Amanda, yours was one of the first inspirational stories I found that motivated me & hubby to start carnivore 6/1/23. We are 52 & 53 respectively and have lost 70 (me) & 80(him) pounds, but so much more. Both reversed pre-diabetes, me off my only med (bp), him off all but bp, but is getting ready to stop that too. His sleep apnea is gone. My crippling menstrual cramps are gone, so are all our aches & pains we thought were from getting "old." I just bought a size 14 regular pair of jeans which I haven't fit into since my mid 20's and no longer have to worry about the "walk of shame" at our local theme park we have annual passes to. Our older rottweiler is benefitting too (he gained 20lbs in a year). I stopped paying for the gym and now, he's now my walking buddy. We go 40 minutes-1 hr every morning and I don't worry if it's still dark when we leave the house. Our story is proof your story is helping others. Thank you!

Yep, Amanda! I have NO off switch. Per your suggestion on a previous video, I charted all my intake yesterday. I wanted an honest assessment for my eating so I just ate my normal carnivore foods. I was SHOCKED that it was close to 3100 kcal! Geez Louise!!! So, today's a new day and we'll see how it goes.

I read this "study" it was really just an experiment where they look 10 adults had them exercise then suggest the meal that they could have from said exercise (this is CICO thinking but it was still interesting to read), every one of them suggested >500 calories MORE then what they had done. I cannot guess properly every time I do then I weight my food, im like "WELP I was a mile off" LOL. Amazing job, opening our eyes is the first step!!

I really appreciate you sharing your experiences with us. I have a tip to share; you can cook from frozen in an air fryer!
I too, flounder if my plan takes a wrong turn, and being able to throw a frozen steak in the air fryer and have a yummy supper 14 minutes later has been a game-changer for me.
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have heard SO many people say they love their air fryers!! We do not have one hehe, if I had more counter space I would 100% do it!

I keep my air fryer in a dining room chair at the end of the table. It’s out of the way, not on the table or the counter, and I just cook with it on the chair. 😊

Great job! I'm doing strict carnivore, and for exercise, I jump on my mini trampoline, do my yoga meditation, use my vibration plate, and go for a walk outside when the weather is nice. And my weight is coming along great. Down to 207 from 287.

Amanda, when you started your journey, did you have any idea how beautiful you were going to be? You're a knockout and you still have a little ways to go.
I can't tell you how much respect I have for you as you've embarked on this journey and stayed on it despite the vicissitudes of life. I would have crumbled when my first dog died.

I truly appreciate that! I thought I would shatter into a million pieces when Rosie died, I did and it took me some weeks to put myself back together. I could not have survived it without Scott. I know dog are just animals to some people but Rosie (and Ryu) were there through the hardest times in my life and never judged me. The loved me beyond what I could have ever understood, its been a year on the 21st of this month since Rosies been gone and i still think and say goodnight to her every single night along with Ryu now. Scott reminded me, yes I did loser her but I had 3 others that still needed me

I’m learning how to cook meat using Siri. I pulled out my Lugol’s. No artificial sweeteners due to allergies. I live in Alaska in southeast where we eat a lot of seafood. Salmon, shrimp, crab and halibut with occasional other types of fish. Thank you for recommending food tracking with calorie attention. I have been stalled for 6 months..with slow creep up 5 pounds. Recently increased nature trail hike to two laps. I’m not sure the length but think it’s a mile…so two miles.

Amanda your hair looks great! After losing 22 lbs on Carnivore I stalled for about 2 months so decided to do an 8 day egg fast. I had scrambled w/butter, cheese omelettes, chaffels made w/egg whites & cheese, egg salad, deviled eggs, egg drop soup & egg/cream cheese pancakes. Much to my surprise I lost 9 lbs. The egg fast was as much to challenge myself mentally as well as to restart my loss. I started a habit of walking a minimum of 1 hr/5 miles a day and after looking at my calendar it’s been 7 months……tiny habits!

You are now where I started July 22. I got down to 188 by May 23. Then I had a retinal detachment and other subsequent eye surgeries and on prednisolone and have been stalled since...only saving grace is I have not gained..until corneal edema and macular edema resolve I don't have any idea when weight Loss will resume but I still stay the course with carnivore for all of the healing aspects.

I had a similar thing happen with a roast this week. I put it in the Instant Pot before I left, and when I got back it was showing a "food burn" message. So I put it back in on the slow cook setting and went out to grab a couple of roast chickens. I know there were probably some carbs in it, no idea what they put on the skin, but it was a much better plan than I might have done in the past (ahem, pizza...)

I have a theory on weight loss stalls on carnivore …. It seems like after a month or 2 weeks figure out what becomes our “favorite “ carnivore meals aka Pork rinds cereal with raw milk and cheese chips like you mentioned before. Thank you Amanda for being REAL and talking about how much we eat… btw I think it’s not just carnivore it’s with all of our different diets however when it comes to carnivore “cheat meals” they can be extremely calorie dense aka pizza from Costco with hot dogs … so yummy but so energy dense. Thank you Thank you for being REAL

    • @CarnivorousMe1

100% its with any type of diet (I mean diet as what is our normal dietary intake not "im going to do the 3 months to lose weight fast"). Even on keto is so simple to stop losing weight, I experienced this as well! Cheat meals were what derailed me for the past 9 months, it just crazy how what I thought was a small thing here and there really sabotaged me!

    • @nataliajimenez1870

It's also that our body doesn't like to be in a catabolic state (which losing weight is) for a long period of time and it reduces our metabolism to match our energy intake. That's why calorie restricted diets don't work for most people in the long term. What I found works best for me is to do alternate day fasting (I just fast 2 or 3 days of the week) and then make sure that I consume enough protein/fat in the rest of the days in 2 or 3 meals. This strategy has worked much better for me than doing OMAD every day. By not doing the same thing every day of the week and not fasting too much, your body starts thinking that you are consuming enough energy to keep a higher metabolism. Also consuming dairy as just a rare treat has been positive as well

Well Amanda, you have again inspired me. When I first was looking into the Carnivore Diet I came across your channel. I watched your first video and then the subsequent ones.. I was binging on them like I used to binge on potato chips. I started Carnivore June 2023 and I quickly lost 30 of the 40 lbs I gained during Covid... and then I stalled, as you stalled (though granted you had lost over 100 lbs so not exactly the same). I was cheating, just little cheats that I said didn't matter, or didn't count.... then I watched this video and decided that I too needed to recommit to this Carnivore life style... so I have begun eating Beef, Butter, and Bacon. And I have started listening to my body and waiting until I am truly hungry before eating... and then eating until comfortably stuffed.... and I have lost 10 lbs in the 4 days since you posted this. I have lost my 40 lbs of covid weight. This was my first big milestone I had set for myself. My next is another 40 which will bring me to my weight of my late teens through 30. After that I will see how I feel and I may set another goal after that. My goal is truly about health, not based on getting to a certain size but I am a mature momma to 3 adopted children and I want to be not only around for them but to be active and engaged with them as they grow and to have the energy that I need to do just that. So thank you for sharing your journey with us.

My way of losing weight is eating 10 egg yolks a day. I separate the eggs and give the egg whites to outdoor dogs to supplement their food with extra fat and protein. The egg whites absorb all the bacon grease. 6 egg yolks for breakfast, sometimes I'll throw in 4 egg yolks for my dinner. I must have lost 20 pounds eating 6 to 10 egg yolks daily for 30 days.

    • @CarnivorousMe1

The most eggs that I ever had in one day was a dozen. It's either because I had 6 egg yolks with liver for dinner or 6 egg yolks with a steak for dinner. One way or another, I consume a lot of cholesterol for a 275 pound man. I could have been 290 about a month ago. I don't know.

Hi Amanda. I found you last September and you inspired me to start. It was easy as I listened to you a lot. I just love your compassionate and humble approach. I lost 2 dress sizes and felt great. However, I lost the flow last Christmas, regained the weight and felt miserable! Of course I stopped looking at carnivore utubes! This morning you popped up again , a blessing! Now I feel to start again. My only worry is that I have to go out and mix with people and I,m very afraid of the diarrhea I had the first time, sudden and uncontrollable for a couple of weeks. Wondering if I have to go through that again? Do you have any advice or do I have to stay cloistered for 2 weeks. Thank you so much for any support. So grateful you are still on u tube..... Blessings, Tricia in France....🥰

Can't tell you how much I needed this video right now. I took a deep dive after dealing with some family issues at the end of last year and it has taken me the past few months to get my wherewithal back. I am going to check into the Tiny Habits and I'm also realizing I need to back off the fats and pay attention to energy expenditure :) I am weighing my food and using the Chronometer app after your last few videos and I'm really seeing that I was going way over what my body needed calorie wise, yes I said it but I've been doing Carnivore for almost 3 years now and not successfully but that being said I have learned so much and know my body has and is on a healing journey. Thanks again. look forward to your check-in videos even when you platau or whatever we keep keeping on...
