdown! I've spent far, far more time studying Valheim buildings than the average player, and the tips presented here are spot on.
The Valheim community needs more content like this from you. Well done. Simple logical creative touches.
This video had the quality of a paid & expensive master class for building. As a builder at heart, who has been exploring building in games for decades i can just say: “hat’s off to you sir”. Brilliant suggestions & ideas, very thought provoking & definitely inspiring, can not wait to implement your tips into my own style of building!!
Aww man, thanks so much for the kind words! I mean it; that's the fuel for me to keep pushing toward the next video as each one of these takes quite a bit of work. Stay tuned for a stone + darkwood version like this, and then perhaps a marble version to cap it off.
@@Homitu I was about to ask if we are getting one including stone/iron etc. Super hyped about it, i'll be on the front lines!!
@@Homitu Yesssss!
It would be awesome to see you do videos like this for stone and dark wood as well. I love that I’m able to take these tips and apply them to my own builds.
Glad you found (and apparently many others) have found this so useful! Building in Valheim is so much fun and I truly believe anyone can become a great builder. I'm currently working precisely on a stone + dark wood version of this video, so stay tuned! It's a lot of work though, so probably will take me a month or so.
@@Homitu I'm revisiting Valheim now that Mistlands is out and this video has really inspired me to make my base a home. Just starting in Black Forest but already got the house on stilts, detailed windows, prominant entrance, overhanging roof and it's not just a big square hall full of chests and work benchs! Next steps are two bay windows, an extension and then landscaping.
Can't wait to see what you do with the stone and dark wood materials!
This 🥰
6:18 Channeling a little Bob Ross here lol
Excellent video and useful tips. Funny thing is, none of it is like "genius" level or anything. It's stuff any one of us could do pretty easily. The genius part is just being able to visualize some of these things and think outside of the box in order to use building parts for things they technically weren't intended for. The fence in the window for example. I would have NEVER thought of doing that.
Ha - I'm glad you picked up on the Bob Ross style! That was quite intentional. I grew up watching him every day with my grandpa 30 years ago. I've actually been considering making a Valheim build series called "The Joy of Building" in homage of him. Coincidentally, I even just temporarily changed my youtube profile pic to a cartoon image of him earlier today. I just need a friend to photoshop one of my Valheim build screenshots onto his canvas in the image, and maybe add Hugin in there as one of his critters ;)
I've never been a painter or artist, but Valheim has sort of unlocked a hidden creative side of me I didn't even know was tucked away. Starting a build in Valheim has distinctly reminded me of Bob Ross starting a new painting with a blank canvas, limitless possibilities. I consciously keep his simple philosophies in mind when I build and when I make videos like these: there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents. Experiment. This is your world. Make it however you wish!
Anyway, yes - nothing in this vid is mind blowing or fancy. It's about the beauty of how adding a bunch of simple little things can collectively transform something basic into something much greater. It's aimed at beginners who are struggling to make their starter houses look like more than sheds, which is something I see people asking for a lot on reddit.
I appreciate the kind words. Thank you.
@@Homitu lol I love everything about what you just said.
I used to LOVE Bob Ross when I was a kid. These days it reminds me of my dad (who passed 3 years ago) because he would always turn it on after we got home from church on Sundays to give us something to watch before football started. I have recently started watching it with my daughter on Hulu...or whichever streaming thing has it. It's been wonderful.
Thank you for sharing.
There's so much about this video that is right. You took an iterative approach which made it easy to commit info to memory and then build upon it with each iteration. You spoke clearly and at just the right pace. You made comparisons to real-life objects and techniques. Bravo, friend. I've been at this game for hundreds (1000+?) hours since launch and have built creative structures (treehouses, over-water towers, etc.), but I still found a ton of useful ideas in this. Thank you. Absolute A+ video.
that UI HP, stamina, food and boss buff looks cool
can you tell me what MOD do you use for UI?
Do you know what mod this is?
Another great tip: window shop. Look up cool houses in the style you like. Mid century modern? Victorian? Post modern? Find some cool examples and references and extrapolate them!
For sure! Draw inspiration from wherever you can: real life buildings, other Valheim builders, other video games, movies, it's all fair game!
Everyone’s already saying it but this is one of the best if not the best build tips vid out there. I commend you on the time you took to build over 10 examples and taking the time to go through them. Wonderful content. Subbed for sure
Aww thanks, Beef - really appreciate it!
You should make more videos like this. FANTASTIC! I love the way you literally built ten houses with a new addition in every model.
It's been a while since I learned anything from a Valheim build video but I started picking up new idea about half-way through this one and it just kept going. I'll have to watch it a few more times to really let everything sink in. Fantastic video!
I checked your subscriber count and was shocked. Out of all of the Valheim build UA-camrs I’ve seen, you make the best content. Definitely earned my sub!
Edit:
Only suggestion I have is making a video like this for each stage of the game. For example, core wood, Iron Age (stone included), and advanced (crystal walls, post moder crafting stations, etc…)
Btw this is the best “valheim build tips” video I’ve seen. The step by step with explanation and comparison is unmatched.
Holy moly - what a compliment! Especially given the other phenomenal builders out there! I truly appreciate your kind words. This is the kind of feedback that's motivating me to keep going.
I'm absolutely exploring similar ideas for other building materials, and I have a few ideas. I'm currently working on wrapping up my first Mistlands build, which rapidly became a bit more...epic...in scale than I had imagined going into it. It's been a solid 70+ hours of creative mode building in the making so far, so it's been taking up all of my gaming time by far. I'm really excited to showcase this one and then make a few follow up videos about it and building with the black marble material.
I have a few other builds to showcase and lots more walkthrough style videos for each of them to make, but I might make another video just like this one with mistlands materials (since it's new and everyone is interested in it) before getting to them. Not sure yet, but stay tuned and thanks for subscribing!
I agree. I've watched a lot of videos about building in valheim and this is so helpful. Can probably also use this in minecraft, although the building process is a bit different.
One of the best Valheim build videos I've found. All of this is such good info! Keep up the good work!
I appreciate the kind words! I definitely have a bit of insecurity making these videos, so that means a lot.
Coming back to Valheim soon with friends, and being the dedicated builder of my group, this is just what I needed. Clever and simple buildings, with very good taste and techniques. Definitely a video I'll come back and check, and one that won't get old soon!
Thanks so much and happy building to you and your crew!
I absolutely love this video. The way you step thru each iteration just adding a couple new concepts makes it seem a lot more possible. I feel like I can hang out comfortably at level 4 for a while and then try pushing to level 6 at some point while I’m waiting for carrots. 😄 Really nice work on this!
I've been looking for a video like this for a really long time! I struggle a bit with the transition through ages because I like to keep improving my main base to become sort of a small settlement, and I always wanted some tips to improve and expand early constructions without having to put everything to the ground and build again from the scratch, thanks!
Aw happy to hear you found it useful! Because of the overwhelming response to this video, I'm going to try to make at least 2 more similar videos: one for the stone/iron age and one using black marble. So stay tuned for more!
When I build in valheim, I try to imagine what I would need IRL and build accordingly. Most of my houses are small 2x4 with a bed, chair, rug, fireplace, and a couple chests. My bigger halls, where I aggregate all of my things, are usually huge longhouse structures surrounded by raised fort walls, moats, and completely self-contained. They are megaprojects. Everything else is simply a cozy little shack for overnight stays.
This is such a great tutorial! I was kinda sceptical at first, but it escalated quickly! So good!
Hahaha. As I was showing levels 1-2, I was fully aware of how crappy the building looked; so I wanted to get through them quickly before viewers would lose interest. While showing the windows, I think I even said something like, "these are nothing special right now, but just bear with me. One small step at a time and the house will transform."
I also imagine that's where the youtube chapters feature really helped out. I imagine many viewers skipped ahead a little to see if this was ultimately going anywhere. In the end, I'm definitely glad I included the basic house and little upgrade early on to really highlight the contrast of the improvements.
Thanks for watching!
This is amazing. Awesome tips my dude, and I appreciate breaking down the different elements into separate levels. Makes it so much easier to digest and appreciate
Thanks for taking the time to make this. It is a really good summary of tips presented in a concise manner.
Kudos for being the first video I've ever seen with working skylights. Amazing how after 400 hours and tons of videos, I'm still seeing new ideas!
Awesome work! I really like seeing the progression of each building being laid out beside one another.
Loved the video man, good job! I love the way you show your building "evolving" instead of doing a big detailed house from the beginning. Keep it up!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the format!
Great tips! Will definitely come back and refer to this video next playthrough
such a fantastic video, super well done. One of my favorite building tip guides with actually helpful info. I love how you narrated it too. Super informative, helpful and charming!
This is a brilliant way of breaking it down. I wish there was something similar when I started playing. Nice video!
These small, easy touches are amazing! Learned so much in this video, and for that you get a thumbs up sir. TYVM!!
Im barely at level 0 despite loving to build :/ I think more in terms of functionality when building, but I'm definately gonna try out some of those exterior tips. Looks amazing. Great video
Having a "purpose" to your buildings help in making them feel more alive and lived in. The trick is just to add some clutter around it to make it more interesting. Also in my opinion being able to slightly give up a little bit of efficiency can give you alot of room to work with.
Best building tips video I've ever seen, Learnt so many little tricks in each step (Which I'm alittle ashamed of since I'm a builder irl)
I didn't even look until right now at the end of the video but I thought I was watching a video with millions of views and a guy with 1000's of Subscribers. Awesome work!
After taking a break from Valheim and recently restarting after 2 years this was really great for my inspiration!
I'm looking forward to build in the weekend!
Thanks a lot for all the great vids!
New follower! :)
Nice, that makes me so happy to hear! I've taken a few breaks from the game as well, but I honestly feel like I'll constantly be returning to Valheim for the next 10 years. It's just that kind of game.
These tips are great, and I love the mini tutorials mixed about, I was trying to make overhangs and they looked awful, now I know how to do it right!
Best building video yet. Thank you for sharing all of these tips and ideas.
Very nicely done! I really liked a lot of the features you used. I may have to steal some of those for my builds. I love this game and this great community and all your ideas! Cheers!
I've got 2 years playing Valheim and I've built houses. These tips are common additions to home design and make houses IRL and in Valheim look like more than a dry box to rest your head. Good stuff!
Man listening to your voice , journeying through your cosy improving village was such a relief from all the stress and exhaustion of life. Thx
Damn, what a nice thing to say. Thank YOU
This is genuinely the best building tips video I've found from searching around. Awesome stuff!
Thanks, man. Appreciate that!
really good, well structured, informative video
Great build and great presentation, narration. Really like the asterix. Superb job
Absolutely amazing video on Valheim builds. Thank you very much! I feel so much more motivated to continue building my main base.
Great video with great explanations and examples. Thank you
I got this video randomly recommended to me and I really enjoyed it. Very helpful tips, I am definitely gonna use them in my world, thank you. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to your future content.
Aw thanks so much! Comments like these honestly have me excited to create future videos! I guess I have the youtube algorithm to thank for a lot of these views. Happy Thanksgiving, youtube
Very thorough! Great work!
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing
Love these tips. Very inspired for my next build in Valheim!
Some amazing building tips! Thank you for sharing!😃🤙
Excellent video! Thank you.

I'll be using all of these tips, amazing video this is very helpful!
"Add a happy little banner there"... Noticed profile picture... oh yea this guy knows his stuff. The Bob Ross of Valheim builds. Enjoyed this video a lot, you showed things I never would have thought of like the dormers and skylight that I will for sure add to my current builds. Thanks for the inspiration and will look forward to watching the rest of your videos. 👍
hahaha thanks, friend! Honored to have inspired the way other awesome builders have inspired me. Hoping to get another video like this one out soon. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Enjoyed this video a lot. Thanks man. Great tutorial.
This has been an incredible video to watch with wonderful building tips. I tend to spend most of my time in the Meadows since I dislike the raids. I have, what I consider to be, an interesting build and would greatly appreciate feedback to move beyond the "square" stage of wood builds.
Genuinely transformed the aesthetic of my space. Wanted to test it out right away I was able to create a simple, but stunning brook side base in meadows that I wouldn’t mind living in in real life. I was able to still accomplish some real depth and shapes even with a rectangular building because of the roof choices, and I haven’t been as happy with a build as I am with this one. Thank you!!!
Hell yeah! So happy to hear! Keep on building, friend 💪 Would love to see some screenshots.
Also, if you haven't yet, feel free to check out my part 2 video working with stone and dark wood!
Such a relaxing video to watch! Really like the tips and ideas! 👌
Kudos man, great stuff! :)
This is a great video! Would love to see a follow up where you try to use dark wood / core wood / stone.
Thanks so much! I'm currently working on a build and video exactly like this - stay tuned!
Nice vid mate, keep em coming :)
Man, I love your designs so much! It's all so absolutely lovely looking! Like I want to go there and live there!
Appreciate the effort you put into this. I'll be putting these tips to good use. Thank you!
Thanks so much! And I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I'd love to see what you come up with.
Now that I've got a small pool of subscribers, brainstorming ways to gather and interact with each other more. I'm thinking about doing some kind of contest or showcase of community submissions using some of the features and tips I talked about.
This video is excellent man tysm!
I loved this video. Great job!
Love the windowsills, and also the eaves on 3 - really nice - and not just on the front like most vids show but all the way round 👍 Fab video the way you've got all the levels and show us the progression. I've been building a long time in Valheim and absolutely love it and this vid is so full of tips, so thanks :)
Thanks so much! That means a lot coming from a seasoned veteran like yourself :)
Thanks for the video. Very well done.
Thank you! Those tips are useful. I enjoyed watching your tutorial!
This helped me a lot at building! Thank you
The spirit of Bob Ross is with us 🥺
Amazing work, thank you! ❤
Best building video I've seen so far
The sunken living room! Great idea!
This is one of those "teach a man to fish" videos. Very well done mate!
Nice video, it was was really helpful and I enjoyed it.
Awesome video! Found you on Reddit. Thank you for the tips.
So simple, so beautiful, tnx so much :)
Great ideas in this video thanks!
I hopped back into valheim after 1 year pause and was struggling with my new base. Your video is gold! Thank you for your help, my base will gladly accept the tips.
That makes me so happy to hear. Good luck on your build!
Just used the elevation difference in the interior of my build. good god that made a huge difference. such a good video 💯
some really cool ideas and handy tips, thank you :)
Just started playing, thanks for making this it helps so much
Welcome, Viking brother! I'm envious of anyone who gets to experience Valheim fresh. Happy building :)
Hey man, I really hope your sub count takes off, it's a crime that you don't have more views and subs. as many people have said in the comments already, this has got to be one of the most helpful and inspiring building videos on youtube. so much time, depth and care has been spent on this. You inspired me to immediately up my game, I just finished the finest piece of valheim building I've ever done with some of your tips. you're right, popping the roof off, getting that overhang... it's SO key.
Heck yeah, man! Your comment pleases Odin. So honored to have someone else find inspiration in something I created
you make it look SO GOOD with just regular wood! amazing
Thanks!
Lovely ideas :) Thanks kindly!
Simply brilliant 🙌
Love this video, and that you go slow through it and explain in a clear and engaging way 😄👏🏻 And no architect will kill you 😂
AND THE PLANT MOD! 😍 The vines!
Have no idea why this video doesn't have more views, one of the best Valheim videos I've ever watched 👏🏻 Thank you for your hard work on this!
@@Raven-fq4lb WOW - thank you so much for the kind words! It's a fairly new video, and it seems to be gaining traction. I've only shared it once on reddit, so I'm not entirely sure where the new views come from. If you don't mind me asking, how did you stumble upon it? I'm interested in understanding the youtube system so I can make more videos and get them shared with people who might find them helpful or enjoyable.
RE: Vines. I've heard a rumor that Iron Gate is going to make the vines and bushes buildable by default in the upcoming Mistlands release. Until then, PlantEverything is my best friend :)
In my latest playthrough I promised myself a big complex to live & work in with underground levels, towers, hidden passages etc. It was going to be huge. But I did similar to this video as.....
.... I just got to day 280 & I'm STILL at the first place I stumbled upon which was one of the small abandoned shacks in the meadows. I ended up adding a small roofed lean-to to cook & a 3x4 chicken coop. I somehow managed to cram the workbench & forge plus all the upgrade items for them within the shack & the lean-to area has the cauldron plus upgrades, the hearth, the black forge & gauldr plus their upgrades too.
Then the kilns/refineries spaced around the front of the structure with my portals down either side. All finished off with 6 hives on either side sat on the roof of the shack near the ground.
My eitr refinery is sat at the edge of my plot beyond the log & stone pile outside storage area & walled off in black marble & iron fences/gates & I have a small farm plot to the side of the shack (I too use plant everything & replant to speed things up).
Then the whole area is surrounded by double or triple deep stakes which have seen off most raids with little help needed from myself.
I still sleep on a straw bed as I have no room & can't be bothered upsizing 🤣
This video is godlike. really like the chill vibe dude
I appreciate that - thank you!
All of the custom built furniture is just as impressive! Bookshelf, couch and coffee table?!?!?
Thank you for the tips! My brain likes to default to basic box, but this helps a lot!
Oh this is awesome!!! Thank you!
You're very welcome! Glad you liked it.
Amazing! I definitely took some tips building new house.
Praise from the man himself! ❤
thanks for this video its super helpful
Honestly, this was a fantastic video Homitu! You describe everything, and how to make everything in such a simple concise way! I play a lot of games like Minecraft, Conan Exiles, Ark, and of course Valheim. I try so hard to be creative; I farm my mats, I equip my hammer, and suddenly I'm overwhelmed at all the pieces and parts I can make/use! "How can I use this? Where should I put that? What's this thing for?" But with this video, I watch and I think to myself, "Huh... it's really that easy?" But without people like you, it's not that easy! :D
Wow I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you
@@Homitu I can definitely relate with all of those points. As if it isn't obvious, I do suffer from builder's block very frequently. I can't tell you how many time's I put down four corners of a build, start building some walls, then tear them down because I hate it. Rinse and repeat five or six times, then just realize today isn't my day for creative building. More often then not, I'll end up putting down your "level one build: the box," just because I need four walls and a roof to survive the night and store my junk!
I also suffer (very badly) from "builder's atrophy." I play a lot of these games with my group of friends. We all played Valheim early in it's lifespan, not the very beginning, but we finished everything up to the Plains Biome with the flaming skeleton boss Yagluth. Unfortunately, as with a lot of games we play, once we beat all the content we drop the game until new stuff arrives. Well, I believe the "Wolf Caves" (for mountain biome) and the "Hearth and Home" updates came out (and maybe more?), however that wasn't enough to get my friends back into it. Now the Mistlands finally came out, sadly still none of my friends show any interest in playing... So I started a new world and char and am determined to do it on my own. (I should mention, our previous world doesn't exist anymore as we had a dedicated server, which my one friend stopped paying for. So I still have my personal character and gear... just no World or Base from our previous playthrough! T.T ) I'm currently turtling my way through content (while "focusing" on like 10 other games; I have video game ADD) I'm just now finishing the "bronze age," and looking for my Elder.
I'm desperately trying to be patient with myself, and try new things. I've been watching a lot of videos of "creative builds" and "Efficient builds" and all sorts of other videos for builds in Valheim. I really love taking inspiration and ideas from other creators and builders on youtube and reddit; but at the same time I don't want to copy builds one for one. I really want to create my own thing, I just have problems thinking of how to use all the pieces and put them together to make something completely different than what they were originally intended for. (Like how you use the ladder for a skylight, or roof overhang. That's so simple and genius!!!)
I fully intend on watching your other build videos, the only reason I haven't yet is because (of my lack of focus) I'm only in the black forest right now and the idea of making a building out of only regular old wood seemed really relevant to me! :D Speaking of which, I decided to make my base in the Black Forest this time... interesting idea. So. Many. Grey Dwarves. More Campfires! NO!!! Not enough!!!! MORE CAMPFIRES!!! Maybe I should build in the treetops, like you did... hmm...
I agree with the majority of the comments on this video! Keep making content! These videos are amazing! We'll all watch, and give you thumbs up! ^.^
@@amethystphoenix7127 There are many parallels between your Valheim history and mine! I also began on a shared server with a group of friends just weeks after the game came out. Well, really 2 separate groups of 5 all playing on the same server. Our 2 groups each kind of played separately, but we'd link up for boss fights and such. Was a TON of fun. I rapidly fell in love with building, so they'd often go off and adventure, and I'd hang back and "build up the base." Naturally but much to my chagrin, they would end up moving on to a new area and setting up a new base there...
Anyway, same conclusion to this story: we beat the game; friends stopped playing; shared server shut down; world file is lost forever. (You can save them forever, btw, and play in that world solo if you want. We just didn't think to do that at the time.)
Unlike you, I immediately began a solo run. I both wanted to experience the game solo and wanted to build my own base, using all the lessons I learned from our first base, which became insanely laggy, particularly due to the terraforming issue at the time. I, too, chose the black forest to build in, at a cool spot nestled right in between mountains, plains and swamps. I decided to do as little terraforming as possible and just work with the lay of the land, which was super fun. I also built a little market down by the water with different vendor stands in honor of each of my friends who stopped playing haha. (Ie. "Pill's Produce," "Mike's Hard Lemonade Stand", and "Fling's Fresh Fish")
I played this run in a kind of interesting way that I haven't heard other players do. I realized I freaking love all aspects of this game, both the progression and the building. When it comes to building, I often just want to build and not spend 45 hours just mining stone and chopping trees. Some people find that endlessly cathartic. I do as well in moderation, but, in the end, I often just want to freely build. However, I also deeply love the survival progression aspect of the game. Just spawning items or free-building in creative mode and demolishing things I built would result in an abundance of items I didn't manually collect on my own, ruining the survival aspect of the game. So I resolved to be faithful with my farming regarding all things survival. For example, I need to farm the copper and bronze to craft my weapons and armor. But when it came to building, I was going to allow myself to free build bronze sconces to my heart's content. If I was deep in the creative mindset, and I wanted to toss a sconce on the wall but was out of copper or resin, I didn't want to have to interrupt that flow by going out and farming. If I ever built something in creative mode and destroyed it, I would take those materials and dump them in an "off limits" chest. (This was before the obliterator existed, and either before I knew about the pressing "L" while in debugmode to remove all drops, or before that existed as an option.)
Annnyyway!... Keep going with your solo run! This game is nearly as amazing solo as it is with others. I have since played through 7 or 8 complete solo runs, including 1 successful "no death" run, and 3 complete additional group runs (my crew returned for H&H and again for Mistlands.) It's a bummer that your friends didn't get the urge to return to Valheim during those updates, but luckily there are lots of different ways to play and enjoy Valheim. You can toss mods into the mix to really change up your experience, ramp up the difficulty, add new progression to the game, or improve some major QOL things that had been driving you crazy. You can do runs where you're a complete nomad and migrate your full base to the new biome. You can build up one "main" base and always return to it. You can try to speed run, no death run, so many possibilities! Love this game (in case that wasn't obvious haha.)
Back to building specifically. I actually wouldn't rule out simply copying someone else's build if that sounds at all fun to you. I actually did that myself 3 times in the past, and it was a lot of fun! Early on in Valheim, I followed a builder named PilgrimzProject. He did some great step by step tutorials for some of his big builds. It was a lot of fun to build along with it, and it was also a valuable learning experience. It's akin to playing with Legos or K'nex and following the instruction booklet that comes with it to build the castle or the roller coaster.
Obviously don't pawn that build off as your own, but just do it for the fun of it if you're feeling stuck for a period. It was also a great learning experience. I got to intimately see how he was thinking about certain parts of the build that I never would have thought about. I got to learn some techniques that I otherwise wouldn't have learned. It leveled me up a little for sure, and better enabled me to work on my own creations.
I definitely get what you mean by wanting to create your own stuff though. If you're like me, when you look at stuff other people build, it can be very hard to just not build what you see them doing. It's kind of the same for writing, if you do any creative writing or even if you're just writing an article and you read a source that states something perfectly. After reading that perfect explanation, it can feel impossible to restate it in your own words. No matter how you rephrase it, it just sounds worse than the other person's perfect explanation!
I hovered in that kind of building purgatory for many months! I literally played this game consistently for a year and a half before I felt comfortable enough with my own builds to showcase them here lol. I get it.
Keep at it and hit me up if you ever want to bounce ideas off someone :)
thanx, great job. Nicely vids.
SMASHED that subscribe button! I'm gonna use almost every single thing you explained thanks so much!
Wooot - thanks man! Hope you're killing it in the building department!
Great video man hope you get the recognition you deserve
Thanks so much!
Damn that looks so fcking good. I would love to see a "how to build step by step" Video of the last House to easily follow it along!
This is clearly the best building video I found so far. Your tips and techniques are just golden. Im not a great builder but man, I gotta try this out! Also, would you like to record a little tutorial how to build this final house? It looks more than amazing
Thanks so much for the kind words! There's a great builder in all of us. I was hoping to show in this tutorial how you can make houses look really nice even with basic materials by using a bunch of little simple techniques and additions. You can totally do this!
I'd like to think that this video serves as a pretty decent tutorial on how to build this specific house. It really was just adding one new addition or feature at a time, starting with that basic rectangle. I'm not currently looking to do step by step tutorials. There are other amazing builders on youtube who have mastered that video making technique. I A) don't think I can do it as well as them, and B) want to try to differentiate myself from those vids by building off of this style for a bit. I'm hard at work on the next version of this type of video, so stay tuned!
That is indeed a gable fronted dormer! The prettiest of all dormers I’ll add
Phew, got it right. And I concur!
This. Is. Awesome! Thanks so much for this. I'm a noob player, so getting to see all the potential for building is so helpful! That mod for plants sounds cool, but will likely hold off until later in the game for that.
Glad you found it helpful! Man, I'm already nostalgic for the early days of discovering Valheim and how fun & simple the building system was. I remember seeing the potential even when I wasn't able to build anything good yet myself. Have fun!
Great voice, good phasing. Some nice tips, will use them.
The shields on the patio as a decoration was, actually, 500IQ.
What an informative video! Keep up the goodwork! I suggest you organize your channel by adding a profile picture so that many people would recognize you. Anyways thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the tip and the kind words! I'll definitely look into getting a profile picture made up. Might have to harass my pro graphic designer fiancé to help me out there ;)
