From my understanding, they don't view sex as something that defines how committed they are to loving and caring for their partner, but rather as just a fun activity.
Two people can have sex, but not actually love each other, even in monogamous relationships. You could argue that polygamy is an excuse to have sex outside of your partner, but you could also argue that monogamy is more selfish, posessive or shallow for needing sex to be exclusive as proof of love and commitment in the first place.
While I myself am happily monogomous, I have seen happy polygamous relationships and learned they set their own boundaries just like us. They have different values and views on love, but as long as both people are consenting adults, I don't see reason to shame them.
Even in monogamous relationships you have plenty of cheaters and unhappy couples who cross boundaries or become possessive of their partners, in which we'd say it isn't a healthy relationship.
Polygamous couples may find their bond so strong that they feel comfortable exploring sexual activity without it taking away from that bond. One partner may not be able to do certain things in bed, may not be comfortable, or may not have the time to have sex as much as the other, so being able to explore that on the side can be fulfilling for both ends as long as boundaries are respected (things like letting each other know beforehand, steering clear of crazy people to keep each other safe, testing for STDs and using protection, etc.)

No. It might be a cartoon. But you can't just reduce it just to that. Fiction does have some affects in your brain. Connecting to a character shows that you relate to that character. It shows a lot about a person's personality. If a person relates to a morally good character then that person might also be a morally good person. It's the same when it comes to villains too. Vegeta mostly in Z was a villain even in the buu saga he killed innocent people. Zherka connected to him as a child. During that time super didn't exist (where vegeta was mostly good). So you can't say he connected to the good Vegeta.

I'm currently 27, and when I was 6 yo, I was gifted a cute sheep plushy. I still cherish her, I still hug her in my sleep, I still take care of her. When I was a child, I believed that she was magical and had healing properties. Now she's a beloved remnant of my childhood and the main comforting companion during anxiety attacks.
I can't imagine someone throwing her away. I would genuinely break down as if I'd lost a family member. I don't have a good relationship with my parents, but even they knew how important that sheep is to me, and never even thought about throwing her away. Why would his family throw away his teddy and then ridicule him for being a softie is beyond me.
