This is sad moment for me, because just month ago in Cascais, Alcabideche this tragic event happened - Wildfire.
The place is Parque Urbano Penhas Do Marmeleiro, my favorite place for calm walks and getting my thoughts together.
Well...in the end of July all this burned down to the ground😔 It's good that firefighters did put out fire really fast in 24 hours, since the wind that day also was 80km/h. It could ended much more dramatic, because Sintra and palaces also is not so far away from here.
This is not the only wildfire that happened in Portugal this year, there was more and bigger.
Other European countries also did fight fires this year. Sad, sad year for nature... See in the episode🇵🇹
Respect for firefighters and all people who helped in liquidating the fire.

Thanks showing. I live in Alcabideche and this is the first footage I've seen of the destruction, especially the drone shots. It is also one of my favorite places to hike.

Oh, that's so troubling. Fires have been so bad, here in Canada, Western USA, Hawaii... and countless other places. It scary. Human lives lost. An immeasurable amount wildlife/animals lost. It's heartbreaking!

Very sad but unfortunately all too common in many places around the globe. Praying that your favorite place will return to normal as soon as possible. 🙏🏻

The cork trees should survive. They grow the thick bark to protect the important parts of the tree from fire and the bark will grow back again.
