      Exactly. If someone is bored with keto they aren't doing it right. The quality of my food has gone way up, and I feel way better. A win win. You have to be getting paid a lot of hush money to be spewing out so many lies. That's what we are seeing in 80% of the medical community including nutritionists and dieticians. They would be out of a job if everyone followed Dr Westmans recommendations.

      I have to say, my breakthrough in carnivore was realising that food isn't entertainment.
      I spent a long time trying to recreate old habits, but have mostly learned to form new boring attitudes to food. I do still fall off the wagon too much though ...sometimes it is Aperol, sometimes ice cream , I'll always be addicted to carbs and they tug me on almost every visit to a shop.

    After losing 44 pounds in 5 months (226 to 182) on a ketogenic diet, I found both my cardiologist and my PCP to be intrigued and wanting more information. My triglycerides were cut in half ( 139 to 69), and that got their attention. When I told them my GERD disappeared and my blood pressure was down an average of 10-15 points, they were even more intrigued. I felt that they were open to hearing about the health benefits of the keto diet. I truly believe that many doctors are opening their minds to this concept, and I hope acceptance becomes more widespread in the medical community over time.

      Especially when they say, “pharmaceutical companies developed a drug, so they dont have to starve patients to control their seizers.” The fact is they were never starved! They were most likely satiated by eating a keto genic diet, and were only eating once per day, BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT HUNGRY! I’ve been eating zero carb now over 6 years. I’M NEVER HUNGRY! What you do on a ketogenic diet is you replace ALL carbs with fat. Thats a net gain in caloric intake (but calories are irrelevant). Eating more than before. But starving? He wants me to talk to a nutritionist. No way. I haven't felt this good since I got out of college (I am 60 now). I just wish I had done it 40 years ago. 160 pounds down. Look good in the mirror (except for the flabby skin - some sins are harder to come back from). Tried several times the low fat approach, and it always ended in tears in about a year. For the first time in my adult life my HDL is above the 20’s. I’m now off all diabetic meds. Gerd is gone. I’ve lost 30 pounds. I still need to lose 40 pounds. I’ve been in a stall for months. Now I’m trying OMAD hoping this will get me out of the stall. I would never go back to vegetarian/vegan diet.

      @Kyarrix 9 місяців тому +2

      True but it is not reasonable to expect everyone to want to treat eating as solely fuel. People enjoy good cooking and eating good food with people they love. That is how we have evolved.
      As with many things there is a middle ground between treating food as a pleasurable recreational activity and solely as nutrition or fuel.
      Right now it is too far in the direction of recreational activity, we have to bring it back towards something we do more for nutrition and fuel while not losing the other component entirely.
      What you said was absolutely correct, we should not treat it as a primarily pleasurable event. That doesn't mean we can't enjoy our food and bond over good cooking with our loved ones but it does mean that the focus should be brought back to what food should be, nutrition to support our health.

    I was diagnosed with stage IV carcinoma of the parotid gland I'm 2017. Immediately had 35 radiation-targeted radiation, followed by 4 chemo treatments. Pure Hell! Lost all my hearing in my left ear and sustained some facial paralysis Lately, I have had a noticeable increase in various skin cancers, tenderness in my left jaw, and noticeable drooping on the left side of my face. I have started a carnivore diet as a way to get myself off of sweets and carbs (living in Mexico, this is difficult). I am seeing my original oncologist in two weeks, so I am very apprehensive about talking about my diet change. I am certain that my wife, who was a practicing nurse for many years is supporting me now,will fold like a cheap suit in front of this respected oncologist. My PCP pushed back a little when I went HFLC, but now seems more open to my maintaining my health on a low carb diet and gave me a clean bill of health at my last appointment. I also challenged my sibling's doctor and got him to stop his statins and significantly improved his diet. That same doctor laughed at me when I suggested he order a dietician consult. The doctor is overweight, BTW.
      My parents are sneaking behind their doctor's back and lowering their Statin usage without telling the doctor. That is making them healthier, but isn't helping the doctor learn anything and do better with his other patients. WE ALL NEED TO SPEAK UP!

I've lost 150 lbs and all the inflammation in my joints, my hair and beard has grown thicker, and my skin is much clearer. No more pains in my abdomen. I don't take any meds or supplements. I work out 5 times a week at the gym. Do I ever cheat? Once in a while I will eat salad, mushrooms, onions, avocadoes, and split pea soup, maybe a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. But not weekly or even every month. I have watched some of these doctors' other videos. They are very biased and their mindset is from the old paradigm. They generally talk down to the viewer as if we are idiots. I wonder if in my life time the medical community will stop kissing the ring of the pharmacy and food companies and start actually try healing their patients, rather than give out meds and send you on your way.

      There is nothing wrong with some low carb fruits (berries), veggies, and nuts and dairy to turn Carnivore into Ketovore. Adding back in some of the low carb whole foods to go from Carnivore to Ketovore brought down my LDL to more reasonable levels and I still feel amazing! CGM showed that eating them hardly made my blood sugars budge at all.

    I just stumbled upon Dr. Westman’s video and so happy I did. I just began ketovore. I am very familiar with a clean keto diet having successfully lost a lot of weight. I’m now progressing to a carnivore diet. Dr Barry is amazing for those who may not know him. He’s the main guy I follow (among a small group of other Keto/Carnivore experts)
    I was so impressed with Dr Westman’s explanations and really appreciate that he effectively compared his knowledge to these two influencers. People are so often mislead by marketing. The fact that these 2 influencers are wearing scrubs, made me realize right away that they are only promoting what mainstream medicine wants the public to know/follow. Sadly, the food industry doesn’t want us healthy nor do the pharma companies.
    Thank you Dr Westman!! Glad I found you here. Will watch more of your videos.

In 2017 "The Obesity Code" was recommended to me which I devoured. As a result of my enlightenment 6 years later and counting I,ve lost 80lbs, A1C 11.0 to 5.0, BP lowered, Trig down, HDL up. Minus 8 in waist circum and many more benefits. Our anatomy has evolved to function best with a specific type of nutrition. If we stick with that we're good. Thank you Dr Westman.

    have it are defined by the use of the form of the word:

I feel amazing, now working out 4x per week, kicking ass at work, my fathering has improved and other relationships, and love the meat, berries, and vegetables get to eat as I please. Appetite naturally gets curbs, and "jonesin'" for stuff like alcohol, sweets, Marijuana etc all dissappear. Truly a miracle thing that big pharma, and medical and food/alcohol industries don't want you to know. The first three days were hard though with "keto flu"...but that goes away fast as the bacteria and cells that live off sugar and take over your brain briefly get killed.

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 9 місяців тому +1

      You're following the strictest form of carnivore, the lion diet? Beef, water and salt exclusively? Maybe you could vary it up with different cuts of beef. Tri-tip is looked down upon but I find that pasture raised tri-tip (possibly grain finished although that isn't ideal) is absolutely delicious.
      Do you eat eggs? Every now and then I will make bacon in the oven. I don't like doing it often because I don't want my house to smell of bacon but if the weather is nice and I can open all the windows I might make bacon and eat that over the course of the next few days. Make an omelette with goat cheese and bacon in it and that's a nice change from beef.
      Wild caught salmon is a good food. We don't have to be 100% exclusively beef, salt and water although Dr Chaffee would say that this is the best mode for getting healthy. It is definitely useful for people who are sick or trying to determine which foods are unhealthy for them.
      The problem with starting a pure carnivore diet can be oxalate dumping. For those who have eaten lots of fruits and vegetables before starting the carnivore keto stopping all vegetables immediately can cause oxalate dumping.
      If you're not experiencing that then you're good. I love Dr Chaffee but he does engage in hyperbole. When he says that plants are trying to kill us he's right but it also opens the door for what he is saying to be disregarded. Plants do have compounds that are not good for us. But it depends on the individual. If your people going back have eaten a specific fruit or vegetable for hundreds or thousands of years you are probably reasonably well adapted to eating it in moderation. This is why some of us can eat collard greens or spinach without ill effect but others can't.
      There is no one size fits all but there are elements that are applicable to everyone. We all have to avoid sugar, processed foods, processed carbohydrates whether they are white or so-called whole grain. There is almost no difference between white flour and whole wheat flour for example. We have to get rid of pro-inflammatory ultra processed grain and seed oils. This is true for everyone.
      How much fruit and vegetables an individual can tolerate while remaining healthy varies from person to person. I find that I do better on 90 to 95% carnivore some small amount of fruits and vegetables, far below this threshold for keto. 10 to 15g a day maximum.
      Give tri-tip a try. We have a butcher store near us, Double D Meats that is fantastic. We can get a 3 lb tri-tip, cut it up at home, salt it and let it sit open in the fridge for a couple of days, when we cook it we get a great sear and it is delicious. Very hard to get bored with that.
      Congratulations on your progress!

    The first thing I noticed when I went keto was my arthritis pain was going away. By second week I no longer took pain meds. By 2 months my IBS was gone. It was a 20 year problem. I lost weight over 6 months “45#”. Four years later, now 71, I feel great and am off all meds. I fired 3 doctors who tried to prescribe medication or tests. Currently I am seeing my general practitioner once a year for bloodwork and check-up. After getting lazy and eating more carbs, problems started up again. One week on keto and all is well. Thank you and keep up the good work. Spread the word everywhere. Most important, stop eating garbage.
