BEFORE the fall God gave man grains (seeds) from herbs and fruits from trees. (Gen 1:29). AFTER man fell, God gave man animals eat but there must be shedding blood Gen 9:3 (Without shedding of blood is no remission of Sins Heb 9:22 - pointing to the need of Jesus as savior today). In the New Heaven and new earth Rev 21,22, redeemed man shall eat only fruits again but the leaves of the tree of life shall be for healing - since there will be no more curse and deaths. (Even animals won’t die man to eat then.)

I had been morbidly obese (topping out at 405lbs in 2021) until I went to Carnivore in 2022. Simultaneously, I went off of caffeine, and started power walking 30+ miles a week. In less than 11 months, I lost 175lbs and I am still in the best shape of my life. Alongside my weight loss, I have noticed a near elimination of my depression, my anxiety, and chronic overthinking. It has been difficult, but I feel so much better. I will never give up on me.
Carnivore for 8 months. I’m not going back to the old lifestyle. This new lifestyle fixes insulin resistance. Period. Once the insulin resistance is fixed and you have insulin sensitivity you also fix the symptoms like obesity, high blood pressure, t2d, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, dementia. If you eat meat, you are not hungry and you are not munching every 2 hours on little crackers, fries, chips, etc.
Good for you.. If I thought eating that way would prevent death and body deterioration, I might try it.. But eating is part of life's pleasure. For your body, I'm so glad it works.
Former 700+ lbs, failed many diets and lapband surgery. I found carnivore 2yrs 8 mths ago and down to 270 lbs. Still on my journey but I feel amazing and finally have my life back. Carnivore gave me the "OFF SWITCH" I never had. I will never go back Xx
This brings a tear to my eye. I am so happy for you. I had a similar experience but not a profound as yours. I feel the same way that this way of eating saved my life and gave it back to me and my family. So proud of you. Keep up the good fight.
I have an autoimmune disease. Carnivore has been the best thing that I could have done. Lost weight. Energy levels are close to normal. Pain is greatly reduced. I'm not giving up on it. Carnivore for ever!
Try eat RAW meat. Why to destroy some nutrients, enzymes and vitamins by heat. Maybe you wil be surprised. If you want eat nutrition dense food on max.
I have been carnivore 3 years. Cured my IBS. I have occasionally added one veggie back at a time to asses the results. Every time I have an IBS flare. I am done with experimenting. I think that the nutrients in veggies that are suppsosedly missing from muscle meat are found in organ meats without all the anti nutrients.
@@MrKitty4236 Good to know but a few organs cannot hurt IMO. However, they should not be overdone or that could cause problems with excessive nutrients.
Upwards of two years eating only meat, eggs, and fresh cream...I will never go back to any other way of eating. MY BODY DOES NOT WANT CARBS, FIBER, SEED OILS, OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN ANIMAL PRODUCTS. Also, they tell me that being in ketosis is vital for optimal human health. Consuming carbs immediately halts ketosis.
"Bartle cycle". Every higher glucose above gluconeogenesis baseline or higher insulin afterwards is telling your body to store fat. Insulin is master hormone influencing around 100 processes in your body. PCOS, skin problems, damaged veins etc. All caused by higher glucose dont belongs to blood. Fructose, sugar, starch, even fiber, all carbs ending as higher glucose in blood. People are only animals eating carbs every day, all day long. Thats the only one problem, in nature exists no other animal eating carbs every day. Look at the shelf in the store - sugar avalanche, all sweet enough to sell. Addictive, no fat (gives taste), lot of sugar instead and everything than taste the same. People dont know today taste of real foods, only sweet taste, all is more or less sweet.
I use cream from a cow, @@steve00alt70. Fresh from a market place. Speaking of cats, our cats don't like their ground beef to be fatty, they like it lean. we feed them raw ground beef and raw eggs.
For real ...... iam 90% I eat some plants such as onion ,garlic, etc I drink coffee and always will btw ! Lol!! I also eat peanut butter time to time. I do what my body tells me to do not what anyone says I should do. I see alot of carnivores act like frickin' vegans .....preachy and cult like. 63 male and carnivore for 3 months. From 160 lbs. to 135 lbs. and still going. Ripped abs and sinewy musculature visible. I'm in the best shape of my life, without question.
I’ve been on carnivore for 3 months and no alcohol for 4. I’m 58 and have never felt better. Cravings have gone away. Lost 20 lbs and all menopause symptoms are gone! My energy is through the roof, no brain fog and joy is hard to contain at times. My joint pain continues to improve, skin is looking healthier and my muscles are getting stronger. I told myself I would commit to this for 90 days but I can’t go back to the ASD. What’s interesting is what got me on this path initially was listening to Max Lugavere and Jordan Peterson talking about dementia and then I started listening to Drs like Anthony Chaffee, Ken Berry and others. Wow, we have been lied to for a long time and I thank God for these people who are sharing truth. I would say to those who are skeptical, give it a try. So far everything I have listened to is my reality.
Until you have a heart attack or stroke as many have on the carnivore diet from eating excessive fatty meats. Eliminating processed foods is what helps most people. It's not the meat, it's that you've given up all the other garbage.
@@catsrus2890 have you listened to any of the Drs who highly recommend a carnivore diet? Some of them are orthopedic, heart and other MDs. I’m just at the beginning of my learning journey so I’m not in a position to prove anything other than to share my personal experience with how I feel. I’ve also listened to people who have been doing this for years and they are still healthy and thriving. People have been battling health ailments for so long, they don’t know what it’s like to feel well. This is a good video that addresses what you commented. ua-cam.com/video/D_qQDF7GQ7Q/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Max mentions magnesium. I’ve been carnivore 3 years and have blood work once a year. My magnesium and potassium levels are high normal despite not having foods that people think of as having those.
Funny thing is now with my high fat/protein/ zero carb diet, still using my tracker (cronometer) I'm very close or hitting my potassium daily requirement! Before my lion-like diet, I used to eat loads of taters and beans to hit my potassium...
@@33MattyIce__ not sure it has that much. I did hear one of the doctors, maybe Dr Chaffee, say that without eating all the garbage the body is able to use the minerals it does get more efficiently and actually needs less. The RDA applies to people eating the SAD and maybe it isn’t applicable for those on carnivore.
I’ve been on it for two years. I’m a lifetime cancer patient that gets bloodwork every 3 months. My bloodwork is perfect. I don’t buy that you don’t get the nutrients the body needs. I eat steak twice a day.
I'm with Dr. Anthony Chaffee here, we are a human species and such diet is a one size fits all. Yes, there can be better tolerance on some individuals on different foods but that does not make it optimal. Meat is the way to go, if you want and can add more stuff its up to you, doesn't change the fact that meat its the proper human diet.
You really summed up my feelings since I have started the Carnivore diet. It really made this 71 years old woman sit up and say ,wow, I feel amazing 9 months in. Yet, I find it very hard to sustain, for if I add onions or salsa to my boring eggs, I feel guilty. And my body quickly can revert back to feeling awful if I cheat even a little. Mentally I am better in many ways, but I still feel trapped , at times. Still willing to keep trying to stay on it for a longer period, because medicine doesn't cut it for me.
Hi Susan, I can relate to what you are talking about. Please do keep in mind when you eat something, that the mind plays a big role in how we feel, what symptoms we experience and what bodily reactions we experience. When you experience stress/ a negative emotional response like guilt or fear your mind will most likely interpret this as threat/ danger and the body will react accordingly. This has been studied a great deal. I’m currently recovering from 2 decades of debilitating chronic pain and fatigue with brain retraining where we REWIRE patterns like this with messages of safety to the brain (instead of messages of danger) surrounding food and other possible triggers.
Hey Susan!!! Funny… I’m 71, 9 months carnivore and promised myself to stay committed for a year. Not only did my gut issues diminish, but many other issues that I didn’t think were possible to get rid of, actually disappeared. Nobody eats more than I do because I love to eat like a truck driver, and I’ve always been a volume eater that’s why this diet is so good for me.I grew up on the standard American diet and being Italian, pasta was my go to food and I could eat a lot of it one sitting which contributed to The damage in my body. I hope you continue to find advantages to this way of eating and what I can tell you is when I see somebody eating that big old beautiful bowl of pasta I no longer look at it is delicious. What I do see is, diarrhea, bloatjng, inactivity for a couple of days till I get rid of it. I don’t ever want to feel like that again and when I see these foods, I immediately think of pain and I won’t go there so maybe it’s just a matter of changing your mindset when you think these foods that they equal pain… Hope this helps and just so you know….this 71 year old lady is cheering for you. !!!❤️✌🏼
I have been on an only beef diet for 30 plus days…I didn’t have a weight problem or any health issues. I am completely enjoying this diet. I might at some point add other things…but for now I am truly enjoying this experience.
So don’t agree with the plant base concepts. Many of the foods he list is high in oxalates. Red meat does give us what the human needs nutritionally. In the beginning of my journey I needed to add electrolytes but now not only occasionally. He needs a better understanding overall and I will stay carnivore.
My wife and I have done primarily carnivore for about 6 months. I have had 2 heart attacks in the past 9 years. I'm 66 years old. The results of a restricted diet have been profound! I have never been obese, but discovered very quickly after commencing a ketogenic diet that I had about 50 pounds of visceral fat that disappeared in 3 months, taking me from 185 to 132 pounds. My blood panels are extraordinary! Feel great! My wife, on the other hand, has had a real mixed bag of results. For context, she was 54 yrs old - T1 diabetic for 40 years; thyroid gland removed; and Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. There was a significant benefit with keto in the first 6 months, but she discovered food groups, like dairy, had to be eliminated. She then shifted to Dr. Terry Wahls diet protocol for MS. Saw some benefits, but still heaps of deficits. She then cut down to carnivore, and while she felt significant benefits her biggest concern is her kidney function. Very difficult to find a doctor, even a nephrologist, that knows what tests to run for a complex patient, on an unusual diet. Any other carnivores out there experiencing kidney pain and frothy urine?
I'm five months on carnivore. I have IGA nephritis, and have had several types of cancer. My urine has always had high amounts of protein/blood. It is very foamy, but always is. I have kidney pain under most diets. But, my first nephrologist told me I would be on dialysis in three years, and dead in five. That was 20 years ago. My weight on "healthy foods" crept up to 293. I'm 246 five months later. Stroke, kidney, cancer, etc MIGHT kill me, but obesity WILL kill me. Obesity is at the heart of most other disease.
Ketones will produce frothy urine, 6 months is not a lot of time to heal after eating the incorrect diet for probably many years, I have been very strict carnivore for 14 months and still healing the damage done through the lies we have told that said I feel 18 years younger and have totally transformed my body, off all meds and just striving, you may need more time to heal but you are definitely on the right proper human diet and will give you the best chance to heal, wish you all the best. 😊😊
Your wife has a lot going against her. I’m 68, after 40 years of overeating the SAD diet with lots of junk food, found myself 100lbs overweight & overproducing white blood cells, & high calcium in my blood. Went on the Carnivore diet 14 months ago. As a female I’ve only lost 35 lbs but my white cells & calcium score calmed down, why I’m telling you this is because a recent lab test last week my kidneys are having trouble filtering not critical but 50% there. Dr wants to see me so I made appt a month from now: I’m going to try to heal with 1/2 fresh squeeze lemon juice with plain water every morning an hour before anything else. The critic acid in the lemon is known & proven (with my mother) to dissolve kidney stones. Assuming my calcium problem has collected in my kidneys I’m giving it a try.
Did she ever get tested for Thal trait (Thalassemia trait)? Doctors don't recognize it as a disease, but a restrictive diet with iron heavy food would definitely cause iron overload.
Interesting. Carnivore 5 months now and 18months using a AquaCure50 'brownsgas' (h2) machine. ONLY consuming distilled water + added electrolytes. Im 60. AC50 cure my frozen shoulder in 3 months. Before, Doc suggested shoulder replacement. I have 100% full movement and power again. During the AC50 use (inhaling +drinking) I discovered Ive bladder stones (oxolate/calcium) and a congenital mega ureter! Stones removed 6 months ago, rejected Dr idiot dietry advice, and life destroying prostate procedure, to go full carnivore. So far lost 10kg, down to near my ideal weight. Kidney and LUTS performance improved. I used to sweat a lot from when I was a teen, after stones removed I hardly sweat at all. Peterson is right about salmon, it was the same for me. I enjoy most beef, lamb, pork with clean healthy water.
It’s hard to believe that I need vegetables when since I’ve given them up, I have zero stomach aches, and before when I was eating vegetables, I had a stomachache every single day of my life.
I don’t think anyone can truly understand the benefits unless they have issues like most of us which Carnivore has helped/benefited from It just works for me - it’s a healthier, stronger life free from medication and discomfort
I eat about 90% animal products and a few veggies and fruits here and there. I don’t ever spiral. And biologically speaking, a hyper carnivore derives energy from 70% meat or more. It’s that simple. Humans can derive energy from both fat and carbs so we are omnivores.
No Cons? Even Shawn Baker says he doesn't know what the long term effects of this diet are. Its an experiment, there is zero science or research behind it. Humans have been omnivores for hundreds of thousands of years, its why we dominate this planet, because we can eat such a wide range of stuff. Get back to us when you've been on it 20, 30, 40 years. We've also been eating fibre for our entire evolution, now we just don't need it apparently, just because some idiot influencers say so when a mountain research says we do? No thanks.
Maxola doesnt get the fact that the issue is the species appropriate diet for humans. My horses' species appropriate diet : oat hay, pasture grass, alfalfa.🍎🍏🥕🍏🥕 Pandas.... Bamboo Humans...meat
I have been on carnivore for 6 months. I have lost almost 70 pounds. My autoimmune disorder is in remission and my brain fog is mostly gone. I actually do things again. I enjoy working around the house and spend far far less time online. all from changing my diet. I only started it for the autoimmune I never expected so many other benefits. I eat beef and eggs and sometimes cheat with bacon or chicken. however too much pork causes small relapses and my guts go to hell again. So I only eat bacon once or twice a month.
Well, it's simple to answer why not start adding some carbs to the carnivore diet, isn't it? 1. Why? For what particular reason, if you feel well and beyond that? 2. Moreover, beef and liver and eggs have enough nutrients- vitamins and minerals-, much more than rice or an apple would ever have. 3. Carbs are the reason people start the elimination diet, because they feel really bad with carbs in the first place. So why would I wish poison myself again? 4. As soon as you eat carbs, you don't have the state of ketosis so your body looks again for easy glucose instead of working hard and making it itself. And this happens pretty quickly. So why change what works so well for no benefit? I mean, we are no poor people who aren't allowed to eat carbs, really not. We have delicious beef, and some also eat butter, chicken, fish and eggs. Keto allows green leaves and some vegetables. It's a good healthy lifestyle, no way I'd go back for rice or noodles or cakes on my free will!
Shawn is breaking world records, but he should add carbs back???? HUH?! Why? You know, breaking a world record isn't easy, and if he's doing it without carbs, then I see no reason to add them. Clearly, he's not lacking energy, so there really isn't a reason to add carbs to the his diet.
I been doing this carnivore diet for several weeks now. In my opinion, the reason I am confident that I have a fake food chemical addiction is because I have been feeling like garbage, I've been feeling week, my heart races, I feel lethargic, I feel lightheaded and dizzy and I believe that this is a withdrawal of carb and sugar and high fructose corn syrup addiction
Likely the "keto flu". Takes your cells some time to adapt apparently and going cold turkey on carbs can be unpleasant. Hang in there though as once your body adapts you'll likely have more energy and feel better than before.

Another daughter had insomnia, depression, anxiety, couldn’t get out of bed. Went keto…problems nearly gone.
it’s funny that guy was doing everything he could to not admit that a straight carnivore diet can be a long term healthy choice. Jordan has been on it for five years, his daughter as king of not longer, I’ve been on it for over a year and a half. Losing weight is a side effect, it’s not the main reason to eat carnivore, the health benefits are why you should do it. Especially if you’ve tried everything else….how has that worked out for ya?
@@dariuskrzempek5899 yeah, I tried a plant based diet and it sucked. I hardly lost any weight, I was always eating because I was always hungry, my energy level was way low, it was just a terrible experience. I was following it very strict. There are a ton of supplements you have to take when on a vegan diet, don’t deny it either, you can get most of the vitamins and minerals you need to live healthy from just eating plants. You also crave meat 🥩 that’s why vegan recipes are always adding ingredients that gives that umami taste to your food so you can still get that meat taste your body is craving. The reason your body is craving the umami flavor is because it’s starving for the vitamins and nutrients that it’s missing out on from the actual meat you are not eating. I’m not one that says you can’t eat vegetables on a carnivore diet, I still like some asparagus and a few other choice vegetables, but if you aren’t eating good natural animal fat and meat protein you are doing damage to your body, mind and overall health.
MY PERSONAL FOODS that work for me I just eat when I'm hungry which isn't often. Beef mince, eye fillet, ribeye, lamb high-quality salt, salmon, seafood, eggs, bacon, butter, cheese. Dates, figs, and berries fruits are limited. full cream milk, filtered water in abundance, herbal teas& 1 Coffee per day using the milk, I do have asparagus, green beans & broccolini. No dressings or any artificial flavorings. But I do add magnesium, and I do not count calories or macros I also eat 1-2 meals per day and it's in a window of 16-8. I'm a senior and try to walk 10k plus steps per day. I also dropped the 12kg I wanted over 3 months and love this new way of life.
I love how he says there's some sort of hidden benefits of plants, then proceeds to name exactly ZERO of them, then starts talking about white rice as if there's some value in sugar + arsenic flowing through your veins. These so called "benefits" of plants are misleading at best and a lie at worst. Nutrition is a hat, all humans can eat a proper human diet, just like all other animals on this planet. No other animal eats outside of their diet in nature, and when they do they get the SAME DISEASES HUMANS DO. Humans eat meat, we cannot detoxify plants in our gut microbiome. All plants come with toxins, all benefits found in plants are found in meat without the toxins. Jordan is being nice and doesn't know enough to shut down Max dancing around the narrative he's spinning. Max believes the terrible conclusions and opinions that have come about in the last 150 years, where scientists barely have discovered hormones, cellular pathways, and biology. Our biggest issue is we came to these conclusions BEFORE we discovered everything in the human body, nature, and hard sciences about physiology. We are still discovering things in the human body and have more to learn STILL. Acting like we KNOW everything is our biggest problem. What we do know is that scientist have jumped to conclusions about way too many things in the past and have been proven wrong over and over again. Scientists are in a rush to discover the next big thing and win prizes and praise for their work. They need to make money and prove themselves in a way that makes the public think they must be right, as they are the experts. If you want to know if carnivore is good for you, don't ask a Dr. Do your own N=1 experiment and make up your own mind about it.
We are not carnivores, we are omnivores. We have been omnivores for hundreds of thousands of years and surviving on a variety of plants and animals since we evolved as a species. There is zero long term evidence to support the long term effects of either extreme eg 100% vegan or 100% carnivore. Carnivore works to reverse disease as an elimination diet and consequently by reducing calories (excess calories, whatever the diet, is the the number one cause of disease today). If you choose one of the extreme diets over the long term -all plants or all meat- you are conducting an unproven experiment with your health. The way carnivores attack plants and vice versa is just pathetic.
@@robertbrown6531 you're just uninformed. We are hyper carnivores. The radio isotope testing proves this. Our gut length proves this. Our stomach ph proves this. There is hard science showing we are hyper carnivores.
@@mattunwin Humans are considered omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals. Their teeth, digestive systems, and other characteristics are a mix of those found in both herbivores and carnivores. For the majority of our evolution we were hunter-gatherers. The majority of scientists agree on this. Carnivores are deluded, eat only meat if that's what you want but stop trying to convert the rest of us to your cause. Carnivores are like religious fundamentalists, just like some vegans. Although ethically and morally vegans win hands down, carnivores don't seem bothered by how much they kill and how much suffering goes on in modern farming and whether so much meat in the diet is actually necessary. By the way all these benefits of a carnivore diet, you can get the same benefits water fasting for a week or two. True North health centre have fasted tens of thousands of people to health for decades.
@@robertbrown6531 The only religious fundamentalist here is you. No one is trying to convert anyone. I am just explaining the truth. Eat all the garbage you want. Teeth have nothing to do with who is and isn't a carnivore. Science isn't a consensus, what the majority believes does not dictate truth. Nutrition isn't about ethics or morality. You lost the plot. Stable isotope testing shows we were carnivores. You can believe all you want that humans ate a lot of plants, but the data shows otherwise. Fasting does give you health befits. But it also will eventually kill you. What kind of plants did we eat evolving during the ice age? Most of our evolution was during a time when there were very little plants available, and ZERO of the plants we eat today we available. You are stuck with the information that's been proven wrong already. But again, eat whatever you want.
@@robertbrown6531 Humans 'can' eat plants and extract calories from them, as dogs and big cats 'can' too, but can't get many nutrients from them. But our digestive system is 100% carnivore. Ultra acidic stomach (that of a scavanger), short intestine tract, a cecum so shriveled it's useless. This why for optimum health, cut the plants to a minimum.
8:11 he’s not trying to break records. He IS breaking records. He doesn’t need “glycogen in the tank”. Try it for six weeks brother, you’ll never look back.
Speaking only for myself and my own biology, RED MEAT is the answer... as in RED MEAT... as in good BEEF steaks... and, therefore, (no pork or chicken or eggs or dairy products-- I am allergic to eggs and dairy!!) .... So, I think we need to re-name this thing to "RED MEAT DIET"-- (and forget about the word carnivore) (and establish just the red meat only basis as the baseline)
I'va watched hundreds of interviews on carnivore... Pretty much everyone that was on keto before carnivore say they feel way better on carnivore... So why add back things that were not optimal to start with?
North American Indians harvested corn, beans, squash, wild fruits and herbs, wild greens, nuts and meats. Inuit are an exception because so little grows in that climate and their life expectancy has never been great.
I started on it for the first time just a few weeks ago. I am one of those people with numerous autoimmune disorders, which I was shocked by, because i was highly athletic and I ate what was supposedly the "ideal diet", the Mediterranean diet. Since going straight carnivore, my eyesight has improved substantially, I am less stressed and more alert. I lost the puffiness and bloating I acquired over the past 2 years. Best of all, my skin stopped peeling off. That's what drove me to try it. I never intended to stay on it. One thing I am concerned about is just common sense survival. I think the less things you CAN eat, the more vulnerable you are in the case of a shortage or extreme price hike. Also, there are clear benefits to plants. I'll be on this diet for a while, because the difference is night and day. I was healthy for most of my adult life, but started getting so tired I could barely function. I have Hashimoto's thyroid disease , which is inherited ( diagnosed quite late) and I got an extreme case of Hyperparathyroidism , which led to hospitalization and surgery. My body is eating my organs, essentially. All of that happened , quite suddenly, while I was at an ideal BMI and was running ultra marathons. To make it more complicated, i have thalessemia trait. That isn't a disease, but it means I must be careful not to get iron overload. This would be impossible if I stayed on red meat exclusively. So, my plan is to introduce vegetables sort of like medicine..in tiny amounts. I also plan to get into sprouting and fermenting quite seriously. Hopefully I can find some fermented and sprouted vegetables that I can add back in.
@@justanother240 Sadly, I think you're right. I've switched to hiking . I've heard that it also helps to expose yourself to different natural environments to diversify your microbiome, so I've been ..not really foraging, but kind of picking up one interesting thing each time to research and add some interest and inspiration. I feel like foraging and cultivating plants may have been what turned them against us lol. Maybe I can befriend the plants again, so they won't keep attacking me.
@@justanother240 Yes, but how permeable are we? I think that is the ultimate question. Perhaps I made myself vulnerable through a life of imbalance. The story looked good on paper...in our unbalanced world. I was an "ultra" marathoner. I ate "power" foods. But it was a life of addiction and extremes. I was overindulging instead of exploring and experiencing. From a survival perspective, this was self-sabotage. Now the things I overindulged in (vegetables) have become toxins. I suspect the same thing will occur with meat, eventually. That's why my objective is balance, if it can ever be achieved. Hopefully , through a variety of exposures in small doses, one can get there, eventually.
@@justanother240 By the way, (coincidentally?) I was thinking about what you just said yesterday, when I was walking in the bad part of city and passed what i am pretty sure (based on the smell) was human defecation in a bush. lmao
Cruciferous veges are all bred from one plant. One plant we likely never ate, or much of. The only thing they ever do for me is gas, bloating and thyroid issues. My body is so happy without cruciferous veges.
He says there’s no one size fits all diet for humans. But if that is true, we are the only species known where that would be the case, which makes Me doubt this. So for instance even dogs, which come in a wide variety of breeds, still generally just need the same basic diet pattern, with only a few minimal differences for some breeds. I guess the counter here is there’s a lot of things that only humans do, but it’s something to think about. The trend of life on earth suggests that humans too have a one size fits all ideal diet.
He was just spewing the standard nonsense because he was afraid of offending people. We know our diet is supposed to be 80%+ meat and it's only not at 100% because ancient humans couldn't always hunt successfully.
@@justanother240 I do think the fact that carnivores have a really hard time holding onto electrolytes and things tells us that 100% meat for ancient doesn’t make sense either. Tubers were available all year in most the world. 80/20 probably did actually have a purpose to it.
@@Eye_of_Horus Eat OMAD, get an insulin bump and hold onto electrolites. Most of us on carnivore are not used to or unable to eat once a day because our gut is damaged and our gallbladder isnt properly functioning, so a common complaint is losing electrolites, fatigue, cramped muscles, etc. None of this negates the fact that our diet is meant to be made up of meat.
While starches might increase glycogen a bit. Humans can make plenty of glycogen for all but the most intense and prolonged aerobic activities. Tim Noakes has addressed this.
Even then, it seems the body can produce enough. There was an experiment done on carb-adapted and fat-adapted athletes, and it found the fat-adapted replenished their glycogen faster than the carb-adapted.
@richardfeuille1212 Yes, it's indeed surprising, but I guess it can make sense. I'm afraid I don't know the name of the study, although I've heard it mentioned a couple of times. It was done by the leading sports scientists in the world.
I stopped eating wheat and sugar 4 years ago and it cleared my skin problems plus I experienced lots of other mental and physical health benefits. Few months ago my skin issues started coming back and 3 weeks ago I decided to cut out all vegs. Within four days my skin cleared up and I am already noticing positive changes in my body composition despite of no changes in weight. My GI never felt calmer and it’s wonderful thing not to be bloated. I used to take magnesium for leg cramps, they also disappeared and I stopped wasting money on this supplement. Can’t wait to see what else happens. Carnivore is magic…
Carnivore got rid of my joint pain that I suffered with for 7 years. The pain was gone in 2 weeks after beginning the diet. I've had so many other issues that were vastly improved that it's really tough not to be Dogmatic about the carnivore diet. I try to spread the message and everyone that has tried it that I have influenced has become believers as well but 99.999 percent of people I tell to try it are just annoyed by me in mentioning it and my coworkers are annoyed in watching me eat meat and eggs at lunchtime.
The FASTER study demonstrated that if you are very fat adapted 18-24 months, your performance is not enhanced by carbs and you refill glycogen just as fast as when you were a carb burnner.
I dont agree with this host. He doesn’t understand carbohydrate addiction and that some people are ultra sensitive to carbohydrates. Please leave people alone. If the diet works for them, then let them do it. I feel it’s much safer to eat meat than to take a stew of medications like the current medical model promotes.
Meat has enough magnesium your body needs. No need to consume fiber since humans cannot digest it. Humans do not need carbs for any reason so why bother? The body makes all the carbs/sugars it needs as needed without outside help.
Grandfather died at 105 full Omnivore diet, super healthy exept.his last year. Was never obese or any health issues. He moved and worked out everyday. The reason your loosing 70 to 150 lbs on carnivore is because your the problem. How does one loose 70 fing pounds... why did you stack that up in the first place ? You have to over eat, be sedentary, abuse sugars and carbs etc. People who got sick and overweight sgould not be bragging about loosing weight on carnivore, youd loose it on ANY testrictive diet.... if you have a medical issue, ok its a diet to will allow you yo pinpoint what irritates you by inteoducing things one at a time and seeing hownit acts up.
At 10:50, he described exactly how my oldest daughter has been raised, yet she has multiple chronic health issues that leave her debilitatively exhausted most of the time. It seems that even one lifetime of proper living isn't enough to overcome the 150 years of nutritional and bacterial deformation that she inherited.
I think some added stress to the body from non meat foods may be beneficial in the same way exercise puts stress on the body but exercise is good for you.
@@AnneMB955 americans are broke and under stress. Shopping for, planning and cooking complicated meals is not going to work for most people. reference the popularity of fast food.
I started carnivore a couple weeks ago, but I know onions and garlic and a few other things have never been an issue for me. To my knowledge I never had digestive issues if I stuck to a fairly clean eating diet. But I was tired a lot and sore a lot. So I added onions and some other things back. What I noticed was that bananas mess me up now and apples aren’t as great as they used to be. BUT I can eat a couple dates stuffed with butter and have zero issues with it. Obviously I have a long journey ahead, already it’s made a big difference in how much food I eat and my energy levels. I’m actually shocked at how affordable it can be. No I don’t get grass fed everything. But cheap hamburger meat and some organic fruits and organic dairy is vastly healthier than a Standard American Diet.
I think yours is a sensible approach, there are fanatic vegans as well as fanatic carnivores. It is far too easy to demonise those who don't share our views. We have to work out what is best for our bodies.
Anyone plagued by autoimmune conditions have a history of high dose antibiotics, most probably given intravenously, just ask them when that was in their life and they’ll most probably recall it. This is what needs to be investigated further, an undeniable link made and the medical profession held accountable.
I never had any health problems, allergies etc. The only meat diet is better than eating meat and other stuff, like eggs, yogurt, cheese etc. It's amazing how different it feels when you eat only meat. If you don't have health issues maybe you can have a cheat day once a month eating fruits (they taste amazing) .
What I will say about cruciferous vegetables, or the many different compounds, plant based or otherwise, it doesn’t matter the nutritional profile of a thing ; how much of this vitamin or this mineral exist inside of a plant or an animal product for that matter if my body cannot get at it, what’s in it, is in consequential if I can’t Break it down and and how much of that nutrient am I actually able to absorb ? While we’re on the topic of vegetables anything that makes a person fart or gassy or bloat or belchy, belching, stomach rumblings, passing gas, all these things are symptoms that the digestive system for whatever reason is struggling to digest and assimilate something. when I eat Brussels’ sprouts cabbage and the like my stomach constitution overall is not calm and flaccid and relaxed as it is when I just eat meat, butter and eggs and how much of a particular nutrients is in brussels sprouts say for instance is inconsequential to me if my digestive system struggles greatly to digest it
Interesting point about magnesium brought up around 7:24 time stamp. I'm curious what supplements Dr. Peterson and other carnivore diet practitioners use? I definitely feel better and lose weight when I eat mostly green vegetables and meat... I have a hard time wrapping my brain around cutting green vegetables like broccoli out of my diet but I believe carnivore works for autoimmune issues and improved health for the people doing it. I also wonder if those that have certain food issues aren't lacking the proper enzymes or stomach acid to digest them and if working on those issues might also help... I sometimes take digestive enzymes when I eat a combination of food or more protein than I anticipated. Some food for thought... Pun intended!😊
Yes there is a strange misconception saying that carnivore diet can reverse all chronic diseases but may not benefits to other people. Remelber its an élimination diet. In a way is just a way to stay on a fasting state which seems optimal for the human biology
I hear a lot of people sounding convincing while saying the exact opposite of each other. I've seen documentaries where fat people lose tons of weight on both carnivore and plant based diets. I've seen people cure autoimmune disorders with carnivore and with green juice fasts. Then there's Okinawa. The place where people live the longest healthiest lives. They eat fish, meat, rice and vegetables. So maybe we don't anything and should be asking them for advice instead of giving it. After all... this generation of Americans is the fatest and first to reduce life expectancy vs their parents. I.e. the last people you should ask. Perhaps the important part is to consume a natural diet without processed food made in factories. Maybe you can be healthy with meat and vegetables... both or either... as you please. Americans used to be much healthier and they weren't on any extreme diets. They didn't have gym memberships either.
I find strait carnivore is too boring, even though meat is the centerpiece of every meal I eat. I like what I can grow in my own garden to eat. I wish I had the resolve to grow a pig to feed all the scraps to. Since I'm created and not evolved, I do think that God created plants for the food source but we've lost vital species to eat, or lost digestive function, or lost a good soil base on which to grow good plants. So animal products are there to fill in for us, as animals are good at concentrating low grade forage into protein and fat. If you've gotten wrecked through bad diet and chemical drug regimen, then blame plants for your woes, I think you're scapegoating. Carnivore might now be your curative treatment, but it is a treatment.
Up until just the last couple decades, most medicine is plant compounds. Maybe the benefit of the particular plant extracts that Max mentions are just that medicinal effect. Sometimes I think we conflate the natural medicines with general nutrition.
“I feel incredible! All of my symptoms and disease is in remission. I sleep better than ever. My mental health is better than ever. Life is a joy now!’ “So…why don’t you try adding in some of these plants? Studies have shown……” 🤮
I like the carnivore diet, but for me, the one that works the best is the paleo diet. However, meat (and eggs) consumption is at least 50% of what I eat (minimum).
I bought into the plant based cult for 3 1/2 years. Got weaker by the month. I did benefit from the weight loss, but in retrospect, the benefit had nothing to do with the plants.
Max mentions individual nutrients that may be in other foods, but doesn’t mention whether any other substance in those foods prevent the human body from absorbing them efficiently or if there are other substances that can cause more harm than the one nutrient will gain you.
I really want to try this. But I’m super scared about bad cholesterol, saturated fat and all that I already have heart issues I don’t wanna make it worse. Can anyone put my mind at ease on this diet
Yep carnivore has saved my health. I thought I was gonna die soon. And even "healthy" eating wasn't helping me. I truly think we evolved to be carnivore and that's why it works so well to cure disease and drive health. As all other species of animals, we thrive off very specific foods, not the "rainbow", not a "balanced" diet of many food groups.
The carnivore works for those of us who have diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or autoimmune issues. That pretty well covers 90% of the population. And yes it is sustainable- how I despise that woke word.
Love that you kept things respectful - but if you want to know why carbs being added back in are not a good idea look into Paul Mason's stuff and Ben Bikman - plants have nutrients that are available to animals that can properly break them down - not humans - eliminating plants and grains eliminated my migraines and my IBS. I suffered for over 40 years until I found carnivore. No way will I go back to that hell again.
Tolerate is the correct word here lol... our body can tolerate plants as much as it can tolerate smoking, drinking, and doing drugs. After all, most drugs come from plants.
Do you support the carnivore diet?

I had been morbidly obese (topping out at 405lbs in 2021) until I went to Carnivore in 2022. Simultaneously, I went off of caffeine, and started power walking 30+ miles a week. In less than 11 months, I lost 175lbs and I am still in the best shape of my life.
Alongside my weight loss, I have noticed a near elimination of my depression, my anxiety, and chronic overthinking. It has been difficult, but I feel so much better. I will never give up on me.

@GlennMarshallnz thank you. Finding balance in life has been tough for me, but I can feel it happening more and more every day.

Carbs make me binge eat, when i just eat meat, butter, eggs, and bacon i dont binge because its satisfying food.
Please do keep in mind when you eat something,
that the mind plays a big role in how we feel,
what symptoms we experience
and what bodily reactions we experience.
When you experience stress/ a negative emotional response
like guilt or fear your mind will most likely interpret this as threat/ danger and the body will react accordingly.
This has been studied a great deal.
I’m currently recovering from 2 decades of debilitating chronic pain and fatigue with brain retraining
where we REWIRE patterns like this with messages of safety to the brain (instead of messages of danger)
surrounding food and other possible triggers.

Yes! Thank you both!
I can't tolerate vegetables anymore, meat!!! 9.5 months carnivore, down 70lbs and 8 inches off my waist, feel the best I've ever felt
You need to listen to Dr Paul Mason.
Max Lugavere should talk to Anthony Chaffee MD.
You may need more electrolytes.
5 months carnivore. All health problems gone. IBS gone. Joint pain gone. Energy next level. My daughter is 4 months carnivore Health that were significant - gone. Weight loss incredible. My post cancer 72 year old mum gone carnivore Gwtting better all the time. Husband who is a doctor has gone ketovore. All health problems gone. Weight loss incredible. Another daughter had insomnia, depression, anxiety, couldn’t get out of bed. Went keto…problems nearly gone.
Good job from Jordan, still would love to see also Bart Kay present to debunk all that silliness coming from Max.
bart kay is an idiot
it’s funny that guy was doing everything he could to not admit that a straight carnivore diet can be a long term healthy choice.
Jordan has been on it for five years, his daughter as king of not longer, I’ve been on it for over a year and a half.
Losing weight is a side effect, it’s not the main reason to eat carnivore, the health benefits are why you should do it.
Especially if you’ve tried everything else….how has that worked out for ya?
vegans feel fantastic for the first 10 years too
@@dariuskrzempek5899 yeah, I tried a plant based diet and it sucked.
Great respectful discussion
I love Carnivore for health- but it’s so much easier to shop and make meals- buy meat- cook meat- clean up is easier as well!
Max should be doing this interview with Bart Kay
Ya, Jordan Peterson is too kind. Bart Kay gets right to the truth of the matter. ☝😆
Bart Kay is an opinionated loud mouth with zero science or research behind him.
@@EnlightenedCarnivore bart kay is a moron
Because most are too afraid to be seen as abnormal.

All the Inuit, North American Indians were carnivore until western food factories made them sick.
Six nations tribes ate also sunflower seeds, beans, squash,, corn and berries. But yes their diet was meat based
North American Indians harvested corn, beans, squash, wild fruits and herbs, wild greens, nuts and meats. Inuit are an exception because so little grows in that climate and their life expectancy has never been great.
@@robertbrown6531This is only true for the Southern Indians. The Middle and Northern Indians were carnivore and barely ate any plants.
I feel that you have to do what works for you. Some people can tolerate some fruits and vegetables some cant
You should probably not run so much. Good luck!
@@carijay That's an interesting idea. I heard we share microbiome even with people we live with without intimate contact.
But if that is true, we are the only species known where that would be the case, which makes
Me doubt this.
@@Eye_of_Horus
Eat OMAD, get an insulin bump and hold onto electrolites. Most of us on carnivore are not used to or unable to eat once a day because our gut is damaged and our gallbladder isnt properly functioning, so a common complaint is losing electrolites, fatigue, cramped muscles, etc.
None of this negates the fact that our diet is meant to be made up of meat.
@@justanother240 That is why vegetables and fruits come in handy...you eat what is around you in your environment. God gave us these foods.

@@hugoanderkivi Interesting! I would not have guessed.
Max Lugavere could debate Professor Bart Kay who would tear him a new one on nutrition.
bart kay is a clown
I dont agree with this host. He doesn’t understand carbohydrate addiction and that some people are ultra sensitive to carbohydrates. Please leave people alone. If the diet works for them, then let them do it. I feel it’s much safer to eat meat than to take a stew of medications like the current medical model promotes.
Does it help for enlarged prostate
What magnesium and potassium levels do cows have? Do they need less magnesium and potassium than humans?
"kale is bullshit" - Paul Saladino 🤣
Been carnivore for over 3 years,it works, so I'm sticking to it 😊
I never had any health problems, allergies etc.
I like how Max only brings up hypotheticals. Meat has all the nutrients you need.
Yes there is a strange misconception saying that carnivore diet can reverse all chronic diseases but may not benefits to other people. Remelber its an élimination diet. In a way is just a way to stay on a fasting state which seems optimal for the human biology
its not an elimination diet, thats just a term people have used for it, its the right human diet,

Dr. Baker has already tried to add foods. His meat only approach is the result of having experimented with different foods and combinations.
3 weeks on carnivore 18 lbs down ,the energy is crazy ,I used to struggle with sleep, now I sleep like a baby
Life is a joy now!’

Hey Max. You can get glycogen from protein too. Carbs are NOT the only source.
My doc came in all excited....my labs were never better!
The carnivore works for those of us who have diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or autoimmune issues. That pretty well covers 90% of the population. And yes it is sustainable- how I despise that woke word.

I tried it for two weeks and I want to continue to try it but going #2 is pretty nonexistent. About once a week. Does that change after so long?
Try more fat and/or magnesium citrate.
